I do feel that pressure. Candle running is already a part-time job. Seasonal candles (dailies) aren’t optional if you want to fully enjoy a season. Add to that another time-limited currency…. It’s one too many imho.

I think the condensed testing schedule in beta makes the ticket system feel way more stressful to us. They did say there will be plenty of leftover tickets by the end of each event so we can skip a limited number of days.

Seasonal Pendants and Ultimate Gifts will not appear on the Traveling Spirits in exchange for in-game currency. We plan to bring these items back in another capacity but we have not settled on what that will look like or the costs associated with it.

Wes also deleted previous statements he made on the matter because the company didn't have an official stance, iirc. So there's that as well

The fact that Pianist is part of this event is bittersweet for me. If they come in live, that means I’ll be able to get their piano and hair, the last two items I’m missing from past traveling spirits, but that also means future traveling spirits will hold nothing for me aside from wing buffs, since I’ve completed every season from Prophecy onwards.

Who knows? Maybe they’ll add more props to the spirit trees in the future. I think they bombed bc we didn’t have Shared Space spells and an ability to access more props for Shared Spaces when new props were first introduced

no....I think it's because the only props you could buy were from the assembly guide and we all know how assembly completion goes with the hard requirement of having more players to finish it
so couple that with how the only props you could get from then were tied to the TS that joined the game after or they're 80-120 candle event items

I’m just thinking about Days of Music compared to the new Days of Color. Past Days of Rainbow received a lot of criticism for seeming like it was just a platform for selling cosmetics. I realize that Days of Music is a different kind of event and perhaps doesn’t have the same sort of personal emotional resonance as DoC. But Days of Music, in contrast to DoC, has a lot less content. The sequencer is new and I hope that’ll be improved even more, but I guess I’d like to see more happening in the event.

Are you saying that everything turns out without much difficulty in these cases? But there is also a certain drawback: we cannot test all the objects and emotions if we do not collect enough candles and hearts every day to buy them. For example, there are bugs with certain combinations of clothes (I've seen it shown by others).

I think since it's the first year for Days of Music, it might not seem like a lot going on compared to Days of Color, or the 4th Anniversary, but I have no doubt that with each year that goes by, it's going to get bigger and bigger just like the other "Days of" events

I feel like Days of Music is a perfect little celebration in between two huge events so that we don't have 2-3 weeks of nothing new. It may just be to sell more instruments but instruments are something that skykids really want and enjoy having, and the fact that we get a free instrument that isn't just a reskin of an older one is pretty cool. There's also a lot of activity going on in the Harmony Hall that makes it feel very fun and full I don't feel like Days of Music needs anything extra added, it feels like plenty given that Rainbow and Anniversary are so massive.

But yeah last year DoR (originally) really did feel like such a sad afterthought, there was nothing at all 😭 just IAP cosmetics if I remember correctly which was sad. I'm glad they improved and made it much bigger, especially because peoples identities are so important to them making it a bigger celebration just feels so nice

Yes it’s short but since it’s just one quick tap a staccato is pretty accurate. The long button hold for the legato is accurate as well. It doesn’t sound pleasant when you’re playing a fast piece but it makes sense ‘mechanics wise’ plus, it is nothing compared to the real instrument same with the other instruments in harmony hall. I’m a violinist myself so I understand what you’re saying

Also, if you’d like, the violin is still in develop hence, “beta” so if you haven’t already, I recommend sending a feedback on the shortness of the note in #beta-feedback so the devs can see your message.

Ofc the guitar definitely sounds “better” in terms of quality and note length but as you’ve said the violin has holding options unlike the guitar so it’ll be difficult to play, similar to the aurora voice instrument. It’s still in its testing stages so there’s room for improvement . As for the tickets you missed, that’s completely fine you should still be able to afford things as long as you collect an adequate amount everyday

reminder for new testers, folks with like 70+ tickets already went through the first test period for DoM and our tickets carried over hence having more, but don't worry you'll still have plenty of time to get both the hat and saxophone before this testing period ends so try not to panic about anybody having more tickets than you

Also general reminder, whilst getting the items is great, the purpose of this test period is testing the actual ticket system/collecting them, etc. so make sure to leave feedback and bug reports on those aspects as much as possible!

In newer builds, there are often less bugs. Right now (for example) there’s an automatic / soft lock zoom when you enter the butterfly fields in prairie, the travelling spirits are having trouble moving and there are some “reaction” troubles (the prompt to hold hands, or to sit is a bit off sometimes depending on where you stand). Many more though, but you usually see bugs when you try different stuff.

Rather than asking countless times when is new season will arrive, what to do for new mechanism, etc,
why not hop on into beta and do them first? Experience beta in all it's bugs and crashes.

my main problem is two things, firstly the note is gross sounding unless you hold it out for a long time. it always starts a bit out of tune and shrill and then it settles into a real violin sound as you hold it, but not all notes will be held a long time (I also have this problem with the saxophone)

my other issue is that it’s basically impossible to play any kind of legato because there will always be a gap between notes plus the awkward sound of starting a new note when it’s out of tune :// would be nice if there were a sliding feature to create legato series of notes but I can see how that might be hard to maneuver? but idk as it stands rn I don’t think the instrument sounds good enough to warrant being iap 🤕 unless I’m just holding it to unrealistic standards bc I’m a classical musician (then again I’m sure I’m not the only classical musician who plays sky and might be bothered by this)

I see the earlier conversation has passed about not knowing what's up with beta content, but to add some context particularly for the new testers:

The beta-updates posts will usually not spell content or features out in detail for testers. This is for 3 main reasons:
1️⃣ Most common: Part of what we're testing is how players are able to understand how something works without having a set of instructions, in order to gauge what needs to be changed, or what will need to be describe in patch notes and other announcements.

2️⃣ There's already a change in the pipeline that will change how something functions, so a post would quickly become outdated and misleading.

3️⃣ The sheer volume of things happening at once during a testing wave means I don't necessarily have that information to share, or that I don't have information that would be accurate.

The end result is that, yes, navigating new content can be confusing, and there's much more need to explore and "figure things out" on your own. This can feel frustrating, but also it can be really valuable information for us, so ultimately it's an important part of the beta testing process

one other thing, maybe if the “ring” or duration of a note was just a little longer even if you only tap the note, this could help mitigate the short notes sounding strange. on instruments like piano or guitar which don’t have the fermata feature, the notes you play actually ring and resonate for a little while. but on the fermata instruments the notes are super short when you only tap which is what I think might cause a lot of the disjointedness when trying to do anything other than holding notes out for a long time.

I do get it. I just want to add that I had been looking in the game and in the updates channel and I don’t have unlimited candles so I can’t just go throw them at every spirit tree in the hall to find the one that sold tickets. It’s valuable feedback to give to ya’ll if it’s not intuitive to me, yes, but if everyone just expects me to figure it out on my own with limited resources (not having answers in updates, not having enough candles to experiment, not having a straight answer in this channel, etc. ), I can;t do more meaningful testing with the new cosmetics, instruments, etc.

I do understand it;s my responsibility to figure stuff out, I just didn’t expect asking a question about an initial barrier to testing the days of music was going to get so much pushback here honestly. Especially since the answer was not, in fact, in the updates server, and I had been trying to figure it out by interacting with the spirits in the hall. I feel like there’s a point at which “figure it out on your own” ultimately harms the ability for beta moths to test stuff (specifically if someone asks about it in this chat, not if it isn’t outlined in the beta update. I get why you guys do it that way, I just don’t feel like a new beta tester should be so discouraged by others about getting some help sometimes especially if it’s something that’s not the main aspect of testing.)

I understand frustration in game with testing stuff, but I don’t understand frustration in discord with getting help. I Just don’t feel like that aspect of the situation that happened was clear, but I’m glad this could provide more feedback in the updates server for other moths. Annie, I know I'm late replying but I just want to say I really appreciate how you asked your questions in beta chat. I can see how confusing the event tickets can be on where to find the spirit to buy items from. Especially as a new player who didn't play when the area opened.

I hope you give feedback on this because it would be really valuable information for the live community.

To answer your question there is a spirit sitting alone at a table on the bottom floor under the stairs that sells sheet music and new items that can be purchased with event tickets. It will take a few days to be able to purchase any items. Currently beta offers 13 tickets per day. If you have difficulty with any of this please add it to your feedback.

That's what I assume too. It sounds like a permanent edition, but it will need a lot of testing and feedback until it is fully prepped for live. Especially since it sounds like it's going to be a huge edition as well

It's not like a season or an event where it's a one and done round of testing per patch since it sounds a lot larger than seasons or events

Ahh yeah, I really hope it doesn't replace Home and instead, at Home there's just a boat you can take to it, or an 8th portal you can use, that way it's still readily available to you at any time. I am also holding out hope that it doesn't replace Home outright because aside from being more peaceful, it is also technically more practical with the portals and everything else being closer together.

I love the idea of festival tech in a homespace but on the other hand I do feel attached to our current home and the idea to have some place to go for peace and quiet is nice so having an option to set one or the other as default and go from one to the other is great

I like the idea of home being our home space and aviary being a hub similar to like our actual home where we can invite friends and then aviary is like the shopping centre

I'm guessing it will have a feature in it that would make players visit as we don't see much but it looks like there should be things to do in aviary

I feel like it's the perfect place to host events. With the main event being held in one of the realms but what would usually be the events we would have in home would be in aviary
It's likely that the event guide would still be in home to signify that it has started along with the usual seasonal changes home recieves

Overall, in regards to the festival tech itself, to me, it's only enjoyable to a certain point, because it's definitely a cool thing in the right places, but being forced to hangout in big crowds with no escape can be very overwhelming for a lot of people, which is why the more quiet spaces like Home are also needed and appreciated all the same

I adored it for the concert. I thought it was fine for the butterflies thing. And then it was annoying for the passage season (mainly because it's basically impossible to get into the same place as your friends). It's an excellent function. They just need to create experiences that build around it like the concert.

(Pov: they just keep doing concerts with indie artists in the future as random seasons or events)

I think the main takeaway was that concert mode was optional
it worked well for bloom because you had to sit down on a medi circle to enter it so you could still enjoy the event area without a whole lot of other players honking in your face

The passage quests were a good implementation of festival tech but it just felt off in the seasonal area, concert did it perfectly and the butterflies in days of bloom was near perfect as well. Its main flaw is that the passage version is unavoidable during its season
And the fact that everyone looks like napkins, they definitely need to take that aspect from passage and have them change depending on the use of festival tech

you didn't need to go into concert mode in order to gain anything, it was like well if you join you can see the concert
in the recent events you would be forced into the mode regardless if you wanted to collect tickets for colour/anni and that sucks

In days of colour and anniversary I feel that festival tech could be used if the cap of how many visable people there are is low as I thoroughly enjoyed its passivity in days of colour but for the most parts it's usually very aggressive

I honestly just want crowd mode to be optional like in days of bloom, I feel like TCG lowers it's enjoyement and excitement overall my shoving it into every single event or project, I or example don't enjoy it in days of color or passage(especially since it's not optional), Anniversary and Aurora concert I can understand and vibe with because parties and concerts usually have a lot of people and it makes up the athmosphere.

I think TGC really wants to push the narrative of the game being "social" and while I think its great, they should really let us have some alone time, if they're really adamant on not doing this, they can atleast introduced it and have some time limit on how much time a player can spend being alone in these areas and then force them in crowd mode afterwards. It maybe win-win situation for both parties but that's just my two cents, idk if everyone agrees with me but I don't think TGC will really allow us to have complete control of crowd mode
