this has got to be the perfect timing for a movie poster challenge... i have been just doing a poster series to learn about netflix's 3 body problem effects and here are some of the results, feedback appreciated 👍
thanks to @sonic flax for helping me out with the third one

Glad it worked out... and fantastically at that!
Vals' DCC 4: Mirror Effect: I tried but couldn't actually create a butterfly using my design the way Val recommended. But, I did end up with something. 🍻
Sci-Fi Movie Poster Design Challenge
Whipped this up in an hour waiting for the kid to finish her dance class. If I had more time, I'd take the time to make his arms hang down, but a quick puppet warp got it close enough for tonight. It's FAR from perfect, and could use some more color correction, but hey - always learning!
Sci-fi poster, needs a little more work
Sci-Fi Movie Poster Challenge: I've been playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 lately, so this was the first thing that came to mind.

Challenge 05/April 24: It is not Peekaboo Cutouts but Icon Cutouts. I used textural image and applied BM to have this worn wall. I did this illustration on Ps using Kyle´s brushes and did this animation on Fresco since mobile Adobe Express seems having some issues with migrating .psd file. The advent of generative tech enables more rapid ideation and prototyping of layouts. Pair this with Photoshop's powerful tools for manipulation, such as the Remove Tool, Masking, Advanced Blending, Adjustment Layers and you have a design powerhouse that fosters boundless creativity. This synergy between generative technologies and pixel manipulation features empowers artists and designers to thoroughly explore possibilities, to pivot quickly and ultimately bring their creative visions to life with unparalleled speed and efficiency.

Great de-hazing George. I'm just perplex about the "flare" (light burst) at the top.
It catches my eyes and it's a bit distractive. Did you made it on purpose? Love the added contrast! Nice job!
Nice edit Robert! The way your recovered details in the sky is really impressive! You nailed it!👍
As it's a work in progress I would suggest you to use a darker background image for the Neon effect challenge. Really hard (almost impossible) to get a great result on bright background. You might try to darken your brickwall with a Level adjustment layer with a white output around 60-70 set on Multiply blending mode.
Give it a try, your effect should be improved! By the way: great job with the cables!

Love the idea of stylized bats! Great job Robert!
Thanks for the feedback Franck, this was a fun challenge.
I did the brush with help of Symmetry Tool and used grayscale instead of all black and white to eyes and mouth. To paint, or in this case , stamp with a brush used styles you use a new transparent layer for each style. It's the style which determines which colors you brush get. You can only use one style/layer.

@hollow yarrow your poster piqued my interest in what “sit amet” means (thinking it was French) and I learned that “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” isn’t just Latin gibberish - it means “the pain of an average man”. Is this common knowledge in the design world? And am i just oblivious?
I just didn’t want to use the same title than Val and took « Sit Amet » rather than obvious « Lorem ipsum ». I knew Lorem ipsum things was from latin but since I didn’t learn latin at school… I don’t know what does it mean or if it means something.😉
Don't try to find a meaningful translation! It is and remains a meaningless string of words whose content should not distract from the layout.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum
In publishing and graphic design, Lorem ipsum ( LOR-əm IP-səm) is a placeholder text commonly used to demonstrate the visual form of a document or a typeface without relying on meaningful content. Lorem ipsum may be used as a placeholder before the final copy is available. It is also used to temporarily replace text in a process called greeking,...
That’s what I’ve thought all along. I guess not everything on the internet is true! 😂
The timeless classic 'Lorem Ipsum' as recited by a distinguished gentleman.

Before Original photo by myself | After AI gen
More like the original Fountain of the Four Rivers, iconic landmark designed in 1651 by Bernini, located in the famous Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy. Thanks to AI gen, did Rom got a new fountain 😂
Did you use “remove distractions” to take the people out? It worked really well!
Yes, it worked great Hugh, I also used expand but as you can see is not accurate AI generated can give you surprises.
True, but you have to look close to see the imperfections. Where was this photo taken?
Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy June 2000, with a Minolta dia film
The beginning of the original Latin text is cut off, and there have been various alterations and deletions. The original text, from Cicero, begins, "Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit..." and translates as "No one loves pain in and of itself, or pursues it simply because it is pain." There's quite a detailed history (and a better translation!) here on the lipsum.com website, where you can also generate paragraphs and pages of dummy text.
Thanks! That is pretty interesting. Seems a lot of thought went into filler text 😄. I have seen the Bacon Ipsum website which is pretty funny
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @verbal prism (current: #454 - 3)
It originated w-a-a-y back in the early days of metal type, certainly before the 16th Century, because it was already in use by then. And you're right, there are a bunch of hilarious lorem ipsum alternatives on the web!

PsCC 2024-44 Family Photo Postcard host Hoch
put together from 6 different photos shote different year with different cameras and seasons and lightings.
Looks pretty rough
what do you mean?
@wary swan You want the dude on the end to look almost blue, while everyone else looks.. kinda normal'ish?
also, the dude in the white shirt has a very saturated face while the rest of him is a definitely just regular lighting; Lady with glasses has some chunks of hair missing; Lack of any shadows is not doing this card any favors. The adults are placed about halfway up the image - the rule of thirds wants to have a word with you
"God Jul"?
He's Swedish, I believe. So "Merry Christmas"
Is this for one of the Photoshop Creative Challenges? If not, please post in #📝project-feedback
PsCC 2024-44 Family Photo Postcard host Hoch version 2
corrected the missing hair and ad some shadow, color correct the blue , the rule of 3 is with reason.
It looks the same
the shadow is very subtitle
@wary swan Let me now if you can read this and if it's right. I used AI to translate. "Det ser grovt ut" betyder vanligtvis "ser ofärdigt ut" eller "ser dåligt ut". Det är inte en bra sak. Vill du förbättra det eller frågar du samhället vad de tycker om det som det är nu?
Du kan prata med mig på vilket språk som helst, jag kan få det översatt till engelska.
Hi @wary swan
do you find all the optimisations? Do you like them?
😊
@dull jetty I see 5 - most notably two quite necessary color corrections
I compere with my second post I can see 2 changes color correction, you optimizations look great but you don't know the story behand the peoples you have overdo the left one.
… but you don't know the story behand the peoples you have overdo the left one.
- Exactly, we can't know that. The picture tells a family Christmas story. You have not added a different, explanatory story, although the ‘false colours’ have been mentioned several times.
- You have placed the picture in a feedback channel. Without further explanation from you, 99.9% of the time you will only receive hints and help on technical execution.
- Feedback: technically, there are several problems in the image:
- a) The matching of the colours and the brightness of the people must be urgently adjusted.
- b) The resolution of the individual images is too low, if possible rescan or use images with a higher resolution.
- c) The cut-outs are very inaccurate. On the one hand, parts are missing, on the other hand, far too much has been ‘left out’.
- d) The head at the bottom right is extremely distorted. Either this happened during editing - or the original image was already like this and the distortion should be significantly reduced.
- e) A slight ‘shadow cast’ brings life and depth to the composition. Then the image doesn't look quite so flat and pasted on.
Those would be the most important points of criticism.
On the positive side:
- a) You have chosen/designed a very nice border.
- b) The background is well suited to the theme and the Christmas mood.
- c) The font and font design look harmonious (even if I personally don't like the speckled blue drop shadow quite as much - but that's just my personal opinion)
Finally, an image in substract mode, which clearly shows the changed image areas between the two images. All bright or coloured visible areas have been edited.
Thanks for you feedback I really appreciate your tips and tutorials. This is what I call constructive feedback.
It's is really fewer how take time to give real feedback, before was it more usual to get a feedback, compered to Illustrator server is it nearly dead here. How did you do the subtract mode??
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @dull jetty (current: #25 - 86)
I very much appreciate your words.
The ‘Subtract’ mode is not actually an independent mode. It is the blending of two similar but slightly different layers in the ‘Subtract’ blending mode.
The original and reprocessed+merged layers are directly above each other in the layers panel. The upper layer is set to the ‘Substract’ or ‘Difference’ layer blend mode.

This is actually Creative Challenge work so I'm in the right channel 😃 there of the naming of the post PsCC-2024-44 because this is Ps challenge # 44 this year. I been member in this server for over 4 year, so the only time I post in right channels is then I forget change from previous post if post in a different channel.
Ok.
😅
Nobody seems to feel responsible for this channel at the moment. That's a great pity.
I actually only popped in here by chance - because I'm normally happy to help with questions about technical realisation (how to). I'm not really suitable for creative or design feedback.

That the same for me, I total self learned at the creative and design, my background is on the technical side of program. But a challenge is always fun, sometimes can you hit the nail on the head.

PsCC 2024-45 Magical Holiday Custom Brushes Host Hoch.
A Holiday gift from me, 4 brushes 2 normal 2 stamp 2 sizes.
In this image I used a my brush as a "normal" brush in the BG and as a Pattern stamp brush with a patten in the foreground both with motions blur
Stamp-Brush example left with Style, right with Pattern. To use this stamp brushes you must use Pattern stamp tool and combine with Pattern or Style (layer style) then you use Style it is one style/layer. I used 3 different styles also 3 layers to paint. But the you use Pattern you can have different pattern on same layer I used 4 patterns,.
If you look at images in your browser do you see any special effect in one of the images?

That's a lot of hard work, Hugh! You managed to put snow beautifully over the ground. If I were to add critique - I'd say you need to add more falling snow. More, more and more snow. Also add more snow over the roof of the house. It's Chrismas!!

Hi Hugh, Good composition. I specially like the way you blended the two images together. The choice of images was also good - shadows are all on the same side. Plus the way you made the snow fall in, and the darkening of the sides. This looks good.
But, I believe you can still play with the brightness and contrast settings of the final image that you put in the globe. With it, I think, you'll get more from this image.
Thanks, @last mica that’s great feedback. I thought I added too much brightness as well, and after looking at it, I think realistically the inside of the globe would be fairly clear and not hazy like it looks now. I appreciate your feedback.

Rendered out as bmp file and put into Photoshop to get light balance in Raw Camera Filter. Next used Lightroom to dodge and burn picture, along with bluring the background with AI blur tool. Then placed back into Photoshop and placed a with layer over the picture and then rendered clouds and blurred the cloud with gaussian blur tool and reduced the fill to give atmosphere to the picture.

Display the soda and combine multiple product images to design a stunning, surreal floral scene,
Nicely done, @wary swan. I think you matched the colors and lighting well. It’s not obvious at all that your other flowers were AI generated. I might increase the brightness of the can or decrease the brightness of the flowers just to make the can stand out a bit since it’s the main subject but surrounded by some distracting elements. Not a show-stopper, but maybe just a little “extra”
Thanks for the feedback Hugh, I will tryout your suggestion.

I know about the rounded thing but only got this photo of me 😂 but what you mean by “distorted” ?
If it’s by using the lens correction ft I’m using it a lot here my head is really BIIIG compared to the original 😂
This is beautiful. What if you tweaked the language a bit to say "When did you last give a rose to your mother? Wife? Girlfriend?"
I know has nothing to do with design, but I think it might hit the reader a little harder by emphasizing the "last" time they thought of their special person.

July Challenge # 1 - Design a Mental Health Poster. I deviated a bit and used my own photography instead of Firefly. But I'm going to use my image(s) to create something similar using Firefly.
I put it on a mockup.
PsCC-2025-25 Design a Mental Health Poster #Arabela
Great idea to put the poster in a mockup here is my variant
This looks great! I like the text effect. I wonder if you could lighten the background (flowers) a little to make the text stand out better?
Just my opinion, but for the mud flap (great idea, by the way), I’m wondering if a white or black background would be better? To me, the peachy-color just doesn’t seem to fit with a semi’s mud flap. 🤷🏻♂️
Wow, I love this, and the mock-up is fantastic with the patterned background. I wonder if this could be even better if you darkened the text just slightly so there’s more contrast? (Just a hobbyist’s opinion 😂)
Love that! Font fits well the background image and subtle blur add a nice touch. Nicely done!
Well done! Love the message!

Well done Beccy! Just a point: It's hard for me to read the first one (perhaps because english is not my first language) but make sure the effect doesn't hide totaly some letter and make the text unreadable... Second one is fine!
Anyway! you did a great job!
Great work Franck love the color pallet, and I see you have use the layers style
PsCC 2025-26 Remix Self-Portrait disp.mask 20 20 the text is still live as long you make smart object of the text layer
PsCC 2025-26 version 2 I added a shadow to the shirt, and increased disp. mask to 30 30
If it the Magazine mockup you tray to do , so are the nothing more to add but you can do the Union text more legible, as now is not readable, it get lost in the background. One tip you can use #🙏🏼challenges-questions next time you have a question about the challenge.
Nice work @wary swan ! Looks like you have some haloing around the subject on both. You could use select and mask, try a different blend mode, or maybe edit the selection. Your displacement maps look way better than mine!
Thank you. Yeah, that's why I did two. I knew the 1st is unreadable, but the example was like this, so I thought it was just for decoration. Maybe I ought to resize it or something. Anyway, it says "a wall is a wall and nothing more at all. It can be broken down."
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @hollow yarrow (current: #9 - 854)
Yep I had guessed the "be broken" text...
I know, I can be picky sometimes 😉 .
Great improvement Robert! We can see how important shadows are. Nicely Done!
It's OK. I post stuff to get feedback. Especially the readability, because I know what it says, I need someone else's POV.
Thanks for the feedback Hugh, I was a little lazy for after I had don everything I find out I didn't change the size and resolution color depth, so I did it after to get everything down to normal size for Discord, After I done that the blue shirt look like "the war of the ants", so I had to use gaussian blur to smooth the ants. Hey guys
Hi everyone - I'm new to the challenge. Check out my work! What do you think?
Awesome design Leigh! I love the colors! Super fun aliens, Sam!
@celest nebula design looks great! lots of eyes...
Hello. I'm Nancy Merrill. Hope everyone is doing well. This photo was from a recent newborn shoot where the big sis wanted to get into the action, too. Hope everyone has a great day!
Welcome @surreal plinth ! What a cutie. Thanks for sharing! We are excited to have you in the challenge.
Hello and welcome!! Thanks for sharing Nancy 😃
Hello! My name is Jen - I a, a marketing student! Cannot wait for this challenge! Here is a packaging design I am working on for a brand project!
@random flame Nice. What are you using to render? Might want to try a little more contrast and some highlights (brighter) to seperate the package from the background and make it stand out more.
What do you guys think of this as the back of a business card for a music school? (I know it's not centered, I would upload a transparent version of this to the site, and center it there.)
I love it!
Thanks @spare verge
np my friend
@vestal basin Would the card be black? or white? I think it would look cool either way, but personally think on white would be awesome.
I was thinking black, but I could try white @tawdry notch
This is what it would look like white
@vestal basin think just personal preference. black card stock, maybe glossy, or raised graphic could be cool and really stand out.
I think I like the black better too. Thanks!
maybe black on the outside and white on the inside... maybe it'll look good? I'm not sure... just a suggestion
Nice thing about Photoshop is its easy to play around with different idea. Just put on different layers, or use adjustment layers
For printing it would be pretty neat if the card was printed matte and then the shape had a coating applied to it
Made this last night, thoughts?
looking good.
Nice one 👍
Nice!!
@green crow woah! what program did you use?
Did this last week. Looking for feedback.
Illustrator for the cross and Premiere Pro for the glitch effects and quick moving binary 😄 @sterile bane
Also makes a cool wallpaper
Nice @peak warren ! I'd kind of like to see how the text looks if the color was changed to white. Might be a nice repetition of the white of the flower and balance out the image a bit.
Thanks @bleak fossil. I will try again with white text when I am home. (Funny thing about having Discord on my phone. I can get feedback but not act on it.)
a recent banner I made, thoughts? 😁
Very cool! Nice integration of the various images, looks good! Only critique I might have is there's an awkward tangent between the left figure's chin/lower lip and the Manchester logo in the background. I'd personally try moving the logo to the left so that his face overlaps it a little more. Maybe to the point where the "M" is hidden just slightly behind his chin. @quaint token
@bleak fossil Definitely noted, I will work on that and thanks for the feedback!
No problem!
Well done! However I'm not quite about that blur/glow though. Is there a specific reason for it?
I'm a graphic design student doing my HND looking to gain a degree at Uni. I produced this album cover as part of a course project done at the end of last year. How could I build on the design, or are there any changes/improvements to be made?
Been working on this reimagining of basketball teams as football teams concept. I am exactly halfway done with every NBA team at this point.
Main goal is to try and not incorporate any basketballs, so reworking established logos has been fun.
@woeful rune really cool concept and project!
Any feedback would be much appreciated so that I can further my work
@green crow I like that a lot. The GIF does not display correctly in Discord for iOS. At least on my phone. On my laptop though, it's fine.
@obtuse marsh I love that you chose to display the packaging this way, but it is slightly hard to understand. Now that you have the design, I would focus on how you tell the story. If you were thinking about this in a professional setting, you would likely need to present this concept to a client for approval. What could you do in how you present it, that would ensure they love it?
I could present it in a 3d mockup, or maybe as a full size printed item? Would printing the record album be suitable for client meeting?
I'm really digging that design, fam. What's the font you used? Might be a silly question but I've been after one like that for ages @obtuse marsh
Thanks so much @peak warren I've had issues with GIFs in iOS as well. Must be a Apple thing aha
Also, it could be fun to see this graphic mocked up on different colored backgrounds with variations on the typeface!
I think a 3D mock-up would be awesome!
I used Didot LT Pro, Bold Italic @green crow
When I was doing my development I tried a few different ones, those being Apple Chancery, Khmer MN Bold, Zapfino, Apple Myungjo. Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Mincho and Kai @thick owl

I will probably be re-working some of the type layout on the front and back, and getting this printed for my end of year show. Thank you lcooper for helping me with the presentation of the item itself, will definitiely be useful in the show!
@woeful rune I would love to see a Knicks one
@hushed rapids this was the first one I ever did, but I will be revisiting the knicks before I officially call the project complete
I think it wold be cool to show your process @obtuse marsh
of choosing the font
You should create a behance project to show the whole process :)! But in terms of the design - I think it's really fun.
Sounds like a plan, I think I'll try and get used to BeHance with this cc challenge and try and understand how to use it
Is there any reason it should be at 90% quality?
@woeful rune very cool!
it helps with the page loading
ah ok
I know we haven't got the Breif yet but she said Games and Photoshop so i made a cover photo. I always miss the live stream cos i am commuting . so here is my start 😃 #PSDailyChallenge
#feedbackfwd

Have fun creating stuff people and ill catch up with you all later 😃
@rotund lark this is awesome!!!
Hah very nice @rotund lark !
@rotund lark I like your use of that fill pattern, the one that signifies waves (I think). Subtle.
@rotund lark a Photoshop Mario, love it!
I did this for Valentine's day.
I did this for a poster practice challenge
Awesome
Very nice - great sense of depth, and the perspective logo really points the eye to the "main attraction" 😄
hi
Welcome in for the first day of the challenge everyone! You can request feedback on your designs here, and if you get feedback we encourage you to pass it on by giving feedback to others!
Ok, no feedback needed. Just for fun.
lol, great use of layers. A+, no critique possible.
Hey guys, this is my first Ps daily challenge, I would love some feedback 😄
looks awesome but i think that font face could be better 😉
Thanks @dusty thicket I will take a look at more fonts 😄
AdobeFonts is a great place to look for fonts
They've created really cool curated packs that really help when you're stuck or need inspo
Thanks @young karma 😄
@coral stone I like the dark shadowy background which makes the Game Night text pop. As you play more with different fonts, I'd encourage you to play with some overlapping of design elements, leveraging the power of layers.
Feed back on my first day. 😀
Thank you so much @pastel spade, I'll work on it 😄
Nice job @coral stone ! A couple random tweaks that could possible help: I think the blue smoke in the background could go quite a bit lighter, to create some more contrast that you'd see in something like the attached image. Also I thinking moving the controller shape up a bit might help the composition. I think if the yellow lines went up further, and turned inwards towards the text rather than getting cut off by the smoke that might look a bit better too. Just some random thoughts, nice work 😄
Hey y'all, here is a logo I made for my youth group. Wanted to convey the message of launching into the unknown.
Ah nice, I do love a good logo 😄
it seems the discord bot wont allow me to post my image?
Amazing! Thanks a lot @bleak fossil 😃
Ooh, very nicely done @subtle hound I really like what you did with the composition and colors, great work! I think maybe the small text could be a different font? For some reason the current font doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the design, though I'm no font expert so I'm not too sure. Maybe something with slightly more structured edges.
Thanks for sharing @subtle hound! I like the image and composition a lot. I know Comic Sans is not a crowd favorite, but (dare I say it) it doesn't look too bad here. You might want to try moving the 'Board' up slightly to avoid the O and the G from overlapping, it might be intentional but feels a bit distracting to me!
Trying to keep it as clean as possible, while hitting nostalgic inspired notes (zack morris if you're reading this I love you)
@woeful rune Love the color! Definitely communicates retro and fun!
@woeful rune Awesome design and colors! I love the type choice and contrast. My only critique is that the T in retro comes across slightly as a 'z" -- at first glance. It could be interesting to make the angle different or overlap slightly less.
very saved by the bell indeed!
Oh my goodness, I love it @woeful rune . I need to go put on a Saved By The Bell marathon now. The right side doesn't seem to quite fit with the rest of the image as much in my opinion... I think it could be interesting to try to add another swirl duplicated in the background underneath the big one but at a lower opacity, just to give it an added layer of depth the rest of the design seems to have. Either way that is awesome 😄
You should totally submit it! We're actually reviewing submissions on Adobe Live today! ( https://www.behance.net/live )
Nice job @rain hazel ! I think the solid hand/controller shape on the second one is a good choice, gives a more solid read and stands out from all the background patterns. My only critique might be to try lightening the background a bit. Currently all your values are fairly midtone, and that might give the image a better read with a stronger value range that makes all the other shapes pop a bit more.
@bleak fossil Still playing, but I think this is better without so much wasted space
@rain hazel I like the sword you used for your title background
Thanks for your feedback @bleak fossil , what do you think of this variation?
Oh, I like it. Much stronger read in my opinion! Great job.
Nice work Brian! Love the 16 bit font and strong contrast 😃
thank you @bleak fossil for you feedback. Yeah, I know I could go through front for hours.😀 love them
I'm having issues with my font - spacing in between letters is too much. How can I fix this so information can be more pronounced?
thank you @uncut ginkgo it looks way better that way. 😀
I'm glad to be doing this again. I hope I can do it everyday throughout. School... Here's my simple invite. Feedback welcome.
@woeful rune Love yours!
This might help you Lisa! https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/line-character-spacing.html
Learn how to set, adjust, and work with line and character spacing in Adobe Photoshop.
@short isle check the tracking settings, and play around with them to help with your spacing
Thanks @uncut ginkgo! Can always count on you 🤗
Thanks for sharing Trixie! Good job! I like the colors that you've selected as well as the typographic hierarchy. It would be interesting to see what it would look like with more consistent typeface treatment. Try limiting yourself to 2 fonts and only solid colors -- it might improve things!
@short isle Have a play around with the tracking and leading 🙂
It is mediaval game in futuristic NY. Lot’s of action. It is also a rave. How about the cut out?
Kerning* and Tracking
Thanks @uncut ginkgo . Actually, there are only 2 fonts. They look different a bit because of the bold on the pizzaria name -- I think that's what the issue might be. Should I refrain from changing the font from regular to bold for consistency's sake? Or is it some other aspect of the fonts that is the issue? I can easily change the font or colors. Thank you.
Cool invite lani! It is somewhat tough to read 'rare game' and 'game on at' -- I think you're in between breaking the mold and playing by the rules.. so I would encourage you to push the concept even farther. Maybe you could repeat the 'rare game' text up the left margin?
@stiff depot quick edit: "Pizzaria" should be "Pizzeria" also, play with that text in the bottom left corner it's hard to read. Can the "2019" move up to to the date? Nice work, esp. on the cutout of the hockey player!
Of course! I see now, Trixie! I think the bold works for Tony's Pizzeria. I think what it is.. is that the PLAYOFFS and Pizzeria are both very bold, where the date/time feels 'sharp' -- I'd just keep exploring type weights and placement. Just a suggestion but maybe Tony's Pizzeria can be moved down and to the left (so it doesn't overlap the player's wrist) -- you could remove the name/date stamp also.
Ok i understand. How about this?
Hi everyone , this is what I have so far for todays challenge . The picture of Scorpion is a digital painting I did not to long ago in Photoshop. What are your thoughts? 😃
@severe dust Spelling! Oy! It looked kinda wrong, but I didn't check it. Will fix right away. Thanks. The stuff at the bottom left is my "signature" so it's more of a glyph than something legible. Thanks for the compliment on the hockey player. The cutout wasn't too tough.
Great invite
Excellent suggestions, @uncut ginkgo . I'll fix it all up and post it to my Behance. I really appreciate the feedback. (And I didn't know the signature counted as a font. Sorry for any confusion.)
Cool work @urban granite ! And lovely illustratrion, that is super good! The Tuesday 05/19 is a bit hard to read in the left column like that. Maybe you could prioritize placing that in the right yellow column (make the first box slightly longer and remove a little bit of text from the second). I personally feel the black background to the left of his shoulder give that area of the design room to breath, I like it!
@stiff depot happy to help and excited to see your update! Keep going, you're really doing great!!
I'm not done but wanted to share my work in progress!
@errant gazelle thanks for sharing! The board game and drink background feels very fun. I noticed it says BYOB but you've used two wine glasses (that may or may not be spilling wine on the board games 😛 ) -- could be interesting to play with BYOW(wine).. keeping things fun. As for type, try removing the drop shadow from the font, it might make it more crisp! I'd also like to see more space between Games and Snacks provided and "BYOB"
@wet river awesome glitch effect! I love the glow, subtle controller, colors and type. Bravo!
Bring your own Beverage 😃
Not finished yet, but I'd like some feedback on what I've got so far
I like the spotlight look you got going
I hope I'm invited Marley! Great invite!
Here's my go at this weeks challenge. Loving all the different styles by the by
Just a quick reminder -- as you share designs in this channel, please give other designs feedback!
Really digging that @vivid maple love the long shadow effect that highlights the patterned background
Those are some epic prices Joy Officer! I love the "Gnarly Game Night" and how the bottom half feels like a game dialogue box. It would be cool to add a ". . ." to really drive it home .. no game dialogue box is completed without a good ". . ."
@vivid maple I really like this one! I could totally see that as something that would be used for a game night, I think maybe you could make the grey a bit darker?
FYI we are also providing live reviews at the end of our Adobe Live streams today and tomorrow -- you just have to share them with the form on the challenge tab above chat: http://www.behance.net/live
@vivid maple I like your style!👌
really nice @vivid maple super clean. Maybe if that yellow appeared in one other place? Even just a hint of it.
Thanks everyone!
Thank you @uncut ginkgo for the suggestions . I made the changes you and it definitely looks better.
@urban granite love it! Can you center your font in the yellow space provided? It's awesome!
Ok final draft - ...
My work for day 1! Loved the font haha
super mario here?
Hi @vivid maple I like you poster so far. Have you considered making "night" look more like how you did the yellow on "game" I like the look of the more detailed yellow drop shadow.
@short isle nice collaging! Where's the wine glass stem go? It's more noticeable when you moved it up
Hey guys, I made some changes based on your feedbacks 😄
@urban granite I don't think I fully understand what you mean but I'll see what I can make of it
hey can you suggest some improvements i can make to this?
👍
maybe move "march 9 beers on the house" a bit down since nothing else is that close to the edges
Here is my Day 1 Challenge - Layers - Game Night
Updated with feedback 😄 Changes: Added "A" prompt on the back box, Added "...", Added date, added white outline, Make glow bigger on box
@vivid maple Sorry for the confusion tired college student lol. I found a good example of what I was trying to say hopefully this helps. Something more like this but in the direction you already have it. Let me know if this makes more sense.
@urban granite so basically giving "night" its own shadow, right?
@vivid maple yep!
On it!
@uncut ginkgo & @severe dust I fixed the fonts and took out my signature (which clearly didn't fit), but then there was this big blank space where my signature went. Filled it with a pizza-puck. Tony would be happy. I hope it's better now.
@vivid maple this is one of my favorites so far. Its very simple and the the yellow on black is eye catching and helps get your point across quickly.
@blissful badge nice
@stiff depot Pizza puck!!! lol. That "playoffs" is so much more legible now! Very minor, but if you revisit, maybe Initial caps "May"
@modest prism thank you, I'd hoped the contrast would be eye catching 👍
@stiff depot i love the pole! Really cool detail
@cosmic magneti love the simplicity
very fun!
@fiery pivot very stylish ! Love the colorplay
Hi Guys, let me know what you think.
@fringe wigeon The color palette is so nice and soft, feels vintage-y! I'm wondering how it would look with that navy color somewhere in the text to break up that block, otherwise nice hierarchy there! Another thought, I like the flat look of the joystick image, but it feels like it contrasts with the "glow" border, wonder if there could be more relation between the two elements? Maybe a more graphic border. Just an idea to explore.
@young karma Thank you!
@severe dust oh 😦 I faded it on purpose I'll move it back - thanks for the feedback
Betrayal is a board game where you "build" a haunted house using tiles, so I went spooky with mine. Even made my husband into a ghost!! 😄
@short isle as a workaround maybe you could even clean cut it so it looks like a stemless glass
@blissful badge That's Great! love the colors.
please give any feed back Im new to these challenges put have some experience with photoshop thank you
@cosmic magnet really like your design the light avocado green with black is really popping out to me -- clean and interesting like it a lot
@vivid maple the underlay under the yellow is so cool!!
@green crow The texture and background are great - I would love to see the typography tightened up - Maybe its the font - It doesn't "command" a game night tone to me
@urban granite The painting is great and I like the font for 'game night', but I think you should try some different fonts for the other text, I think you can find something that goes better with the image!
To introduce myself, Hi! I am Senior Graphic Designer/ Creative Director at Power106 in LA
@coral zodiac there is a thread for that! #👋community-intros 😃
TY!
@stiff depot I love it! Pizza puck! ha!
Hello I'm new on this challenges but I have long time using photoshop, I would like to challenge myself and read some feedbacks from you guys
@pale pivot that looks really good! really nice font selection and colors. 😃
really loving how you are incorporating the different games and the neat 3D like effect you have with the light
Anyone know why my Bechance project doesn't appear in "most recent" unless I click on the search query "graphic design" - but all of yours are there without that filtered? I tried leaving it blank but it will not allow me to do so
sorry wrong room
Those colors!! @pale pivot So good! The screen is so white hot that it looks like everything it emitting from the top of the device, I wonder if color or the color lines interplayed with the screen a little bit more? The font on "party" is great, but the "r" is reading as "n"
Day One done
Hey guys, I wasn't very happy with my other version, so I decided to create another version, please feel free to comment 😄
Starting to feel done!
@wet river I totally get a "High Score" vibe looking at this
@woeful rune hmm, what do you mean by 'high score'? 😛
like its what gaming as a kid looks like in my head.
everythings bright and just fun
Like when you beat a level and the game is still showing in the background but the announcement pops up to tell you your achievement
aaah, cool! thank you 😃
I always tend to go really colorful, especially when I'm designing for myself! I added the pink bars to make the text more clear, I think that helped a lot!
Same on colors
I submitted this earlier, but it was pretty rough around the edges - literally - so I cleaned it up a bit and, hopefully, made it a bit more clear that the 'diamond' is supposed to be 20-sided dice lol. Thanks in advance for taking a look!
@wet river I really like the VHS feel on this, and great color palette
@coral stone I like this new one you made it's very clean and simple. Maybe make the yellow bars red instead to match the red bar along the bottom? Or make the bar at the bottom yellow to match the yellow bars? Very nice tho!
@grim frost I see we have same taste in colors, haha. I like yours too! the small text on the bottom is a bit heard to see, maybe try a more clear font?
Thanks @gray badge 😄
@grim frost This one does look a lot smoother and now that you said it's a dice I totally see it! I don't play games that use that type of dice so it didn't come to mind first, but I can see it now. I really like how your dragon image wraps around that dice, way cool.
I've played some DnD so I instantly recognized the dice iconography, because I've seen that type of dye simplified before!
@wet river ahaha yes that lofi/vaporwave vibe. Thank you so much, I definitely will play around with the font styles. @gray badge thank you so very much, I appreciate it greatly! TBH I don't play D&D myself, so I'm kinda flying by the seat of my pants
@wet river ah yay that's a relief!
gradients are look really modern right now so that was a great choice!
Your feedback is welcome!!
likewise with the geometry in your piece, definitely feeling it!
here's what i got!
vaporwave just keeps popping up in the mainstream more and more!
thanks @coral stone and @hot reef i'm adding in the time...probably an important detail! 😃
I got feedback on the Adobe Livestream and they seemed to really like it! aaah, so excited about that!
yes! Well done @wet river 😄
Our guests will review more submissions later today (and tomorrow). To submit your work, check the challenge tab on https://www.behance.net/live
Really fun to get positive feedback like that! I'm currently working on my portfolio and haven't gotten much feedback on anything I'm working on, its hard to determine on your own if what you're doing is good or not sometimes!
@hot reef hey I like the idea you're going for here, but I would suggest playing with the layer styles on the font to possibly help it stand out against the background? that or try a shape layer with the fill of a gradient of color + transparent just behind some of the text? Whatever the case, helping the text stand out a bit would be cool, but even still it's lookin fun
@pale pivot very clean looking poster
Tell me what y'all think!
Thanks @grim frost ! I really appreciate your feedback!
I am a little bit late, but will leave this here
@tropic dome amazinng👍
@strange heart cheers
I made the smaller text bold and think it looks better now.
I love the colour palette
1st Challenge - UNLOCKED 😬
Here is my 1st iteration. Your feedback is appreciated
@vale pumice i like your fonts, you used for vr and game day ... jelly
What do you guys think?
You should work on integrating the image on the right more and use more complimentary colors.
i like pink and green
Yes, but use different shades. Pink and green is fine just don't make them both neon
You know this is a joke, right?
I see
The comic sans is a nice touch
Highly recommend adding some rainbow color to the comic sans to ensure 100% meme quality
@peak warren Thanks the Background is a pattern i made from website backgrounds . https://www.toptal.com/designers/subtlepatterns/ There are some really nice patterns here
@sterile bane Thanks 😃 I had fun making it
Feedback for this? hit me!:)
I like the fonts
My first entry!!
@vestal basin "graphic design is my passion"
@glacial path I only saved it as a png and closed out, but I should have.
@young karma some nice font selections! Check the tracking on your boxed text, every line seems to have different tracking and feels a bit inconsistent. You might not need "welcome" twice. The bokeh background gives it a night feel! Cool!
What do you think?
I think it's a clever idea but, I feel it could use a little more color and contrast to make the words pop more. I wasn't able to really read it until I blew up the image.
Yeah, you are right. I used the original font and color to stay close to the source. Didn't have a good idea to pop them out
you could maybe keep the type the same, but the physical keys are a different color? @cerulean bay
@cerulean bay Heidi beat me too it. If you color the keys there will be better communication.
Also, maybe you could still have a headline "Retro Game Night" that's not in the keys, but the details are in the keys
use that white space!
thats great feadback so far, thanks all!
Opinions please!
Wow, I like that text treatment on "Games Night"!! Think about using a design grid for placing your blocks of text, they feel a bit random. Nice work!
I'm Really liking to see all those entries.
Can't wait to give this my twist tomorrow. :)
@cursive pawn the texture of the type is nice. I think the date gets a little lost. It took me a second to realize it was the date.
Nice! @young karma the spacing is much better!
@severe dust Thanks for your feedback!
Would love any feedback.
@severe dust thank you so much for your help:)
@rugged totem Thanks for your help1
@rugged totem Oooh nice. I'd say make the control a shade or two darker. It almost gets lost in the white background in the bottom.
@raven sage Thank you so much!
@modest prism top invite. Cool and simple
@rugged totem sleek
@hot reef nice colors and very neony
@grim frost amazing design! Very now
@cerulean bay clever! I'd love to see some more color in the BG, unless the goal was to keep things very clean and graphic
@vale pumice LOVE IT!
This is my Game Night Invite for today's challenge.
@cursive pawn love the old arcade pic. if it extends to the top maybe make the cyan slightly transparent.
@gray oak fornite + no kids?!?! 😆
@rugged totem Really cool! I would work on hierarchy. Each element has the same size so I don't know what to look at first. Game Night should be the first thing I see. The game controller gets lost with the grey on white. I would try to center TO between 5:00 and 10:00PM? Maybe see how that looks...
Thank you that helps alot.
My pleasure... awesome colors
@gray oak Nice very game realistic!
Day one! Going for an old fashioned advertised invite. Please comment!
@sterile bane Tanks a lot! Yeah, I'm not happy with it right now. Have some ideas but to late here in Germany 🦉
this is super fun @lone hare My main feedback is that the typefaces are a bit hard to read.
@thick owl Thank you! I am limited to what I have on my work computer =\
Attempt one at day one
Thoughts and feedback would be helpful. Thanks
Game night design, what y'all think?
Looks cool. Text is a bit hard to read
thanks! will correct that
@ruby zodiac I like it! Don't change anything.
@ruby zodiac nice!
Gamenight redone 🤔
@lone hare Love it. The rough edge to the photo is a great detail. I love the font. Which font is it in the green & yellow shapes? (They're not word balloons, but I don't know what to call them)
@humble blade It's hard to read the IF in FIFA, against the hand of the left player. Maybe a black border to the letters?
@humble blade thanks for the update! the text is much more readable. Here's how you can improve it even more: I wouldn't add transparency to the layers in the foreground. People usually aren't semi-transparent - well unless they're ghosts 😄
Thank you @glacial path I'll update that 😃
My games night draft. I think I'm the only hex-and-counter gamer on this thread. (smile) Comments welcome.
@peak warren cool theme you've got going on there! Great idea with the hexagonal grid ^^. The only thing I would add is maybe a tiny bit more breathing room for the text inside the black borders. Just a few pixels so that comma on the left isn't touching the image 😃
@glacial path Thank you. I looked at the letters and not the punctuation, oopsie.
Hey everyone, any design feedback would be appreciated🙂
@ionic iris That looks great dude!
this is my submission for day 1. it's a bit simplistic, as I am pretty new to this and I haven't touched photoshop in a while.
all of these submissions are looking great!
@true nova Nice! One thing to consider is that the blue text on back background might be a little difficult to read for some people. might want to try something with alittle higher contrast
well done @true nova ! The blue font would probably be quite tough to print because of the surrounding black, but since we're not printing them it doesn't matter ^^. I mean technically you can't rotate pixels like this when doing actual pixel art but I think it totally works in your design!
@quaint goblet I like how you removed the backgound behind the boardgame! It can be quite tough to achieve a realistic edge especially when the object is slightly blurred but you did it! However, the edge right here looks a bit off. maybe you could find a different image where the entire board is in the frame so you don't have to cut it off
I was thinking of something like that! ill take another look at available images
more like this
of course you would have to move the text 😃
Cool font by the way 😄
Semi-off-topic. I love how the invites have all different date and time formats, because the class is global.
Here's my submission. Your thoughts?
This is my submission. Please give me some feedback.
Im trying
Updated! I changed the picture and edited the layout, added the corner on the left (a bit messy, but it works), and spot brushed and blurred the middle of the four squares!
@wary ermine OK, this is only supposed to be design feedback. But that was hilarious.
@gaunt hill Why do you use И instead of N?
@peak warren im just looking for some feedback
Hey there! here is my submission for today. Feedback welcome. Thanks.
I published on behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/77148261/Daily-Creative-Challenge-Game-Night-Invitation
@wary ermine I love it. To be a bit picky, the BG has arcade games and you are talking about gamers who don’t leave the house. But that is pedantic.
lets just call it irony
Day 1 - game night is gonna be lit. Not sure if I’m done with it yet. It may be a bit too bright still or I need more shadows by the board games.
Photoshop - Day 1 - Game Night Invite
Day 1 Challenge! Sorry I'm late to the game, I work during the day and only just got to it. :)
The background texture and the controller asset are both from Pixabay. Didn't have time to build my own assets for this bad boy. Might come back to it at a later date to make my own, though, cause I'm pretty pleased with the overall look. Let me know your thoughts!
Hi everyone! Here's my challenge submission for day one. I had a lot of fun with the wordplay on this one, and of course, I enjoyed designing. I tried to add some blend mode elements behind the lego characters, but I'm not sure if it's helping. Let me know if you think it's too distracting. Thanks for taking a look!
I really like that Jessica 👍
The grey part seems a little off, it distracts from the clean design. The half tone is perfect with this. Great job! @swift stream
Hey! Can someone give feedback about my work?
Hey guys, different timezone here, I'm about upload the project to Behance. Would be glad to read some feedback from the community.
@trim field I like it a lot. Two things. I like how his head is cropped by the top of the frame. I think his elbow should be cropped in a similar way. Right now it just touches the edge of the frame, which looks weird to me. Second, I don't think the carts on the left add much to the image. The board games look like 1965, with maybe Sorry being later. But video games are of another era. (Is this too nitpicky?)
@plain sparrow love this. Neon skee ball!
@foggy spade I dig the hand drawn look to this. Nice work!
Took this photo of a friends car recently while driving in a tunnel. Edited in Lightroom but then added the text in Photoshop. Spacing might have been an issue but I overall like it. Other thoughts on it?
Day 1 - Game Night. Feedback?
@raven sage nice but some of the text is a little difficult to read. maybe look at using some colors that provide a little more contrast with the background. or maybe try a glow around the text.
@young karma people respond to times and locations even if they're listed on their own - to save time and space you don't need to label these items on a poster (: play with negative space and grouping information together instead of spacing everything out evenly!
@young karma and good choice with a sans serif font! looks like Arial or Calibri - I'd recommend branching out next time, there are a lot of awesome free fonts to download out there!
@foggy spade Okay.
@dark nexus love the vectors! the joystick and galaga ship add a great vibe. awesome placement with the text and alignment with the ship, plus caps/lowercase variety. only thing left is to include a time!
Thanks @foggy spade I forgot the date 😣
I see a couple retro game nights, but here's mine
@foggy spade Very coool design. I love your use of color, and composition. My only small critique would be to make the smoothing in Photoshop like 90% so your lines are more smooth if thats the style you want to go for.
@modest rock Very nice design!! So nostalgic! I wonder if ihe red text in the (brown background) would pop more if there was a black text or shadow under it to give it a bit more depth you.. but overall, this is amazing!
@dark nexus I love your so much! Very good placement of text and colors. I think the only thing I notice is that it isn't fully centered. Like the space on the left isn't the same as the space on the right.
@foggy spade Really original artwork, I love it. I would only work a bit on the margins, and reduce the size of the whole content to give more air.
Made changes to the text's color and tweaked the placement of the words in the middle a bit.
Thanks @lyric dome you are right about that. Dropped a ruler but it was wrong, sometimes the snap function gets a bit tricky in PS 😩 I will correct that. Thanks again for the feedback
@dark nexus All good man! I've had the same issues lol
Ummm I know this is suppose to be a Photoshop challenge but I've been loving Illustrator lately. At least I stuck with the invite / flyer kinda theme.
Nice @knotty sail ! One thing I might suggest would be possibly simplifying your color scheme a bit more. Usually it's good to use a few colors and stick to those throughout the design for consistency and readability. Things can get a bit chaotic and busy looking with too many different colors. Illustrator or not, glad you joined us 😄
Day 1 - Game Night redone
Very nice @raven sage ! Solid design and nice improvement over the previous one IMO. Nice work.
Nice job @modest rock Very simple and effective, that's a good idea.
I think I like the first one a bit more @young karma The second one feels a bit chaotic to me. It might also be nice to see some of the smaller text maybe have a color to it. Maybe something from the image, like the blue light or orange fire light. Or even just lowering the opacity ever so slightly. Nice work!
This is my photo submission for Day 1 about the Video Games. Feel free to comment on. 😃
It's interesting that most people here think about a retro game night 😂
please give me some feedback, thanks!🙂
@gaunt hill 👍
What do you think?
Day 1, really pleased I managed to pull my own assets in. The lady was doing VR in a mall in Beijing China (I was there in November 2018) so I had to use her 😃 and the background is a sunset in China during the same trip. I drew the shape behind the text with the pen tool, turned it into a shape but couldn't figure out how to change the colour (I wanted white but couldn't figure out how to do it so turned the opacity down and changed the text colour). Thanks for checking out this newbie's work.
So, for this challenge, I mainly learned how to create a background using a fill pattern, which I'm pretty proud of! I didn't pay attention to the text, since I'm at work. Hopefully you like it! 😃
@shut crow It's a good start! I would move the date to be closer down to the line under it. Also the shapes and 'block game' text feel a bit like its not anchored to anything, maybe you could try moving them so the start of 'block game' aligns with the end of 'game night'. Or maybe either put it in the center or more to the side? Just try moving things around and see what looks good! I like the concept. 😃
@young karma I would try making the top text a bit less bold and smaller, putting it right over 'game night' and moving the time down to the location!
oh I saw now that you had changed it, I was looking at the one before. From what the first one where the text was straight I suggest those changes!
Happy to be doing another PS challenge, although not a gamer at all...😞
Here is my submission. The character is a favorite of my sons. The character is drawn by me.
Hello! Here's my Day 1 Challenge! Feedback are welcome! Thank you!

@peak warren not too nit picky at all, that is exactly the feedback I was looking for. Thanks. I had some reservations about the cartridges anyway.
