I’m sad about the change to spirits. I understand their reasoning, but it was fun to revisit them. You don’t always get to see it all the first time around. Also really useful for guides.

Was it really not clear to people that they didn’t have to follow them if they were gray?

Yeah I vote for ability to relive any and all spirits to be reinstated.

Most we’ve only experienced once. Our favourites we may have revisited multiple times since the update.

I don’t think it was the greyed out statues and path that was the issue, it was the camera panning automatically to follow the spirit path. Yes that’s irritating and disruptive, but not so much that the ability to relive spirits should be disabled

@sand dawn about your post in the feedback channel—actually, a lot of us really enjoy being able to share a server with Chinese players, since we aren’t able to play together in global Live (). Lots of global beta players speak Chinese as a second language, and there are plenty of Chinese players I’ve met and played with who speak English. But I still play with those who don’t because there are plenty of ways to communicate without words. It would be a shame for us to be completely cut off from part of a super active community just because they aren’t all fluent English speakers.

As for bug reports, Chinese players have been in the beta since the beginning, so I’m pretty sure TGC is able to process their reports. And the vast majority of the things we test and report don’t require being able to speak the same language as another player, so everyone being together still works out.

As for those of us who speak only English, one of the most widely spoken languages in the live version by far, it’s a good reminder of how to be inclusive of other folks, and what impact it might have on others if we assume they all speak our language.

It’s just an annoyance when communicating with everyone around is hard.

I remember frantically trying to scramble together some candles and upgrades in Soft in the weeks leading up to global launch. I had left it basically untouched after creating my account there.

@vapid drum sadly, not really. If you play on a tablet, you could each use the google translate app on a phone to translate via camera function, and each keep typing in your own languages

Just noticed, when the full chat window is up, the text no longer appears above the player's heads when using the table

Makes it difficult when its you and three players named Anonymous

Text also disappears from the chat window upon that player leaving the table.

...Or maybe its when you leave the table...

Either way, chunks of text get removed from the chat history upon joining and leaving tables/fires

But yeah, the chat history windows seems like its in flux right now. Can't tell what's intentional, and what's bug

If beta were to be linked to live (which is definitely not going to happen), it would result in beta players have a huge and unfair advantage over live players, and outcries of mutiny from live players who didn't get free passes, free candles, and free founder's capes.

Or, massive outrage when TGC had to reset beta progress and it reset those players' live accounts as well

So, definitely best that they're not linked. ^^

It annoys me a little that we can't relive spirits now, because I had planned to do some practice rounds with the Wasteland seasonal spirit before it hits Live.

I think I was just very lucky when I did it and I had a friend along to distract the krill, so I would have loved to be able to just try it on my own a few times.

It's only available on certain days. The spirits in the secret area loop around so just keep going there until it's a ||space station|| day (it's dark and the ||tv in the meeting room|| is flashing

yeah, the lock icon is the same we use for the non-seasonal spirits for wing buffs, so players figured it would grant a wing buff, but it was never meant to, but it was a pre-existing in-game asset.

it was a mistake on our part for not communicating clearly with a different icon. Kind of like the number of bug reports we've seen from players because the friendship constellation icon is the hug emote icon people thought it was a display error.

which is why it finally got updated to a new icon that communicates its purpose more clearly.

grandma's spirit shop definitely changed with this build.

Yeah, little things like that can be really important for non-verbal communication. the vast majority of players aren't connected to the wider community such as through discord or the various forms of social media and external communities where we can clear up any confusion through conversation. They rely on the game to relay information a certain way and when developers send mixed messages by reusing assets to mean different things it creates confusion and sometimes frustration.

I was thinking... in Lightseakers you couldn’t have piggyback lv2 without finding the piggyback spirit first. But you can unlock hair toss lv2 emote in live version without forest spirit even being out yet... Does it mean there could be something else to unlock for this spirit in live game? 🤔 Or am I just overthinking it? 😓
