i personally bought the tgc guitar pack in order to afford the cure for me outfit. it was a smarter choice in the long run because i got way more out of it, but at the same time i didnt want to be so stressed over it(also i would be way more inclined to buy IAPs if they came with regular candles)

Issues with sky my friends and I've noticed after playing over 2 years.

1. Growing difference between IAP and IGC prices (at first.) Now both IAP and IGC prices are insanely bad.
2. IAP items being significantly better looking/ better use and IGC items poor looking/ poor use/ useless.
3. They expect us to GRIND nonstop. Which is why afk spots were removed but now with current prices heavy grinding is also pointless.
4. Insane IAP prices. You know its bad when an umbrella in sky costs more than an umbrella in real life -_-
5. Insane IGC prices. 200 candles for swords pants, 100+ candles for a cape. -_-

What I feel is, sky should be more than a game for dress up/ flaunting outfits. N now, the game is unfair to everyone: moths, intermediates and veterans alike! Many of us are in school/ college/ jobs, we are tired after a long day and we can't grind nonstop daily for candles, especially when its clearly not gonna make a difference anymore. Many of us, especially students cannot afford the insane IAP prices either.

Yea I've been suggesting increasing the max candle limit we can get in a day, and also increase how much candle progress we can get when one chevron is exhausted

The issue with the inflation of cosmetics wouldn't be so much of a problem if there were other methods to acquire more candles.

But we're only given two: either wax or paying.

There's no bonuses. There are no discounts. There are no freebies. There are no apology candles. There WERE AFK spots. But they were taken away for absolutely no reason.

Yeah I’m somewhat of a vet and I can’t even keep up while having just 300 candles. I can’t imagine what moths and newer players have to go through. It’s just the TS and the events and the seasonal props for regular candles all line up on the same week or so and then everyone is scrambling for the candles they don’t have. It is getting ridiculous. By now they have to have some money to make some changes. I get it it’s a company they need salaries that’s great but some of it seems just plain greedy and harsh on the moths.

i have some friends that are upset that the AFK spots were taken away because they were able to AFK and make sure their 10 minute AFK timer didnt activate in-game while in class and doing homework, and they were able to otherwise afterward candle run the rest of the wax needed to get their daily 20 when they had free time. the removal of the AFK spots really sucks and the treasure candles in the vault waterfall and the village hotsprings doesnt make up for much at all

Genuine question: for your f2p alt, does that include buying out all the TS items without having used a seasonal pass when that TS originally came, and does it also include the heart-based items? Because short of continuous heart donations from very generous friends, I'm not too sure how it's meant to maintain its candle savings when heart increases generally come with candle decreases due to giving back to friends who give you hearts (and the question about the seasonal passes is because clearing out the spirits in season massively reduces future candle costs from them as future TS)

When Sky gets bigger, changes to outdated systems are needed. One that almost everyone agrees on is the TS system. It worked and was very good for the first few seasons!... But now, they're too many. You might say just do a TS every week, but than the economy of Sky will have to COMPLETELY change. How much each candle is worth decreases, because you need more of them. You might say lower the price, but then people who payed 80 candles for a cape that's now 40 would be mad... It's honestly a nightmare to deal with, but if Sky keeps going in this direction, it would be much worse...

As someone who started in Shattering I can barely afford stuff as is and normally I’ve been able to get to 15-20 candles DAILY, and it’s still not enough for events and Traveling Spirits. I’ve had to skip a lot of stuff because I just can’t afford it, and I’m only speaking from my point of view, I know other people feel the same too and they can be vets or newbies.

My mindset’s strictly been:
“What do I have to skip in order to get at least one thing I want?”
“I really hope the TS is a cheap spirit so I don’t need to spend all my candles again.”

Which… kinda sucks, I’ll admit. I didn’t even participate in Feast because I was so burnt out during Aurora that I couldn’t even log on. It makes me feel icky.

I meant that increasing the chevron wax amount. Iirc we get 15 candles when we've exhausted our 3rd chevron. What I suggested is that they increase how many candles we get per chevron, like 20-25 candles after the last chevron is exhausted before proceeding with the candle progression as normal

I feel kind of lucky I’m a bit picky, with say Travelling Spirits. I don’t spend candles or pay unless I really love and find the item adorable and would be using it lots. For me I do like spending during events, I love Halloween, Christmas, Rainbow, Days of Love, etc. Prices are expensive so each year I get a little more. For days of love this year I’ve been putting money aside for the IAP items. I only buy if I really like, for example that Cat backpack and cat cape were so worth it to me!

It’s kind of like going to the clothing store, just picking out things I know I’d wear.

I’m not even sure the solution. Each event they add new items, which I love for variety and want them to keep doing but yes what that means the cost of each event will rise. I think the events are meant to be collected over time, each year you can choose something special from the event.

I think maybe they need more free to play items, more base capes with different colors that aren’t to expensive, they don’t need to be super unique like the high cost ones, but give more ways for players to create a new unique look for themself. Speaking for myself when I was a moth, you quickly have an urge to become unique because you don’t like how dull the moth cape is or how boring your hair is. But the base capes all cost hearts and capes are usually IAPs and other capes are from TS/season, so it might be good to create some more capes for maybe 5-10 heart range or 20-40 candles so players can create their own unique look as they work towards the higher cost items.

But with each event having new items, I think getting everything isn’t going to be how it goes anymore. You’ll slowly collect more items each year you play.

Probably depends on your average rates of candle income vs candle expenditure, but everyone's experience with Sky differs based on who they know and how they play the game. For me personally, a good chunk of my friends are either inactive (so they're not around to receive hearts) or they're older players who started before me who refuse more hearts since they've got nowhere to spend them, so my candles tend to rise when I still make daily runs and don't have anywhere efficient to give out hearts

tgc is a barely popular small company with, even if having millions of players, has a shockingly small community. you literally never see it outside discord if you're not looking

they do not need to make their players feel this way about prices in their game. im pretty sure they dont need to cost this much money, igc or iap, for items that barely do anything. i will repeat what i've said before again.

cosmetic iaps should be no more then 5 dollars. mask and necklace? 99 cents. hair? 3 dollars. cape? 5 dollars. fun prop? 6 dollars. useful prop? 10. charity items? less then 21 dollars. (the prices are mixed if its a pack)

more items + less cash is better then less items + more cash. also, this applies to existing items aswell

how to compensate? give a lot of candles/season candles and hearts/ascended candles, and let the player choose. aka, 2x the item's price in candle shop candles, then rounded to the highest number so its even. ex. if the 15 candle pack was 16 candles, you'd times it by 2 (32), then round it to the highest number it can go to (40). if it's close to a multiple of 50, change it to that 50. so, our parenthesed' number goes from 32 to 50.

this can obviously stop at the rounding part, but i still get my point across.

also this does not apply to season passes, candle packs, or previous season iaps including rhythm and gratitudes

I've been pushing this and I'm an oldie as well. I really think it'll help a lot of these issues, giving new players a chance to get cosmetics they don't have, allowing a space to take a break or catch up on candle farming from conversion if you have said season. Plus, imo it'll actually make people less inclined to break the TOS in certain ways since the cosmetics will come back eventually.

There are two (or three if you count the races seperately) ways to get to the Yeti Mountain with how I run paths, so I could pick and choose where I wanted to go, collect 2 (now 3) candle cakes from Dreams Village and Yeti's hut alone along the way-
Yeti Race, as it seems many people are stating, was/is great as a minigame (when you don't have to wait for a partner haha...)

Funnily enough, I didn't actually enjoy the Yeti Race so much myself, felt like a rehash of the Sliding Race in a different spot (which I only really rush through for the candles). What I personally really want is a big open area where you can fly at absolutely insane speeds with large booster rings (similar idea to the flying race, but with even more speed), whether it's set up as a race or a really large area to explore. I'm wanting something that rivals the feel of F-Zero, but actually in the air. Season of Flight disappointed me because that was the direction I was hoping it'd go in, but the wind circuit just doesn't do it for me

nope, it was removed fully in the latest beta patch. now you have to actively move around and burn things if you want the free light. they specifically made idle candle wax spots no longer do that, instead replacing them with candle cakes. granny was the last time that happened, and a lot of people enjoyed that and used an instrument to bypass the afk timer (that'll stop you gathering wax when afk)
the next patch, that was removed so no one can farm idle wax without actively getting up and moving around

You place the lanterns/burners/brazier at the plate area on the table, buns appear and the buns will get burned automatically without anyone needing to move around and burning it

It helps a TON you have no idea, especially if its a full table with burners, I've had those rare times and nobody got up

On top of all that, people who live cr to cr basically just to afford the next ts - they aren't going to have spare candles to afford event items. Props- 10-15 hearts or 50 candles each

IAP's

Pants and capes about 5 $ (Not really sure about it) Maybe too low.

Packs 10 to 15 $

Lets be honest you can get for 10$ a whole season

Also candles

15 candles should be 1$

I compared it to many other games and these are the most realistic prices.
Of course Collabs and days of nature Items can be more expensive.

I think it's weird that they want you to work for so many candles to afford to test things. Stuff they want players to check out and try should be cheap or free since it's beta. Or they should be giving out some allowance to spend on the items of note. I just skip the stuff and only buy on live but then the spells don't always give you much time to really test it out.

I don't think that we should have an accommodation for candle prices specifically cause we are beta testers. I think its only fair we still earn our own candles

BUT I think they need to lower candle prices in total across both beta and live. They should be at a same, affordable, rate. People are still going to buy candle packs in live if they want to, but they shouldn't havr to. That and they need to work on making candle collection easier again. They did, but with the removal of idle spots, it only became hard again. The wax orb spots are nice.. but they didn't even give a lot of wax to begin with.

Yep! Wholly agree. There's quite a few things CN server doesn't get because of certain restrictions, so they have things that are exclusive to them. For example, CN server Sky doesn't have Journey Pack and Nintendo Pack

One of the UI changes I like from them is that they moved some of the 'Emote/Stance/Spell' UI to the RIGHT vertically, it looks nicer. And also there's a panoramic camera mode that pans out father, which is really great for photos of areas

Talking about the difference between china's net ease servers vs our international ones is always an interesting debate. As stated before, it feels unfair compaired to what all they are given and we aren't shared as well... but It also makes me wonder- how much of that is actually any of tgcs work or imput vs how much of it is net ease specific. it's mainly because net east is the main reason we never really get access to cn server related things as well. We would need their permission to use it.
