I had this idea earlier but ill say it again. Maybe offer all IAP for high price out of event then when it is currently event the item is a discount price? So item is worth $10 - out of time is $12 and in the time it is $8. This way tgc still makes around $10 and the loyal (or lucky time) players who stay around get discounts. The ones who don’t care can just buy whenever. This will help lower the cost of some IAP maybe and keep tgc profit?

they absolutely should do events that allow your cap to be higher than 20.

Its kinda hard to balance an economy where people can buy the currency and or have tons left over from seasons.

I do think they need to have a “standard” cost for things like every cape is 75 candles every pants is 70 ect so its at least more predictable, but it would lead to some events/ts being more expensive and others being more affordable.

Double candle events only let you collect the maximum faster, there is still a hard cap on how much is earnable a day iirc its 21 during a season and 25 off season. Before the chevron system idr if there was a cap or not its been two years since

I was wanting to jump into the conversation earlier and speak my peace but I felt that it would’ve fallen on deaf ears. I get that people are voicing their complaints, opinions, ideas, etc. I love the fire and passion that we all have but I believe that it should be done so in a more constructive and positive manner rather than going after each other. I agree that there are items that are pretty expensive for alot of people whether it be IAP’s or regular items that are bought with candles. I have noticed that the cost has gone up quite significantly for regular candle items which makes me wonder if that’s a way to get more players to grind at daily CR’s and spend more time in game along with purchasing candles. I’m sure there’s a master plan that TGC has in the works that may not make sense to everyone, but me personally, I just play the game while enjoying the love, light, positive vibes, and the overall togetherness we as a community have and has helped TGC and the mods build over the years.

Besides from the very first day when i agree it was a full dump fire in here Things have settled down and people have been having conversations about how we think sky should change and things that shouldnt moving forward. There have been some oopsies and yikes here and there but the conversation has been mostly constructive and polite.

Also me and toast were just speaking about that same exact problem, how things appear to be more expensive and as things are rn, giving f2p more cosmetics would mostly be unobtainable and difficult to grind for, you're welcome to express how you feel it should be handled!

TGC seems to focus more on money grabbing rather than putting work on improving gameplay and the experience as a whole. It should be a social game like it used to be but its essence now is just typically getting currency and buying stuff. For example, I haven’t seen any cosmetics or something free in Sky, you have to farm and spent candles or use your real money to buy sth. But you can see other games STILL have free cosmetics for players in each event. Such as Pubg, LOL,…

Yea, I’ve been keeping an eye on some of the discussions along with @versed steppe sharing screenshots of some of the convos. It’s been quite disheartening to witness the negativity but I do see where people are coming from and like I said earlier, I do love the passion that everyone is exhibiting bc I feel like it shows how much we care about the game and the community we have. Me personally, I don’t mind purchasing some of the IAP’s bc a lot of them goes towards charities like the sea turtle cape and the ocean cape last year to help the ocean or the green cape to help with another charity. Now some of the other IAP’s I don’t purchase, like the shared space decorations, because I don’t use them. Bottom line……I get that the TGC staff has bills to pay and it does cost money to run a company and pay the employees but I do agree that some of the items are expensive and there needs to be some wiggle room for other unique and cool items.

Completely agreed in my opinion the charity ones should be from donations and in game items and if they are going to be $20 or more they should make it come as a bundle of things and it make you feel special for contributing and the regular In game purchases should be only $20 if it’s a bundle but that doesn’t mean put like more bundles than lower priced ones maybe like one bundle every few seasons or just make the timing balanced but the rest should be $10 or lower in my opinion

This is not very logical, Think about the days of fortune masks. The ox mask is easily one of the best animal masks in the game and its not an iap. Why would they dowgrade a mask for another event? Its just in development currently and the final design is not the one we currently have.

I think it’s a spectrum. There are some requests that are relatively easy to implement—putting more pants or capes in a season. Other things take more time. We got the friendship constellation revamp, map shrines, free hearts from quest givers, heart nodes after unlocking high five instead of hug, ways to get AC outside of Eden, all sorts of instrument improvements, free trial spells for IAP, events with more gameplay, and fire props that can recharge you, all based on player feedback. And some of these took time to make

What I thought about why Cat hair changed into IAP and Cat mask changed into IGP is, We didn't have mask yet in IGP tree like some events like Feast, Bloom, Nature, etc. doesn't have mask yet so maybe they'll add it sooner. And of course, if a new mask has a rare design, that'll be like 50% chance to make IAP.

Fortune blush mask became IAP cuz it's basically rare and not so common. If anyone disagrees about Cat hair and Mask explanation, go complain about it just on your thoughts. Note that BETA always have changes and it's not FINAL yet.

I think it's both. The younger players I know have fun with IGC cosmetics and free spells and maybe get the season pass if they can convince their parents. They don't buy everything from the TS, just what they can afford with the time they have for cr. The older players buy the IAPs they want and skip the ones they think are too expensive, and they grind more for TS stuff since they're better with cr routes and don't get interrupted with "hey kid, go feed the cat!" or whatever.

The grumpy mask is literally one of the, like, 3 to 4 masks that change the eye shape. It's pretty unique. It looks generic, but the key is on the eye shape.

I feel that the "generic" look is what gives it a classy air. It's"generic" but it's unique. Because of the eye shape. And it can fit with all outfits too. You can rock them black masks with anything.

I'm not saying that is any excuse for us always feeling like we're being misheard and given the run around when things like this happen, I do think they need to come up with some solutions for maximising their communication because it's a common game developer problem and it would be better to improve practice rather than fall into the stereotypes, but I imagine they have to discuss all that internally and the more vocal we as a community have become of the years the more often it probably happens anyways.

I think it's been said a few times already by a handful of us, I know I've mentioned it myself before - but it would have been impossible for them to drop an entirely new build and rework the IAP IGC item swaps within ONE day, just because they saw something was popular. Like I really think it's a poorly timed and unfortunate change that they have already mentioned they were planning before we got the first build. It appears we got an outdated first build and they dropped the second one so soon to correct that, but admittedly it can appear to us to have been done for jaded reasons when we keep losing trust in them and that's the reality of these discussions - tgc need to find a way to earn back player trust, it's not about specific cosmetics being IGC or IAP and I hope that's the thing they will address and continue to improve upon as time goes on.

And I will be honest, before I took time to step back and reflect on everything, I genuinely did think it was suspicious that a popular item was suddenly IAP. A healthy dose of skepticism is founded when it's about handing over your money to any company, but upon reflection I do honestly believe that these choices were already in the works like the devs have tried to tell us and everything has been a big mess of poor timing, bad communication, and a lot of heated emotions when these things were initially addressed.

while i thought my friend is just a pure hearted girl who hates to talk bad about anything and anybody, i had decided to ask my father (Who's both a web programer and a game programer) and surprisingly, he did prove that it is not possible for an item to be changed from one state to the other overnight, and that many game developers choose to do 'two patches' in order to change the state of an in game item, but that is only done in beta, otherwise it is unacceptable for them to do it in the live version (didn't tell him it was beta)... 💀

I definitely think it's easy enough to assume these changes are made will ill intent, it's a lot harder at times to step back and reflect on everything especially when we're all still worked up and we're still waiting for an official response on everything. Understandably that also takes a lot of time on tgc's end and given its the weekend, etc. it was all just really bad timing. But I think until we hear further, it's fine for us to have made our assumptions but it's better for us to reflect on all the info we have and not get trapped in a loop of anger.

But to a broader point—whatever causes the metallic bug may be causing some other bug too that doesn’t seem at all related. So QA could be going about their job to fix a major bug, say with those pesky Adreno GPUs or whatever, and they fix it and improve something important for players! But it also ends up fixing the metallic glitch. Things are super complex and connected in weird, weird ways—which sometimes means one bug fix causes another bug to happen, or “fixes” a bug that we enjoyed

I find myself agreeing with many here. Yes, the action was way too quick to be some sleazy attempt at making a popular item IAP. Even being dirty like that takes time.

The reason why I'm angry is because of these communication issues that have occurred, have been occured, and will continue occuring. It's annoying, leads to many expectation, and it's got to change.

Patience is key. I don't expect any changes at Monday, considering it's the weekends. Nonetheless, I hope change is made, and the errors are communicated the way they have to be (for once).

Patience is key, but I think we should also realistically expect that nothing we see in a first round of beta is necessarily going to stay that way, and that with how much is happening at once, it’s not an environment where we can expect a community dev or two who aren’t involved in the different aspects of development to give us 100% accurate, permanent info. It’s changed for sure. I think some of it is because back in 2018 we were a small village of players, and it felt like everyone knew everyone. Now the game has a bazillion downloads and a bajillion players. Even when the devs come in to chat, it’s harder to see because it’s not a Facebook group anymore, or posts get buried fast

I guess it's like I've said before they're fixing either the glitches that they've always been meaning to get round to - rocket and spiral and table drive, etc. are all bugs and never intended features. Or they're fixing them because they're causing other bugs when new features have been added. Or they're nerfed because they fixed something else and it caused a knock on effect.

From what they told us about piggy spasm still miffed they didn't address removing spiral but c'est la vie it was causing people to spasm when they were just trying to piggy because the button was too close or something to that effect, personally it felt like a lame excuse at the time, but I'm not a dev so I don't know all the ins and outs, I will simply mourn spasm for all time

Yes oobing is encouraged in sky, and I think it's great when we stumble across a glitch to get us into oobs, but I think we also have to remember that these things have never been intentional mechanics and at some point they might be yoinked from us for whatever reason. I don't think it means tgc are actively trying to wipe out oobing abilities (beyond maybe ones that literally allow us to break the whole game like I see some people do) but they probably have to balance allowing us to enjoy glitches with maintaining a stable game.

I've noticed even over the humble year that I've been playing, the community has grown exponentially and even in cases like talking with the devs, everybody enjoys them coming in so everybody gets excited and suddenly it's a whole parade of hellos and questions for them
I bet it's overwhelming but cool for them to have such welcomes. I know I'd throw myself in the opposite direction if it was me though

Genuine question though guys, to get back onto topic a bit - aside from the changes and miscommunications, what have you guys enjoyed so far about the new mischief event?

I think it's cool we get the cauldron back, I was worried having the same area might feel boring, but when I saw it all again I was kinda relieved like welcoming home an old friend?
I also naturally love the cat hair, the cat mask wasn't that big of a thing for me I didn't really enjoy the first iteration as much as others, but I do hope we get another iteration that maybe resembles the same sorta shape as the first model cause the current one feels a bit too standard imho.

I also really love the fact that Jenova is randomly locked up, like zero explanation, just him sitting behind bars lamenting cats and the designers it's pretty cool that they involve us sky kids in their team jokes like that

I also really love the cat, but I look forward to more consent based yeeting in future

If I'm missing anything I'll probably yammer on more later but that's all I can think of now

it's not really a bug though, it's an expected part of beta. iirc beta faq says something abt how you won't get compensation if you lose currecny or smth because there's just so many bugs anyways

As someone who has had multiple cats for years and knows a ton about cat body language, they aren't too wrong, and you aren't above them for knowing more than them. Yes the prop in-game represents a distressed cat and you essentially provoke it, but it's a game about blobs who fly with a piece of cloth. It's an issue in real life but this is a game at the end of the day. It's not encouraging you to go and hit a cat. Yes, I shared similar thoughts with my friends about this. How you wouldn't be able to use the cat prop on someone you didn't light (grey skykid) / someone who is AFK. I think the cat prop is hilarious but I also think it's the perfect prop for trolls to yeet AFK skykids into the rain / krills path. Ohyes, abt the returning players and new players...

You see, there is an increase of cosmetic cost lately. For the new players it will be kinda not fun to force them grind once they start playing sky. And so does to returned players. They haven't cr in some time maybe because of the school, work, or device issue. Slapping the returned players with a cool cosmetic but with a pricy cost is kinda.... disappointing for them. It's like it's their fault for not being active and now they can't get it.

From the other games I have played, after reaching around 6 months or 1 year, they will give extra reward for new players first to catch up and returned players too. Maybe TGC should try make this since farning candles in sky is quite tough both before the chevron system and after the chevron system.

I think they meant whatever is going on now, the devs said that it was a mistake, the cat mask was supposed to be an IGC, it was not supposed to be an IAP. and so, they returned it during the second patch, and the cat hair was supposed to be an IAP but they couldn't change it during the first patch, causing all of this trouble to occur since they had to do it in the second patch. i guess now they're forced to make it an IGC, little mistakes can cause the biggest of mess.

i just see another hairstyle that is well produced, the only thing i see in it is how tgc has improved in their hair styling, it's really hard to code that hair, identifying it, structuring it, all that isn't easy, they really approached a high target and managed to produced this high quality hairstyle, i'm just proud of tgc's work. they started working hard on the details and small things like the character's hair.
but i was quite shocked with all the hashtags and posts and chaos that was made due to that hair, like, if it were me i'd just stand there shocked as i quickly hand it to the skykids without hesitation.

i think the hype is mostly because it’s kind of an anime style cat hair and people are really into that sort of thing, aesthetically it is an exciting new hair! yes the production value of it is really great and it looks amazing, but it’s also exciting because a lot of people tend to be into the vibe of that and the style it has.

I understand the hard work that TGC does to their game but it doesn't change the fact that their customer service is a bit off? If they worked hard with the coding I'm sure they'll make an effort to communicate with the community properly as well and stop with the sudden surprises and leave us hanging without explanation

man...i just got harassed by 2 hackers and 1 normal player who was trying to report them and yeet them by cat prop..
the player confused me with those 2 and they kept throwing the cat prop on me who was just trying to farm for grandma... reported them multiple times (the 2 hackers, ill let the player slide) and they targeted me

they may change the current items prices, the cat hair may become an only item, not paired with a bundle, at a lower price. it is good news but doesn't match the player's expectations.

they may also add more in game currency items, perhaps expencive but not too expensive. which is also great news, but probably not entirely what the players are looking for.

this may reduce the chaos, but won't turn it off completely.
the cat hair was the subject to this entire matter.
so i don't know what is to be done, what i know is, if they make the cat hair an IGC item, it'll save me more money. so i hope things go well

1. revert back to previous igc
2. tell us to lump it but in a professional way
3. nerf everything
4. shut beta down cause they tired of us
5. who absolutely knows at this point

But I think it's a lot more complex than just lowering IAP prices in general so if that's what everyone is hoping for come early next week then I'd probably advise aiming lower in your expectations for now
