I still don't know how it's triggered besides that it requires the sapling daily and a figurine inside a shared space (but maybe it's specifically the shrine?). Been hanging around and testing out different things, and for this occurrence, I think I immediately reopened the shrine space after the sapling spirit offered hug and then left.

I figured it out! How to hug figurine during prairie sapling daily quest day:

1. Re-enter prairie
2. Watch the sapling spirit until it offers hug and then leaves (hug icon disappears along with it)
3. Open shared space shrine with figurine (beware that the mannequin prop in the same space will steal the hug icon if it's closer to the camera pov than the figurine)

I accepted Bellmaker's had, let them guide me at their own pace.
After a few seconds they stopped moving I got the spirit and me close to the shrine.
Opened a shared space (it 's from a friend) and just stood there, while the spirit made some expressions.
It took the spirit a bit but then the dailies was completed.
LMAO...didn't click on their head to get the dailies and spirit just took my hand again. Guess they want to explore around a bit.

But others say nothing worked.

From my personal experience since season of nesting, it's always been 1 double wax event per towards the end of the season. 2 embers part 1 is the first for me that has gotten 2 double wax events.

I don't know, it worked the first time for me and my daughter's, on both phone and Switch .Let the spirit lead you to the diamond, then lead them forward and click on at least one shared space, they then look at others (or they seem to) by themselves, when they have finished it is complete.

during events, you can buy a random dye from the spell shop for 10 event tickets (it looks like a water drop with a butterfly inside), i think they are trying to calculate the how likely it is to get each colour, so you could contribute by buying a random dye and telling (ping) cozuki what colour you got

Yeah some androids are sensitive to certain app's demanding memory / storage use that it would break down when it's unable to hold more than it can. That's why clearing caches and restarting usually helps. But it's also useful to take a good storage management habit like deleting unnecessary files
