Generally speaking, the homebrew system is built to facilitate the official rules. Since no official feat ever had a skill prerequisite, they probably never had cause to add it.

Promotions don’t combine unless stated otherwise. Even in your screenshot, the legendary discount is not applied.

Hello. I have a question. I can't buy the three books this month. Só, I intend to pre-order the Digital Players Handbook this month, the digital DMG next month and the digital Monster Manual one month later. Would I get all the pre-order bonuses as I would get if i had bought the bundle? Or I need to pre-order the three books together to get the bonuses?

Hello, new to the Discord but I've used DnD Beyond for over a year now but I have started running into some issues while using my prefered web browser (Opera GX). I have had to start moving the game log and other windows to the left side of my window for about 2 months now because the page seems to be conflicting with the browser now. Mostly the right end of spell text and actual roll numbers being completely shown off of my screen as if the page has been shifted. There also seems to be some bug with moving things to the left side of the window being it makes certain clickable buttons no longer clickable, I.E. choosing my second level spells or above rather than scrolling down my spell page to get to certain levels. I'm also having issues with being able to expend charges on my Staff of the Woodlands, seems the ability to mark off used charges no longer works at all. Mainly asking if anyone knows any work arounds for this, setting I could change, or if these are known issues that are being worked on?

I have understood that they have decided against giving a discount on the digital part for combination products that have physical and digital components.

What remains unclear to me is why discounts were cumulative in the past (for digital products) and are no longer cumulative today.

An example of this statement: If I were to buy the digital version of Candlekeep Mysteries today, i see the "Legendary Bundle Disc" is displayed in the shop, but it is not actually credited to the product. I can benefit from the current -40% promotion, but as the owner of the Legendary Bundle Disc I have no advantage over a regular buyer, as the Legendary Bundle Discount is only displayed, but not credited in addition to the current -40% promotion.
And here there is now a difference to how it was handled in the past when purchasing digital books. With my last purchases, the discounts were still combined. The aim of my enquiry was to understand why this has changed and when.
In my opinion, the answer to this question is still pending.

At that time, there was an ongoing Promotion (20% Off Books and Bundles in the Marketplace for D&D Beyond's Anniversary.
The The Wild Beyond the Witchlight (Pre-order) came at 29.99$. With a -20% discount it comes down to 23.99$, if you then apply the -15% from the legendary boundle, it goes down to 20.39$.
--> Promotions on digital products used to combine with the Legendary Boundle.

The “Orc Conduit” from “Flee Mortals!” and the attack “Elemental Discharge” has it’s damage roll added like a normal Check roll, not like a damage roll. Results in a right click giving you the option to roll advantage and not crit damage. Is this the right place to report this?

What is spell scale/spell scaling ? How it works?

That should allow your Proficiency Bonus to apply. Do note that any updates to homebrew can take 10-15 minutes for the server cache to clear and apply to a character sheet.

Spell scale would tell the system how to scale a spell if upcast. For example the spell fire bolt scales up it's damage based on being a cantrip which scales up in power at certain levels. Or the spell could target more creatures.

You can hover over the question mark near the field to see a tooltip that explains it.

If you hover over the question mark button and check the tooltip it tells you but it indicates at what level the damage/effects would increase above the spell's normal casting level. So for example if you added a 1 there it would tell DnDBeyond that for each spell slot above the normal casting one, the damage would increase by the amount indicated.

Nah you're fine - the tl;dr; is this:
Digital core book bundle: You can use D&D Beyond marketplace regardless of region *
Physical core book bundle: dndstore.wizards.com doesn't offer physical only purchases so you'll need to try your local gaming store/bookstore/etc
Digital + Physical core book bundle: dndstore.wizards.com doesn't offer this but you don't miss out on anything because this bundle (on the DDB store) doesn't grant you any extra savings, it's just a convenience factor. You can just add the three individual book bundles to your cart*

*These options will grant the exclusive pre-order bonuses; the digital art book, the gold dragon digital mini, and the gold dice
tl;dr - no you can't get the all in bundle but this won't result in you missing out on anything, it just means five extra clicks

So the dndbeyond "all three books bundles" is just a bundle of convenience and you ordering the physical + digital bundle for each book individually on the dndstore.wizards.com store does not exclude you from any of the preorder perks. The savings are exactly the same as well.

Buying a physical book does not give you DnDBeyond access unless you buy one of the digital + physical bundles through DnDBeyond (if in US) or through https://dndstore.wizards.com/ if outside of the US.

1. Fully close and relaunch the app
2. Close the app, clear cache, relaunch
3. Close the app, clear all app data (this deletes your books), relaunch
4. Uninstall and reinstall the app

That’s not possible for homebrew spells, I’m afraid.

If the homebrew is for private use, you can simply insert a link instead.

(But doing so won’t let you publish the item for the global community.)

You can use HTML encoding to simulate the [spell] code, but yeah, you still can’t publish it when doing that. It’s how I do it for my personal homebrew, though.

You can even trick DNDB into showing the cool preview hover-over in private homebrew!

If you have a Master Tier subscription, you can enable Content Sharing in up to five campaigns.

Once that’s enabled, everyone’s books get shared with everyone else.

And they’ll be able to use any shared character options for characters in that campaign.

Is creating a custom monster easy?

With DnDBeyond tools? Maybe not as easy as using a text document/pen and paper.
But you can also take an existing monster and tweak it up to make your own homebrewed creation (easy-ish way to get a homebrew monster created).
Creating one from scratch can be a little more challenging - and remember that DnDBeyond only supports what's possible in the official rules so if you go too far off the expected norms and rules of official D&D, it may not be possible in DnDBeyond.
You can always bounce your homebrew ideas off the creative bunch in #homebrew as well.

Pretty much. You could on your main race have a feature with options at level one and do the subraces that way. That's how I do it and it not only makes things look neater in the character builder. It also makes it to where I don't have to remake everything for each subrace.

DnDBeyond only has 3 ways to login: Google Account, Apple Account, or Wizards of the Coast Account. Most likely you set up your account with Apple since you mentioned iOS.
To login on the website you'll need to enable 3rd party cookies and allow popups for the DnDBeyond domain in your web browser. Then use your Apple ID to login.

Hello. Question, I have 2 DnD beyond accounts (by accident, signed up with two methods). My main account that has all my characters is logged in through Twitch.
I haven't used it for a many months, but I'm starting a new campaign. I went to log in today and after I put all my stuff it, it briefly flashes a message 'this user has been banned from the site.' Then it takes me back to the D&D beyond home page.

I haven't even logged in to my D&D Beyond or Twitch account for probably 6 months. Certainly didn't do anything ban worthy. Is this a mistake, if so, how can I fix this?

Oh, it would have no way of knowing that I have two. Totally seperate emails/logins etc. And I used D&D beyond for several years without issue. My Twitch login account is 'my account'. I can't select any of the Critical Role subclasses in the character builder, even when I have CR content toggled on.

When I go into the Game Rules tab and select the Wizard for example, I can see the chronurgy and graviturgy subclasses which are from Critical Role. But when I go into the character builder and toggle on CR content, I can't see either of those options when picking the subclass.

I tested this with other classes too. None of the CR subclasses are showing up, but the Blood Hunter class is still showing up for some reason.

For some reason, it would seem thrown weapon fighting isn't applying directly to the weapon, so I'm working on customizing the psychic blades. I had a dex mod of +3 and am proficient, so it looks like these would be correct since thrown weapon fighting will add a +2 to the dmg roll, but I was hoping someone might be willing to verify I've made these correctly.

2. Do I need to reorder them all at once and risk getting all physical books only when the MM is out?

Mutagens increase your maximum for a score so that behavior seems correct. Manual score adjustment would certainly affect it too, as you noted.

I don’t have a great answer for you, but I encountered a similar problem authenticating on mobile some months back and the only fix was to create a Wizards account, link it to my DNDB account on Firefox, unhook my Google account, then use the Wizards account to log in on mobile.

If that’s not what you’re experiencing, you might consider logging in on a web browser to see if it needs anything else before successfully logging in on mobile.

I'm using Spectator view to display on a TV on the tabletop. Occasionally we go for awhile without making any changes to the map.

The map appears to timeout and goes black after awhile.

This makes the map very hard to use. It cause me to refresh the map, restart a spectator view, and then readjust the map again to match the Minis on the TV.

It's not a limitation or bug, it's an intentional choice based on user feedback

Originally spells granted by feats, races, etc showed up on your spell list to cast using spell slots but people complained it cluttered up the spell list. So following that feedback (I believe there was actually a user feedback survey) it was changed so that spells that could be cast using spellslots from outside your spellcasting feature wouldn't be listed in your spell list

Sometimes bank verification errors happen because what the bank has on record for your address doesn't match what you put into store - so the bank rejects the payment.
You may need to double check and make sure your address you're putting in matches what the bank has on record.

Additionally you may need to contact your bank and explain things as sometimes they just block online payments because they somehow flag DnDBeyond as an unexpected transaction and block it.

Hey, is there any information on when will the saving throw and ability check rolls be fixed so that the digital dice will start rollin on left mouse click?
(It is possible to right click and then select the roll, but it is bit inconvenient and also my plugin (beyond20) doesn't get it to move the roll to roll20. I was first sure it was an issue with the plugin or the VTT, but then I realized it is not giving the roll with left mouse button even on the D&Dbeyond game log.)

If you're using a third party extension or add-on and are experiencing issues, the first thing you should is fully disable or better yet remove the extension and try again

If you want it to show up both ways, you'd need to Add Spell twice -- once for each version.

So for one you'd set "Number of Uses" to "1", and for the other you'd set "Consumes Spell Slot" to "Yes".

All the other settings should be the same for both.

Sometimes homebrew edits can take up to 15 minutes to appear.

Beyond that, I'm not sure. Best advice would be to look for an official race that does that. Then you can make a homebrew copy and see exactly how they set it up.

Quick question, when using the find steed paladin second level spell, how do I make a warhorse appear in the encounter with its own initiative under the control of the player that casted it? D&D Beyond doesn't do pdfs
When you order the digital + physical bundle, you'll be emailed a code to redeem on D&D Beyond. Redeeming that code will grant you the pre order bonuses

Yes, and that's why I answered: the books will be available on their individual release days.

So the PHB, for example, will be available on Sept. 17.
