I don't know right now I'm afraid
That's very sad - I feel like this is not covered anymore on DDB.. this was one of its strength - It's very US heavy now
I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm saying I don't know right this moment
You pinged me with a question I don't have the immediate answer to
Can you direct me as to where I might get an answer?
No problem, not trying to undermine you. It's just been swinging in the chord for a while đ
There is no need to ping me
Does this mean if I put the digital bundle in my cart and then add a physical PHB it still counts the three digital in the cart as a bundle? Or does the physical+digital bundle supersede the bonuses. Iâm just worried since it changes the digital PHB price to be the Physical+Digital amount of $10 it wonât recognize the purchase as the digital bundle for the perks.
So apparently the pre-order for the physical player's handbook is out of stock? So I can't even add the full digital/physical bundle to my cart
How is the pre-order out of stock?
Had the bundle in my cart, but now can't check out due to the PHB being out of stock. "Your shopping cart cannot be ordered since one or more of the products in your cart are not available in the requested quantity. Please check availability for each product." đ
Hi everyone, I have another question, when creating a homebrew weapon is there any way completely from scratch? So that the default characteristics of the base weapon being used do not appear.
This is downright embarrassing. What is the point of a pre-order before the books go to print if you can sell out within hours of the books being announced
I want to order all of the books physical and digital. I was even going to start using dnd beyond when the swapover to the new edition happened. Now I might as well wait until I can actually get the books on a better service
Let me ask around behind the scenes.
Thank you! I'm literally trying to spend money and can't.
@frozen basalt It switched from out of stock to low stock, and I was able to complete my order. I'd try refreshing.
nope, still showing as out of stock
I've been told it's not meant to show out of stock, and that the issue is being worked on.
I'm glad they at least disabled adding the bundle to the cart. If you didnt' catch it, you would have orderd everything but the players handbook and wouldn't have gotten the proper discount either
where might I enquire about preorder bonuses on d&d beyond for purchases from outside the US? Not about the discount, but the Bonuses - they usually are applied, but as the complete bundle is only available on ddb I ask here. Thank you.
In the past, preorder bonuses have applied for purchases through dndstore.wizards.com, which handles shipping for other countries.
But let me see if I can get an explicit confirmation that's still the case here.
Is it intentional that https://dndstore.wizards.com/eu doesn't have the full bundle?
If I were to buy them currently I'd pay 30$ more just because I'm outside the US.
- Prices were rounded and converted to $ for easy math
I can ask about that one, too.
Please do that đ I'll check in a few days/end of month so no need to tag me here if that means more work. Yall probably got already enough to do currently
thank you so much - I ask, because the complete bundle is not available and I really do not want to miss on the bonuses - especially as I already have almost everything else đ
Can you also ask if getting the digital bundle and then adding a physical copy of the PHB maintains the âbundleâ status so I can get the bonuses? Iâm worried that adding in a physical copy to give me the physical+digital discount will not consider it the full digital bundle
I agree and support this statement!
How do I preorder the physical/digital bundle the order tab is grayed out
For the 2024 rules
There is a current issue with the physical phb being marked as out of stock, so no physical bundles can be ordered currently. They are working on remedying that apparently
Only phb or all 3 books
only the phb is having the stock issue, but since it is required for the bundle, the bundle is unavailable until the issue is fixed
Thanks
I've passed along the question. I'll let you know what I hear.
Looks like the phb and the bundle are available again
Showing as available for me as well. đ
Not here
ctrl+f5 for a full refresh, just in case your local cache is biting you. otherwise, it's general interweb propgation and should catch up to you shortly
what a rollercoaster!
Is that now available for you as well?
There is not. Depending on what you're building, though, you might be able to do it as a custom action directly on the character sheet instead. Head to the Actions tab and click "Manage Custom" in the top right corner.
Alternatively, you might consider pairing it with a homebrew feat for additional flexibility.
I just need the primary damage to be 2d6 fire damage and not piercing, and the range to be 30/90 ft and not 50/150. But the default statistics of the base weapon continue to appear on the sheet.
Purchasing any of the bundles on dndstore.wizards.com does indeed qualify for the DDB preorder bonuses.
So paypal seems to still not be working for orders from Canada, saying payment option invalid. When I look at the error in the dev console paypal error says the 'state field is mandatory for this country'.
However there's no where to input a state (province) for Canada on the DDB address form.
I'll pass that along to the team.
To confirm, the preorder bonuses (D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, Dragons of D&D digital art book) are not available yet? I just purchased the digital 2024 core rulebooks bundle and sync'd entitlements and there's nothing showing a special license for these preorder bonuses, so I wanted to double check that it's applied correctly.
Forget it, I already solved it, I'm happy again
I just needed to use the "Replace Damage Type" modifier.
I don't believe they are (in my experience, preorder bonuses haven't typically been available on the first day of preorders), but I can try and ask for confirmation.
Okay. All good if true, just wanted to make sure things are good for me and I don't need to open a ticket haha.
Yeah, the bonuses themselves are not available yet.
Cheers!
thank you so much!! I can finally get me my bundles đ
Oh I just realised! Do they also qualify for the (D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, Dragons of D&D digital art book) as on DDB they are only advertised in the Complete Bundle? Sorry, for not asking correctly th efirst time đŚ Or are these the preorder boni?
Those are the preorder bonuses. You do get those bonuses for purchases on dndstore.wizards.com.
So it turns out the all-in-one bundle on DDB is really only there for convenience. It doesn't provide any additional discount itself. In fact, if you were to add all six items to your cart separately, it would come to the same price: $49.99 for each physical book and $10 for each digital one.
So while https://dndstore.wizards.com/eu doesn't have the same all-in-one convenience option, you're not missing out on any further discounts. Buying the three individual bundles would provide the same items at the same cost.
As for why the EU pricing doesn't equal the US pricing, I don't know, but I'd presume it's due to differences in taxes or shipping costs or such.
OOfff... of course as usual T__T
Thanks for letting me know, though I personally would love the same convenience for the EU store as the US got with a full bundle xD
I can certainly pass that feedback along.
Just fyi - I was able to set the province manually in the console as the data was being sent to paypal after clicking the paypal button.
The order processed correctly - email confirmation and all. So it should be the only problem for orders in Canada or other countries that require province/state codes to process paypal orders.
No date has been announced. The preorder bonuses are not available today.
i keep getting this when opening my character sheet
Sorry to tag you, but if I was to pre-order the players handbook book via the wizards site for EU / UK, you're telling me I do get the pre-order bonues?
Yes
I just can't seem to see anywhere that says any of this is all
And obviously I don't want to loose out as you can guess but I don't live in the US so I can't order it from there.
Yeah, I don't think it's stated on the site itself for whatever reason.
But I've passed along the feedback in hopes of getting that clarification added.
There's also no bundle =/
Nevertheless, I've been directly told that those purchases do get the DDB preorder bonuses.
â¤ď¸
So are the pre-order bonuses directly related to buying just one book? I can't really afford all three right now
Yeah, purchasing any one of them will unlock the bonuses.
Nice, it's a shame there is no bundle on the EU / UK site
As noted here #ddb-support message, the all-in-one bundle on DDB is really just a convenience option.
You're not missing out on anything more by not having that same convenience option there; it just takes a couple extra clicks to get the same thing.
Thanks, I know you understand we just want to make sure it's all fair haha
So say I pre-order the books on wizards eu, does that give me a code to use on D&D Beyond?
Yep! You should get it in the confirmation email after purchase.
Nice~
Essentially, as long as you all three of the digital in the cart it considered the bundle for the bonus pre-order perks? Even if I throw in just one of the three books for physical?
I have a question... I run an afterschool DnD club and in the past have gotten support from DnD Beyond to help make the game more accessible to my students. Is this support going to continue with the release of the new edition?
There's no new edition coming
The new core rulebooks are still D&D fifth edition, as stated on their product pages
Introducing the 2024 Player's Handbook, the new and improved guide for fifth edition DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Packed with endless character options, striking illustrations, and a streamlined design, every part of this 384-page book is a joy to experience.
From the PHB 2024 page
As for support for schools, clubs, etc, there's been no announcement about that changing
ah excuse my misuse of the word "edition" - I use that just as a ease of phrase. I will be more specific. With the release of DnD one and the new core rulebooks will DnD beyond continue to support afterschool DnD clubs by offering free digital access to materials that will help the students experience everything DnD has to offer
As for support for schools, clubs, etc, there's been no announcement about that changing
That is great news! It can all be a bit confusing because the last time I had to make arrangements with DnD beyond it was owned by someone else and the Marketplace looked much different. But 3 years ago my club was offered a free bundle (I can't recall the exact name, something like legendary bundle) that helped us to get started. I'm not sure now who I should contact about receiving a copy of the new books for my club... Is this the correct place? Or is there someone I can email?
Please note, all I said is that there has been no announcement about that changing. That is not a guarantee either way
And I would advise you continue to use whatever channels you have used historically
Im making a barbarian sublass from a homebrew book i got, and it makes it so the barbarian can cast cantrips from one of three chosen sections. How do i implement this in dnd beyond?
This is how its described in the book; i need the Hermit one to work:

I understand what you are saying, thank you for your help. The channels I have used before, the ticket system in dnd beyond look much different now but that is probably my best path forward. Thank you so much!
Hey guys, quick question...trying to use D&D Beyond for the first time, making a character mentions "if something is missing, unlock it via the marketplace". Do I just buy digital copies of books to have the content magically unlocked for me in the character creator...? That part isn't super clear
Yes, you cannot use non-free content in the tools without either purchasing it or having it shared with you
There an easy way to tell exactly what book I'd need to purchase? For example, I found the quote above when looking under Otherwordly Patrons for a Warlock build, but have no idea what book that'd be in
Will there be an option to select new vs legacy PHB content in DNDBeyond? How will that work?
Or the old racial stat system versus the new background stats?
Googling or asking in #dnd-discussion for which book your specific subclass that you want is in will be faster than anything else tbh.
ok thank you
Nothing has yet been announced on how the new books will be presented and managed within DnDBeyond's tools.
You can use the "Spells" section in that last screenshot to add any spells you like.
To give them all those spells, you'd need to "Add a Spell" for each one. (If you try to list them all in a single entry, it will prompt the player to choose between them.)
if i did not get the bundle discount is there a way to get that partial refund?
sorry just realized that it did not apply when i ordered but seems to have been fixed now.
you can put in a customer service ticket: https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=15371829468308&tf_subject=Bundle Owner Discount
thanks!
Any luck with this?
disappointed there is no discount for digital only bundle, I see not benefit to the pre-purchase so will wait till they are actually published then decide.
Hey all, I am trying to setup my custom homebrew race in beyond, Bonus - Dexterity Score DEX 2
When I go to create my character, I'm not getting any Racial Bonuses. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Switched it to Bonus - Choose an Ability Score to increase by 2 DEX 2 and still not getting anything
Homebrew edits can sometimes take up to 15 minutes to appear on your sheet.
But you might also need to set Fixed Value: 2.
Yeah I have that done
Do you know if I want the modifier to be
Bonus - Dexterity Score, Dex, 2
or
Bonus - Choose an Ability Score to increase by 2 , Dex, 2
you are trying to give them a flat +2?
Trying to give this
Ability Score Increase
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2. Charisma score increases by 1.
if you know a race that gives those already, you can copy it and see how they set it up
This is a lot more complicated than it should be, but I appreciate the control it gives. I wish there were tutorials or something
- Type: Bonus
- Subtype: Dexterity Score
- Fixed Value: 2
What is the difference between errata and new core rule books?
If this is still 5th edition, and there is a new publishing of official rules, shouldn't that be made freely available to everyone that already bought these books on DnDBeyond?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/rules-game-mechanics/8760-official-wizards-of-the-coast-errata
D&D Beyond will always update to reflect the most recent wording of the Dungeons & Dragons rules, as released by Wizards of the Coast.
For reference,...
er¡ra¡tum
noun
plural noun: errata
an error in printing or writing.
a list of corrected errors appended to a book or published in a subsequent issue of a journal.
Itâs the difference between a bug patch in a video game and a remaster.
the new books are new rules and info, not a correction of the old
but they have the same publication title, it's not titled remaster?
Most remasters arenât titled âremasterâ.
For one recent example: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door-switch/
do most game publishers offer a digital service with the terms that users agree with to display the most recent publication of the rules for "players hand book" etc?
Itâs about the level of effort. The list of changes applied as errata to the existing PHB fills five pages.
https://media.wizards.com/2020/dnd/downloads/PH-Errata.pdf
The list of changes in the new PHB are enough to fill an entire book.
if they are variant rules I agree with your interpretation
I donât understand what youâre asking here. Sorry. đ
Effectively, yes.
effectively, or in publication?
because if DDB support walked back declining the legendary discount on the new core books, arent they confirming it's the same content?
They said in the video today the new book has a line something like âIf you choose to use this set of rules, it replaces the rules in the 2014 PHB.â
which is great for people that only use the books. However the terms for DDB is to show the most recent rules as errata
It is almost an entirely new set of rules, that just happens to be compatible with most of current 5e
Respectfully, thatâs not really what happened, and thatâs not what that means. đ
The new books are and always have been fifth edition.
Itâs not errata.
And itâs not even the first case where newer design has effectively supplanted older books.
If you want to continue playing D&D with the 2014 core rulebooks, theyâll still work with all the new adventures coming out.
If you want to play with the 2024 core rulebooks, theyâll continue to work with all the adventures that have already been released.
But given the effort involved, the new rules are not considered errata.
I think this is significantly different because of publication titles; you're refering to updated content in new books with new titles updating old content in old books with different titles...
This is PHB vs PHB
Thereâs countless examples in multiple kinds of media where newer things reuse older names.
one way or another, they are not going to give it away for free, so its really a moot point.
there's the consideration of how players use the content; and consumer protections that prevent double billing clients
No oneâs being double billed because itâs not the same book.
DDB set the precedent today that the new rules aren't new enough to not be discounted
It fills the same role. It has the same name. Itâs not the same book.
Again, thatâs not what happened.
There was an error that failed to apply the previous discounts. When it was brought to attention, that error was corrected.
The rules being ânew enoughâ or not had nothing to do with it.
If you feel the new book is tantamount to being double-charged, youâre not required to purchase it. Youâre welcome to continue playing with the existing 2014 rules.
Do you know about the Lanham act? These are being marketed as the new core rule books. not an optional thing, core. The same name as something people already bought.
But as soon as anyone buys the new one, have they been mislead?
It sounds like yes, if they read in the new PHB, that the old PHB is the base core?
Because if that's what the new book says, you need to buy the old book to make that choice, right?
Do you have a support question? Or are you arguing semantics?
This channel is for getting technical support for DnDBeyond tools and services
It boils down to: why aren't customers on DDB getting the new version of a book with the same title they paid for already- if the terms users agreed to is for DDB to show the most recent rules of a book? I also emailed support, I'm sorry if it's beyond the scope of the mods here to answer.
It seems really important to define what is "errata" when a 5e book is published with the same name and marketed as part of the "new core" set; especially when considering the "old core" books are still offered in the DDB marketplace being sold separately- despite terms users have agreed to.
At the end of the day it's a new product. Whether you chose to buy it or not is up to you. It's not erratta, it does not replace the 2014 Players Handbook, it's just a new product that can be used alongside and with the 2014 Players Handbook.
Or replace the 2014 Players Handbook too.
If you have further questions, I'd direct you to Customer Support.
It just seems like the errata policy of DDB means that there should never be two offerings of the same name in the DDB marketplace..
I'm not anti any mod here or trying to be personal about this, it's strictly a policy question and I do appreciate any engagement about the issue I've raised etc.
Thank you.
Even the last PHB was the sixth book to be called âPlayerâs Handbookâ. Now thereâs seven. Theyâre all still different books with different content.
but currently consumers can only buy 2 on DDB, not all of them, which is the inconsitency where the DDB policy is to show/sell only the most recent
can you link to this policy you are mentioning?
this is the forum post, which is still updated as far as I can tell with other current errata examples
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/rules-game-mechanics/8760-official-wizards-of-the-coast-errata
I actually had trouble finding a T&A page at all
I'm not seeing the 2024 rulebooks listed there as errata, nor is this any kind of TOS or policy page
I'm not seeing errata mentioned on that page either
hm, I know the errata policy post is referred to a ton in official organized AL play, which has it's own merits for argument in WPN stores with 2 "core" sets on the shelves soon too..
And that post gets referred to in customer support examples (maybe the FAQ?) reference to "why my feature is different on DDB?"
that appears to be from a different page than the one you linked
this page fromg that one:
https://company.wizards.com/en/legal/terms
also, you have highlighted updates there, but that is pertaining to the software and the site, not the content of the books
i would argue most of the site is the content of the books
and even then, it does not say anything about what you are saying is policy
ok, but then why does not the marketplace sell every version of every book
just the most recent
because they reserve the right to modify the availability of all the content on their marketplace, per section 4.7 in that first link
or section 5 of the second, under dndbeyond
thats your opinion, but it isnt what it says, and it clearly states at their discretion
they have the right to fix whatever they want, not the obligation
but then they cant market ddb as the msot up to date accurate representation of 5e with these book titles
otherwise misleading
is there a more accurate up to date representation?
of what?
of 5e
the published books? Which will now include 3*2 of the same title, and then only the most recent of the other titles
the site will in fact have all the same information the books do im sure
I'm not an attorney, but it seems so disingenuous and misleading to offer a "new" version of a book, giving it the same name, and it actually being optionally totally new content. Especially for the hundreds of stores registered in WPN offering official WPN AL play..
the point im making, is that there is nothing saying they cant list "the same title" for two products, especially when they have lead an extensive, multiyear advertising campaign highlighting the differences
how many sales are people like, oh I thought I bought that core book already?
if official AL play discontinues the old publication versions of things, then should the Consumer Protection Bureau raise more than an eyebrow?
there's a limit to this company is just doing new things, vs exploiting it's subscribers
I can't chime in on AL play, but i can tell you no one is likely to mix the books up, just given the extent of wizards pushing the 2024 title of the new books. the ISBN will be different as well. i would be willing to put money on packaging etc making it clear, as well as print on the back of the book that clearly states it is a revised and expanded edition
@sharp flame what is your support question?
If you do not have a support question, I am going to ask you refrain from posting in this channel as off topic posting is against server rules
For anyone who has purchased the 2024 books via the EU/UK store, did the activation codes for digital versions work? Trying to redeem the code in my case results in an error - not sure if the codes will activate closer to the release date?
You're best off contacting customer service
If you have an issue with D&D Beyond purchases or subscriptions, you may need to contact customer support. To do so, please go to http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket and submit a ticket.
Important
- You will need to make an account for the support ticket system. This is not your D&D Beyond account.
- Tickets are responded to in the order they are received and response times depend on how busy the support team is.
- Tickets are grouped by user based on the most recent ticket. Do not submit multiple tickets for the same issue. This will push you down the queue
- The customer support team is active Monday-Friday and work US hours. This means you may not get a response based on your local timezone or weekends.
Mine did too, but if you go to "Licenses" in your account in D&D Beyond you will see it listed there
Have y'all ever bought content and it not show up? (and no it's not on my entitlements either) I've put in 2 tickets and still haven't received word from anyone. This was my first purchase too, definitely not doing that again. Lol
If you've put in two tickets, you'll have pushed yourself to the bottom of the queue with your second one
The more you know
If you've made a purchase, check the following
- The transaction was approved by your bank and successfully debited
- The content license is in your account
- You're looking in the right place for your content
- That the content isn't behind a toggle such as Dragonlance, Eberron, or Critical Role
What is it you purchased?
I'm just in a time crunch trying to set up for this weekend. This is very inconvenient when it's supposed to be the opposite.
Yes the took the money.
I have looked everywhere
Again, what was it you purchased?
Monsters of the Multiverse
Does it show up here: https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/account/orders
What happens when you try to access content from the book?
Was it perhaps ordered as a gift instead?
No, I thought that too at first, and double checked receipt, but no its not a gift.
You should see it here if that was the case:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/my-gifts
The 24 DM & PHB Book codes seem to not work properly for me. When I tried to redeem the code it gave me the beholder error page and now is showing this
@teal oracleCheck your licenses. If it doesn't show there, contact customer support

would be these ones right?
yes
sweet, then dunno what the trouble was but I got them đ
How do I access Homebrew content on the app?
Homebrew content added to characters will be visible on the sheet
You cannot browse homebrew content on the app
Are there plans to bring it to the app?
Nothing has been announced
Shame. Mobile Internet browser it is
Sorry, Yesterday i tried to reedem the code of the core rulebooks on dndbeyond but It gave me error 500.
Today i tried again but the Key i used looks like it Is already used. I dont know if the Digital versions are on my account.
You can check by looking at your licenses
Go to your account and click the licenses tab
Thanks
Nothing, i'll contact the support i think at this point
Sounds like the digital purchases are not working too good right now. This might have been the worst time for me to decide to make my first purchase on DDB. Lol.
There are all different issues. You're best off submitting a support ticket

So, me again. Sorry. Question concerning purchases in EU/UK store and preorder Bonuses. Usually on DDB under entitlements and/or licenses the preorder bonus is listed seperately, but not with the new 2024 books. The books themselves do show up, but not the preorder bonuses - is that expected behaviour or should I be worried? đ
Im in the US.
EU is having the same issue, thats why i said it
Hello! So with the 2024 books coming out I've been wondering, if we already own the old version will we be getting the updated stuff for free? Or will we need to pay even more on top of any subscriptions/other books we've paid for? I apologize if this question has already been asked!
No, they are different books, so you will have to buy them separately. This isnât an errata.
Thanks for your answer! I'll wait for the mods to give the same one! <3
Dusk is correct - the new books are new products and are not updates to the 2014 material in the same way that errata is.
Cool! I'll be sure to save up what money I can to buy yet another book!
Thank youuu~!
Are maps down again?
The map that I was viewing was corrupted. We had a few people playing with the overlay tools when it crashed.
Iâm having trouble whenever I try to build a warlock. Every time I get them up to level 3, the previous spell slots and list disappear to be replaced by the new ones. Is this normal? Probably not. L
That is how the Warlock works. You only have 1/2/3/4 spell slots total and they are always of the highest level.
As a EU citizen, where should I go to preorder the Core Rulebook Bundle? The partner site only has individual bundles for each book, not a bundle for all three core books, as far as I can tell...
I'm also worried about this. No Pre-Order bonuses in the EU, no dice, no artbook đŤ
Hi đ . I have placed an order from dndbeyond (18th of June) and have yet to see a receipt. I also don't see the order in the "my orders" page (my bank has already reserved the sum). As I would like to make changes to this order, it would be really good to have an order number at the very least đ .
There is no discount for getting the three-book-bundle, it is simply a convenience option. As such, as an EU customer, you are not missing out on anything by having to purchase each of the book bundles individually
As far as I'm aware, pre-order bonuses are available for any bundle purchase through any of the marketplaces; D&D Beyond, UK store, or EU store. For UK/EU stores, this means purchasing any of the digital + physical bundles should (again, as far as I am aware) grant you the digital pre-order bonuses
You would have to contact customer support, no one here can provide you with the level of support you need
Thanks for your answer. I don't see the bonuses anywhere listed, so I guess I'll write to Customer Support EU to make sure how to proceed.
They're listed on the D&D Beyond marketplace:
- Dragons of D&D digital art book
- D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set*
- 50th anniversary digital Gold Dragon mini, releasing with the closed beta of the upcoming 3D virtual tabletop*
They're all digital bonuses delivered via D&D Beyond or directly
Thank you. That was definitely not clear to me. I suspect it is also not clear to others. Where should I write to encourage them to make a core book bundle on the EU site?
I am chasing up confirmation on the pre-order bonuses and any relevant change to listings to reflect that
Not on the EU purchase site. But maybe I am looking at the wrong page
I'm aware, that's why I directed you to where it is listed
That feedback has been passed along prior to right now
Products shipping outside the US,
checkout on our partner site â
Excellent - I'll wait a bit before preordering then. Thank you for your help đ
Also in the Beyond Marketplace, they redirect me to the EU site
I was simply directing you to where you can see what the pre-order bonuses are
I have already asked for confirmation on non-D&D Beyond marketplace purchases receiving the digital bundle pre-order bonuses
I can't do anything more than that right now
Thanks for your help!
Hello, I have a question. Does anyone know if it will be possible to mix old subclasses with the new PHB 2024 in D&D Beyond?
Nothing has been announced
Ah ok, then i will wait for The Release. I Hope it will be possible.
Pls correct me if I am wrong if this is pre order u getting even digital book in september not now?
Pre-orders themselves do not grant early access
If you have a master tier subscription and pre-order, you will get early access
I believe it's 2 weeks early access
Under no circumstances will you get the books now though
September 3rd for Master tier subscriber, September 10 for Hero tier subscriber
Am I missing the digital bundle for the new rulebooks on DnDbeyond? I can only find one for physical and digital together
Do you mean a bundle of just the D&D Beyond versions?
I found it https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/core-rulebook-digital-bundle
But looks like I got the same thing from manually adding the books to cart, I hope I still get the preorder bonuses đ¤?
Unlock the 2024 core rulebooks on D&D BEYOND with the Digital Core Rulebook Bundle and get these exclusive digital bonuses: Dragons of D&D digital art book, D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, and a 50th anniversary digital Gold Dragon mini releasing with the closed beta of the upcoming 3D virtual tabletop.
Bundle with the physical format to save...
why have they limited this to US only?
sorry, the physical and digital version on dnd beyond?
They're not, you just have to go through a different marketplace currently
dndstore.wizards.com (and it should autodirect you to either the UK or EU store)
theres a link, and the digital and physical bundle isn't available and you dont get all the dnd beyond exclusives, cause your buying it from wizards, not dnd beyond
The digital + physical bundles are available, that marketplace only sells those bundles
As far as I'm aware, the bonuses are awarded for pre-ordering but I've asked for clarification on that
so just not as an easy bundle, have to get all three individually?
The 6 part bundle (all three books physical and all three digital) is not available outside the D&D Beyond marketplace, but that doesn't mean you miss out on any savings
You just have to add all three digital+physical bundles to your cart individually
yeah i have notices this, so there should be a caveat on the dnd beond store that the 6 part bundle is avaliable US only
I'm having the same issue, I purchased a book the same day. However, I did get a receipt through my email, and I'm able to see it in my purchases, but I'm unable access the book still.
The 6 part bundle on the D&D Beyond marketplace is not any cheaper than buying the 3 digital+physical bundles individually, it's just marginally more convenient
Same response, contact customer support

The D&D Beyond store in its entirety is US only for purchases including physical copies
That's why we have this note
How I have, how long before they respond usually?
Given that their response times depend on how busy they are, there's no way for me to say I'm afraid
Just don't submit multiple tickets
thats disappointing as wizards owns both, so shouldn't be any issue.. đ¤ˇââď¸
There is an issue; shipping
It's not about who owns what, it's about where the books have to physically be fulfilled from
I'm definitely not.Lol
yeah, but this day in ages where wizards owns both dnd beyond and their own store and the products come from the same place now there is no need for resellers
just seems like extra steps fpor no reason
that's why the URL is dndstore.wizards.com
The extra step is because the orders are fulfilled from a different locale depending on where you're ordering to
This may change in the future and allow a consolidated point of ordering independent of where you are in the world, but currently that's not the case
yeah, something they could manage on the back end, not make the customer have to use a different site, or also use an auto redirect.
also how do i know they something im purchasing from not dnd beyond will work with dnd beyond
also how do i know they something im purchasing from not dnd beyond will work with dnd beyond
Because it says this
And an auto-redirect wouldn't work for people who just want to buy the digital version, which is still handled through the D&D Beyond marketplace
just saw that
seems more complex that it needs to be
It is currently exactly as complex as it needs to be, no more, no less
we will have to disagree
dndstore.wizards.com is only for purchasing digital+physical bundles, and only because of how physical orders have to be fulfilled
thanks for answering my questions though
If you want just digital copies, you can go through the D&D Beyond marketplace as has always been the case
but its not if i live in the US and want the physical+digital bundle, then i can use the dnd beyond marketplace
one site for US cusomers, another for the rest of the world
Yes, like amazon.com and amazon.co.uk
But I believe everything has been explained
How will I know the answer to this? Where should I keep an eye on? I am holding my pre order until this is clarified.
Thanks!
I don't know
/hoping for clarification on when the bonuses will be available
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could answer my questions regarding character creation and the new 2024 players handbook, I am mainly wondering if the 2014 players handbook and character creation method will still be usable on dnd beyond after the 2024 rulebooks come out, or if it will exclusively be the 2024 edition character creation rules moving forward
No announcement has been made yet on how the new books/rule options will be managed inside of DnDBeyond's tools and services - but I expect it will look similar to how DnDBeyond's tools and services have adapted to other book releases.
Ok, thank you for your time
Hiya! Does anyone know we are going to able to get the 3 2024 book bundle in the UK, as it only appears to available in the US at the mo. đ
You can buy each individual bundle and still have the same savings as the dndbeyond "buy all three" bundle product. The savings are the same.
I don't know if the UK store will be updated to provide a single "buy all three" bundle like the dndbeyond store. See previous discussion above.
If you have further questions, I'd recommend reaching out to customer support.
Oh ok, makes sense! Thanks :^)
Have we had any word on how the new PHB will work with DND Beyond? Like, if I buy it will it overwrite anything for characters I'm already using in the old 5e rule set. Can I still creature characters with the old rules or will I be forced to use the new rules?
Nothingâs been announced yet.
Thats a shame, don't plan on pre-ordering anything until I know
Are we able to buy the books in the EU yet?
EU book purchasing has been available since day one of D&D Beyond, and from the beginning of bundles via dndstore.wizards.com
As such, I don't fully understand what you mean by "yet"
the purchase is not going through
You may need to contact customer support for further support
Go to the EU store
there is a separate EU store?
If you're looking to purchase both the physical and digital versions together, yes.
only the digital one
If you're trying to get just the digital only, you should stick to dndbeyond.com
In what way does the purchase not go through? Is there an error message, or...?
yes, it says the payment can't go through
Any kind of error code or anything more specific?
Hmm
You could try checking with your bank to make sure they haven't blocked the transaction.
Otherwise, your best bet is probably to contact customer support.
?tag ddb support
D&D Beyond customer support can be contacted at the link below. Requests are answered in the order they're received. Submitting multiple requests for the same issue can result in a delayed response.
http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
I was able to do it
It may seem that Romania is not being able to get the payment processed
how do I get early access to the 2024 core rulebooks? It seems to not work for me, even though I have a master tier subscription
Early access is 2 weeks for master tier and 1 week for hero tier,
You won't be able to access it now
so, 2 weeks BEFORE the book releases?
correct
okay, thanks
For the Player's Handbook:
- Sept 3: Early access in US/CAN local game stores, and on DDB for Master Tier subscribers
- Sept 10: Early access on DDB for Hero Tier subscribers
- Sept 17: Available everywhere
I have a rod of the pact keeper on my warlock, and for some reason some of my can trips and spells are not getting the +2 bonus? Is that a bug or is it a rule thiny
The ones I noticed it on are the ones I got from my pact of the tome cantrips
Ray of sickness from shadow touched also doesn't get the bonus
Hello I have a question! If I buy a physical book THROUGH dnd beyond, will I automatically get the character creation options associated with that book? Or is that something that I find elsewhere?
No, you need to buy the digital version, either on it's own or as part of a digital + physical bundle
Okay cool. So if I buy the digitial version from the marketplace, Ill get a pdf of the book, and unlock the options?
No, you get the D&D Beyond version. Wizards of the Coast doesn't do PDF versions of hard cover books
not sure if this is the right channel, as it's not technically DnDBeyond -- I was thinking of buying the big digital + physical bundle, and beyond told me to go to the EU site for orders outside the US. fine, but the EU site doesn't seem to have the same bundle. I can buy each book separately, but that is then more expensive ($180 vs 195 EUR). is the bundle not available outside the US?
So, I contacted support. EU customer don't have any bonuses. Those apply to US store only. So it's confirmed, sadly. Here's the message I got:
Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast customer support. Customers outside the United States are able to purchase the three core rulebook bundles separately on the appropriate D&D Store. At this time offers in the D&D Beyond Marketplace are valid in the US only
We hope that this answers your question and apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
That price difference is due to sales tax not being included in the listings for the DDB marketplace, but it is included for UK/EU marketplaces
It's not because of the bundle for all 3 digital+physical bundles, which offers convenience but no actual additional savings
Thatâs uhm kinda dumb, since weâre paying the same price but ok
understood, thanks
There is no bonus in price - and according to the general consensus (and the mods), EU also gets preorder bonus
No bonuses for EU. See the answer. I asked specifically for that
@wild urchin We have chased this up for official clarification; please don't relay responses to your specific questions as being official responses as this can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications
Then I will hold my order and hopefully I got wrong information and bonuses will be available also for EU customers

Like I said, a request for explicit clarification without needing to contact customer services has been run up
Hopefully we'll have that soon
I purchased on DnD Beyond the Locthah Rising to have access to the Locathah "Species" , but after buying it does not show up as a "Species" on "Species" Drop down menu.
Have you enabled non-core content?
Thanks ... seems to have done that ... good golly ... jumping thru hoops.
@wild urchin@raven wraith@median beacon@prisma bough
I've chased this up and received confirmation; the bonuses listed on the D&D Beyond markplace (the digital art book, digital mini, and dice) are only for pre-ordering the 3 or 6 product bundle (3 core books digital, 3 core books physical, or 3 core books physical+digitial) and as such are not available outside the US. Other pre-order bonuses still apply though
Not the ones listed on the D&D Beyond markeplace page for the 6-product bundle I'm afraid
Could you clarify what the digital bundle receives please
As I said, it's listed on the D&D Beyond marketplace
Okay, so then I am confused, because--
That is in direct contradiction to what you just said. I preordered the 3-product digital core rulebook bundle, which says it comes with those same preorder bonuses.
My error, I just double checked and the lack of an 's' in the message I read through me
It's any 3-product bundle or the 6-product bundle
apologies
All good just wanted to check
Cool. Sounds good! đ
The short version is they aren't available outside the D&D Beyond marketplace I'm afraid
This is rather unfortunate
Can you direct me as to where I may be able to get a refund or put in an official complaint for outside US (EU here). This is a bad change from how it was handle up until now and should not be the continued practice.
Please contact customer service: https://dnd-support.wizards.com/
To clarify, preorders on that site have always included the book-specific preorder bonuses, and that has not changed.
Itâs only the new bundle-specific bonuses that are available for DDB bundle purchases only.
I understand, thanks. But this doesn't work for me. I want those preorder boni and the digital & physical books. Which I have no chance of getting - so why get anything at all đŚ
Hold on - if I get the digital bundle on ddb and the physical one on the wizards store I get the boni right?
The DDB-only bonuses (beyond the standard preorder perks) are only available through purchasing the bundles through DnDBeyond - which basically makes it a bonus only available to US customers.
The three-book digital bundle on DDB would indeed unlock both the book-specific and bundle-specific bonuses.
And that bundle can be purchased from anywhere.
Thank you both - then I need to contact DDB Support to help me get things sorted
this works perfectly. Thanks
Hey if i buy a book irl am i able to access the book on the app
If you buy the book on DnDBeyond and your app is connected to that DnDBeyond account that bought the book, then yes, you can download that book to the app and read and use it there.
However, if by "IRL" you mean buying a physical book through an in person store, no
Ah thank you
There are no codes or redemption mechanisms for physical books not bought through the D&D Beyond Marketplace or dndstore.wizards.com
?books
There are four ways to access content on D&D Beyond that you may have in your physical books
- Purchase the full digital book from the marketplace
- Purchase a digital/physical bundle from the marketplace
- Join a DnDBeyond campaign with someone who already owns the book where content sharing has been enabled
- Use the homebrew tools to copy the content from your physical book into D&D Beyond. Note: Do not publish any content copied in this way, it is for personal use only
Hello, does the bundle with the 3 books (including art book) only available in usa?
The 2024 Physical Core Rulebook Bundle and the 2024 Digital and Physical Core Rulebook Bundle are both only available to ship within the US
You can purchase the 2024 Digital Core Rulebook Bundle world wide
For physical + digital bundle purchases outside the US, please use dndstore.wizards.com
So because im in Canada I cant have these? đŽ
Dragons of D&D digital art book, D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, and a 50th anniversary digital Gold Dragon mini releasing with the closed beta of the upcoming 3D virtual tabletop.
Those exclusive pre-order bonuses are available as part of the 2024 Digital Core Rulebook Bundle, which is available globally because there is no physical product that needs to be shipped (physical products ordered from the D&D Beyond marketplace can only be shipped within the US)
Unlock the 2024 core rulebooks on D&D BEYOND with the Digital Core Rulebook Bundle and get these exclusive digital bonuses: Dragons of D&D digital art book, D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, and a 50th anniversary digital Gold Dragon mini releasing with the closed beta of the upcoming 3D virtual tabletop.
Bundle with the physical format to save...
Ok so I could buy digital via this (usa) marketplace to get these bonuses. But in the dndstore.wizards.com website I dont find any way to only get physical (because I would have already bought the digital) đ¤
Correct, dndstore.wizards.com only sells digital + physical bundles
I just preordered the digital/physical bundle but realized after placing the order Iâm moving before the ship date. I canât find where to change my shipping address. Sorry if this is the wrong channel for this.
Correct channel, your best bet would be to contact customer service
Failing that, depending on where you are in the world/where you're moving to, you can also set up a mail redirect (that's what I did when I moved last year and had some D&D books on order)
Ok thank you for your help!
No worries
Would I get the bonuses here for the Digi/Phys bundle? Also, I live in Australia, would I get the bonuses if I order through the Wizards Website? Sorry if it has already been answered
Based on what I've read the moderators confirm, you have to get one of the 3 or 6-item bundles on D&DBeyond to qualify for the preorder bonuses.
If you can do that from your country, you should be able to get them. If you can't, then you won't.
I don't personally have a good sense for which countries can/cannot achieve that since I live in the US.
Order that contain physical products, placed on the D&D Beyond marketplace, cannot be delivered outside the US
Orders that only contain digital products, placed on the D&D Beyond marketplace, have no shipping requirements can be fulfilled if you live outside the US
The exclusive pre-order bonuses:
Dragons of D&D digital art book, D&D BEYOND Gold Digital Dice set, and a 50th anniversary digital Gold Dragon mini releasing with the closed beta of the upcoming 3D virtual tabletop
Are only available with core rulebook bundles ordered through the D&D Beyond Marketplace
There are three core rulebook bundles:
- Digital only (can be ordered from anywhere)
- Physical only (US only)
- Digital + Physical (US only)
If you want to order a digital + physical bundle outside the US, you will need to use dndstore.wizards.com
If you want just digital products, use the D&D Beyond marketplace (global)
If you want just physical products outside the US, you will need to use another retailer
That's a good and comprehensive explanation. Cheers.
that answer needs to be pinned yo
Has it been revealed when the preorder bonuses (other than the dragon mini) will be available for use?
So uhm, are DDB going to keep supporting the older 5e stuff, once theyâve released the 2024 stuff (not sure what edition theyâre actually calling the 2024 release).
But I really donât want to move to it.
No date has been given yet.
I canât imagine why they wouldnât, but those details havenât been shared yet.
The physical books will be available in CAN game stores two weeks early.
It's all still D&D 5th edition
Oh I guess I got confused with all these names for it that keeps getting thrown around.
Go with what Wizards of the Coast calls things, they're the ones in charge of it. There are going to be two versions of the core rulebooks, the 2014 and the 2024 rules. I'm presuming that they'll stop printing the 2014 rules when the 2024 rules are released, but we as moderators don't really have much information ourselves. The most we've been able to do is send our own questions up and hope we can have some public announcements made to answer them.
my character is suddenly coming up with a 500 error and neither myself any of the other players or the dm can get access to it
it is only one of my characters though which is the weird thing
Did you have a subscription that has expired?
no never been subscribed
it is only effecting me and we all have magical items made by DM so if it were that it should have effected us all. It still works on the APP for some reason
Can you share a link to your character?
yes this I believe is the direct link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/86214967
is anyone else having trouble checking their character sheets?
i can pull mine up. using firefox
I think DDB is having quite a few issues....
dang, hope things get resolved before my session tomorrow, else that will be unfortunate since that is the only place my characters are currently stored for that campaign
It might be location-based? My West Coast (US) players can use it, my East Coast (US) players cannot
So if I have the old PHB when 2024 comes out what will happen to it? Will it stay where it is or vanish? I seen no news on it.
they won't take away your PHB, but they will most likely make it impossible for new people to buy it eventually, and other old 5e stuff may be slowly phased out for people who don't already own it as well
Ok thanks
currently sadly in my session T^T luckily I can still see something on app
UPDATE: I'm having the same problem with all my characters, even one of the provided pre-made characters with no edits. Is there a solution? Turns out it is only affecting Edge browser đŁ. Going to see if there's a wonky extension or something.
Hey folks having issues with character sheets! Can you please run a quick troubleshooting test for us?
- Disable all browser extensions (also make sure you're not using a VPN) and try accessing your sheet.
- Clear your browser cache, then quit your browser. Then fire it back up and re-login to your DDB account and try accessing your character sheet.
- Finally try accessing your character sheet using a different web browser and let us know if it works (assuming you're using web browser)
Let us know if any of these steps help or not.
So how do I apply hex weapon to a magic weapon on ddb won't let me
For reference I'm using a staff of skyblinding
Click on the item, then tick off the Hex Weapon box
I tried this but it doesn't show a box
Does the weapon meet the requirements for a hex weapon?
Its a quarterstaff
I think its not working because its a staff that can work like a magic qstaff?
Yeah it's versatile
So 1H or 2H, it's basically just +1 quarter staff with a bit more benefit
Yeah that item is working for me
Not sure why it's not working for you - are you using the official hexblade warlock sublcass or using a homebrew subclass?
Official hexblade, and what level hexblade are you?
Bc it doesn't give me the pact weapon option either
Level 15
Makes sense
Level doesnt really matter though, since Hex Warrior is level 1
Yeah - not sure what's happening. Maybe it's a caching issue. Maybe give it 10-15 minutes and come back and try it again.
Let me check if it's bc I'm attuned
Well I've been at it for 2 hrs
Fair enough
The hex works for a different weapon, just won't work for that specific item
I tried removing and readding it, same result
Oh you can only have one weapon selected for your hex weapon though.
Otherwise your second one needs to be your Pact weapon
Yes ik this
Can I get a link to your character sheet?
No weapon is chosen as of yet, I only stated that it gives me the option of choosing a different weapon
Ping me if you find anything wrong with it ima try and fix it on my end
Yeah I'm messing with it right now trying to figure out what's up. I wonder if it's because of the multiclassing but I can't see why that would impact it
Yeah there shouldn't be a reason it impacts it considering that it allows it worth other items/weapons
Maybe make a copy of this character and try it as a single classed hexblade warlock
What invocations do you have btw?
Bc I took 15 levels in warlock for a test to see if it's my char and ir let's me do it now, and I took improved pact weapon and thirsting blade to see if that was the issue
having issues with one of my characters (https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/68260265) that I keep getting the 'rolled a one' message - no one else in my campaign is having that issue, and if i make a copy of the character, the copy works but still not the original
FWIW, I do see the Hex Weapon option for this character.
Loads for me as well. đ¤
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
seems to be working now, guess it was just down for a bit (like an hour) - thanks for looking into it đ
Fwiw?
Also it's an option currently bc as I said I levels up the char 15 levels to test out what was blocking me
those first two did not work and i don't have another browser to use
DDB shows this, does this mean that If I pre-order the new rule books I can read then now or is there a date I can't find?
Master Tier subscribers get two weeks of early access and Hero Tier get one week.
thank you
i'm having the same issue
odd i am still getting the error when it try
huh, i can check my main character which i am using in a campaign, but i can't seem to view the one i made for the one shot, who was a green dragonborn bard
just checked, seems is just the one character that is not loading for some reason
Ddb sometime glitches like that best to make a copy
well saddly can't, was able to join the thing on dnd beyond with it for the oneshot, but it still will not load so i can't really copy any of the info i need down beyond the race and class/subclass
On the My Characters page, there should be an option to Copy each character.
It wouldnât require opening the character itself.
So it canât hurt to try.
Is there a way to manually override your proficiency bonus and/or to add an epic boon to your character sheet?
You can raise it via homebrew, but not directly on the sheet.
A homebrew feat should work for you either way.
Oh, good idea. So a homebrew feat that would mimic the epic boon? How would you do it to change your proficiency bonus (looking at some post-20th adventures).
nevermind, a couple forced refreshes and it worked
- Type: Bonus
- Subtype: Proficiency Bonus
- Fixed Value: 1 (or however much you want to increase it by)
Anyways do we still know why it won't let me pick staff as the hex weapon
when i go to your sheet, it says the staff *is * your hex weapon
and appears to be calculating to hit properly
I do not know if this helped because my sheet is suddenly working again on both browsers. Though I have not turned off my extensions in FireFox I had cleared the cookies - not my browser cache - on Fire fox but not closed my firefox (though had tried new session) and logged in and out and such, and it hadn't worked to fix anything.
So in edge where I was having the same problem I turned off my extension and deleted again cookies only closed and reopened, signed back in and it was working. And so I tried opening it in Firefox in the same window I have had open all day, where it had still been broken last time I checked and now it is working again. So I do not know at all if trying to do any of those steps helped or if it got better due to something else
Ah well then bet if it works it works
So question. My friends and I have moved away from each other and I just joined D&D beyond. And the question I have is can I creat a campaign so they can join or how would I got about doing that. We use to play about 4 times a week and now we live about 5 hours from each other and still would like to cont. the tradition. Any help đ would be appreciated
You can! Head to Collections > My Campaigns. Youâll see an option at the top to create a campaign.
Once itâs created, there will be an invite link inside that you can send to your players.
When they use that link, theyâll be able to join with an existing character or create a new one.
This article goes over the site basics in more detail, if youâre interested:

My son and I both can't bring up a new character he created for a campaign that starts on Sunday. We get the Beholder error message to try later. Did he lose the character or does this actually usually resolve?
it looks like they are doing back end shenanigans again, i would give it some time, then try clearing cache and refreshing
if the character is still in his My Characters page, he should still have it.
thanks
if it doesn't work by Sunday, as long as you have an empty character slot you can just copy the character sheet and it should work
Would they have to pay for anything or just the DM
Your group can create a campaign and build up to six characters each using anything in the free Basic Rules.
But thereâs books you can buy to unlock additional character options or adventures to play together.
Hi, I own a a few campaign madules but when I select the "create from Premade campaigns" I don't see all of my books there. Is this feature still in testing? it doesn't show alpha or beta n it but I only get 3 options when I select on premade.
Hello Im new to DnD i was looking for some help and to hop into a game after if im lucky
Hey guys đ So i wanted to buy some content on dnd beyond but im wondering, will this new player handbook make tashas and xanathars pointless or less valuable?
it is supposed to be backwards compatible
Hmm okay i just dont wanna double buy content yknow
i'd do some more research though to be sure
Appreciated!
Old content (with some exceptions) is compatible with new content, and vice versa. Some features from Tashaâs (like the optional rule about changing your ability scores) are being integrated into the 2024 PHB, but most of their content will remain usable
Those three are the only ones available as premade campaigns. If youâre running some other adventure, you can simply select âCreate a Campaignâ instead.
Is anyone noticing anything strange about rolls recently with the DDB dice?
My party has been getting a lot of extreme rolls tonight. A lot more nat1s and nat20s than you would expect out of a single session.
Hey i got the Master Subscription, and didn't get The Monster Manual is this a "bug" or do i understand it not right? ps: sry for my bad english đ
the subscriptions do not get you any content.
That means that i can buy it earlier?
if you pre-order it, you'll get early digital access based on your subscription tier at the time
oh ok thx
There is an error on some character sheets (not all). According to the forums (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/199852-character-sheet-error) taking a copy of the character allows you to view the original character sheet. Tried this and it does work to my surprise

what does it mean when you try to access a character sheet and you get the beholder error? I have not seen that yet
trying to access players in my campaign and everything was fine a few days ago. now as i pick up on my prep i can't see anything. it is not the standard error for when a sheet is private or has been deleted.
I know I sound really ignorant but Iâm very overwhelmed by discord. I used to live in Colorado and have friends and played together. Now Iâm alone in Alabama đ˘. I would really enjoy a game. Were should I start to even understand how to use this app? Thank you for your help
DnDBeyond provides digital tools to help play D&D - digital character sheets that can integrate into Discord via the Avrae Discord bot, digital access to the D&D books (need to buy the books on DnDBeyond), shared dice log so a DM can see virtual dice rolls, and currently in beta, Encounter Builder and combat runner, and currently in alpha, a virtual Maps tool. It does not provide a virtual space for playing though. Check out this DnDBeyond article that provides info and tips on how to play D&D online: https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/750-new-players-guide-how-to-play-d-d-online
Several things to try:
- Disable any browser extensions, restart browser and see if things are okay or not.
- Disable any VPN and adblockers (this may interfere with DnDBeyond functionality), restart things and see if things are okay
- Clear your browser cache and restart the browser and see if things are okay
- Try a different browser and see if that works
If the above steps don't work, reach out to customer service for further support: http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
I'm having the same issue with just a few characters.
I went through some characters and found some with this error while using Chrome. I tried opening the same character on Brave and found that it opened fine. Went back to Chrome and hit Ctrl+Shift+R (Reloads the current page without using cached content) several times and finally the character loaded.
I discovered a fix in another D&D channel: make a copy of the character on the My Characters page. You should be able to view the copy even if you cannot view the original. đ¤
Anyone know what else could cause this problem when I took out any links/formatting for links?
It's still not being able to be published
Or an idea how I could track it?
I'm guessing it's the spells from the Master of Time feature.
Bur if you are just wanting to share that with your players you don't have to worry about it being able to be published
yeah my player is having issues also connecting to their character sheet (can't access their character aswell)
hmm.. weird I'mma look through it again but I do wanna share it in the general hub
If the troubleshooting steps I presented don't work, then it's time to reach out to Customer Service for further support.
You can create a customer service ticket here: http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
Published content can only use things from the Basic Rules.
Anything you include that isnât from the Basic Rules â like Sapping Sting from EGTW â will give that error.
Oh great.. damn it T__T Why is that though?
Because the other copyrighted material is copyrighted and you don't have permission to distribute it with your published work
huh.. okay
I know you can create homebrew on ddb, but how do you do it on mobile?
The homebrew tools are not optimised for the mobile site. You will need to put your phone in landscape to access most of the options
It's not in the mobile app, you have to use the site.
Iâm not on the app
Found it itâs under collection not tools
Also, does not require landscape
The drop down for modifiers wonât appear
That is portrait
See this message
I tried in landscape, everything else works other than that
Again
The homebrew tools are not optimised for the mobile site
Some options simply may not display
Ok
I finally got it to work, finished making my feat, and after I tested it, it made every single one of my ability checks +5 for some reason
Itâs charisma based
How do you add a limitation like once per short rest
Create a homebrew copy of an item with similar recharge features and look at how it was created - then add something similar to your creation.
I just bought the 2024 core rulebook digital bundle. When will the artbook and the gold digital dice be unlocked?
Hi again. Sorry to be pestering you, but I have still not heard back, it's been quite a while and the site has been broken once more today. As I've said before, this is absolutely untenable, and if there's no cooperation here, and no intend from DDB to coordinate and keep this extremely popular and essential extension working, then I might just give up on it, and I'm sure nobody wants that. Every single time, there's a change, which makes no sense honestly, breaks things, and by the time I fix it and push an update (and it takes a week up to 2 weeks for the new update to be approved by the addon stores), the site breaks again. Users are constantly either waiting on the update with the fix, or as soon as they get the update, the website changes again, making it entirely unusable.
If DDB does not care for its users and community and does not want the extension to keep working long term, please let me know.
It looks like today, they removed the saving throws side panel class name, making it a generic div, which is unlike any other side panel, and makes adapting the extension to detect saving throws impossible. Apart from lack of communication and coordination, this feels like also an issue on your QA pipeline for this to get missed honestly.
No date has been announced yet.
Have they moved where you can buy single subclasses/backgrounds etc?
Anyone look into this issue? Seems to be happening to a few people (myself included)
https://www.reddit.com/r/dndbeyond/comments/1dlim6v/having_an_issue_where_some_of_my_players_get_this/
I've noticed it only happens for characters with special characters in their names for me
you cant anymore
It's affecting two players at my table - neither have special characters in the character names, and it's affecting one characters per player that I know of. They're saying they also see a 500 error on the screen.
Yea it seems like all but one of my 30 characters works fine... of course the one is the one I need tonight lol
Oh, of course. My DM has over 100... just so happens that he needs the one that is having trouble.
The connection they're stuck on is that both character names start with the letter A, which... seems unlikely to me.
Making a copy of the character sheet worked for them, still can't access the original, but the new one is playable. (Thanks for sharing the thread, got the idea from one of the comments there.)
That must have been a new comment! That worked for me too thanks haha
Mine.... also begins with the letter A.... đ¤
I have been able to recreate the issue of a character sheet consistently erroring out but a copy of it works fine. I have passed this on to folks in the back so hopefully some kobold engineers will poke around at it and figure out what exactly is happening.
On a whim... I checked my other character that starts with an A... that one also throws the same error.
The original sheets are working now at our table.
Yeah my sheet is now working again correctly too.
Ok my original one is working now but a bunch of other ones are throwing the error now lol (not A names)
If timing helps - we originally found this issue at our table around 4:30 pm EST, took me time to find my way here.
It appears the character sheet problem has hit me as well; i cant access a character
Just checking, two of my player's characters i cannot access
What time did this happen (roughly) and what region are you in?
Iâll pass that on, thanks!
np
Trying to level up two of my players, and was greeted with the zombie beholder
North America for us as well.
Will there be an option in the character sheet/builder to stay with 2014 rules once the 2024 updates hit? We're mid campaign and we want to stay with what we have for now.
I looked through 13 characters (6 owned by me, 3 in one campaign, 4 in another campaign), and one of them (owned by me) was giving me a 500 error. Character's name is Woodruff Singleshot, Human Wizard 14 Fighter 6, if any of that information helps.
Character is accessible from the mobile app (error is on Chrome on a laptop running Windows 10, tested and I get the error using Microsoft Edge as well), and making a copy of the character works as well (I also removed the "copy of" from the character name, and it was still accessible).
Yeah, I had issues with my players doing that. They ended up looking at it through the copy feature? It was odd.
Hi guys!
Running into this error message: tried logging out and in, tried a different browser, tried incognito, etc...
Any ideas?
Same. I think itâs being looked into

Thanks @modest pelican! For now we are making do with our phones đ¤
Some folks have been able to get by by making a copy of an impacted character - but obviously that's not ideal. As noted the issue has been raised with folks in the back.

Where exactly are you seeing this popup? Can you provide a screenshot?
I'll see if we can recreate it after our game.
It was when our DM tried to transition us to a different map in our COS campaign
Can't access one of my players' character
Yes - we've passed info back to the devs so hopefully sometime this week they can take a look.
Do you happen to have a rough time when you saw this message and what region you're in? Also if you have a URL to the character sheet in question.
I can pass that info back and maybe it can help the devs track the issue down.
(Also see if you can pull the sheet up in a different browser)
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/121261794 I am logging in from North America
What region of North America?
Trying to give the devs some timestamps to work with as it might help them spot something in the logs
British Columbia Canada (Nelson Area) Just tried another browser and still can't access. Pacific Standard Time
Thanks - I have passed this info on.
Some folks have found that duplicating the character can allow them to access the copied character.
So if you absolutely need a sheet to be playing with right now, that copied sheet can help work around this issue.
how do I duplicate a character?
On this screen: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters
Click the "Copy" button.
It will then create a new copy of the sheet and call it "Copy of <name of character>".
Oh but the character im trying to access is part of a campaign i'm running, not my personal character
Can the player make a copy of the character and then add it to the campaign?
well they are a paying customer, but I could ask them very nicely to do it
I'm new to all this how to I start and play???
It appears impring the link into Foundry still works fine. Thank you.
Please check out #learn-to-play and #dnd-newcomers (specifcially the pinned messages in that channel). As a note we don't actually host D&D games here on this server but you can use our LFG channels to find a group/game to join. Read #find-a-game to learn more how to use those channels. And welcome to the server!
Hello! Currently running into an issue loading up my character screen, its giving me the "Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs. Try again after a Short Rest." is there anything i can do to fix the issue?
fixed the issue by deactivating and reactivating character, so all good!
fyi - this is where the error is happening for me on the 500 error. Can't .map null for grantedFeats. I set grantedFeats to [] manually and it loaded the sheet properly.
Acolyte background on this character - in case it's related to a missing flag on a background with new upcoming granted feats (I suspect the character just hasn't synced to a newer version though since copying etc works).
I'm sure this has been asked already but I can't seem to find a straight answer. I, too, have purchased the legendary bundle on D&D Beyond, but I'm not seeing any specific discounts beyond the "bundle" price for new core books (physical + digital). Can someone confirm if I should be seeing something else?
The digital books should be discounted by 10 dollars each if you purchased them as bundles and any legendary bundle discounts should be applied at discount I believe. If you're not seeing that, contact customer service: http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
If youâre buying just the digital, you should see the discount applied during checkout.
OK so if I'm buying the physical too, I won't see it. Is that what I'm understanding?
If you but the physical and digital together, the digital gets reduced in your cart to just $10. The legendary discount doesnât stack.
Got it. That is what I was missing. Thanks!
uhm ...Where is the copy button?
I couldn't find it anywhere
Under each character in that page (https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters - this page shows all your characters) there are 4 buttons: View, Edit, Copy, and Delete. Select the Copy button.
oh nvm, it was because of the fact that my char slots were maxed, sorry.
Oh yeah - you do need to have an available character slot
Also note that we have alerted folks in the back about this issue with sheets not opening correctly and returning the 500 beholder error page.
Is there another way? Like others mine are sheet for my players so copying is not ideal. No rush
Well I've been passing info along to folks in the back so hopefully the devs can dig into it soon and figure out whats happening and get it resolved. Potentially it's related to this: #ddb-support message
I'm suffering an issue where my homebrew apparently contains non-english language, and I'm unsure of how to fix it, should I post the full thing in here so you guys can review it?
No
Please check that all sections are fully filled out to a reasonable length with no placeholder text like TBC, TBA, pending, or lorem ipsum
Ah got it
I've been away for the weekend, is anyone having issues with not getting digital content that you purchased?
I thought I had the same issue, I had to check my email to get the code and redeem it.
Where on the receipt did you get the code from, cause I don't see one on my receipt?
it was in my email that i have associated with the purchase.
I thought it would automatically unlock but there was a gift code in my email to unlock mine. but I also did get the bundle so IDK if that makes a difference.
If you've purchased a digital + physical bundle, the code for the digital book will be emailed to you via the address you provide while purchasing. Check your spam folder as sometimes it gets caught by that
That's if you purchased it from dndstore.wizards.com
If you purchased directly from dndbeyond.com, there's no code needed.
hey guys, after a little help. Ive been DMing for a month or two now and only just realised that the books that have been shared with me on beyond via a friend in the campagine arnt actually showing up. Ive been trying to make new encounters and the book is on the share list as active but when selecting the monster etc it says i need to buy the book
I've already checked only thing on there is the purchase ID#, well thanks anyways. Just trying to think of something I haven't thought of, cause it's going on a week, I've put in the ticket, and not a single word. This is delaying my game cause I can't finish the characters I need through DDB.
Some news regarding the issues with some character sheets not loading resulting in the 500 beholder error message: the devs are actively looking into it. They rolled back a previous code deployment so the issue shouldn't not be impacting any sheets now while the devs investigate.
Hello, is there any way to select, or filter, on multiple sources when creating a character under the Race selection?
I think it would make sense to have a similar selection type as on the source content on the previous page (toggle sliders), or another way to select multiple sources.
I am currently going to play in a Campaign where the DM wants race choices from a selection of sources.
And it would help to get an overview there when playing around with concepts.
There is no way to do that currently, no
Thank you! Confirming whatever was done seems to work for me now. Always appreciate the diligence
If you pre-ordered the book and got the key, should you be able to enter the key right away, or do you have to wait until it's released? I tried to enter it right away and got a beholder error.
I believe if you add the key now it's linked to your account (can look at your purchases and it should show up listed there). When the book is officially released on DnDBeyond you should be able to access it.
Try checking your licenses here to see if the key went through anyway:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
scroll all the way to the bottom if you have lots of stuff
Just confirming, I preordered the digital and physical 2024 DMG, MM, and PHB, and it says as much in my confirmation email. Am I to understand that the shiny gold click-clacks won't show up in my dice hoard until the release date of the PHB at the earliest?
They are listed there as Product Key
As I have a bit.
Or how does this work? đ
It just says purchased for me, no code/key
If you purchased on DDB itself, there wouldnât be a product key.
No date has been given yet.
ahh, okay I assumed they would be available upon preordering.
Hi! I have a question on how to use the D&D beyond site as a first time DM
Do I have to buy the subscription in order to access abything?
Like I can't figure out how to populate or start a game, even the intro to stormwreck isles one
I am making a race that a person could be transformed into, but I'm not sure how to make it to where you select what race you were previously.
Hi, when is the pre-order special offer / discount ending?
So subscriptions provide the following (see https://www.dndbeyond.com/store/subscribe)
Hero Tier: One week early access to core rulebooks (when preordered), create unlimited characters, create unlimited encounters, add others homebrew to your collections, and exclusive monthly subscriber perks (dice, backgrounds, frames)
Master Tier: Two week early access to core rulebooks (when preordered), create unlimited characters, create unlimited encounters, add others homebrew to your collection, exclusive monthly subscriber perks, access to Maps (currently in Alpha), enabled shared content on up to 5 DnDBeyond campaigns (this allows users to share their DnDBeyond purchased content with others in that campaign).
Neither subscription provides access to DnDBeyond books - you or your players will need to purchase those separately.
DnDBeyond also doesn't provide a virtual play platform beyond the shared dice log and the Maps tool (currently in alpha).
Unless you can find an official D&D race that does that to copy from, then it's likely not possible in DnDBeyond.
Thank you
Not sure of an exact date but preorders for digital will likely end just before the day of launch.
Hi, I have master tier sub and I just noticed the advert that the new PHB would be available (if pre-ordered) on 03 Sep, but when I check the marketplace it says it will release on 17 Sep (digital only). Which one is correct? Or is the early release just for new subs đŚ
The marketplace lists the default release date
If you have a master tier subscription, you'll get early access two weeks ahead of that date
Wouldn't it make sense to have it show the date based on those conditions / have a note in there about this? Would add some more marketing value I think
I have subscribed like 2 years ago and never noticed that part, maybe because I was always late to get books
Anyway, thanks for confirming about it. Nice perk there!
That's because that part is new
Subscriptions granting early access starts with the 2024 Player's Handbook
So me just poking around and stumbling upon this is just a pure luck. DDB can do better advertising on this perk for existing subs (and will be nice to have this info directly on the marketplace)
DDB can do better advertising on this perk for existing subs
It's promted on the front page of the site, as shown in the screenshot above
If you have feedback, #ddb-feedback is the place to share it
Hi! Does that early access for subscribers apply if I pre-order the PHB bundle through the European marketplace?
Being a subscriber and preordering the PHB digital + physical bundle does mean you'll get early access (digital early access).
I realized lately the preorder perks get release the day of instead of earlier. Is that still the case for QftIS and the 2024 core books?
Pre-order perks do not have a fixed release time/window
They are generally released as and when they're ready
This can be anywhere between pre-orders going live and the product releasing
Hopefully an easy question... As the DM, how do I default my ddb rolls to "everyone" in the campaign?
Ah, nevermind, I think I found it. At the top of the Game Log popout there is a Send To (Default) option.
I can't find a clear answer to this: the subscriptions say that we get early access to the 2024 stuff. Is that only if we preorder/purchase those books?
Correct- early access only comes with preordering (and a subscription).
I just got the older books with the 50% off sale, will they no longer work after the new ones come out?
Some of the items in the older books are being updated with the new books. You can still play the older content with the new updated rules. IMO it is good to have both sets, as not everything has been updated, and you can always fall back to the 2014 rules if you like.
I love the changes so far in the new rulebooks I have heard, but I hate spending another $90 after I just got the older ones. As long as they dont make the old unusable after the new ones are all out I am still happy. I just dont want it to be oh the new are out, everyone with the old has to update or the site is unusable.
Technically they haven't yet shared how that's all going to work, but if past experience is any indication, they'll likely ensure that anyone who already has the book can continue to use it.
Hey, i got sent here with help in the dnd homebrew page, but how do i add a cantrip to a race that doesnt take up one of your known cantrip slots?
Set up a feat (see something like spell sniper or magic initiate) to provide it?
Is this the correct location to ask about "The Rest of the World" purchase options? I was hoping I could search as I know 100% that I am not the first to ask...
Will the 3 book digital/physical bundle be an option for the rest of the world?
When you add the spell through the spell menu of the race make sure in the box labeled as "Counts as Know Spell" you put "no"
But i need cantrips, will these count as cantrips or spells?
You can have them pick through just cantrips if you want from that same menu. In the top it will ask spell level and you just chose cantrip
You could also make a copy of the High Elf sub race to see how the devs did it
Ahh, thanks
Cantrips are spells.
Thanks! What about characters built using the 2014 rules- will they continue to level up/gain feats under the 2014 system?
Again, specific details have not yet been shared.
So I don't actually know, but I'd assume they would.
-appears- Hey friends!
The CM team is working to get these answers for you. We know how important they are. Hang tight, and we'll provide updates when we can!
The new books are still 5e.
Beyond that, the answers to those questions have not yet been shared.
But as noted above, the CM team is working to get those answers for everyone.

Hey, last question today, how would i make an attack require a saving throw of DC equal to 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus?
You mean so it calculates it in the text description on your sheet?
For that, you'd need snippet code:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/25930-using-snippet-codes-in-your-homebrew
What is a Snippet?
Have you spotted on the character sheet that it tells you what each feature of your class/race does? Those are snippets.
When creatin...
{{savedc:dex}} should do it.
If not, then {{8+modifier:dex+proficiency#unsigned}}
Where does this go again, snippets?
Yep
Inside the weapon correct?
It worked, thanks so much!
I'm trying to make a homebrew magic item that gives a bonus of an extra damage die for any spell cast that deals lightning or thunder damage. Is there a way for DND Beyond to support this? I'm not seeing any option to.
I donât believe so, no.
Unfortunate. Thank you for your help anyway.
What you can dk is make a separate attack/action thats labeled (extra lightning/thunder damage for any die you need
How long does it take usually to resolve a ticket? Its been a week already, and all i ordered was a digital source book. đ
All i wanted to do was add the races to DDB to finish creating the rest pf my characters.đ
Customer service tickets can take over a week when they're handling a heavy load.
This was my very first purchase, never again!đ
Thier preorder for the new books is jacked up. I picked the bundle for digital and physical. So far it has charged me for all 3 digital books at 29.99 a piece.
and they show each physical book at 49.99. Add that up and its far mor than the 188.97 with tax.
Does anyone know how the new edition and old edition will work on DnD Beyond. I think there are going to be some people that don't want to use the new system right away and want to keep their old character sheets and character builder. Is there going to be an option to switch between the two?
no one knows yet, communuty managers are looking into it
When you order the physical and digital together, the digital gets discounted to $10.
They did not.
Did you purchase them together?
I got a seperate charge for each item and it didn't check out as a bundle
Yes, I did. using the bundle option of 179
So you had all six in your cart at the same time?
yep
And it charged you the full price for each? ~$270?
It said 188 and some change....then it recharge for just the digital books for 67.47.

I am attempting to cancel but it will only let me cancel the physical books and not the digital books. Looking into a charge back via paypal for deceptive practices

Tried that. No response so far. This is was horribly handled. That should never have happened. I don't trust them at this point and will proceed via paypal resolution
Hi, did something happen to the DDB Marketplace option where you could filter out sources you've already bought? I can't find it anymore and everything is just in the marketplace all the time now.
They said later in the week for this one.
Sorry if this has already been answered, support hasn't answered my email. Users outside of the US can't preorder the full bundle as it won't ship to them. So if I ordered from the official D&D site like advised and got them all separately do I still qualify for all the pre-order bonuses? I have seen anything yet on my account.
I bought the new Grim Hollow player guide but it doesnât look like itâs finished yet on the mobile app. When I try to look at any of the subclasses in the listing section all it has is the initial description. None of the subclass features are listed as well it just stops after that.
you will get the preorder bonuses by ordering this way! there are no bonuses to redeem right now, which is why you don't see them on your account.
I'm new to this server and looking for a group that plays pathfinder 2E. Is there is anything for that here or if I should look elsewhere? And this is 5e exclusive?
This server is exclusively for D&D, so you canât look for Pathfinder games here. If you decide to look for D&D games, you can follow the instructions in #find-a-game
Thank you đ
hello, it's been a month since the first time i play and i'm interested to get a digital copy of PHB.. tho it seems there will be a new release on september if i'm not mistaken, if i preorder the 2024 version, will i unlock the previous PHB too?
ah alright, another question, will i get the early access of it for my character creation now if i preorder the 2024 ver?
Yes. The early access is 2 weeks early from the main release date.
âď¸ If you also have a Master Tier subscription.
okayy thanks for the answer
Apparently, "This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.".
It's a druid subclass with five features, each ordered correctly, and at 2nd, 6th, 10th, and 14th level, is there anything I'm missing?
you have to give it a 3rd level feature
Is Beyond working on adding this feature?
That's strange but alr
This is due to the way they set up all druid subclasses based around Land circle, but it can be a nonsense text feature and you can just have it hidden in the builder and the sheet
Thank you
It's not working strangely enough
Do I need to put it in the display order?
If you have everything that you want on the homebrew, and only want to share it with your players, you don't have to worry about that message
I do want to publish it though
You can try hitting the main save button to re-trigger the validation. If the issueâs been solved, that error should go away.
I think so? Iâd have to look to be sure. đ
Anyone who preordered the digital+physical core rulebook bundle (all three books): Did your card get charged with the full price all at once? Or did the charge come through spread across multiple payments?
You can already upload maps
My comment was in response to adding the simple feature of a grid to maps in Beyond. Itâs very complex to add one on our own without the right tools. Without using vectors, simply opening a map in a platform to edit it and saving again decreases the quality of the image.
What is the general estimated response time to a support ticket?
Is there a possibility to contact customer support by calling ... I have been trying to find a number so I could get my ticket sorted out.
There isn't one, it varies depending on how busy the team is
And no, there's no phone number
Ok, I guess the summer holidays possibly hit in or they have other things going on. I left my ticket on Monday and got a instant reply which I guess is automated response.
What are my odds of refunding my preorder of the Players Handbook, clearly I am WotC have different understanding of digital content.
That's not information anyone here has
Question: Once the updated PHB is made available, will character sheets automatically be updated to reflect it?
Ie; I have a sorcerer character I created in 2020. Will her character sheet be updated or will it stay the same?
I'm hoping it won't update
There hasn't been any announcement on how this will all work on sheets but the understanding is DnDBeyond will support both 2014 and 2024 characters.

Per our Terms and Conditions, all D&D Beyond digital and/or physical content sales are considered final.
If you have made a purchase in error, please contact our customer support team for assistance using this form.
I rephrase myself, I was just wondering what are my odds that the customer rep says âThough break, your out of luck, enjoy your digital contentâ
I do have a ticket - just waiting until someone handles it.
Out of curiosity: in what way do they differ?
My DMâs are open if you still want to chat. Donât want to flood the support with back and forth about this.
Are discounts showing for past a la carte purchases, without having to contact customer support now? It says that SCAG is 10% off, so I was wondering if it's like that for everybody, or just me.
That would be the summer sale discount
You still need to contact customer support for a code to redeem your a la carte purchases
Thank you.
I have a question why do all the spells in the encounter builder mosnters say tooltip not found?
This appears for all the monsters
I am noticing the tooltip issue as well (Central Time Zone)
and that's something that needs to be fixed on the website. on the page that details the master tier subscription, while it states that subscribing to it for $4.58 a month will grant you two week early access to the 2024 books when they release, it doesn't specifically state that you have to buy/preorder them. While I'm assuming that is the case, it's a touch misleading on the subscription page.
oooh.. i take part of that back, there is one image that cites you get that early if you preorder the digital, but its only displayed after you are able to click the subscribe button.
Is there any way to override the attunement limit on a character sheet
make a feat, give it a modifier. type is set, subtype is attunement slots, fixed value is total number of slots
I guess the broken tooltips have already been reported?
This problem btw now spread to two of the players in my group. One using android tablet, the other one also an iPad Pro 10,5 inch. Seems it is not only my device. Wrote another ticket - still the same hints and trouble shooting that does not work.
Quick question. I have a player in my campaign who can't type because his arm is in a sling. I made him a character sheet on my end and hoped there would be a way for me to transfer or assign it to him. I did it before when I added an NPC one of my other players built and I could do it because I could claim it on the campaign page as the DM. Does it not work the other way? Is there another way to give my player the character I made for him?
You should be able to make an unassigned character in a campaign on D&D Beyond that you both share, that your player can then claim that character. When you are on the Campaign do you see a button "Create Unassigned Character"?
That button is there. That wasn't how I did it though because I knew I could put it in the campaign and unassign it. He said he didn't see a button to claim it though.
Where there any news from DnD Beyond regarding broken tooltips?
The team is aware and it's being investigated
Quick question: what does the mobile app version of DDB offer that the website doesn't?
Offline access
Ta.
How does one make a post in looking for a dm?
Read the instructions in #find-a-game carefully
not sure if i post here or elsewhere but having a problem on ddb, where some of my character sheets are unable to roll attacks, and only display the attack through r20. is there a way to fix this problem? it seems to only be on certain sheets, not all of them
This is not a D&D Beyond problem, this is a problem with whatever third party, unsupported extension you are using to send rolls from D&D Beyond to roll20
I see, I usually use Beyond 20 so was under impression it was a supported 3rd party, I'll have to look into it more in that case
No, there are no "supported 3rd party" apps for D&D Beyond
We only have two supported apps; the mobile app and avrae for discord, both of which are 1st party apps made by D&D Beyond
On the Marketplace, how do you filter out items you've already purchased? I remember this used to be a feature.
You can't currently, that filter was not migrated over to the new marketplace
Damn. Alright ty.
So the character is in the campaign and unassigned? If they donât see a claim button on the campaign page itself, they could try using the campaignâs invite link and claiming it there.
If there's no claim button, if the person doesn't have a subscription they might be at their 6 character limit
Has anyone's tooltips just stopped working in dnd beyond? all my stat blocks are just "tool tip not found" for every stat.
The team is aware of the issue and it's being looked into
Hey folks, is this the right channel to ask for help regarding creating homebrew magic items in ddb?
on the offchance it is, i was wondering if there's any way to add a reaction to an item?
I have an item that lets you use your reaction and 1 charge to gain advantage on a spell saving throw
Not if you want it to show up separately in the Actions tab, no.
You could add a custom action directly on the character sheet, or pair it with a homebrew feat.
I think dnd beyond just took ÂŁ20 out of my account and Iâve got no idea for what
The highest tier is only like 5

For selecting dice for the digital dice roller: when Iâm using the browser, I can and have selected the Themberchaud dice. Itâs not an option at all in the mobile app. The other dice (basic, class-based) are.
Any ideas/explanations?
You need to download them onto the app?
They should be listed nearish the bottom of the list, between the gemstone dice pack and the raw amethyst dice
Itâs the only option just not even listed at all to download or utilize
Does anyone else see it in the app? Are you able to use it?
Yes, I'm looking at it right now, that's how I was able to tell you where it is
Hmm, weird. Sigh. Oh well
Is there some email or contact I can utilize to troubleshoot this?
You may want to make sure the app is up to date as well. I had a similar problem before and that was the issue.
I just updated it as well, was hoping it would be the fix but unfortunately no difference
What version are you on? You can find it by clicking your user icon in the top left, then scrolling to the bottom.
2.56
And platform?
iOS 17.5.1
I do see them on mine in iOS, and I'm only on 2.55.
So yours is even newer than mine.
How long ago did you claim that dice set?
If you go to this page, does it say your account entitlements are in sync?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
âYour entitlements data is in sync! You should have nothing to worry about, but contact our Support Team if you're having problems accessing your purchased content.â
I am not seeing any option anywhere to âcontact support teamâ btw
Is this channel intended to be the support team? I appreciate the help btw
This is a community-led support channel.
Is there a WotC support team contact? There seems to be no such option, only faq-style support articles. Am I missing something obvious?

Is this feat prerequisite "15 in STR or DEX" or "15 in STR and DEX"?
I want it to be or, but idk
because that sounds quite a lot like and to me, which I don't want
Thereâs a section here on using multiple prerequisites that might help:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/76031-demystifying-homebrew-updated-with-feats#c7
Ultimately AND and OR are both possible, but they get set up in different ways.
Iâm guessing what youâve got there is indeed an AND.
Okay, do you have a more specific link/screenshot that would bring me closer to the right place?
nvm, I think I have it
Thank you! :D
Okay so, I did what was explained there but because it has to have a description, I have the text "Requires a Strength or Dexterity score of 15 or higher" written twice...
The description has a red *ď¸âŁ, how can I leave it blank?
Zero width spaces and a few other empty characters don't work :(
Hah! A zero-width non-joiner, u200C works :D
You could probably also just split the sentence in two.
Can you help me understand, why the legendary discount doesn't stack here, but does with other promotions ?
Because you already own it.
You could purchase it as a gift at that price, but legendary discounts donât apply to gift purchases.
How do I add a prerequisite for skill proficiencies?
but wouldn't that be boring?
Let me rephrase it:
You wrote: "If you but the physical and digital together, the digital gets reduced in your cart to just $10. The legendary discount doesnât stack."
Can u help me understand, why discounts do not stack in that specific case, but seem to do in the example i gave, aswell as (to my knowledge) in all other promotions ?
Should it not apply to the digital part of the bundle?
Anyone having Players not be able to access shared content?
-multiple Players report it
-i can see the missing features on their sheets' Character Builder, but they can't
-confirmed my Master tier subscription is active
-confirmed they are signed in on a browser
-this is the 5th campaign
-confirmed settings in the campaign and the character sheet are correct
-deleted the character and campaign and created new
any thoughts on what I can try or check next? thank you
Update, disregard. Issue resolved.
Hi, team! I'm looking to buy the 2024 digital and physical books, but I'm in Canada.
I see there's a digital+physical "core" bundle on D&DB here: https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/core-rulebook-bundle
But I believe if I want these to ship to Canada, I need to do so here: https://dndstore.wizards.com/
My question is, is there a full 2024 "core" bundle similar to the US store? It looks like I need to instead add the individual PHB, DMG, and MM digital+physical bundle to my cart. It looks like it but wanted to double check.
Thank you!
(Ping would be appreciated so I don't miss a reply.)
Okay, so.....
Digital core book bundle: You can use D&D Beyond marketplace regardless of region *
Physical core book bundle: dndstore.wizards.com doesn't offer physical only purchases so you'll need to try your local gaming store/bookstore/etc
Digital + Physical core book bundle: dndstore.wizards.com doesn't offer this but you don't miss out on anything because this bundle (on the DDB store) doesn't grant you any extra savings, it's just a convenience factor. You can just add the three individual book bundles to your cart*
*These options will grant the exclusive pre-order bonuses; the digital art book, the gold dragon digital mini, and the gold dice
tl;dr - no you can't get the all in bundle but this won't result in you missing out on anything, it just means five extra clicks
Haha, okay. This is what I thought but wanted to double check before checking-out with a fairly heavy cart.
I got a little confused because the Digital + Physical core bundle says it offers $60 of savings. But DnD Store doesn't say that - but the price comes out the same. đ¤
...Though now that I'm thinking about it, wrt that star you added, it looks like that $60 is probably coming from the pre-order bonuses like the digital art book and digital mini? So if I buy the digital+physical core books on DND Store, I don't think I get that? Do I have that right?
What I'm thinking is... because of I have the Legendary Bundle discount, what I should do to get the most savings is buy the digital only bundle from D&DB (Legendary Bundle discount applies) and then buy then pre-order the physical books from DND Store (because that's how I can get shipping to Canada).
Wait, no. I don't think that makes sense, either. Because from DND Store, the physical book preorder comes with a free digital copy.
So... I probably should just buy the physical+digital core books (adding each to my cart) and I think I miss out on pre-order bonuses. Is that line of thinking right? đ
I got a little confused because the Digital + Physical core bundle says it offers $60 of savings. But DnD Store doesn't say that - but the price comes out the same
That's because each digital + physical book bundle is a $20 saving, the bundle lists that combined saving
There's no additional saving
What I'm thinking is... because of I have the Legendary Bundle discount, what I should do to get the most savings is buy the digital only bundle from D&DB (Legendary Bundle discount applies) and then buy then pre-order the physical books from DND Store (because that's how I can get shipping to Canada).
You can't order just physical books through dndstore.wizards.com, so if you want to order the digital bundle to leverage any discount you'll need to order the PHB, MM, and DMG individually as the legendary bundle discount doesn't apply to bundles
Right, right. Noticed there's no such thing as ordering just physical copies on DND Store.
So... if I both want my physical (and digital) core books to ship to Canada, I add each to my cart in the DND Store, but miss out on the pre-order bonuses like the digital mini and digital art book?
No, youâll still get those bonuses.
Youâre not missing out on anything; it just takes a couple more clicks than in DDB.
Okay, great. That's the last piece I needed. Checking out now with peace of mind lol. Thank you very much!
On the DND Store, I can't find anywhere that says you get the pre-order bonuses like the digital art book. But it sounds like either it's just not listed or I missed it somewhere.
