TLDR: night home closets and forest social closets are the best for outfit request/reference work
I did this back in version 0.14.0, see that ranking here (#seasons-events-chat message)
the meta has shifted somewhat due to lighting changes

night home: 9/10, still the bread and butter of clear, reliable, and accurate references. use the pants closet for best light, other closets like the capes closet balance too closed. great visibility, can’t ask for better accessibility than this. minus point for flat metal rendering. dark grey background doesn’t drown out black cosmetics like other high entries on this list.

forest social: 9/10, truly a miracle glow up (glow down?). aside from a bit of blooming and leaning a bit too dark for the darkest cosmetics, forest social offers clear color and great metal rendering with a true black background. great accessibility. perfect for closeup references, clarity of detail is unsurpassed. mind the wind though, can make getting comparable shots of long hair difficult. the pants closet is my favorite here as well, good surface area on the full black background

gw social: 8/10, improvement here as well. great clarity but overall, light leans flat and still has a tint of green remaining. gw social is usually quite active though, which can be a pain when you wish to be undisturbed

dusk home: 6/10, great clarity, but color balances even more warm than in 0.14.0 (not accurate for references). why settle for this when you can easily switch to night?

valley social: 3.5/10, only a bit better than prairie. how the mighty have fallen, back in 0.13.3 and earlier valley social was the pinnacle of clarity and color balance. shared first place for “worst bloom” with prairie social, although valley has a hint of color accuracy left

prairie social: 3/10, lord have mercy on darker cosmetics. it’s workable if you know how to use zoom out color balancing, but for fast, reliable and accurate references please go anywhere else. the best metal rendering out of all closets, see it to believe it.

||office studio closet: 7/10, great clarity with minimal bloom, very good color accuracy and reliability. only accessible if you have the cape and it’s annoying to get there for single references.||

||orbit closet: 3/10, sure it’s pretty but why? the worst accessibility of everything so far if you don’t particularly enjoy just sitting in orbit. you’ll need to spoiler each of those fulfilled requests, have fun with that. the orbit closet stones don’t give you any camera focal length flattening which is an important thing when delivering clear references||

||eden social closet: 1/10, no. while it might deliver clarity, nothing can excuse the forced “struggling against the wind” stance the area forces you into. even when using emotes/sitting down to account for that, it’s a major pain. you can’t deliver clear full body references if you can’t stand still. similar wind issue to forest social. surface bloom present||

It's an afk center! It gives you small amounts of wax overtime(which can be a lot depending on how much wax you've already collected) it's not infinite however, there's other ones you can go to when it stops!
