My initative is bugged, it should be my dex modifier right? Plus my QuickDraw bonus for gunslinger fighter, but it says that its just a +5
Is there any way to increase individual stats on the character sheet? I need to add +2 to my arcana and history
Click on the stat name, side panel opens up, and you can click the customize dropdown and modify the stat.
Currently playing in a game and my character fell to 0 hp. I passed my death saving throws, but the char sheet wouldn't allow me to show as passed but unconscious with 0 hp, had to change it to 1. Am I doing something wrong?
Given that you immediately fall into bleeding again if you take any damage, but you cannot have lower than 0 HP, I think this is working as intended.
Click on the skills and there should be a customise tab, add the 2 to the modifier area

I assume @faint wigeon is asking about how to mark their character as stable (as one is after passing 3 death saving throws).
That said, you can just mark your character as having 3 successes on your death saves; nothing more needs to be done until you get healed (causing you to regain HP) or take damage (forcing you to start making death saves again).

Did the containers update remove the possibility to add 'ad hoc' items that are not homebrewed? I could add them under 'other gear' earlier, and still those that were added are there, but I can't find the option to add custom items anymore after the update.
You can find them under Manage Inventory, then going down to Equipment.

It was originally printed in MOOT, so you probably need to turn on Magic: The Gathering content for that character.

So I’m having trouble with my homebrew race being enabled in my character creation.
For instance I have the ability increases for +2 Dex and +1 Wis and put in the data as the guide instructed but when I make a character it doesn’t show the racial bonus I added in the trait menu am I doing something wrong?

Not sure if this has been reported but if you copy a character that has items in custom containers the copy will have only the items that are in "Equipment" all the containers are cleared.
I have a spellcaster character that keeps track of all material components, and I made custom items for each component. Can these custom items be moved between containers like backpacks or component pouch, or are they just stuck in the general equipment section of the inventory?
I think you can go to the general Equipment listing and use the "Move" button to move things to different containers.

First thing to check is that you don't have any extensions running. Some extensions have been interfering with homebrew fields, causing stuff to get wiped. Other than that, would need more information about what you're trying to add, how you're doing it (the order of operations) and what's getting wiped
The custom item option is under 'manage equipment'

You can't accidentally publish something, you have to click Share with the Community and then select Confirm, confirming that you've read the homebrew rules and guidelines which specify you should not publish something that isn't complete

That wouldn't be it, we don't block trait creation at that level. And there's no rule that'd prohibit calling something 'Unnatural Defense'

I believe because nothing in the game lets you add proficiency bonus to initiative, the system isn't set up to connect those modifiers together

So I'm continuing with my homebrew Gnoll race, and alot of races, like Orc, have personality traits that you can add in the description section. My question is, where would I add that? In Racial Trait, and if so, in what section?

None of the races with personality traits let you pick them, they're all descriptive that you can copy into your character background

So I'm trying to increase the damage of a racial ability at Level 5, 10 15 and 20, so I copy the old racial trait and just make there be more dice, so I make it a replacement trait. But with level 10 I can't replace the level 5 trait. Is it because it's already a replacement trait? Or something else?
You can usually add them as a custom action directly on your sheet. (Go to the Actions tab and hit “Manage Custom”)
If not, a homebrew feat to replicate that specific manuever is the next best option.

Anyone else having issues deleting encounters?
You'll want just a single trait for this. Replacement traits are for Tasha's-style custom origin features.
After you create your Action, edit it again and scroll to the bottom. You should see a Level Overrides section where you can add those updates.

Not as a custom action, no, but you can do it with a homebrew feat.
How do I remove or hide generic character in encounter? I can hide those who have sheets but not generic?
Currently there's no way to remove a placeholder character following the latest update. This issue has already been raised, but for the time being, you will have to select a different present, then re-select your campaign

I bought the d&d essentials kit on amazon for table top use. It actually came with a code for dndbeyond and lets me access all the sources on there. Will this be the case with someone like the monsters manual? (If i get a hard copy i'll get a dndbeyond code?)

So that worked on all of the encounters except for one. I believe I have on here that really is bugged. I named it "The Beginning" because it was the first one I attempted, but when I click on it, it says that it's still untitled, and when I try to delete it'll just stay there.

You will need to use a different service called CritterDB to create the stat blocks for the creature and then use the !bestiary <link to critterdb monster(s)> to import them into Avrae. You can then add them to initiative like any other monster.

I have a few questions concerning a new campaign.

I'm a player in this campaign, and I have purched DDB players bundle. I am really trying to get everyone to utilize DDB for keeping track of stuff and dice rolls. The DM is not interested in Roll20 except for potentially very difficult to comprehend scenario's.
Most of us have sheets in DDB except our lizardfolk barb. I've offered to buy volvo's guide so that he can make a sheet proper, and we can try using some of the tools there without relying on Roll20
my main question, if I purchase master tier - I can share these books with the people in my campaign even though I am not the DM?
my other questions involve the optional tools like initiative tracker/encounter builder, etc.

And I currently do this for 2 campaigns I'm in, one inn Roll20 and the other in Foundry.
The only qualifier for you sharing the content is to have to have a subscription to DNDBeyond and have an active player in the campaign
obviously with some concern to the amount of money I'm spending on digital content - I don't want to get TOOOO crazy with buying digital sourcebooks that I'm reallllly not using except for making character creation easier and more fluid

Take a look at Avrae, the Discord bot (owned by DnDBeyond) which integrates with Discord.
Well, if you're using DND Beyond, it doesn't just make character sheet creation and management easier, it makes the dice rolls and automations way easier. It's as simple as clicking what you want to do and it'll roll it for you, and you can even link that with whichever VTT you're using for everyone to see and calculate damage/health with
now I know the initiative tracker is an alpha project and only available to paid subscribers. If I pay, can I make this available to my campaign, or just me? IE: I'd have to be the one keeping track of initiative for everyone.

I prefer Avraes - DnDBeyond updates so frequently (for good) that Beyond20 can sometimes cause issues

Yah, that's fair. It's unfortunately the only way I've been able to get some people to use DnD Beyond though. Some people are really stubborn against it and/or stubborn for Roll20

That's mainly what it's for I think
The game log will display all dice rolls made by all characters in the campaign, plus the rolls made by the DM from the encounter builder and combat tracker as long as the encounter is linked to the campaign

I'm definitely no wizard with setting up discord bots and channels, but I think this will be a worthy task just to make our lives easier.
The key things to make sure
- You've linked your campaign to avrae with the !campaign link
- Each player has linked the the character they're using in that campaign to avrae
This way
- All rolls made from the character sheet will appear in discord
- All rolls made from discord will appear in the gamelog
You also need...
3. Each player has linked their DDB and Discord accounts
A lot of the commands and things you can do is on the main Avrae page too

Just to clarify here: anyone in a campaign (whether player or DM) can enable content sharing for that campaign if they have a Master Tier subscription. Once it's enabled, all game content owned by everyone in the campaign gets shared with everyone else.

So once it's been enabled, the DM will then see a Content Management button at the top of the screen. They can go in there to turn on/off compendium access for any book being shared.

If it's off for a book, that stops players from reading that specific book (unless they own that book themself).

So combat tracker would only be available to me - but the encounter builder and what not is still a tool available to the DM? Theoretically I could put the initiative rolls into the combat tracker and use it to track the groups turns yes?
I don't think that one's on the list, but if not, you can hit the blue "Submit Idea" button at the top of that page and request it anyway.
i'll have to play with it all and see what Avrae will and won't do as well. I am all for helping to keep things neatly tracked and taking any burder of bookkeeping off the DM's shoulders that I can lol
The encounter builder is in beta, so any user should be able to access it.
But in order for you to run it in the combat tracker, you'd have to be the one to create the encounter. You won't be able to run one your DM creates.
Avrae should work just fine for the both of you, though. You can try !tutorial initiative (DM) or !tutorial initiative (player) to see how it works from both sides.

Is there any way to customize Avrae to be less verbose? For example, if you roll an attack with a rapier and want Avrae to only spit out the attack roll + modifier, but dont want Avrae to spit out the details about the rapier.

Open the sheet in DDB, click on your rapier, and open the Customize section in the sidebar.
Find the “Notes” field and enter a single space.
Then !update and !a rapier
You can put whatever else you like in that Notes field if you want it to display something else.
But whitespace will make it go away entirely.

There doesn't appear to be. I just made a homebrew copy of a bag of holding itself, and that didn't do it.
But this is just Step 1 for containers, and there's a lot more still to come. They have said custom containers are in the plans.

Avrae seems to be returning pings - just tested it in #ddb-avrae-commands.
Try !ping on your server and see what it returns.
It may be a Discord issue. Based on past experience this is often the case when Avrae appears to not be responding - something on Discord's end is having an issue.

You can find this by logging in to DnDBeyond, and then click the Account link in your profile.

Yes but check to see if it says "Your entitlements data is in sync!".
That basically says everything that you should have access to is accessible.
If it doesn't say that, then I think there's a button to resync it?
If that doesn't work, then I'd try unlinking the campaign and relinking it using Avrae's !campaign command again.
And if that doesn't work - uh... let me see if spamandtuna can help

Unfortunately I'm out of ideas. Again maybe try removing the campaign from Avrae/Discord and re-adding it (whoever the DM is of the campaign).
You might also want to check on the Avrae developer Discord for further support.
If your rolls aren’t showing in the game log, that would explain why they aren’t showing in Avrae.

Yeah, the Action would just be for the damage part you asked about.

For those two, you’d add them as Modifiers on the racial trait itself.
(If they’re permanent bonuses)
If it’s a temporary bonus, I’d just leave it in the text description.

If this is private use (if you’re not publishing it), one common workaround is to use homebrew magic items for temporary effects instead.
Equip it to start the effect, and unequip it when it ends.

Hello fine people of the DDB discord, I am having an issue after the most recent change (inventory containers update) where I cannot figure out how to make custom items any more, can someone please help me?
@devout matrix I was able to do it in the general inventory but then it’s stuck there. You can’t move it into the pack. I had to add a horror trinket to a players inventory and it took like 10 minutes to figure out. 🤷♂️

I had no issues creating custom items before the update, I did it earlier the same day as it released
Click Manage Inventory, then open the Equipment section. You should see a link at the bottom that says "+ Add Custom Item". It's not a button anymore.
But this is just Step One for containers. Support for custom items in those is already planned.
I just found it, very strange that it is under "contents" and not under "add items" though
and yes, I cannot add or move custom items to containers other than "equipment" but at least it can be used this way 🙂

Separate Issue: The total weight that is in my Bag of Holding is totaled together with my equipment so that it looks like I am over carrying capacity, is there currently any way to have it ignore the weight of contents in a container?
Not yet. Again, this is just the first step, so there's a lot more still to come for containers.
They'll be pushing out each part as it's ready so people can enjoy them sooner.

That my be hidden from anyone but the owner of the character sheet as DnDBeyond feedback has shown that many games prefer to have that "hidden" for potential plot reasons.
I do not think you can even as the GM of the campaign
I think the DnDBeyond devs have mentioned looking into making this more fine-grained permissions but no idea where that is on the feature list and priorities.
Okay, the GM that is in charge of the campaign can see the alignment of the PC just like they can see their notes

You most likely have multiple accounts at one of the providers as even without a subscription characters aren't removed. Beyond trying all your accounts we can only recommend opening a ticket with customer service to see if they can help discover what account you were using.
If you’ve created a campaign on D&D Beyond and had the player join with that character, you should be able to see their alignment in the Description tab.
If you did all that and don’t see the Descriptions tab, you’re probably viewing the sheet from the public sharing URL. Try navigating back to your campaign page and open the character sheet from there.

Same deal. Homebrew only shows up for you in character creation if you've got it in your collection, or you're making a character in a campaign where someone else has the homebrew hence shares it to you

So, perhaps its me being stupid. But I'm looking at creating a subclass within DNDBeyond and the idea is "you get to select an additional proficiency from a list", in this case, the fighter's list. But I can't limit it to just the fighter's options or set my own. Or atleast, I don't know how to. Does anyone know?

It wasn't that way 2 weeks ago. You had a number selector so you could say you have 3 character at lvl 5, 2 characters at lvl 3, etc. Now you have to add a character for every character and mark them the same level? That's going backwards not forwards in development.
The encounter builder is still in beta and it's being actively development. As such, the team is exploring different user experiences and interfaces. There is a feedback option in the builder where you provide feedback
I get that, but this is definitely a bug as the styling is off here as well. Something changed in the code and is causing this bug. It's definitely not a UI change.
For instance, see the screenshot attached to this message. It has 3 "characters" showing at level 5. but the "# of characters" shows 5 because one of those has the old player count of 3 characters at lvl 5

It's giving you 8 rolled for level one then saying you chose to roll for your level 2 hp and got a 4.
So you have 12 total from rolling and +4 from your con for 16 hp total.

Average HP gained on a d8 is 5hp.

You might have picked it when you made your character and it auto did it when you leveled.

Rolling physical dice then putting it in is Manual.
If you click on the gear on your sheet then go to Edit Character then go to the Home tab (should be the first screen you would have seen when you made your character), you can look at HP generation method.

You start with 8 hp in that box then you'd add the number you rolled.
If your table is rolling for hp. Usually just taking the average is safer. Sucks getting 1hp.

I think it automatically fills in 12 (the largest possible value on a hit die, for barbarians) before you select a class in the character builder.

it still applies the +2 but it doesn't increase the maximum
Pretty sure that only increases the maximum.
Also, if you've made homebrew edits after adding to a character, it can take 15–20 minutes for the changes to appear
as far as I can tell the stacking bonus option is only applying a regular bonus

You want Bonus - Ability Score Maximum (primary stat CHA), which raises the possible maximum. Then Stacking Bonus - Charisma Score to add a bonus that can actually go above 20. Both with a fixed value.

But you don't even need the stacking bonus if you use the AS max bonus; I did a quick homebrew copy of one of the Manuals and they just do the bonus to the score and bonus to the ability score maximum

If you have just Bonus, not Stacking bonus, and that puts you at exactly 20, do class ASIs prevent you from increasing the score above 20? With an increased max of course.

Yeah, it works perfectly. Using just Bonus > Ability Score Maximum and Bonus > Charisma Score. If I have a 17 CHA character that equips the Tome of Leadership and Influence (19 CHA), I can still select ASI options that bring me to 22 CHA

The only two official items using Stacking Bonus are the Hammer of Thunderbolts and the Nether Scroll of Azumar (from CM). As far as I can tell, the Nether Scroll works exactly like the Tome of Clear Thought (with another bonus), but uses Stacking Bonus over Bonus. I see no mechanical difference
Figured it out. Stacking bonus "stacks" with the Set modifier. So the Hammer of Thunderbolts' +4 STR stacks with the set STR score of whichever belt of giant strength you wear. E.g.: Belt of hill giant strength gives 21 STR; hammer of thunderbolts adds +4 to that, giving 25 STR

You can click “Manage Inventory”, open the “Equipment” section in the sidebar, and look for the “+ Add Custom Item” option at the bottom.

I want to add a spell my build doesnt normally have access to - (from item) so that it shows up in my spell list together with the other spells. How do I do so? I tried equipping and attuning to an item that has spells but it doesn't look to change the spell list
Magic items can't add spells to lists, you'd need to create a homebrew subclass or background (or feat I believe, but I'm not 100% sure on that)
I can confirm that feats can add spells
In a campaign where we used that method
A magic item can directly add a spell to your character.
It does not let you modify your class spell list.
If adding the spell directly to the item isn't viable for whatever reason, then I'd suggest making a homebrew copy of your subclass and adding it there.
Or making a homebrew copy of the spell itself and making that available to your class.

Once they've claimed it, it's theirs. They can leave the campaign with it and everything

Still have to do that via the site, which can be done with the app just not by clicking the name.
And if I delete the character they will still have a copy?
Once they've claimed it, you shouldn't even have the option to delete it.
You can Remove them from the campaign, but not actually delete the character.

Does anyone know how to delete creatures you put in an encounter using the manual entry feature? I just had to rebuild an encounter from scratch because I couldn't get rid of them - they're not in the editor, and resetting/reloading the encounter didn't remove them.

Hey, Im having some trouble with DND beyond. Whenever I do some work on my homebrew subclass its not updating. So I will do something and then load it up and it will work the first time, then I make some changes and go back and it will only load up the first instance.

Whenever I go to make a sample character to check if its working I will delete the old character and make a new one and the new one is still using the old options from a previous version.

Beyond 20 regularly breaks features on the site. Disabling or removing it is the first step in troubleshooting.

But for those three, you’ll see an option called Additional Spell List.
Whatever you put in there, the character will be able to pick just like any other spell for their class.
They gave a sneak peek of them on the last Dev Update, so I imagine it’ll be fairly soon. As usual, no specific date has been announced.

How do you expand a class's spell list like divine soul sorc? I tried copying it to see how it's coded but I don't see anything set that allows it to expand the list and when I try running the copy with no changes it doesn't have the expanded list
That might be done through unholy ritual. 👀
But you can do it by adding the spells you want under Additional Spell List.
There's a box in the builder for granting access to another class's list but it doesn't seem to actually do anything. Oh man that's going to take a while

Interesting. If I copy arcane trickster it has no spell list but does have spellcasting. So copying subclasses as a basis for a caster subclass is actually broken right now I guess?
Actually, that “Additional Spell List” field in the main class description just worked for me.
I put “Bard” on my sorcerer subclass, and was then able to select Vicious Mockery for my character.
So maybe that’s how divine soul works, but it just doesn’t get copied over?

Sometimes homebrew edits can take up to 15 minutes before they show up on your character sheet.
So if you already had that subclass applied to a character when you made the change, maybe they hadn’t caught up yet.

You can’t do it just like longswords, but you can add it as a separate roll on the Actions tab. Just hit “Manage Custom” in the top right corner, then you can add it in the sidebar.

Are you experiencing this issue with any other characters?
For flying, give it a Modifier with “Set — Innate Speed (Flying)”. You can use Fixed Value to specify the speed, or leave it blank to make it equal your walking speed.
For ability scores, you’d do something like "Bonus — Strength Score”, Fixed Value: 1.

If you infused an item, it should show that automatically.

On desktop, select one of your learned infusion options in Inventory. That should open the sidebar where you can infuse items.

You can't make containers, but you can customise existing ones, including customising name, weight, value and description

Feats can only add specific spells directly to the character. An expanded spell list would need to be done as a homebrew race, subclass, or background.

Is this not the "Character and DM to Game Inventory Sharing" which is in development now, according to the product board? It says, "The ability to have an inventory that holds containers and items that the party and the Dungeon Master can share."
You can now section off your inventory into different categories, but you can't create a shared inventory that multiple characters can edit.

I was wondering if someone could help me out? I want to make a Drow/Dark Elf on DDB, but the option isn't listed under the Elf Subraces. I just have a free account, and haven't purchased anything yet. (I already own physical copies of the PH and DMG.) What exactly would I need to purchase to unlock the Drow/Dark Elf Subrace? Just the PH, or something else?
the Player's Handbook would unlock all the content therein, including Drow. If you would just like the Drow race for now you can buy it piecemeal https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/players-handbook It's about 3/4 down the page under Sub-races.
If you do purchase drow by itself, the cost of that will be deducted from the PHB if you decide to purchase it later.

I have been trying to make a working Necklace of Prayer Beads, where you get the spells associated with the beads you actually have and you only get the charges pr. bead as described.
I had to split it into 3 parts - The actual necklace which required attunement, 1 magic item bead with 1 charge and the associated spell/spells, and special copy spells of the original spells with their casting time time set to a Bonus action.
In the magic item add spells section you can define 3 things about the spell you add, the number of charges it uses/can use an alternative save DC and the spell level it is cast at. If i could get 1 more option Casting Time, with the option to define an overrule of the spells normal casting time, i could have saved making special spell copies with BA casting time
The information we were provided: This is the first time that sales are available via the mobile app. The mobile app currently does not support bundles or preorder books.
so to clarify - I have a spell copy of each of the possible spells, only modification is the casting time changed to a Bonus Action, 7 spells total, i then have 6 bead magic items 1 for each type with the relevant copy spell attached, Curing has 2 spells remember, and then the actual Necklace as an "empty" item just requiring attunement

I know 🙂 some features in a magic item can be quite difficult to put to the code, but with the little feature to overrule the casting time would be super nice

It used to be super easy, and now it's all weird.
It has changed recently, yes. The team has been made aware that managing the generic character count (not characters tied to a campaign) has caused more difficult encounter building for users

I have to select a campaign to reset it, then x out of the campaign. This is the only way I have found to drop a character.

You don't even have to select a campaign, you can select another preset or (the easiest way) click the little (x) next to the preset

As for the question about having only 3 characters... That, I can't answer. Since every preset starts with 4 as a default. Can you provide a screenshot? Do you have any extensions that might be interfering (Beyond20, AboveVTT, ad-blockers, VPNs, etc.)? Do you still see this behavior when creating a new encounter or creating an encounter in a different browser or an Incognito browsing session?

Was thinking of purchasing some books but outside of the players guide, I don't have much experience with that yet. When buying a source guide like EGtW... is all artwork (including maps) available and able to be seen within the digital versions? I'm assuming so, but wanted to be sure...
I think almost all art work is. There might be some like chapter art that isn't on there since it isn't like a pdf scan of the book.

It would be only a few images at most. It wouldn't be any of the content or smaller pictures. I couldn't say for sure since I don't own it on DnD Beyond and I wouldn't want to compare a 300 page book
The team works hard to present all the books as faithfully as possible.
All the images provided are high-resolution, so you can zoom in and see everything in detail.
And most books include player versions of the maps in addition to the DM version you get in the print book.
The player versions hide away the secret entrances and such to avoid any spoilers.
I opened probably 15 forums that had variations of the questions and it seems that while it maybe laid out differently because the pages don't have to be turned (much continued content can be scrolled) but it seems like the images are definitely there. Hi, folks. So, today I went to level up my kenku rogue to level 4 and for some reason I did not have the option to take Magic Initiate (Wizard). All other Magic Initiate options are there - just not the wizard one. I've used this character in another campaign and had no issue taking that feat before. My DM ended up just manually adding it in FVTT.
Any ideas as to anything I might be doing wrong? (I am tired today lol so unsure whether I'm just missing something).

Looking at the Features & Traits section, it already shows both Magic Initiate (Wizard) and Ritual Caster (Wizard).
I’m guessing it was added directly to your sheet by clicking Manage Feats, which would explain why it isn’t showing as an option for your ASI.

There is not an officially supported way to do this as they are two separate companies.
You can manually create a character sheet in roll20 and copy the stats and such from the ddb sheet, though that’s a decent amount of work.
D&D Beyonds character sheets allow you to roll right on them or you can use the /r commands in roll20 and read off your character sheet as you play but roll visibly in roll20 chat

If its homebrew there is a spells section while creating the item. You should add spells from there. If you choose a feat that gives a spell when you get the feat there is a expandable bar that you choose the spell you want and it will be added to your spells.
Ask the DM to send you an invite to the campaign and you will get the option to choose a character you made previously on ddb

You will get every content that PHB contains. Every spell and item or other stuff thats in the PHB. Not every spell or background since some of them are in different books.

I'm trying to make a my own Homebrew version of the 4 elements Monk subclass remastered on DnDBeyond. But figuring out all the configurations to do to get it right is so damn confusing. Can someone help me by explaining what I need to do?
So basically I am trying to change the damage of the Water Whip feature. It forces a Dex Saving throw (that is the same.) And it does a base 3d10 bludgeoning damage. I want to change the damage so it now does bludgeoning damage = marital arts die + Wis mod.

It's not possible at the moment, although I vaguely recall it having been mentioned as a desired eventual feature. In the meantime, you can use the homebrew tools to create copies of the hags' stat blocks and give them each the specific name of the hag.

I don’t think so, but you can add it as a Custom Action directly on your character sheet.
Just go to the Actions tab, hit the Manage Custom button in the top-right corner, then add it in the sidebar.
Is there a schedule or roadmap for the combat tracker to become more fleshed out? Most importantly, importing stats from character sheets into the combat tracker?

I've found a bug with new equipment system, if you copy a character with items in backpack, pouch etc. those items will disapear.. on the copied sheet...

I have a question. If you make homebrew and submit it to the site. Is there anyway someone can click your name and see all the items you have submitted? The reason I ask is I don't want players seeing the items I've made before they encounter them.
it's not possible to view a users homebrew that way
You can go to the various homebrew sections and search by user name, for example seeing all the spells someone has published
It should be noted your players will see any homebrew you've made (published or not) via campaigns if it's in your collection
If you’re only trying to share it with players in your campaign, you don’t even need to publish at all.
Anything in your My Homebrew Collection gets shared with your campaign automatically.
So you can also just remove it from your Collection (and find it in My Homebrew Creations instead) if you want to keep it secret.
So, silly question time - some of the adventures in the marketplace specify that they have "Rollable tables", how (if at all) are these different from ordinary tables. Should there be some sort of interactivity in the book to generate a result for the table?

That'd be copy from the physical books, it just means it includes resources the DM can roll on for random results

And annoyingly as the DM you don't have access to your digital dice in the window in which you are reading the book.

It's been mentioned before that the ultimate goal with the dice roller is to have it be available anywhere where dice rolling should occur

Random question. On dnd beyond, when you roll for a weapon or spell. It rolling two dices for example it rolls a 1d10 for my eldrich blast and then the plus 5 after. Do you know how to fix it so it just rolls one dice and then auto adds the extra damage

I assume the extra damage is from Agonizing Blast? That should already get included.

Yes your correct, it should automatically be added but it's rolling a dice for it

If you disable that extension you should see everything working normally.
I have a question regarding the master subscription.
If i purchased the master subscription and used it to content share with some friends and they used that to make a few characters what would happen to their characters that use the content shared content if my subscription ran out
They would continue to be able to use the content and level up normally, but would be unable to add new content not already part of the character. For example:
- They could continue leveling up a Clockwork sorcerer (e.g.) and gain all of the new subclass features as they go
- They could not add/prepare any shared spells that weren't already added/prepared
- If they removed the subclass, or changed race, or removed/unprepared any shared spells, they wouldn't be able to get them back
Did dndbeyond add tax to purchases? I don't remeber havong to pay any sort of tax, but I just pre ordered the 3 remaining books and I got charged tax. I live in the EU, isn't tax supposed to be included in the price? Idk how it is in the US but this is the first time I was charged Tax. Is it a bug or smth, or was it recently changed? ( when I bought Van Richtens I wasn't charged tax)

Optional spells are not a feature that can be added via homebrew because they add to the base class spell list and it's not currently possible to homebrew on base class features
As spamandtuna mentioned, you can make races, subclasses or backgrounds that add spells to a characters base spell list though

You can certainly add a Tasha’s-style expanded spell list to a homebrew subclass.
Just add a class feature with Feature Type: Additional.
Add the extra spells under Expanded Spell List.
And you’re done.
It’ll work exactly like the official one.
Not sure what 'just vibes' means, but Adam, Todd and Lauren leaving was 6 months ago. The change to D&D Beyonds UA support is a recent one
UA is difficult to implement and manage because:
- UA often introduced new rules that required new development to even handle.
- UA rules only last for a short timeframe (and often the final published rules are different then what the UA started with)
So it makes a lot of business sense to not have to implement and support playtest rules that may or may not be implemented in actual published rules.
Also UA often drops without warning to WoTC partners.

I'm playing an artificer, on beyond it limits the infusions to be used only one of each kind at a time. Is this accurate? I was under the impression as long as you knew the infusion, it could be done to as many times as you have slots for items to infuse. Am I crazy?
Example, added plus 1 to shield, can't add plus 1 to armor

You could homebrew a copy of the monster and give it a unique name

Okay, so to access the books yourself, you don't need a subscription, you just need to purchase them
If you want to share the books you own, you will need to join a campaign with your friends that has content sharing enabled
To enable content sharing, someone in the campaign must
- have a master tier subscription
- click the 'enable content sharing' button
- (not already be sharing content in 5 other campaigns)
Two things should be noted
- It doesn't have to be the DM that enables content sharing, anyone can do this. But the DM will always have control over what content is shared
- Enabling content sharing shares everyones books with everyone else, not just the books belonging to the person who enabled content sharing

Hello! Just wondering, is there a problem with the monster creation atm? I did not check any boxes for legendary, mythic or lair on the monster I am building right now, but it still shows so when opening the creature
When making a monster, you have to enable the legendary, mythic and lair traits, delete the contained text, and then disable them
... since when? I don't remember this being an issue before, when I never before checked them, but lemme try it

That's always been the case; those fields are disabled by default but are also pre-populated with reminder text that can't be edited if the fields aren't enabled

It's not a bug, it's a feature of the tools; those fields have reminder text but text can only be edited when the field is enabled. However, you can't populate a field with text on enabling it
so even if I don't want legendary, mythic, or lair actions, they're always enabled by default because there's reminder text in them, and I have to enable those options so I can delete the text? that kind of feels like a bug to me. is there anywhere in the homebrew creator that explains this?
It's not a bug, it's an intended function of the tools. When making a homebrew monster, you are expected to review all the fields are correct before publishing

In the character builder is there a way to organize the list of options to appear first in order of level prerequisite and then alphabetically of option name?
I don’t believe so. Looks like you’d need to add them in the order you want them to appear.
This is the things I've used to try and make something base AC 14+dex but it ended up using the 13+dex of draconic sorc. Anything I did wrong?

The Modifier Type is right.
The Subtype should be Unarmored Armor Class With a Fixed value of 4

unless you are modifying the AC based on something other than Dex
