Auctions shouldn’t be how people source the new officers to t1, to be perfectly honest. Everyone who completes events and battlepass should get all the new officers at tier one, it’s part of the content they came for and even paid for. Officer auctions can be for people who want to push to promote those officers, since we don’t seem to have any real sustainable avenues for shard sourcing on new officers (sorry, discovery officers and outlaw officers going so long without chances for lucky pulls hurts as well).

I spend a large portion of time grinding in Tygokor for example.

You get Officer XP, Building/Research Speedups & Relo Tokens with very high regularity there.
Having a second crew that is as effective as PMC so I can 2 Ship in tygokor will increase my progress and my enjoyment immensly

If my ship takes less damage I can hit more hostiles per trip. That is the point of PMC, otherwise I would just go around with an Armada crew, kill 2 hostiles and warp back. YOu are really not making a compelling arguement against having PMC or even a Second PMC type crew

On a regular day I don't hunt specifically 40s, I just killing everythign in tygokor because the LOOT DROPS are immensely useful and contribute to a CHeaper playstyle

Power is irrelevant, more about crews, however, 50% of armada power, you should be able to easily win. 25-33% of power, you need decent crews. Less than 25%, you need a big ship or two with the right crews (and all crewed well for a purpose)

I have Lorca and he doesn’t do as well as several other officer combos.. maybe when leveled but that can’t be why he’s not released more. More likely scopley is trying to manipulate on his rarity. There were far less opportunities to get him than any other discovery officer

The confusion lies in the use of terminology: people using "arc" when they mean "arc part." Lorca was introduced in the final arc *part *of Disco and thus was not available in the event store. TOS Kirk/Spock were introduced in the first arc part of TOS, and were thus available in the event store.

I don't remember if it was a push back or purposeful, but correct, tos spock kirk were not released during the event store arc so they were in the event store even though there were also auctions for them during the event store arc. The 4 auctions total in the previous arc had no competition for obtaining their shards other than the small amount through battlepass/events.

And like, eurydice was released during an event store arc, but had no auctions, so she was in the event store. The pattern to date (at least since March last year when I started) is, if released during the event store arc and there are auctions scheduled during that arc for the officer, they are not in the event store.

If your shields are failing in the battle and you have enterprise crew Kirk and Spock, you might be better to use them instead of the cadets. Cadets are great for farming, not so great for a tough fight (damage to hull goes up a lot when shields fail).
Another alternative for exchange traders you can try too is Yuki Captain, Decius, Chen.
