you can make a homebrew monster and then they'll be able to add that to their sheet in the extras section

Or you can find a stat block that is close enough and just rename it on the sheet in the same section

Go to extras > manage extras, then select the option to add one, select the type (familiar) and search up the monster

The only way to add spell slots is to give your subclass a feature called Spellcasting (or Pact Magic). What slots you get depends entirely on the class (regardless if which feature name you use).

There’s an option there called “Spell Casting Ability”. You can try it and see.

It’s mainly there for subclasses like Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster, where the base class doesn’t have a spellcasting ability. I honestly don’t know what’ll happen if you do it on a class that does.

Where he should have +3 (proficiency through bladesinger subclass), +1 for DEX, and then +2 for the weapon itself. It could be that the proficiency is not added.

There is a known gap where if you only have a short sword proficiency, it isnt recognised (as the blade functions as a longsword)

Secondly, if your player has 6 characters, when they join your campaign they will need to join with one of those characters
If they can't, or don't want to, join with one of those characters, yes, they will need to delete a character to free up space to make a new character in the campaign

If all 6 characters are already in campaigns, then their only option will be to delete one, as a character cannot be in two campaigns

The latest update to the Blood Hunter let's you pick which ability your character uses for the hemocraft. This determines your hemocraft DC which is used by some blood curses. If you don't select your ability, the curses don't show up because they don't have the required information

For your first query; all players need to be in the same campaign for dice rolls to be shared between them, and have digital dice enabled to allow dice rolling

If the DM wishes to see the game long, they can either navigate to the campaign landing page, or any encounter that has been set up using that campaign

#

For your second query, you can indeed link a campaign to avrae and once you've done so, any rolls made in discord will appear in the game log and any rolls made to the game log will also appear in avrae

None of those spells are in the free Basic Rules, so you'd need to have purchased them yourself for use outside a campaign.

So I was trying to fix the issue where backdrops and character images weren't functioning and I cleared my cache and cookies, and logged out to reset it. But now I can't log back in. I choose Google. Make sure to disable any VPN - those can sometimes do weird stuff with network requests and cause things to break.
Also some antivirus tools are annoyingly bad and will block some of the JS scripts and other 3rd-party tools DnDBeyond uses to provide its services so double check that it's not doing something silly like that.

Also try disabling any browser extensions - those can sometimes cause issues.

If you’re following the same pattern as the official subclasses, you can just put the names under Basic Information, in a field called Additional Specific Spells.

If you’re following your own rules, you’d create a subclass feature and click Add a Spell inside. You’d then have to set it up however you want it.

Is there a way to create a feat that has a variable amount of uses?
In the campaign where I am a player we use hero points a bit similar to inspiration, but more grand and they are available until used.
This means that while playing I can do something heroic and gain a hero point, and I don't see how I can add this to a custom feat using the "Limited Use" functionality or otherwise.
Oh, and I also want whatever number I type in my character sheet to remain until used of course, otherwise I have to resort to one of the following:

  1. Redo the feat every time I gain or use a hero point.
  2. Create a dummy item that I can use to keep track of the hero points I have.
  3. Keep the number of hero points on a piece of paper...

When exporting to PDF, am I doing something wrong or is there a timeout or similar of about 30 minutes for any updates to make it into a freshly exported PDF?
I make changes, wait a few seconds, export to PDF, and I get the exact same PDF as prior to making the most recent changes. Usually I have to wait about 30 minutes before I can export a PDF that actually contains the new changes.

copied summers character in rick and morty vs dnd from pdf to a ddb character. saving throws on charisma are +1 on my ddb-character but the OG character sheet (pdf) says -1. figured out a lot of these errors i made by myself, great way to learn the character mechanics, but this one is hard.

would link to the pdf and my ddb character but don't wanna get flagged by the bot what already removed 2 of my attempts to give more context and make it easy for dnd pros to see what i mean...i guess 😅

Hey, When I open a character sheet from my characters page then hit back and open another one it loads the first character. I can then hit refresh to get the proper character but a little annoying. This happens without addons enabled. I'm using chrome haven't tested other browsers

Edit: only seems to happen when using the view button - I can click the names and they load fine. Decent enough work around for now

Hello, I started DM-ing a session entirely in dndbeyond. I picked the Spelljammer Academy book and started going through it. However, I came up to the following passage:
"Orientation Task: Welcome Pack. Characters can visit reception to collect their cadet-issue welcome packs from a thri-kreen named Sor’kur. Each pack includes the following gear:

A red-level cadet uniform (plus spare), and a toiletry bag
A 50 gp requisition voucher to spend at the academy stores
A blue-level security helmet for visiting the Sky Dock during orientation"
My players are fairly fresh and they haven't touched the PnP version of DnD. I wanted to distribute items amongst them, as per the campaign instructions. However, I didn't find the items in the lists, neither was there an option to do that through the app/sourcebook. How do you approach this issue? Is there a solution or functionality that I am missing? Adding paper would be additional overhead that I wanted to mitigate with Beyond.
I have the adventure, sourcebook, Master Tier sub, the players are in the campaign, and have content sharing enabled.

I don't believe any of these were added as items, but you can add custom items to the sheet, or simply give something similar and rename it, also on the sheet.

I would suggest adding those as custom items directly on the character sheet. Just go to Inventory > Manage Inventory > Add Custom Item.

I've got 6*pcs all at lvl 3 in their respective sheets... 2 still show up as lvl 2 in the campaign list.

I started a new campaign and turned on content sharing for it, my players are brand new to the site, I pretty much had to help all 4 of them make their accounts, but for some reason the two players I tried to help today were struggling to see the race options from content sharing. it seems like one of them was able to pick the undead warlock class on his own so I think he's seeing the content, but the person I was helping more directly only had the player's hand book races loading even though she hit the "create character" option from the join campaign window

How can I add a feat that can be activated twice per long rest, and only when activated gives the following modifiers:

Are you able to check if you have an ad blocker browser extension? If you do, can you check for a setting that might be "Block social media icons tracking" or a filter list that "removes social media buttons"? With those settings disabled/unchecked, you should see the Google Sign-in button with the Google icon and allow you to sign in.

Alternatively, if you are using a security/anti-virus program called 'Kaspersky', please check if you have the "Private Browsing" setting that blocks data collection. This setting is known to block the Google login button from functioning.

The issue with settings like those (and same with ad blockers) is they use filter lists to note when to do something. They get updated by the people who manage them, externally of the browser or extension. So something that works one day can not the next, with zero changes from you.

I had a player unable to make it for a lvl 14 one-shot. I created all of the PCs ahead of time, and had them claim. One of the players had to drop out, so I wanted to remove the character to reassign. Once I hit the "remove" button, it no longer showed up under my created characters. Is there any way to recover?

Once a player claims a character, that character is fully transferred to their account.

The Remove button kicks that character out of the campaign (along with the player it now belongs to).

You would need that player to rejoin the campaign and unassign the character in order for someone else to claim it.

Or you can buy just the parts you need, like a single subclass. Whatever you spend gets credited toward the cost of the book itself, too.
