No shade to people who choose to do DD - I'm hoping to on one of my alts I moved for this season - but many of us already know the deal and aren't expecting to come close to any meaningful rankings.
Afaik, most people are just going to dial it in, so to speak, because of what's happened with every other tournament in the history of SoS.

They're just not something many players want to do because they're a waste of time when the end result is the same. Tournaments are meant to drive competition and thereby drive engagement and revenue, but most of the people I've spoken to have no interest in doing something with a predetermined end result like DD.

How many teams last DD just sat out and boycotted because of, well, everything?

So what's even the point when we still know how it ends? People will just do the same

While some have used a really bad analogy in the past, the issue with events like DD is you can only get so far.

In SOS we won't ever stand a chance of upsetting a top seeded bet, which regularly happens in sports. If SOS were a real world sport, 10-15 teams would be suited up in futuristic gladiator armor, while everyone else had padding that didn't pass the standard safety rating, but it's what we got and the association, front office and referees could care less.

Players know this, it's said quite differently, but at the end of the day this is what makes it so hard to get excited about many of these events.

There are no David vs Goliath stories in SOS where David wins and poor David was called onto the battlefield in the middle of the day when he was supposed to be tending to the goats.

I had similar "luck"(LOL...okay), but used foretell way more than I ever did before. At one point, I used to ignore this wheel/event entirely and even when I started using it I was doing it wrong at first.

Yes, indeed, in something that is useful at that moment in the game for each player. I gave the example of coins because that is what you earn in exchange for selling them, for example in the shared image.

Hyper-personalization has been mentioned in this channel for at least 11 months if not longer.

However, I suspect this creates several challenges to multiple Funplus strategies.

Their biggest issue to strategy is they give us WAY too much trash and if we recycle it all for useful stuff, even at a poor rate of return it really cuts into what bundles provide.

Less trash for prizes resolves some of the problem

That's pretty much it Cyan and what I specifically had in mind. With what stores and events already provide, the ability to recycle based on ones specific progress would impact bundles for sure.

Worse for them, it would affect spenders too, cos they grant tiny amounts of useful in the bundles and horrendous amounts of trash. So spenders would be able to double up on any one bundle and not need the second.

The correct realisation there though is valid values for the items. Don't tell people a $10 bundle with 1 selina frag is good and fill it out with a bunch of vip points and rss to say its good. Nobody actually believes this, but also they wind up with a ton of stuff they'd prefer not to have in some way

Honor store, migo store, Powerplay open all chests daily (gives ard 80 potion a day), saving migo precision chips, Doomsday store. Probably pearl store too, this can't tell yet.

They told they gonna put them into weekly store as well, but there they didn't appear yet (just like spacecraft materials shall be in dreadbeasts, but actually aren't yet). Might be comes with another update some day or they forgot they wanted to do. Like they forgot they wanted to slow down on events and like they forgot they wanted to make sure to release events at reset and not middle of the day and like they forgot they wanted to stop pushing updates during running events. 🫣😂

Sadly, it has little to do with the scale of the game and everything to do with the lack of version control and QA. If you have a proper play testing environment, many of these types of bugs wouldn't be present in your updates.

There are many instances they reintroduce bugs they had already fixed. What does that tell us?

Not sure if you are aware of this, but at some point (2012-2016) quite a few companies stopped doing proper QA and testing in order to meet more demanding ship dates.

If you search the channels you will notice many many instances where players gave feedback from PTR and the devs didn't fix it.

Right now, ptr is getting features which are going live within three to five days in updates, and that's never been enough time to reasonably test and repair anything.

So in my understanding SoS's scale is at a level where there are multiple pods (if not teams) working on the game together and each pod shipping their code without knowing a lot about what other teams are doing. So while a dev team works on long tail content like Spaceship, another working on new version of Nexus and so on... and then there's a liveops which kind of does regular events and other stuff, another art-content team which is dishing out skins, sentinels....and then an integration team which is putting all this art content together. And somewhere on top of all this a core team which holds the vision of the game.

So this kind of environment can have screwups. I mean, give or take SoS must be having like 50 testers, All working on adjacents to the dev pods they are assigned to. I can still see things can go wrong.

However you ar enot wrong about shipping with minimal QA, some times its by design, my day job also has also subscribed to that kind philosophy to an extant, it usually works.

I've already shared the idea of getting rid of KE in my state. Shortly after I started playing, I remember reading somewhere that mature states don't have KE, and that always stuck with me.

Then I learned last year some don't even do CC and brought it up again here last month. Weeks or a month of healing when you get hit by a whale is counterproductive to then having RR the next day and SVS the following week or week after.

Events where every troop counts if you're lucky enough to get equally matched opponents.

Essentially all in-state events are ignored after some time passes. CC is done just to get points, not really much fighting, just few rallies and sitting in towers. Bunkers/fortress have rotation. KE is at most hitting some gathering tiles because then there are no losses or nothing at all.

They should actually stop the KE completely after state is like 3 months old. Maybe little longer. Worst event out there, rewards never worth the losses

KE just never made sense to me. All this event achieved is give players excuse to go on a rampage which early on decimates state population. Before people know what is exactly going on, how everything works, or they forget to bubble, they get razed to the ground and leave the game

They I get burned by a rally then they said alliance you are in is #22 and it is not covered in the NAP, and I was like tf is NAP.

The KE serves no purpose at all. The state I was in that time got ravaged by KEs it couldn't recover. Still one of the deadest states in the bracket.

So the only possible explanation I got discussing with a buddy is that....
Game has introduced a new stat called "final damage" along with Tempest S3 it is not "hero final damage" so I guess its a cumulative damage by all heroes (or may be some more entities) we dont know. I need to check at MKR.

Now on virtue of having higher morale, one gets Bonus damage, for Heroes, Aircraft and Behemoths. This directly gets added to you existing damage buffs, like if your cumulative Behemoth dmg buff is 12% and Morale induced bonus is 17%, you will get 29% Behe dmg.

What will happen if its given twice, like once on Behemoth dmg % and then on Final dmg%.
That will make anyone with higher morale OP and that will instantly bridge any deficit on Behemoth powers.

MKR doesn't dive deep enough into how they actually take effect. They see it for what it says based on the information they can pull from files from the game.

But seeing something as 15% damage bonus doesn't mean
1000% + 15% = 1150%
Or it could be
1000% + 15% = 1015%
Or it could be
1000% + 15% = 1000.15%

I know how sos does airplane upgrade calculations based on reverse engineering their formula.
It holds true to stats and skills as well.

10% dmg bonus on 25% HFD will make it 35% AND not 27.5%

Thanks for this. My morale had stagnated and against the advice of some well meaning folks I bit the bullet a few times this morning to complete a few sets and raise my morale by spending pearls. I can always get more pearls in the future.

So, a recent issue I had was, strategic deployment that was attacked 3 times and still existed on the map because the owner left it unclaimed and was a crummy alt. It remained there for 2 days until they logged in.

So.
That got me to thinking. Here's a list of all the things in a state that prevents someone from moving to a specific spot.

• zombies
• fiends / dreadbeast
• Strategic deployments
• duel territory
• alliance buildings / towers
• terrain - mountains / rivers
• player hq
• player camps

So, I got bored. And my little brain did a few little things

Well, did you know.
In an old state where alliances have a very few limited towers to build.
It requires Less than 800 players with 6 marches, in their own separate max level alliance, strategically placed buildings to block out an entire state from anyone being able to teleport to anywhere on the map 🤔
Did you know, if a state did this during svs. They would have 100% svs victory 😆

That's without any potential variable like zombies or strategic deployment. If those spawned perfectly, it could be accomplished with less than 500 people 🤣 the absolute weakest state in sos, could theoretically defend against the absolute strongest state in the game.

Mining works different... You get drops after you have little more than 1h of collection time. So extreme example- if you always collect more often than 1h passes you will never get a single item drop. Funnily max is 5 drops because for some reason it needs more than one hour so 6h max time makes getting 6th drop impossible

SOS math is a combination of knowing how real world math actually works, and doing idiotic mistakes in calculations.

100 + 15% on a calculator isn't the same thing as 100 + 15% in excell
Because one is adding 15% of base number
And the other is adding 15% to the base number.

Same as in a calculator
100 + 15% isn't the same as 100 + (15%)

Also, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. It just takes someone with a little bit of knowledge, a little bit of free time, and a little bit of tests without variables to give you all the required information needed to reverse engineer a formula.

Damage is attack × lethality.
But where's attack amp come into play. 🤷

Oh, yeah, I answered you about the 6 hour thing already, but here's a better more in depth answer, and also, here's the thing with the 1 hour time when to claim it.

Yes, mining tycoon goes off of idle hour, but its different cause somebody used the wrong symbol. 🤦 They wrote it as idle time > 1 hour.... Not as, idle time ≥ 1 hour. (or they simply made it 1 minute after the hour 🤷, which still fits this, but doesn't fit the way they usually make mistakes)

So mining tycoon rewards you'll notice appear at 1:01:00 / 2:01:00 / 3:01:00 and so on.
But come hour 6, when you get maxed, you almost never actually see the 6th set of rewards on the idle rewards screen because the idle timer only goes to 6:00:00 not 6:01:00
But when you claim it, you'll have 6 hours worth of idle rewards, at least I always have across all my accounts big and small and almost invisible ones cause they're so tiny 🤣

This has been like that since the introduction of this event.

Pinball event is like jungle gems.
So, it doesn't matter at all in the least little bit when you decide to claim those 2. So, you can very easily set an alarm or timer based around mining tycoon, and whenever you claim that events idle rewards, go claim the other 2.

Is it far fetched to assume that funplus that never really gives feedback here have figured out that several of us have been running Tempest farms for ascensions by doing jungle gems, Pearl events and slot machine for free making gear we sell to our main using things we get for free in those stores? It was only a test by chance and we noticed late. We were testing gen S actually. with mos/mof in gen 4 we noticed similar weird results though. But maybe we 2 are no good testing partners with tjose differences😆

Not for me. I remember a occasion years ago, where we couldn't cancel a bunker rally, when we had to port to a bunker, instead doing from hive. The joiners could port. But the rally lead couldn't and was stuck

The way i did it you can port when burning settlement or cancel when its already marching, but this was through he main war screen

And just now i did another settlement rally and when i click on the march directly and then click recall does the option for 2k bios recall work. But still the porting issue when rally launches is dumb, let us do what we want. Because people can burn if another rally is launched on them while they are waiting for their rally to hit

I think it's a bit ironic, peeps complaining that 5min rally timer is too long. They actually listened and added 1minute. But now alot of players are only thinking themselves with infected lvl6s (or 15s in nexus) so they run also those with 1min timer solo. Leaving a lot of teammates etc without fiends. I don't think they are adding soon more of those. They should, but... At the same time they should replace alot lvl1 mines with lvl9s tbh.

Rl, DD, the matching system hasn't changed.
Only the change in adding second off groups and upper bracket vs lower bracket.
But DD that had this before, same matching format.

They could add in a 3rd tier like koh. Middle
And I'll give you with probably 80% accuracy, if not more, the matchups of alliances.

Last DD, I knew 98% of the matchups for the top 256 before the matchups were released.
Then it was just a matter of eliminating who I thought would lose.

14 of the top 16
7 of the top 8
4 of the top 4

I highly doubt, much will be different this one, unless people decide to sit out that registered, but I highly doubt that because they want winning rewards knowing they can win. They want the glory of winning and making it as far as they can, they wanna make a name for themself if they haven't already, etc etc.
