Go spectate the doomsday, and smash yourself into big red rocks while crabs getting mad on you, then now you're good

The shard thing is an event similar to grandma and geyser. It happens approximately 1 hour after reset and every 2 hours after and lasts for approximately 50 minutes per session

The shards landing time however— has no set time and it changes everyday. The time is updated everyday in the pinned message in #questions-and-help by Vale

The shards land in the Realm where the seasonal candle is. As for the specific area it lands on, we have to find out ourselves

are you getting the flashbang cutscene? for black shards when you finish burning enough it'll flash and zoom to the center shard that breaks up and turns into wax balls.

ope sent that at the same time as you sorry. you need to burn enough plants for the cutscene to go for the wax to appear. some people are having issues of the plants not burning properly. it helps if you have someone with you to burn them a little faster

if you go to your left when you first enter vault there's an opening in the wall that meets you into the secret area

You have to have played through eden first. A few times a day, eden sends shards down. (Big red or black crystals.) You can tell which realm currently has a shard there because there will be a notification "darkness has fallen on [area]" and glowing shards appear over it's home portal. Go there, find the shard, burn the darkness plants around it to receive wax (black shard) or a memory and AC (red shard).

With these shard events there are two types.
Red shards allow you to complete an activity that completes the seasonal quests, and also give you ascended candles.
Black shards only give you regular candles.

The shard events happen on a schedule and last about 50 minutes. The start time changes from day to day, but you can find a schedule that Vale posted and keeps updated pinned in #questions-and-help
