@hasty wave ||You're supposed to get caught there. Slide all the way down the slope, at the bottom there's a sort of shrine and another meditation spot. Reach there, and the shrine will flare to life, chasing away the war machines. I've once avoided them completely, but it is pretty hard to do.||

The game doesn’t really have a checkpoint system like that if you’re just in the beginning it’s going to send you back to the beginning

Sigils aren’t something that persists between runs if you use chapter select it will override your current checkpoint in your journey
If you want to go back where you were you must select continue journey when you start up the game

I've found my old fan sketches from 2013. From that moment I had been waiting the opportunity to play Journey 'cos I had no PS at that moment. Didn't watch any walkthrough to get this experience myself. 7 years have passed already.

One of the first video games I finished on my own was Journey. I’d play it on my uncle’s ps3 over and over and over again. I never tired of it. Recently I went back and played it again and all the memories came rushing back to the point of me being teary-eyed. I can feel Journey’s influence on Sky, and its wonderful. TCG has a big place in my heart for helping build my childhood, and my love for games such as these 💕

@lunar kernel well almost everything:) , the slide race, the chirps, the flying approach(cape/scarf) , charging companions, limited player interaction, war machines=krills, vault of knowledge = journey tower incl mechanics, world fauna
What's more the whole plot is actually Journey based-you start in an empty place, you discover previous race gone, you find traces of great battle and you get to the last part where you have to sacrifice yourself.
Sky is a multi-player, pop version of Journey)

Not much, you can mostly try to collect trophies, like trying to cross a bridge without completely rebuilding it, finding all the ancient glyphs (which are really pretty) and collecting all the glowing symbols. Playing with a companion is fun too.
But trust me, it never gets boring

Well I just finished my first time playing journey and it was stunning! Though I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing half the time lol but on the bright side, I didn’t get hit by any guardians. I’ll just thank my experience with sky for that. I can see how sky is Journeys spiritual successor, but I am very happy to have finally played journey. I kinda wish I played journey before sky ||since I’ve gone through eden so many times that I’m kind of unfazed by dying in the end so journeys end didn’t hit as hard, but I still felt it||

I played completely blind but the one thing I learned from Sky was to take as many screenshots as I could; I was so lost all the way and ||at the snowy part I got hit like five times, gave me a real headache D:|| Looking through the screenshots afterward was worth it though!

Just replayed journey for the first time in probably a few years, got this beautiful photo, and I actually remembered where most things were so I got my ||white robe|| back pretty quickly, I sadly lost it because my original game was on the ps3 and we got rid of it when we got a ps4, but I’ve almost 100% the game again

Day 736383726273: I was going into the second guardian part in le mountain with somebody following me, the light shined on them and I ran away to not get hit too. They proceeded to get hit a LOAD of times but I waited for them at the next part and helped them out until we died together :)

Journey just feels more... Real. Since you can't talk to people or do silly things in sky, you just feel a lot more connected to your partner too. Plus it feels more dangerous since you can't avoid guardian attacks, so they're actually a threat.
The ending is better too. I actually quiet down everything around me just so the music can shine.
While in sky... I literally say "this is cringe" everytime I get reborn.

I feel like a part of me favoring journey is that it's only about the story, there's no cosmetics or having to rebirth 10000x for a mask or something, it's simple and pretty

i think my deal with sky and journey respectively is that they both share a theme of meeting companions and progressing with them, if you choose. i think journey does this beautifully and sky does too but it's diminished by the chat and friends system in my opinion.

I think this is a huge difference between them and impacts the overall mood and experience gained from each game. Journey, you can play however you wish. Sky, not so much - in the end you need help to progress (without glitches).

And when we escaped the guardians I was so immersed in the experience

How can I play flow? It doesn't show up on any PC stores
@vivid obsidian just take your time, it shouldn't be so difficult. Keep in mind you cannot hide from guardians unlike krills, so it's even more important to take your own time. Look at their paths carefully, it can take a while to get used to.

The reason why I prefer the guardians over krills is because of how they’re introduced to the player
I got REALLY spooked when the first guardian “eats” the cloth creatures
I still get spooked by them!

I think the reasons why I'm more afraid of the guardian in journey than the krill in sky goes beyond the fact that if you're seen by a guardian you basically lose automatically. Krill are based on an actual natural animal, but guardians are completely mechanical and the way they twitch rapidly when they spot the red fabric really freaks me out.
Also when our little fabric friend ||got killed|| I was so sad!! It hit a little harder than when the krill attacked the manta because lil fabric friend kinda flew with us and led us along and stuff and then it ||died||

@real lynx If you get collector's edition on ps4 then you'll get Journey, Flower and Flow. It's all in one app in that case, you just get an extra screen for choosing the game you want to play. It's quite cheap when on sale. Looks like you can download the PC version from Jenova Chen's website.

Hey guys! I installed Journey with a 5 dollar discount on the Epic Games Store, but I don't know what to do after you finish the game. ||I thought there would be a village or something that you could just explore, but once you get to the mountain, you're just bounced all the way back to the start. I figured there must be something else to the game, as 2 hrs worth of gameplay most likely won't cost 15 dollars||

Find them on Epic Games Store and Steam, Epic has a discount for Journey. They cost money. There is one called 'Journey', it's realms slightly resemble Sky's, there's one called 'Flow, ' it's underwater exploration, and I'm pretty sure there's one called 'Flower', where you act as the wind guiding petals or smth.

I have journey. I’m still not done maybe I’m just not good. It was t that much I thought it was worth it. It’s more puzzle and much less social. If u want something like sky it will remind u of it but it’s much slower. Really up to you.
