You do know, the "Caution" lines do not mean, you only get one point for bulk contributing. This has always been in the event.
It says, you get one point for the event, no matter how many AP you get per contribution.
(Parsteel for example has 6 AP at alliance level 24, only gives one point instead of 6)

Just completed the event, spent less than I would have bulk donating. Took about 45 seconds to do. The ire directed at scopely is not due to a major problem, its death by a thousand cuts. That event has accepted bulk donations since bulk donations were introduced. Changing it without telling people just means people waste resources. It's a one way street to an annoyed customer base.

Think it's more that they went nuts with auctions to the point where nobody had mats to spend.

They then cancelled the Sisko one at the end of last arc a couple hours after it was meant to start because they clearly messed up the own scheduling but refused to admit to their own incompetence.

Then they released a "replacement" that was in fact a different event entirely.

Now no mat event has been announced, but given Scopelys record with schedules recently, nobody believes it and is holding on out of FOMO.

So players were 1. Drained of mats then 2. Encouraged to save them up again then 3. Rug pulled so they didn't have a reason to spend mats then 4. Frustrated that zero mat spend events have been announced.

There's a huge difference between "hey stop running mat spends back to back for weeks at a time" and "no mat spend events ever"

I think both can be true at the same time. I don't want auctions. The game has always encouraged strategic spending of resources at specific times, and I'm really good at that because I'm patient to a fault, but as a free player saving to win an auction means waiting months to spend resources and gain ops levels because you never know when a really good officer comes along that Scopely might not give you a chance to obtain again (or at least, for a really long time [looking at you Hemmer]). I applaud this move to try out not having auctions. But the fact that this is an experimental move gives me anxiety. I don't know what to do.

Am I supposed to keep saving because Scopely might pull the rug out from me and go right back to auctions next month? Am I supposed to finally go to 39 or beyond because I've been waiting for too long already and Scopely is giving me the green light?

What everyone wants, I think, is to know what comes next. Are auctions going to be dead, or are they not? And until we know, nobody is happy

This Dukat sourcing looks like the dumbest idea in 2022 (so far). Paywalling an officer is not an "original" way of sourcing (nor acceptable for players).
Let me summarize to you why people hated SLB:
Because it was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hard to unlock the new officers for the f2ps and small spenders sometimes. (Until there were introduced into the ultra recruit pack). It was already hard enough to make progress for these players, but at least it was not impossible.
And your solution was to make it a pay only content?

You know, when FTP players unlock an epic the really hard way, its still a tier 1 officer. Whales can get their new officer to somewhere between tier 2 and tier 5. FTP is still at a disadvantage, and most fall short of a full unlock anyway and have to wait many months for more sourcing.

What I don't get, is games like Diablo have found ways to get money from the budget gamer who has $5-$10 a month to toss at their favourite mobile game. Why is it so hard for Scopely to find a way to do the same? Its just graphics and some click on stuff gameplay. The normal method is have a decent alliance, do max uc pulls every day, work up to some rare starts, do high quality rare, pull from g3 rare loot chances, build up epics, then save all epics and some rare starts for events like these.
If you basically don’t start anything but ucs for a month you should have enough high quality directives for one of these event styles monthly.

This is the first arc in my 3.5 years of playing & spending that I am purposefully not engaging with the content of events. Love the bajoran loop, hate the event structure & payouts. I engage only where it makes sense & keep my powder dry for pt3. So far pr1 gets an F, pt 2 is looking like a solid D & that includes high marks for bajoran loop.

It's a bit slow this arc. I actually love the Bajoran loop but one armada per day feels slow. I feel like banking up the directives and doing a blitz every few days.

It's not eco dj or other fault. They report what information they are given. If that turns out to be wrong it's scopleys fault. I have treat the latest events like they are not there. Done grind instead. We don't have to do every event. My main gripe is and I'm a medium spender this event is for the big spenders only. The other 94% get left out. Long term that's not good for the game. Whales need the f2p to have a game. Dolphins do too. Without the game there no spend. An arc need something for everyone. Being event light we have a month where uc accumulation is feeling slow.

For this who think about quitting that is also the wrong response. Way back when there was no arcs. The game has evolved. It is quite possible to play without sourcing these whale officers. It is possible to play without doing every event. Be selective. Its a grind game ultimately. Use the time to grind rep jemjadar mantis borg Stella or which is most important or a of the above. Plenty in this game without having to spend on pay walled events. Some one is paying for the directives whether it be you or an allaince member.

I would as an alternative give these new officers sourcing via materials spend over several arcs. Not auctions but a series of planned sms which we can save for . An extra top auction using lat and conc lat meaning there a point to mining alot of this.

I have so many ideas. Why not use the community to help game design.

The amount of "coincidental" shortages happening so far in this arc leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Starting 2 rare and 1 epic armada leaves me 2500 points short of finishing the Dukat event. I could make this up by doing a rare solo, but was only awarded 175 rare directives from my first uc loot chest. Despite doing the biggest solo armadas I can I'll be just shy of being able to get another uc chest before the event ends. None of this is by chance and the design decisions to leave people just a little short of their goals so desperation drives them to buy something is disgusting.

Where are the rare solo armadas anyway. I can beat the 35 uc easily but the 40 uc I can't beat. T5 augur t4 enterprise t7 gladius. Need a better epics for that. Beside I lack rares and epics after last months spend event bonanza. Directives are the one thing I refuse to buy

Yes it appears that the lowest solo rare is 41. I'm not sure why there's such a wide gap

I have no problems with the bajoran loop. I can redeem uc chest every two day by doing 2 armadas.
But it's because I have strong ships and officer's, so I can hit higher than I shod I guess.
I like the fact that the rare are actually not much more powerful than uncommon. I can hit hit max 51 unc and 51 rare too

Just go on for the first time today. Am I missing something with the The Prefect of Bajor (SMS) and the Cardassian Counterattack (SMS) requires you to spend a ridiculous amount of rare and epic directives????

If you have more than 15 members they all can easily do 4-5 armadas and your done joining them all

for me at ops25 it's 29 uc armadas, which is still ridiculous

6 minutes per armada, excluding repairs and travel, 29 times, is almost 3 hours.

yes I spent all night til 02 to complete the event

people were starting 2 armadas sometimes and joined with 2 ships makes it faster

But all and all scopely are producing more harder events for this arc and I dont like it, needing to spend 5h on armadas is way too long. Not to add armada 1-on-1 had impossible to complete the event if my ships are early 4g ships.

The thing was that the Cardassian Counterattack rewards were paltry. They weren't worth the time or directives to complete the last milestone.

It’s the launch events that I’m having trouble with.
I’ve done 1 rare 1 epic and still need at least 2 more rares (normal) this has wiped out my res (won’t pay for directives).
The bajoran arc would be a little nicer if we got enough credits to launch a rare from the uc pack.
As it is more closers to 8 days to get enough to launch the rare solos, unless you save up uc stuff to pull 2 chests.
This event is probably going to run again this month and no one will have the directives possibly might have the solo ones to do it.
These events are a joke this arc. Even just adding in the uc solo armada launches would help.

The hostile kill part was removed, you'd need to clear localization to update your events.
