DISGUSTED with Rescue the Crew. At ops 36 I'm forced to systems where the odds of my finding a killable target are effectively NIL. What's worse is that I'd need to kill HUNDREDS of ships to hit the 80m total for top reward. Data and the rest of the TNG crew can remain CAPTIVE.

I'm on the Discord, for whatever reason your announcements haven't been pushing for me, but I'm sure I can fix it.

I'm still going with "event design continues to follow failure patterns of last two months". As much as I appreciate workarounds, there's a really fundamental and ongoing problem with Scopely being unable to model player experience for content, even when there's ample player feedback that points to what makes for really poor experience.

This isn't about testing, this is about numbers that never make sense in the first place being used to define events, and players are stuck between feeling like they'll be left behind or playing through miserable event after miserable event. There is a gaping hole in how Scopely develops content, and I'm struggling to see progress in filling it.

The concrete aspects are taking and scoring and answering these questions: what capabilities are required, how much of a bracket has those capabilities, what are the costs to use them (repairs, speed ups, resources, materials), how much time is required to complete, and how much of that will be dead time (travel, waiting for helps, armada timers)? All of the feedback on events in the last two months points to failing to make reasonable efforts at assessment, and players question motives when Scopely keeps completely missing the mark on this. Whether players are on the mark or not is not the point, it all speaks to people quitting in frustration.

I think a fair assessment at this point is that Scopely is introducing content from the most popular part of the franchise with some improvements that correspond to player feedback, which is being used to ask for more time without showing that they have a solid grasp of the most long-standing and deeply frustrating failure patterns in event design.

At ops 43, for rescue the crew, with a t6 iss jellyfish at warp 105 they send me to warp 120 systems where I have to kill 24 mil power level 41 hostiles. I basically have to die 100+ times to finish the event. No thanks! Piss poor event planning!

I always thought that one of the main reasons for Away Missions was so that we’d have a use for the many Officers in this game that we never use on ships, whether it’s cuz they have poor Maneuvers/Abilities or stats. But these Away Missions are asking us to lock up our best Officers for extended periods if we want decent payouts for the better Missions. I haven’t seen the Epic Missions or whatever they’re called yet, but I’m willing to bet I’ll be asked to lock up Kirk Spock and Marcus for a week to do a Def stat focused Epic Mission. And on top of that, we have to use special speed ups, which it seems so far that we’ll only get sparingly, and no Alliance helps! Why no Alliance helps! You already kicked most of your f2p players in the hackey sack when you took away Alliance touring for helps. Why couldn’t you at least let us get helps from our own Alliance for Away Missions! This is getting downright sadistic, Scopely!

If I recall correctly, we were told not to worry about leftover tickets, because the tickets themselves would continue to be used for future events.

There's really no reason to change the ticket types except to create situations where unused tickets less than the cut off to trade in go from having a value of 390 per $100 to being valueless.

We didn't need rare tickets. If the ticketed events were going to have better rewards, charge more tickets for them.

It's even more insulting that the conversion is 40 common to 10 rare (4:1 ratio) when the $100 packs were 390 common tickets and are 130 rare tickets (3:1 ratio). My $100 purchase of 390 common tickets only converts to 90 rare tickets with 30 common tickets left to rot.

How does Scopely justify devaluing our $100 pack purchases by $30.77 in 1-2 months time? Especially when we were reassured that our tickets would be usable in future events (i.e. retain value).

Even if the trade in ratio is adjusted after these complaints, the disrespect and "milking" of the players truly has become apparently unethical.

I stand corrected. There are indeed both rare and common scheduled ticketed events.
The people involved in the recommendation and decision to release the rare ticketed events before the common ones created unnecessary uproar amongst the community, especially without providing a prior detailed explanation of the ticket purchase and conversion options.

A 3:1 conversion would allow everyone to just buy common packs and spend the minimum amount of money they could to do the events they want to do. This is fair because it's an actual exchange vs a buyout of devalued currency.

Instead the 4:1 exchange ratio is meant to get people to buy packs of both types in order to increase the amount of money at rest in the game (money spent on digital purchases that are essentially not yet in play in the server economy).

What considerations did you take to come up with 2:1. 390 common tickets is $100. 130 rare tickets is $100. Thus the ratio is/should be 3:1.

If I remember correctly, please correct me if I am wrong, Scoppely said, when they first introduce ticketed events, that f2p players will be able to complete some of the events as well. The ones who wanted to do more than 1 ticketed event in that day would have to buy the packs.
Now as a f2p player you don't buy packs and you don't hoard the free tickets you grinded. You use them for those events.
Now rare tickets are introduced with conversion of the normal ones to be able to do ticketed events.
How can a f2p player do 1 of those ticketed events (in this case a rare one) if he has no normal(free) tockens to convert and keep in line with initial statement from scopely when they added this type of events?

They aren't useless as there will be uncommon ticket events coming this weekend. However, your anger over their value going forward is fair. The rare events will get the better rewards and the uncommon rewards will likely be much less than before.

I don't mind the rare tickets, but the problem is that if you put a converter of 4:1 with UC tickets, then it should have 4x the payout as well compared to what we've gotten before on UC ticket events. Seems like it either needs to payout a lot more 3* UC\Rare or something you can't get elsewhere like Harrison shards (refresh tokens are almost worthless to me right now). Away missions should function as a secondary means to level your officers.

I have no issue with the concept of rare events, but having the primary reason for them be refresh tokens seems off.

I'll be honest, if you had Harrison shards, or even Crusher shards, in the rare boxes, I'd be looking at it much more closely. Most folks are skipping over the refresh tokens and looking squarely at the mats in determining value.

shuttle bay level has nothing to do with the assignments given. If you unlock uncommon/rare/epic missions, you get them for your ops level.

Shuttle bay level determines what you can research, how expensive that research is, and a bonus to hostile damage, afaik.

If you don't want 2-3+ day missions, don't unlock the special missions in the research tree.

As feedback: I'm part of an alliance that on average will have 70-80% of it's members on for the majority of the day, starting from reset for about 7-8 hrs. The fact that you have all the events as bracket events (minus the away team one that requires speedups to complete that we don't have) has dropped the amount of players online down to 12 of 75. Does this not mean anything to scopely about these bracket events? it literally alienates most players from trying to compete. is this the actual goal of these events? Or is there some twisted logic thinking that if there are more bracket events, people spend more money?

This is an example of a garbage event. Completely un-interactive just set the away mission and walk away, difficult to complete because we have not been given many speedups for away missions, poorly paced milestones because if u have not gotten to at least rare assignments your going to have a very hard time completing the event, and VERY poorly thought out because we have 0 control over what mission rarity appear for us.
If you have bad luck and get all common away missions then the event is over for you because you won't have the speedups at this point to complete all of those away missions and even if you did the refresh is a roll of the dice for what missions you will get, and that doesn't even consider people who can only send out a couple of away missions at a time.
These away missions are supposed to be the centerpiece of this arc, but really they are just another timer to watch and are rather boring.

Assignment Hunter SMS is unreasonably difficult without buying a Speed Up Pack. I’m Ops39 and I need 900 pts in 2 days. Most Rares are at least 2 days by themselves and ofc there’s the Refresh Timer. Not even gonna bother discussing Epics. Uncommons are at least a day. Getting so many Assignments done in such a short time really stretches my Officers thin, if I want good success %’s. Which means until the Event is over, I’ll be very hard pressed to get max crew bonuses on even one ship, probably won’t be able to send out a my best Armada crew, and I’m really screwed if I have to do some PvP in a Territory defense. Wtg Scopely, another promising new content concept ruined by poor Event design with unreasonably difficult milestones that were prob never play tested 👎

Unfortunately on my server there aren't many compared to mature servers. Even 61 to 57 is a major difference in availability of players to score for this event.

Whoever deals with this, servers like mine (61) very likely won't even get into the milestones. We definitely need an adjustment.

Those that have the dvor an research typically have millions or raw latinum from mining for latinum rush. It's a relevant idea to include the bribes, just to spend some of it, but merged servers and new servers are going to have a terrible time getting milestone rewards.

I’m level 27 and my well crewed Mayflower at 30 has 430K power. I can kill 3 -4 of the lowest qualifying ships for the event to gain points before I’m destroyed and have a 3.5 hour repair

I have to kill 39 of them to do the event.

That’s 10-12 3.5 hour repairs for a daily event

And I’m absurdly strong for a level 27

Using the description if completely F***** for events that are tough but doable, makes it a little harder to actually get through for servers that have unattainable milestones set.

Not sure what your situation is, but at 61 we have very little chance of reaching the first milestone on the "Brothers" event, despite our server working together trying to get people scoring points. We are just too new a server to have that many players able to pay for bribes or hunt bigger scouts.

Am hoping to get the attention of live ops to make an adjustment for merged and new servers on this one. So far as I'm aware content creators are the only way to get through to live ops. the mayflower, at least for me, appears overly weak to most fights at OPS 27 try switching to the legionary if you have it. with kirk, bones, spock, (better crews probably available) it does reasonably well and gets me 9-10 at 480k power, with the same crew and tiered mayflower i get about what you get so i stopped using it.

As an ops 33 this is isn’t even worth locking up officers to complete . The medal count is less than 1/10 of what is needed for basic research and the rep is silly. Can you please reevaluate the scaling of ops for rewards? You also really need to think of moving the free refresh to 8hr or even 6hr increments. The 12hrs cause to miss the refresh for many missions because people sleep or otherwise have a real life.

I’m currently ops 24 and at 1mil rep with the Feds but my away missions only pay out 16 rep (BASE). Yes the mission does take 4 hours which isn’t too long but it doesn’t mean that the reward should be so low.

The rep given should either be dependent on current ops level or the current faction rep.

Then we fix it for 40+. But it's by far the most liked event type for.... everyone else. They did a survey to see what event we wanted/liked. Faction hunt won by Far! What did they do after the results? Took it away and only do it once every 3 months. If the grind is too much for 40+ that is a clear sign it needs to be fixed, not removed for the remaining 80% of the servers that totally love and need the event just to get anywhere. Under 40, and I Hate CoW, but we seem to get that endless grind all the dang time! So... they have an ongoing issue for event balancing. But it shouldn't cost us the most requested event to help the whales and wallet warriors... I mean 40+.... I mean 20% of the players!

Scopley, you should make all events a pay to play only. This will ensure all F2P, and minimal spenders (players who spend less than $100 a month), leave the game. While you are at it, you should start charging a monthly app subscription to for access to the game. These F2P, and minimal spenders, are a liability to the players who spend. With those type of players gone, better rewards could be offered to those that are loyal to this product.

Scopely, another Away Teams Research event with again two solo Surveying the Field. For every item the first research awards 100 point. To get the elite top reward that means 30 researches in 3 days. The last event will have cost a lot of people a whole lot of speedups.
So for quite some FTP players getting top rewards will be difficult if not impossible.
To make it worse, the lvl 2 and up research will award 20 points, so if all available lvl1 research is done a player will need to finish 150 researches.... This should be fixed, this is not FTP doable

The second coming of the Away Teams Research event "Surveying the Field" is terrible. First and most importantly, the calendar said it was only going to run once, so players have already used up the scarce resources needed for this research (including the research itself -- there are only so many to do at level one to gain 100 points, and only two primes available under ops 39). Also, the time has been reduced from 6 days to 3. And we are deeper into the research tree, where nodes cost more and take longer.

It was very difficult to reach the 3000 point elite milestone in the first run without prime nodes, but it was possible by buying the elite battlepass. I feel like in the second run even the 1000 point standard milestone is not possible.

I thought you wanted us to "engage with the new content". Well, that's the very definition of continuing to do the new research after the first (and according to the calendar, only) run of Surveying the Field. Now with a surprise second run, everyone who did engage with the new content is penalized.

I think a reasonable approach would have been for the rerun to count research already done, and make the milestones 2000 and 4500 points. That would seem to hit Scopely's goals -- those who paid for primes finish the elite milestones, every active player can hit the standard milestones, and those who "engaged with the new content" after the first event ended would be at a small advantage instead of a huge disadvantage.

Total codswallop!!! I buy the battle pass every month and I’m complaining. That’s £20 a month thats £240 a year!! For a game and I am still being locked out of events!

In comparison I also am subscribed to game pass ultimate. £11 a month £132 a year. With that I get multiplayer through Xbox live more full games including brand new ones than I can shake a stick at from game pass, ea play and all the studios Microsoft have bought.

So in conclusion £132 for multiplayer and countless AAA games whenever and wherever I want.

£240 a year to play half a game (not able to play events that are locked behind even more money) essentially for green triangle blowing up red triangles.

I don’t think drawing attention to this is unfair or somehow makes me any less noteworthy than a whale who spends thousands.

For these events, you just need to deal that much Hull Damage (reduced by the multiplier of that system). I think I needed 2.2MM points at Ops 26, and just went to Cada X (Open System) and hit 27/29 enemies with my ~320k Vahklas, maybe took out 2/3 of my HHP (was hitting some Swarms as part of my daily, so didn’t do it in one run with an easy 100% HHP to start)

I'm aware it's alliance. Only 20 members had the required speed ups / RNG to get the right balance of mission rarity/duration to complete the minimum sms point score. That left 50 members unable to complete their solo sms but as an alliance we still placed 4th overall. That is my point
