There is a HDMI cable plugged into the motherboard

alot of prebuilt vendors put tape over it / a sticker to avoid people doing it

hot cairn

it can be nice sometimes if you want a extra discord monitor

#

and your out of GPU ports

agile flicker
#

yeah

hot cairn

but generally always use the GPU ports if you have them

agile flicker

is it normal for my gpu to be 33 rn?

I'm a big fan of a sirloin (UK sirloin, not US sirloin)

whole yew
#

Steak should be cooked to personal preference, and for me, it depends on the cut. Black and blue is fine for filet and sirloin, not so much for ribeye

naive violet
rapid merlin
#

medium rare for me

#

i love meat

whole yew
# naive violet But well done is right out.

For me? Yes. For my grandparents who grew up in the great depression, well done is how they assured the meat was safe to eat - even if I think that makes it inedible, that's still the only way they felt they could trust it.

There's a good reason I did not enjoy eating porkchops my mom made as a kid, she just didn't know better

whole yew
#

eh, rare doesn't actually bleed

shell nova
whole yew

i think it's a chemical call myoglobin that gives it the pink/red color

devout palm

French alert

whole yew

and depends on the beef; brisket should be cooked very very differently than chateau briande

shell nova
whole yew
#

F because freedom units are my default setting

shell nova
#

I should order a steak "bleeding" in a French accent in the States

shell nova
#

Probs rare

whole yew
#

ah, rare or blue

#

'cold center' is usually room temp, yeah? that should be blue or rare

shell nova
whole yew
#

black and blue is very high temp sear that leaves the center room temp with an intense crust

#

i wouldn't do that with every steak

shell nova
#

English and French cuts are somewhat different though

whole yew
#

yeah,

#

i'm still trying to get my hands on a good sirloin cap

#

(bottom sirloin with fat cap still on it)

shell nova
#

For a "côte" I'd BBQ it got for not very long

#

That's uhh rib steak I guess?

#

With the rib still on usually

whole yew
#

rib needs to be cooked med IMO

shell nova
#

French'll martyr you for that

#

Same with "entrecote", which is between the ribs

whole yew
#

there's a lot of internal collagens and fats that don't render until it gets a bit warmer than rare. You'll have a lot of inedible fat and gristle if you pull it off when blue or rare

shell nova
#

Not ribs in the American version

whole yew
#

you mean the rib bone is left in

rapid merlin
shell nova
#

Yeah

whole yew
#

like in a standing rib roast

#

yeah, i've done both

rapid merlin
#

i dont eat kittykat

shell nova
#

Usually cut with 1 rib

#

It's the side, not the belly

whole yew
#

in an american style ribeye cut, there is a lot of tissues that need additional render time and temp

shell nova
#

Yeah that's why I say the French cuts are super different

whole yew
#

and if you're cooking a tomahawk, get ready for a bit of a wait no matter what; better off slow roasting until you're ready to sear and finish

#

that reminds me

whole yew
#

i'm cooking sirloin for 10 this week, i need to get my chimicurri sauce prepared

shell nova
#

Sounds yum

#

We get striploin

#

Not sure about what the equivalent to sirloin is

whole yew
# shell nova That T-bone?

no, normally when you carve up a rib primal, you can two steaks from each bone: you cut down as close to the bone as you can on either side, so you get alternating bone-in and boneless ribeyes. With a tomahawk, you cut down the center between bones, so you get half as many steaks

shell nova
shell nova
#

You get "côte" and "entrecote"

whole yew
#

makes sense

chilly veldt
#

meal prep today or tomorrow hmmGe

whole yew
#

cote and entrecote are thinner cuts than american ribeyes

chilly veldt
#

I have all I need already in the fridge

#

but I am tired

whole yew
#

i would expect the cook time needs to be much less because of that; more surface area to volume, so i bet the collagens and fats render much faster

whole yew
shell nova
whole yew
#

looks like they are 1-2cm, i think an average ribeye is 2.5cm to 4cm

#

oh, the cote not entrecote

shell nova
whole yew
#

yeah, i could see teh cote being thicker

shell nova
#

Yeah

#

Entrecote is usually relatively thin

whole yew
#

because the thickness of the bone is going to be difficult to split without losing meat to the bandsaw

shell nova
#

Being between the ribs

whole yew
#

yah

#

i need to run to the hospitality warehouse in a bit

shell nova
#

I can't get a proper blade roast in france

whole yew
#

need to see if they have an iwatani cassette style kbbq grill and some other restaurant stuff it's cheaper to get there

#

i've heard blade normally called chuck roast here

shell nova
#

Can probably do kbbq with a raclette style aperatus

whole yew
#

yeah, it looks pretty similar

shell nova
whole yew
#

i'm trying to talk my friend into doubling up with me for kbbq night; i'll bring the kbbq stuff, she'll bring the takoyaki stuff

#

i also need to source some more oxtail to make it for my grandma

#

she's 95 and deserves nice things

shell nova

Ooh yeah definitely

#

That needs to essentially be confit, no?

#

Will let you run to store
