I want to give a warning to all players who would like to reap the reward from the Strengthen your station event. If you think you can build ops and then get the reward for the event as it is stated you CANNOT. The milestone in the event changes when you build ops, so you WILL NOT get the reward even though you build the ops building 😦 this is despite starting ops during event and finishing inside event.
I feel pretty cheated as i thought that the event would give me the rewards for building ops.

@nova valley I agree with you on two points... the launch didn't go smoothly and the arc had a lot of potential... The concept of the spore drive in the Discovery ship is novel, but the practical applications are incredibly narrow and the ability to tier it up is a complete joke, to the extent where it only exists for these events... The Discovery, which again could have been FUN... is simply garbage that exists solely to generate revenue for a limited time, as opposed to the vi'dar which even now is a meaningful ship.
This brings me along to the mechanics... I feel there is a large disconnect between Scopely and the player community on the definition of "fun"... If by fun, you mean set an alarm to go off every hour on their schedule, as opposed to the times we want to play... For 5+ times per day to then hold your phone for 20 minutes at a time (outside of the usual grind) to kill hostiles or mine spores in an extremely laggy system... well, then I guess that could be considered fun... which, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the community doesn't agree is fun.
We tolerate a lot... but whoever Scopely has as their play testers seem to have this backwards... Try having them pay Scopely and then they may receive honest feedback on the new content, but if the UAT is on their payroll it's not going to get any better for those who have moved into the late pay-to-play stage of this game...

Just to clear it up. This is a ship, that you need to do these events, to get mats to upgrade a ship, that seems useless. Even fighting regular ships it's pretty weak. And forced to log in still mostly every hour, since the ship can't beat enough hostiles to get more than one point. Who really thought this was a good plan? It seems like scoply is trying to show "log ins per player per day" to justify something. I am saddened that I have spent money in this game. And definitely not buying this battle pass. It's just useless.

How do the Ops 40+ feel about the rebalancing of missions in the Discovery arc? As a lvl 40 myself I’m stuck at “The Devil you know” because I don’t have a ship with warp range 80. Also The USS Chaloner at 4.4 million power was a kick in the face. @nova valley requested feedback on the scaling of missions during these arcs and my feedback is that Scopely made it too hard for lvl 40+. <@&509690795536941056>

You collect distortion rings in the Anomalous Phenomena event, and that goes to your Chaotic Space Solo event. So yes, everyone is having this problem, because thats how it is designed. its working correctly.

Regarding the Strengthen your Station event, please make a screenshot of your event screen showing how you scored points for increasing your Operations center but did not get the full milestone.
Then, please contact CS and send it to them. If you already have done so but were declined compensation, please open a new ticket and include the screenshot (again). They will be able to help you out this time around. 👍

Getting worse today. Laggy and buggy. First one to attack often doesn’t get the attack. Have to attack multiple times to register sometimes (4x once, with no one else on that one). Then circling each other for up to 12 seconds while fighting.

thats why this event was a bit stupid, how you have to "LOCK-IN" the event, I could got to level 32, to do this event, but i have NO more building upgrades in order to "LOCK-IN" the event, besides the fact that for the actual upgrade you have to spend those resources anyway, which should in theory lock in the event but it doesn't

Yes same happened to me after @pseudo rover said CS had been briefed on the issue. Seems there are problems getting this info out to the CS agents. They took >24h to respond, then sent two incorrect replies overnight and closed the case straight after, not even giving the opportunity to respond. Which meant I had to open a 2nd case. There needs to be a bit more training done here I think.

A long time ago we had Ranked Mining for 3 days. It was Deemed Horrible and was adjusted to one day.. Still Bad but Rewards has made it Palletable (Lat Rush)
Armadas was Horrible.. in many ways is still is. But not holding Armada events and/or spreading it really thin makes it Tolerable.
But Behold the new BIG BAD... Anomalies.. the event that asks for your attention 5x a day.
A long time ago Battle for Glory was decent imho when it was 3x a day.. but the community complained... so the reward became 1/3 and the event only ran once that day.
What possessed you folks to think that 5x a day would be tolerable? Please make it less needy than a girlfriend or a pet.

I reached out to one user who reported being declined the second time and have sent him instructions that will with any luck prevent further bother. Additionally raised the situation to the event team as well as Panic. There is no way these affected people will not get their due rewards.
The egregious refinery affected the entire player base. The comparison is flawed beyond proportions. One does not simply write and run database queries like these.
All in all, this is a bothersome process for sure but we're doing our best. Finally, the event will be adjusted in future runs as well as you know.

Still stand by it though, that affected everyone everywhere no matter what event or circumstances. for example if you get a swarm event... do not score points... level your ops... your swarm event will advance with you
if you lock it in first... you will keep the lower ops event... and sometimes a second event for the new ops level will spawn also

On another note, these arc missions...
We got more Ops level challenging missions now. If your 40+ (especially early 40's) you're getting a decent challenge. 3, 4, 5mil hostiles, having to warp to warp 80 systems, etc. Bigger rewards... but wait... you notice like you'll get a mission that rewards like 8m Trit, but during that mission you have to donate like 7 1/2 mil trit, so your gross profit is 500k trit, but you also had to kill some high level hostile and your repair bill is like 1m+ trit, so you're net profit is -500k trit, and you realize you're actually paying Scopely RSS to do missions and not being rewarded.
☝️ Attention to details Scopely... Hire yourself a No BS, Attention To Detail Marine. He'll either fix everything or your Devs and LiveOps personnel will be in really great shape from the countless pushups they'll be doing every time they screw up 🤣

@low heath I agree it shouldn’t be necessary. But on the other hand I’m sure a large number of designers or developers may not play ye game for fun. I’ve mentioned this before. It’s work for them lol so it’s hard to expect them to play it for fun. That said it does put them out of touch. And why a player advisory panel would be great. Give them real player PROACTIVE ideas about feasible events milestones rewards etc. we can head off 75+% of event problems this way. Day one of Burst events being the most recent example.

@nova valley I think the only reason they will never do that is because Scopely likes everything to be Top Secret, Hush Hush, Surprise... Got news for you Scopes, surprising us is never a surprise. Its not that important to be Top Secret. Create a beta server, get yourself 100 volunteers to test events, new content, etc and stop trying to be surprising. We rather have working content then have to fake being surprised at your new content or events.

Here's the bug in the "Strengthen your Station" event: If you score 0 points in the event before finishing the Ops upgrade, the event will increase to match your new ops level before your points are awarded, and you won't get enough for the first milestone. You need to earn some points by spending uncommon materials on something before finishing that ops upgrade, or you'll miss out on the rewards.
The same thing happened to me with Swarm Sunday yesterday. I waiting until after the event started to rush my Ops upgrade to 35, and it changed the event from the 34 level to the 35 level. Luckily, I was prepared, having done that level of event for months already, anyway...

this is phase 1 of at least a 3 phase event (could be 4 phase like borg). If you aren't playing along, you're going to get to phase 3 and then complaining when your ship sucks and you can't complete/compete on events (like armadas)

no one said the battlepass was gonna require discovery. as a matter of fact, the BATTLEPASS events are always older and recycled events like domination, faction hunt, hostile hunt, and mining.

We are launching a new event today called Fetch Dog Fetch.
The event will start at 5:30 pm, 5:35 pm and 10:30 pm on Monday, 9/21 (PDT / CEST) for the US and EU regions and on Tuesday, 9/22 (JST) in Asia-Pacific.
How the event works:
- Commanders will see an event called Fetch Dog Fetch that aggregates all the points from the events.
- Commanders will see either a stick to fetch or a fire hydrant to pee on in one of the 15 new and awesome Anomaly systems (15 total fetch/hydrant events).
- For each Galactic Exploration event, players are required to fetch the stick when and where we throw it to complete the only milestone for that event.
Quickly warp to the next Fire hydrant and see how many you can pee on within 10 minutes!
Growling will not be tolerated and as always tail wagging is appreciated!

as with all events, you have to complete the requirements DURING the window. so for where no one has gone, if you didn't collect all the distortion rings from the individual events (events chests) then you didn't get the points for where no one.

for each system you have to plan at least 30 to 45 seconds to reach a mine or an enemy, 15x 45 that is at least 11 minutes! if you haven't happened to be in different systems and have completed the other event there, it is not possible at all in 10 minutes. Apart from that, the system is not linked and if the system has not been saved and you first have to search in the galaxy, this also takes 1-2 minutes due to loading times .. so against an unthought-out event with the aim of using up like spurs!

@nova valley That's why you have to play the game for what it is for you, and play the parts of the game that is fun for you. It is quite a lot of content in the game now, and easy to find a rhythm and pace that suits you. But you must also decide what you will not do. Most people do not have the hours in the day to finish everything. And that's OK. Try too much and you'll burn out and quit. Żeń of Gaming stuff really 🖖

So am i the only 1 that made sure I was online for 16:30 uk time to do the event and was in such a rush to visit each system that I only claimed 3 of the distortion ring "rewards"? and thus got absolutely nothing out of visiting 13 of 15 systems? Couldnt do the next 2 due to RL and as i only have 7 jumps left now too I wouldn't of been able to anyway. Really pissed as it takes 20-30 seconds to load "rewards" screens on my device(s) and when its just a poxy distortion ring I didnt think it worth it to waste the time as i was in a rush.
no to mention the event times suck and only running them 3 times in a 24hr period is rediculous.
I didnt like the burst event at first but at least that was achievable in the end.

@twilit imp can we figure a better way of that event please? As you can see from all the messages 3 events during a time of the day that majority of your players can achieve due to real life. Appreciate that you want to make the game more interesting and competitive but I'd suggest running it more frequently (not every hour though as I understand your trying to create something unique and reward players for being on more often, and mixing things up)

I’ve been playing this game for 13 months and have had a lot of fun but these time bound events have finally ruined it for me. I’m taking a nice long break from the game now. If/when Scopely fixes things so that people with a life outside this game can actually participate without losing their minds, I’ll consider coming back but for now they’ve lost another paying customer.

I thought all this work was done to fix the event notification? First one started, had to reset client to see it. 2nd one ever showed up. 3rd showed up 3 mins in. All with the latest client. In other words, more of the same useless poor quality product - the status quo. On top of that, got at least one person whose disco is stuck in the ether after trying to jump.

@zinc sun, believe it or not, not only did you have to complete the achievements, but also you had to to hit 'winner' for each of the achievements before the timer ran out for any of your work to register. I got zero credit for mining 13 systems because I waited until the event ended to collect my 'winnings'. 💩

But I would have been ok with getting 8, then 13, then whatever, if they actually gave the rewards for the milestones. But they didn't

There are problems like you can't lock onto a hostile to kill it, but neither can anyone else (server lag). And then there are problems like you do what you're supposed to do and you still don't get credit for it. The first is silly, but the second makes you feel like you worked for nothing.

Game should be a distraction from real life, not the other way around! So PLEASE scopely, stop the short events! I would like the short time burst events if you had 24 hours to start for instance you log in you click to join the event then the clock starts and then you have 10mins to complete it that would make more sense to me and make them more fun because you can do when you have free time
Being in the UK and getting start times of 4:30pm for the hour long alliance event rules nearly all UK players out of the event because of work
I missed all 3 of the new event because of RL commitments so no idea what those were like

Cause of absolute incompetence on scopelys side, repeatedly, 2 times, one of them in the middle of the night, stopped a big part of mining activitys and set up ships in the eventspace to be ready when event starts... Just to get to know now that it will happen at a time i can't take part... Great sports, nice... Wonderful. Retaliation for this wonderful piece of "wee donn now how to duuu!?" would be zero i guess... Its remarkable... But not in any good way...

I give scopely credit for trying out events that and thinking "out of the box" if you will. The danger with it is that not everything is going to work as intended at scale, both in execution and enjoyment.
Think of it this way - it's like Disney "live action" remakes, the Matrix, or Tron:Legacy. They can play it stupidly safe, and make sure to rake in as much money as possible while having folks say "there is nothing new! this sucks!", or they can try something completely bonkers off the wall and it's a huge success, or they can try new stuff and have mixed accounts of it.
Not every new game mechanic is going to be perfect. Adding things like active mining, and the jump mechanic (with timed events) is going to split the player base a bit. As long as it's limited in scope, and they give options to the players with it, go into it without the Super Big Gulp of Hatorade.

on a serious note - they took risks, and didn't impact core gameplay, and it's very hit or miss with player reception. They are limited time events that if you really hate you can theoretically ignore. So far there is nothing in the discovery mechanic that is so vital or breaking to core gameplay, so if you really don't enjoy it, you can literally skip it.
It cost nothing to get the Discovery, and the rewards from the jump events have been discovery-related. Any spend has been completely optional, even the rewards from the elite battlepass are more mat/rss focused than Discovery focused.

@pale cobalt there was no reduction in mats or rss of any kind. the only reduction was in epic shards, but replaced by disco recruit tokens, fed faction credits, saru shards and badges.
we found the screenshots and proved it dating all the way back to borg.

The reduction in materials was because they added the officer badges which is great but for me it wasn't worth the reduction for 3 extra badges

When they went from 10 to 15 it was just spacing and needed the same points and breaking out the unique loot from the rss loot. When they upped to 20 at Outlaw Arc 3 you needed like 50k more points to complete.

For players that were gone during all the eclipse stuff, how do you earn rogue rep? The rogue faction is locked for him. As i understand it you need rogue rep to unlock it and progress, but I don't know of anyway to obtain rogue rep unless you have the rogue faction store?
