I literally had a moth consistently honk at me in the mediation area, then proceed to speak gibberish. I was just like "why"

I learned the hard way (moth or veteran) if they start spam honking at you and pressuring you to chat when nothing happened before the encounter, they turn out to be unhinged.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that in the meditation area. That is so weird One of my moths from 2024 typed gibberish and this is reminding me of them. It's sadly getting infected by people hunting for attention.

Easiest trick is to fake a split as soon as someone give off bad vibes (switching on airplane mode, turning wifi off, or quitting the game).

This right here is a perfect demonstration of "Pokemon Trainer" behavior I consistently encounter from moths/butterflies these days.

I was lighting my stars. This player literally camped right where I was, to stealth light me. They spam honked like psychos once I was done and found them (didn't help they looked insanely similar to one of my current, also misbehaving moths). And had a candle ready out. My hard experiences taught me NEVER accept "instant friend request" candles and neither should you!

As an experiment, I headed off to Eden. Wouldn't you know, they chased me all the way through until I finally got them to stealth light me again while plant burning (I think the unlit player bug returned).

In that moment, in between their friend candle spamming, I toggled the report menu.

This player had ZERO IDEA I was reporting them!

The whole... like... 2 minutes or so I was typing out a detailed player report, they were still spamming and re-trying with the candle that whole time! Eventually they couldn't seem to keep up (or gave up) when I went up the tower then TPed Home.

THIS is NOT the first time a player camped near the constellation pad and harassed me, and this WILL NOT be the last time. I'm always mentally prepared to deal with this and I'm not afraid of pushing back.

But THIS is what I frequently deal with. Pokemon Trainers trying to capture "veteran" looking players with friend candles like they just spotted a shiny Legendary.

I'm sharing this story to empower others and set an example on how to deal with difficult players.

You are NOT obliged to accept every single friend request, ESPECIALLY if the request was done in a tactic as boundary violating as this!

So I have two new crazy people stories (will try to shorten them),

1st two clips: I was not in the mood of being lit at all... And this one player DID NOT take no for an answer at all. They chased me from Aviary all the way into the ice skating rink where I managed to lose them. I understand why people don't want to get lit up.

The Geyser clips: This player in Lightmending fit LOST THEIR MINDS over my Skysona and pursued me from up on the cliff, into the tree cave and back to Geyser spam honking. I don't accept friendships formed instantly over my outfit, that's not a friendship. When I gave a silent response a million times, they proceeded to throw a crying tantrum, beg, pout... Even when I tried drowning them out with music, they spammed their horn over my playing as revenge for declining. They tried a few more times, even looking for a Space of sorts. I reported this player for targetted harassment. They did the "don't go" emote then fell silent for the remainder of Geyser.

The keyboard isn't tied to the servers, which was the intention of the maintenance. It's more on your client side/ end unfortunately

What to expect from my candle runs
My runs aren't as optimised as they possibly could be, and I'm still improving as I only started using this route <t:1772006400:R>. These are probably around 2-5 minutes shorter than the actual times, since I sometimes pause when waiting for someone. The higher, more skewed data is from inexperience, Golden Wasteland treasure candles, large groups, or technological difficulties. Although my highest ever time is 1h & 37m, the higher end of my times are realistically going to be around 1h 13m. I keep records simply because I enjoy it. Updated <t:1775725683:R>

What to expect from my candle runs
I added new data showing what my times are more realistically, with my average passengers! I've been wondering why my data suddenly improved so much. That's probably around when I started pausing my timer while waiting for others. It's been pretty unfair of me to lie about how much time my runs actually take, so I started recording how much I wait on others! (<33 are all predictions.) This data is entirely dependent on how quickly the passengers respond. This way I don't sell myself short, and have realistic times. I'm still keeping my performance as the E.S.T on my runs, though.
