giving this a second read, it would make sense that the whole group of spirits returned after such a long break away. considering that the traveling spirit system has this little piece of information that seasonal spirits need a whole season-in-between break before being eligible. a whole year is more than enough to say: okay, lets return and stay, but forever now 🥺

I’ve never gotten any repeat TS, I get enough time to get everything if I do CR everyday, and also I’m not much of a ‘completionist’ so I don’t mind skipping TS if I can’t afford it. I do regret being unable to purchase peeking postman cape but it is what it is

There's been 15 seasons, I wouldn't mind if like a week every month had a season's worth of spirits return. Would be easier to plan around, and it could be on a schedule so people would always know when × would come. When a new season enters, it would just be put behind the former last season and shift the schedule a small bit

not really. the # of players that can fit onto a coliseum server doesn’t necessarily mean that every server must accommodate that number. there were servers with three-digits numbers that were tested in beta and are now live, so they exist. when you consider how many players are actively playing and that many of them, from all over the world 🌎, purchased the wings, the # of players present right now is simply too low to be all

yeah it seems that there's still several concurrent concerts with varying numbers of players in each one none of which are filling all the way to capacity anymore. the last one I went to I had about 600 in my concert and other friends attending the same time slot had over 1000 and under 400. how many you get right now may just depend on which of the instances you wind up in. we'll probably still see some concerts be closer to capacity but the chances of being in the right instance aren't consistent

There are some really strange concert effects when you switch out of the app just as a song is starting— when you come back minutes later, it resumes the song where you left off, which means you might be the only live player in there… and then you may get stuck indefinitely in what would otherwise be a very brief transition afterward (lonely butterfly in the desert after “The Seed”, waiting for “The Eyes of a Child” to start which it never does)

It should be noted that Lazy Days is not considered a new event because it replaced previous years' Days of Summer and Days of Summer Lights events. Of the new events, only Days of Sunlight is expected to return, as the Kizuna AI event was a collab, and the Harmony Hall event was its grand opening.

A note on accessibility: The Sky community is better and more beautiful for all the unique people that are in it, but Sky can be challenging to play for our friends with photosensitivity, motion sickness, migraines, and other disabilities, as well as for those using controllers. On top of the existing accessibility challenges, many bright, flashy, and intense visual elements were added throughout the year that can make it difficult for some to enjoy Sky.

Not every change will impact everyone in the same way, so please be compassionate and understanding as you play, and let's continue to advocate for Sky to be an even more welcoming, inclusive, and diverse place!

Areas and Events

After the addition of Sanctuary's sea floor and trench (0.16.5), Days of Nature introduced a turtle and sunset to the islands (0.17.0). For more info, see Velvet's Sanctuary Turtle guide:

Harmony Hall opened in the Village of Dreams, allowing us to play most of the instruments in the game and try our best to complete a music sheet challenge for wax: https://bit.ly/SkyHarmonyHall (0.17.5). Soon after, a rehearsal room was added, so we could practice playing without interruption (0.18.0).

Shard events were introduced during Shattering (0.18.0), giving us the chance to earn extra candles or ascended candles and visit Shattering memories. Here's Nami's All About Shards:

During Days of Feast, a new race through Hermit Valley and the Village of Dreams was added (0.19.5).

During the Season of AURORA, we got to go to a concert with thousands of fellow players. Now that the season has ended, those with the Wings of AURORA cape can bring their friends to experience the concert again (0.19.5).

New Features
When Abyss started, Sky kids were given the ability to dive and find blue waterlogged wax: https://bit.ly/SkySeasonofAbyss (0.16.0).

With Shared Memory Spells, we can share short clips with other Sky kids: https://bit.ly/SkySharedMemoriesEN (0.17.0).

Along with shard events and changes to Eden, a crawling mechanic was implemented, causing Sky kids to crawl once they've lost all their light (0.18.0).

Elder masks with the ability to shield wearers from small amounts of damage can now be bought from some elders (0.18.5).

Map shrines that can help you find winged light or regular spirits that you're missing were added to most areas in every realm (0.19.0). For more info or for help finding them, here's Magica's Map Shrine Masterlist:

UI and Player Interaction
The constellation UI was updated in April, allowing us to sort and group favorite friends and see more friends overall (0.17.0).

When a season or event guide appears, we can now teleport to them in the realms using a node at the bottom of their friendship tree (0.17.0).

We can now translate notes (0.17.0) and messages (0.17.5) from fellow players that are written in different languages. We can also scroll to see more messages in the chat window (0.17.5).

Changes to the closet UI meant some cosmetics got regrouped (0.18.0).

You can now delete your account without going to support using the new option in the Settings menu (0.18.5).

Blocking should work more as expected (0.19.0), and you can also temporarily mute the chat of someone sitting at the same chat object as you (0.19.6).

Other
Sky was added to the Huawei App Gallery (0.17.0), and Macs with M1 chips are now officially supported (0.17.5).

you can't teleport to a player if their "instance" (the section of 8 seats they're sitting in) is full. the person you tried to teleport to may have had a full row. if it's happening with every single person then try to capture video of it and submit a bug report

the concert timing being off is probably due to the stability of your connection to the server. you can't actually beep while your camera is zoomed on aurora because you're unable to click your skykid, yet during that there's a lot of beeping skykids, they're just in a slightly different moment than you. your experience isn't actually live, it's relevant to your connection. so if you connected a few seconds later then your songs would start a few seconds later rather than your connection joining a song that was a few seconds in

uhh, this is for anyone who wants to do those info stuff. (data collection?)
i managed to get 100% completion for the light collecting thing for the yeti race by leaving my dummy sky kid at the start and warping back and forth to get all the light fragments, then wait for quite a long time and eventually the light thingies will respawn (they happened when i was holding/close to the dummy skid, idk if there is any correlation) then collect the lights again. i did this 4 times but i think thats overkill.
going into the 2nd stage the score will already be 100% even after rescaling due to the additional light frags since we collected more than enough prior.

The Early Pink Skies indicate that the area that's on the Schedule will have the Skies change pink to indicate that the Shard will fall in the area, but the Early Shard Skies is just a sign, and the Shard Event happens abit later

Everything is a massive step for games in general, and especially for sky. They didn't only choreograph everything to the music, and make a lovely experience, but they also had to make new functions for the models of every creature we turned into (to react to flapping, and the flying in general)

i think what really hit me hard was the mantas in the desert and then aurora rising over the horizon and holding her arms out towards us, wanting to bring us in, i broke 😭

It's an incredible game accomplishment, and I truly hope it gets even more recognition

I hope they make more events like this, I wouldn’t mind sacrificing a few details on peoples clothes to see just how many people are around us. Sometimes you can feel so alone if you don’t server merge, and this showed just how huge this community can be for such a niche little lovely game… ❤️ it was awesome seeing you all

Oh, and the “body language” of the two butterflies finding each other before that: “Oh! I’m not alone? Can we be friends? Yes! Yay we’re friends!” how TGC’s animators can convey all that with little blobs of fluttering light….

Considering how,,, rather barebones shattering was, I would imagine it took a LOT of work for TGC to work on even back then. While I would love more like it, I would love it even more if they had the time to keep all seasons to a good standard as well

That said, they now have the knowledge they didn't have then. Models and systems they didn't have then, and as time goes it will just keep growing

Yeeeees. I would have much rather shattering came a bit further in time from Aurora but we had a story to it. I get that they don’t want to add too much lore so we can have fun creating stuff, but it would have been the perfect season for it

They said they’re planning on one collab a year; considering the trajectory of TLP and Aurora, I expect whatever cones this year to make everyone utter emotional wrecks of sobbing catharsis

I had never heard of Aurora before (and I'm Norwegian LMAO) and I was like "eugh not my style" from what little I heard at first

That changed like 2 quests in as I wept

@tight depot I've noticed it happened for both collaboration limited edition seasons. Both had a decent amount of IAP's and limited edition items, so tgc ensures there is at least one limited edition item that is available for ftp players. The trade off, is they're candle $$. It seems to only happen with collaborative seasons so I think you'll be fine until whenever they do another
