What I did (with my friend as well, together) is we went into the short race, lit the 4 candles, and then waited until there was a random person who came in. They sat down at the glowing circles to initiate the race, and then we went right back out when the cutscene was about to begin (for the race). And then the spirit was available! Not sure if it will help but it worked for us.

The spirit was bugged last time there was a quest/ task here. It’s a different bug though. Last time it was locked.

I would recommend going to the area first and making sure you land on the checkpoint at the ice rink; once you are there, head home and wait for a few seconds until you feel like the previous server has server jumped. Afterward, use the return shrine and fly up to the spirit as quickly as possible
It takes several attempts at first and might be a bit difficult for those with lower amount of wing wedges but it is doable. I was able to complete the quest this way
Reason you would wait a few seconds is because you want a new server that has not previously burnt the spirit for reliving. Would also explain why going to the race or another area works 👀

The trick is you should be aiming to be alone in that zone. It took me about 30 minutes of restarting to realize that every time, there were other people there at the same time I got there. The time I finally got it, i chirped and there was no one in the server with me.
However, this is just speculation, so I could be way off.

Nonetheless I just hope people are able to complete the quest;; or that this buggets fixed soon. This also happened with the spirit in the caves for prairie a while ago when I was trying to help a friend out
You are correct yes, you need a fresh server. Which can be difficult if not fast enough considering this game server jumps so much

The first time I tried it I just lit the 4 candles and went back, but I saw that the server didn’t change cause there was people in the distance. After going back in and lighting the 4 candles and waiting until someone else initiated the race cutscene, going back worked for me and we were the only ones in the rink.
Ofc it was done within 15 seconds or less, which is why I also suggested taking off immediately towards the cliff right when the rink loads

With this theory, the method posted by @upbeat flint should work perfectly fine as well. Going to the return shrine in the rink, waiting about 30 seconds, and using the return shrine at home to spawn in the rink should put you in a fresh server. Thus, allowing you to get that spirit.

That suggestion worked for me last time the valley was bugged/ locked, a few days ago. Ice ring portal, home, portal back.. repeat. Likely there is no one-solution-fits-all to bug, just possible ways to maybe get around it.

Both the race and the method I mentioned should work, as long as you are in a new server without anyone in it. Just have to be sure that you have a new server and did not join back to the previous server you were in, calling to see if there’s people always helps

You don't need to send in a CS ticket about the quest to relive today's spirit, that's why we have the bot message when you go to contact support, a topic in the in-game FAQ, a post in #known-issues, and broadcasts on social media. Every player will receive compensation candles. Once the candles have been granted, we'll update those same messages to reflect it. The candles will automatically be applied to your candle totals.

Ktjn, I clicked on CS in game early in the day before I checked elsewhere after I had tried the spirit several times. Then afterwards I tried some more, and then finally got the spirit to work. Is there some way I can revoke my ticket? I don’t want to waste CS time, and I would feel bad if I got a candle when I ultimately figured out a way to trigger the spirit to complete.

Yeah, that was before it developed into a larger issue with a broad impact.
Typically, if you're missing items or currency, you should try and restart the game and see if it fixes itself. If it persists, then you should reach out to CS because they're the only ones who can investigate the issue further. If it becomes a widespread issue, such as this spirit quest bug, that is when we put out mass messaging and will find a better solution than asking everyone to submit CS tickets.

Actually, I got it by exiting through the constellation gate and returning, flying backwards into ice rink. This was after I returned home, and waited far longer than 15 seconds to return... even tried other areas out for a bit before going back, etc.

some advice for today’s travelling spirit, sort of spoilerish, so tagged:
||as you carry the light, keep it under cover so that it doesn’t lose it’s charge. the timer will reset if it’s protected, or die if you allow the rain to extinguish it|| 😎

traveling spirits appear every two weeks so if you run everyday to every realm (for wax) during the 2 weeks, you'll be able to get up to around 210 candles! (and each traveling is around 110 candles so far)

The workaround is warping home and waiting a short time before resuming the level. It's not a 100% but it's worth a shot if you have the time to try and troubleshoot. Hopefully we'll have a fix out soon.

There are six seasonal spirits, each with a heart at the top of their tree. To get to the final reward, the hair, you need to buy the mask first, which costs 2 hearts. That leaves you 4 hearts for the hair.

If you did collected it during lightseeker but didn’t get any of the items there is a whole spirit tree to discover. Simply tap the sparkle button ✨ over his head. If you did collect all items there is still some blessings, one heart and a wing buff to collect @round axle

Been chatting with one of the staff and trying to tell them that there was a glitch in my seasonal candles ;v; and they say after resetting the number should appear back (the correct number of candles) but it hasn’t but on their end it says I have them.
