In my experience, there are two ways to reach a DevOps level:

You can start as a Developer (Web, apps, whatever)
Or you can start as an Operations Analyst or SysAdmin (I come from here)

And it's because DevOps means develope and maintain at the same time pretty much, so if you already started as a developer, for example, you know how to create apps, websites or whatever, slowly get into the process of deployments, stages, etc, learning what's the path an app has to get through to reach the final user.

If you started as an Operations Analyst, you already know that, you know everything related with deployments, management of servers, containers, etc, so in this path, try to learn a coding language (I recommend Python or Javascript), and start involving in the development of everything too.

I will be honest, DevOps is not for begginers, because it has best of both worlds: Development of apps and the management of them πŸ˜„

Hi everyone, I am new here. I always liked playing on a PC and fix it if there was something wrong. Managed to β€œhack” a hacker many years ago when I was working in an internet cafe and he shutdown his pc by pressing the power button and then didn’t make sure it actually shutdown so I went and checked that the PC was off and saw it was stuck because of an app that windows couldn’t close so I pressed cancel and somehow i have managed to find out his email password and changed it… apparently he had 100’s of MB worth of email addresses.. he tried to threaten me by email because he never knew who or how his password was changed.
I recently passed my CCNA because I wanted to change my job to something I always liked but couldn’t chase so far because I fell in love with a different kind of job and I got to the point where I know I cannot advance anymore. I initially wanted to get into cybersecurity but once I got into the first 2 modules of the ccna i realised how much I liked it and carried on till I got the certificate but unfortunately it isn’t enough to get an entry level job anymore so I am looking to learn new things in here that might help me get a job in IT

I would say take a class first before delving into cybersecurity. especially if you are starting from 0 you should have a bit of background in IT, Hardware, the OS you are using, while you could get that from thm a bit. You might need some more background knowledge. I think cisco networking academy offers a free self paced course on some real basic stuff that would at least help you get your knowledge up to par.
