Ok I read your points, I am not quoting anyone but yeah I get the collective gist, and also undertsnad Future's frustation about CM not opening up to players
in all we are speculating about the reasons, arent we?

Having bigger pool is goes against logic cuz there are far fewer players in older states compared to one which would go though gen-skip. The older states whales dont have long-tail content (behemoth, aircraft, FS....) left so they only engage with new heroes/events and simply send materials to furnace. They would remain powerful (compared to news state whales) just by staying mid-spenders

Newer states' whales are finishing long tail and haven't got a breather from spending, putting them through Gen-skip is very risky, because the reason I mentioned above about prime-stats, they could never win against old whales, and when they wont win they will quit, they wont spend to get gen-skipped heroes which is not the only thing between them and old whales.

So this whole thing goes against the common logic, is game trying to keep low- spending-old-whales by sacrificing new ones which is spending continuously?

Sorry, my perspective covers only whales' bit. Because as a mid spender i perfectly know how time plays a crucial factor. I am from 1111-1128 bracket originally, which later expanded to 1057-1128.

I can clearly see similar players like me from states which are just 3 months older have advantage over me. For F2Ps, 3 months mean nearly 300k more troops and so many iterations of behemoth challenges and events that would make them ahead than compared to F2Ps in my original bracket

Yes it wont effect you at all, because like I said you (or your whales) have reached end-of-content(long tail), events. newer stuff is what you spend on, and even if you dont you will be more powerful than newer state, say 850.

I think if this (pool-brodening) is the ONLY reason, fight becomes much easier, we unite the whales, in state which are inching towards disaster called gen-skip.
Let FP figure out what to do with dying states , but just because they are dying, we shouldn't become lambs up for slaughter, we want to pace ourselves.

Gen skip will always be at a disadvantage really cause they'll always have that gap between gen 13 and gen say 19 (in this case). So they are missing decent heroes for any marches after the first two, that is until you get enough new gen to keep pushing older gen into your 3rd, 4th march etc

Yes, style is recent, but you gonna be making your marches in style, at least first 2. Other R'trded thing which came is that they designed style the way that G10 onwards, heroes of same gen wont have same style.

And then simultaneously they f'd up with Ray-drops for your current-gen heroes.

In all this shiz, you gonna drop gen-skip on our heads which we are still spending on behes and aircraft, just cuz you want old state whales to play and win, its absolutely ludicrous. You can imagine how bad it is. 😄

Tbh I just don't think they have anything to show a successful revenue stream doing that, as they do from doing generational skips and creating environments wherein spending is nearly a requirement to remain at a competitive and high ranking (in terms of the general ranking tiers for all or most desirable events).
With gen skips, they guarantee newer states will be more likely to spend, with less willing players opting to either slowly die off out of the game, and then they can offer transfer and mergers so those spenders are matched with other spenders.

And in the grand scheme of the age of certain features and the varying rates of growth across states within the matchmaking pool, not only would those previously mentioned spenders have an in-borne set of fish to feed from within the state merge/transfer, but they're guaranteed to be more inclined to spend further by being someone else's food in general matchmaking.

Idk if that made sense. I'm very uplifted

Personally, I think there should be more separation between states in regards to matching, but I'm not certain how to go about that with any degree of infallibility. There's always going to be some sort of issue, and the devs will always be using these things to generate revenue, so where is there a happy medium where the players aren't being shoved together for a one-sided bloodbath, but competitive and high-ranking players aren't facing the same people repeatedly? Additionally, how would such a thing work to generate a consistent, if not improved revenue stream while also being a continued asset toward overall player growth, without compromising mechanics for merge/transfer (assuming groupings are also recalculated at every 3 month mark)?

There's too many things to consider, and I lack the patience to really think about it today lol

Age of state, Hero generation, MIGO version -- in this order, are already established separators, if you blur the lines between them, there will be consequences.

If we didn't have style issue, or issue with Ray drops, it will still matter, but at least you have a sureshot way to catch up. Like you jump to G20, all 3 heroes are of X style you get them all and also get G19s in side via epic hero search or other means.

But no..that will be too easy.

One of the glaring problems with that is what Udham mentioned.

Many spenders in most all alliances I have ever been in eventually leave if they keep losing and their spending isn't amounting to anything.

We see this in any state with the strongest players always congregating to the top 3 alliances. They know it dramatically increases their odds of winning events. People play things to win, not lose.

Are we really saying players at a disadvantage are going to keep spending so old state whales can just keep crushing them over and over again?

I'd be shocked if people decided to stay to what basically amounts to cannon fodder for F+ to serve whales.

They gave too many of the 1 skin tickets out, they almost went bankrupt hence they stopped the event before

Gen skip is flawed. It makes matching for SvS ok, sorta. Cos mostly 1 march there counts. But for koth and RR which are more frequent its not going to work when you face off properly leveled marches from gen 21->15 vs your march 21 and then your marches from 12->9.

Takes a lot more organising in RR and koth is a dead loss. SvS leaves your leads very open to HQ hits as well. Maddies gen absolutely destroys gen12. Its no contest.

The problem is the fix comes much earlier in a states lofe and the devs want to follow some stupid routine. Purple heroes, gold heroes, everything up to gen12 needs to stop existing at this point. Dev needs to start from 6 gens back in any state and they have increased abilities to get capsules and potions right up until they hit current gen.

How the devs do that i don't know. But the love affair with normal development up to gen12 then a big leap needs to stop, its the complete wrong way to do it

The huge jump in strength from 12-13 is horrendous, agreed. There are some ways to help prevent this in RR under support. But this then forces leads to lose the additional perks for helping being a garrison leader.
Koth theres nothing to help there, just wrong matchmaking, all gen skips of the same caliber should be put into the same pool for at least three gens so they can play fair.
SvS, only good news is 90% are returned. However you’ll have a long waiting time with enlistment.

You need to consider all other variables.
Solo defeat/victory.
Rally Defeat/victory.
How big was the difference. If the victory is tremendous - inflation of numbers.
What you faced and so on and so on.

When it's a new season you play it daily for like 2 weeks straight on all 3 attempts till you hit 7000? Then it just becomes play properly once per week on Monday if you care for rankings if not just change to one current gen hero and other two heros to weak ones to "finish" an attempt asap with minimal effort for rest of week

It's not really any effort to be fair, tedious sure but for rest of migo it's easy and passive rewards

For old rays I don't remember personally, I just know I could level current gen heros at least and not be forced to upgrade older gen and get scraps for current.

It was way more more than just one or two potions up until 7K because we also got the First Completion Rewards, but that's only potion. What about these other items?

1. Every play gave you a chest for Hero Profile > Items. Where do those now come from? Refer to SS 1.

2. Every other play gave you a "make up chest" of generic items to apply to your gen skipped characters. Where are we obtaining those? (I don't have a SS of this - none in my backpack)

3. Completion Chips?

4. Does Gene Links and Genetic Reformation now replace 1-3?

When you add 6 Gold items, it gives Gen 19-20 293,934 BP. This had been increasing every other generation, and gen skipped states were at the biggest disadvantage since they could only get generic items for gens 13-18, which were underpowered even if gold when compared to the heroes naturally obtained items in a non gen skipped state that had hero challenges for those characters.

If F+ had stayed this course, by basic incremental math, around Gen 25-27 or higher, the gold items alone would be around 1,000,000+, which just so happens to be the base BP gain on advanced genetic recombination.

What happens when you apply that same math to the 450,841 BP from gen 19-20 heroes completion chips since those were also becoming more and more powerful with every other gen?

Completion Chips alone at LVL 20 are 382,091 BP more powerful than the base Gene Links before ascension.

i think that’s the main reason behind Apex, to push skins/statues/deco etc on joiners and low spenders. Its amazing what crazily dumb setups people have, purple behes but all the statues and a weak resonating hero

and one blue, one yellow, one red hero… it isn’t so visible in other reports/battles etc, and joiners dont solo so often but Apex shows it all up

They appear to think top level surveys should only be on the main SOS GUI, which seems to be for satisfaction and collab surveys, both useless, but that's not the point and I digress.

I wish they would consistently decide one centralized place for them, so we wouldn't miss important surveys such as hero challenges.

Maybe that's by design, because if we do sentiment analysis on the Discord channels/server, F+ rarely listens to what players want so I'm not sure it's believable they would do what players wanted in a survey.

The math is right there, in plain sight, and funny enough that was my second time typing that as the first got pasted over by me trying to help an alliance member and losing the first thing I wrote, which was exhaustive and had even more numbers.

They were always going to take hero challenges away due to a conflict with profile items and completion chips once they introduced gene links and genetic recombination. If they kept ascending those like they previously did, it would be in constant conflict with Gene Links and Genetic Recombination.

Step 1: Remove Hero Challenges, while not making genetic materials and Gene Link materials readily available to drive lust for them and later help FOMO.

Step 2: Release bundles, but probably at initial prices only whales can afford and the bare minimum through events for F2P. Just enough but not quite enough, you may need to play multiple events and you better hope they don't get recycled - Ah, the temporal dark pattern rides in on it's dark horse...

Step 3: When the next big thing is on the horizon, reduce the price or put them as "big rewards" in events, full well knowing what's coming next will ensure whales stay ahead and there's something grand to chase.

Rinse, repeat.

When writing my response last night I went to one of the Gene Links and clicked "upgrade". In the snapshot, we can already see what green > blue is giving.

68,750 BP x 2 = 137,500 BP, which you can see on the right in the SS.

If the math is x 2, 137,500 will be 275,000 when made purple. That leaves a 18,934 BP difference between Gene Links and 6 gold items for the scrapbook.

That will be obtained and surpassed by going gold.

Any difference left and then more will be had through Genetic Recombination but as we can already see with the lack of materials compared to what hero challenges provided in completion chips, potion, exclusive crates and crates to help gen skipped characters with generic items for the scrapbook, FunPlus is removing this so they can most likely sell Genetic Recombination bundles, add those to event bundles and the same with Gene Links Bundles.

To a degree, I agree with that, but compulsion isn't about willingness. Whales can be compelled to spend in high amounts by the subtle pressure of their roles and team, whether intentional or not.
And with some VIP GMs saying things like "your team will miss you, I'm sure" when a whale decides to reduce their spending, it doesn't help.

That said, there are also plenty of high-spend players who enjoy that position and have or would use it in a less community-positive manner.

This just reminded me of something I saw from the NY Times from some game developer discussing how the push for better and more realistic graphics in platform games resulted in less plotline and story development. Except when he was speaking, he phrased it to sound like devs did it for us, the players, rather than in the interest of branding cinematics and selling aesthetics, and we should feel bad as players for demanding that because it was so expensive for the developers.

There's always someone willing to spend more money, play a little more nicely, not demand as much, etc. We see what has happened when some high spenders get tired of how they're treated within the demographic, and it's been shown that their investment only goes so far before the devs just kinda shrug and focus on an up-and-comer or a yes man.

That's how it is in a lot of titles like this, unfortunately.

If I had to put myself in corporate shoes for situations such as has happened in the past - wherein a highly visible and known alliance has expressed their unhappiness with developmental decisions and outright attempted to utilize their combined spending power and public presence to affect those decisions - I might play ball with them for a little while, depending on what I was intending to release in terms of cost and utilizing their influence to generate revenue.
But after a couple times? Nah, there's likely someone much less of a liability in that regard who could net me - a corporate entity - more profits and less problems. Especially if the alliance is someone who has received negative public favor in a ripple effect of previous issues such as suspicions regarding tournament matchmaking (as a completely random example).

If I were a corporate entity, I wouldn't be able to make much use of someone(s) generally not receiving a high amount of public favor anymore. Heck, perhaps I might consider that alliance even more of a liability, because instead of generating the competitive edge needed from other rising stars and veteran ranking alliances in matching (and also in terms of things like transferring/migration), those teams simply opt to stop trying with sentiments of match-fixing.

That, as a corporate entity, would negatively impact my continued revenue streams from other competitive alliances; the very same revenue streams which may be in excess of what one single, well-known and competitive alliance would bring in themselves.

Why, I might just wash my hands of that alliance and subtly intone "do it, I dare you".

But I'm not a corporate entity, so all of that is sort of... Meh.

As I understand it, companies earnings across a number of industries are severely down post Covid, with the reasons being no fault but their own.

FunPlus for example kept piling on events, requiring even more of users time, somehow ignoring mandatory RTO for many employees across the globe.

Trump's "new america" is about to be hit especially hard as they prepare to do what Elon's X and several big names have done to force federal workers to RTO.

Then, you have Amazon. A late survey in 2024 showed 48% of those surveyed had been looking for employment elsewhere as a reaction to the mandatory RTO that started on January 2nd, 2025.

Some in my industry and related fields thought Amazon was just leading the charge in job postings for no good reason, not realizing Amazon had early data showing just how much of an impact their RTO would have on the company. Anyone in my field and others have a pretty good idea of the ripple/trickle down effect FAANG policies or strategies have on the wider range of tech and even non tech companies.

What does this all have to do with SOS? Well, 5 days a week in an office with managers being even more hawkish on accountability of hours, and "impact" means their will be less time to sneak in a little game play here or there, meaning if FunPlus continues to ignore players concerns around event timing or the overwhelming amount of events simultaneously, they can expect even far less engagement not solely due to P2W, but because players simply do not have the time.

Seems we weren't the only ones caught off guard or didn't prepare for the massive lie that was "this is the new normal". No it wasn't.

There is a small number of players here that realize most of SOS is no longer worth spending on because the items will be obsolete in 6-8mths, or won't have the impact it once did.

Then, you look at the spending in my current alliance and the one I left last transfer, and there is a massive disconnect or difference between ideologies on spending. Both have never stopped their spends no matter what FunPlus has done.

At times I feel there is this unspoken rule: As an RL, you must consistently stay on top of your A game, which means buying EVERYTHING FunPlus releases and never questioning it.

One of the best battles I have ever had in this game was in Mining Mayhem where so many players were at the same level/strength we just kept knocking each other out of a building and laughing about it (both sides) in the chat and joking to see if someone could hold for more than 30 seconds.

It helped that everyone was so respectable and didn't take themselves too seriously.

I wish instead of deleting hero challenges soon, they would have made a small change like how flash duels is. If you beat a level with "X" amount of hero health remaining, then the next 2 levels (the 2 chances) for the day are completed for you
That would have been a lot better.

Hero challenges only sucked when new heroes came cause it was 3 times a day to progress to get on the same pace as everyone else for potential leaderboard rank.

And, A lot of people think you need to do it 3 times a day every day forever.
But you don't.
I had this talk with someone from another alliance just a few days ago when they heard it was being deleted.

They didn't know once you beat level 7000 you could just do it and kill 1 zombie (which is the damage for max daily potions rewards) and try to die 😂

So yeah
I wonder how many people voted to delete it because they think you have to do it 3 times a day everyday regardless what level you have beaten 🤦

1. No need to have the message appear for days after the event is over, a result of non-participation. I'm not going to guess why this is the case.

2. If X percent of players are not participating, consider conducting a survey that isn't botted that F+ intends to take seriously, or simply remove the event.

b) better rewards
c) I don't want to play this event at all

If they choose c, you can figure out the conditional logic for the follow up question or hire a researcher to design your study but this isn't rocket science

Select all decreased your in-game time by X percent, removing it increased your in-game time by Y percent.

Later, F+ will claim in some report, most likely for investors, that "in-game usage has increased by X percent", not telling their audience they did so by introducing a temporal dark pattern.

Probably hero challenges have tuning issue.
They feel tough for my gen of heroes.
I dont think anyone has eached level 7000, and we are already at end of G10 here.

Its just like Flash Duals, for 6-9 months players will find it difficult to beat elite or even normal ones, they even have a help system where you can ask allies to help you those who are at same level or have crossed level.
As soon as they get Behe, Choppers, G7 heroes, it becomes easy peasy.

F---plus have put the ground slam chaps on a timer post spawn. So if you keep them off screen for any reason they'll still use their attack

This hero challenges was the first time I've gotten to 7K without as much waiting as last gen, as I was advised as it seems to reset and get easier during some game plays. May also be the layout.

On final boss stages, I win a little over half my challenges and on a certain layout that allows me to set up the tesla towers and Strings puppets in a certain way, the final bosses don't get very far before they're killed.

My main constant is Maddie, then Strings and Chef as support. I use the latest generation hero as required by the game and the strongest hero that I have, didn't need him to be fully maxed (or red hero)

Breezed through the hero challenges fairly easy (choosing the right buffs too help)

Duncan Mia boomtail + strings + chef, my boomtail isn't even purple brain 😆. Beats levels running full auto but boomtail sometimes dies because devs have heroes use skills when nothing is around 😆

I switched out strings for Courtney. It's like joker but different 🤪 I have joker but meh. And all my heroes were alive at the end of the battle.

It was fun playing with a few combinations. But, that all goes away soon.
