From players competing in arena matching hasn't changed. Which is why I don't bother. At lv 48, constantly being put against lv 62 plus at 297 losses no wins I long gave up on all arena things.

This is the problem we have when events are tied into significant rewards. The drip on some of these items is becoming insurmountable and frankly disheartening.

Yes arena is still pointless. Need to restrict levels much more to say plus or minus one level. And restrict impulse to 100 for all ships so it is interesting. All I experience is some high level player with super huge ship and impulse 400 just clean up everyone over and over. That is just dumb. If I play again to get the drip from loss, I will not bother sending ships in. Just sit out and go have a snack

Played 25 arena matches today. Lost all of them. We'd not even bother trying after seeing things like a 1.5 billion ship destroy our 5.5 billion ship courtesy of leveled up tantalus field AND leveled up Q cannon on their ship. Or if their borg cutter could one shot our 1-2 billion ships. We also matched the same teams multiple times today so it seems player population/engagement is dwindling quite a bit. In our alliance of 80, only 9 of us tried arena battles this time.

I now have 10k arena emblems to spend at least, but such a pay to win activity is tiresome and boring. Now imagine if forbidden tech were disabled in arena battles...

Ooo….No forbidden tech and locked impulse power….That would make things interesting. Had another bad match up. To me this looks like your new fix on matchmaking is broken. Did have a few equalish matches earlier in day but it is like you guys reverted back to last weeks settings in the middle of the event. The sad thing is, when there is a good match, it is really fun but good matches are so few and far between. Also, with their “fix” they seem to have created new glitches with the arena. For example, one armada was stuck on “0”, another is multiple times I would click on my second ship only to find that the ship in the Armada is the one that moved. These happened to a number of people. Also would click on an Armada to start and have the button greyed out (yes I had enough credits). Also would click on a hostile and attack was greyed out.

Yeah, we had about 3-4 games that were close and those are fun. But also yeah that there are serious latency issues. A couple matches I couldn't send ships to to battle system until about 2 minutes into the match and after restarting.

Mostly I faced a high ops of 56-59 which is in my shipyard bracket. Having 30-60 second wait times is well worth it for fair matches.

The invasion doesn’t feel like an invasion. 1) if its an invasion they should be attacking not floating around to be attacked. 2) remove the dumb Galaxy Quest ships and change it to the Jem Hadar who actually invaded the alpha quadrant! 3). With the these players they are not exposed or granted access to the Arc Missions, but can get them later through the Holodeck. Yet those later missions for past arcs require Pattern Buffers. Yet they do not have those and for that point since they could not participate in the Arc Missions due to their level, they do not get the Matrix Diode either.

A solution to this would be (and I am sure it is possible) to award them at them the Pattern Buffers like the Matrix Diode are award either in the Arc.

Just my 2cents, but I would love to hear feedback though on it.

just look at the current invasion event ... they sell a pack for 250k eye patches ... and if youre buying that for the protector ... well its going to take 3-4 months because of the cooldown they refuse to remove.

It’s funny how scopley claims cutting down grind times , yet increases points needed which increases the grind times. Grinding times don’t decrease they always increase. Only grinding game played that takes all day and gets no where. I can play others grinding games and be done with everything in 2hrs. Which is how it should be. What’s more @full swan you have only announced this after some of the events where those tokens could be sourced have been and gone. So even people who wanted to spend might have let those rewards pass them by. All ways round this a completely foolish decision on scopely’s part (not you personally I understand)

I’m sure others will take your point but personally I don’t agree. It’s a strategy game, part of the strategy is working out how to manage your resources and that includes getting maximum synergy from events by looking at the calendar. If they hadn’t listed the sms in the calendar then we would all be raging and rightly so. But in this case, I consider it my mistake. I’m sure not everyone will see it that way though and that’s cool. There is a lot that scopely could improve for sure, but as a player I am also responsible for my own game.

The consistent complaint after every arc is the lack of communication. So the solution to that, is to take core game mechanics/patterns that players spend weeks or longer planning around, completely changing them and then not tell anyone until its too late and people have been screwed over.

Having the fatu event and a cardassian bp event running at the same time made it more difficult to complete. Since the 50 became the invasion and that’s the highest Cardassian system, it makes it so hard for people to complete if you don’t have the directives and the people to do the 50 epic. Maybe the timing of those two events should be looked at so it doesn’t make the bp more of a headache than it actually is.

Regional slb’s have the potential for fun competitions vs. other players that in theory had similar resources (ship pwr, research done, etc.). Grindy event slb’s done on a regional level would certainly be more interesting than competing with players 5+ ops levels higher than you that had ships 2-3 times stronger than you.

To take that innovation and abuse it by making a regional spend event (with the same prizes as a normal slb) is just… ugly. I have no better word for it. An ugly, greedy money grab from an ugly company. This one really takes the cake guys. I try not to be too harsh or rude, as I know there are people on the other end of this, but this is just ugly.

Competing against 20 times the player pool as usual (maybe even more) for the same amount of shards (who isn’t even the arc officer) on week two of the arc is some great ‘innovating’ Scopely. The regional slb is ridiculous. Spending what I would have gotten a bunch of officer shards for and I'm in 788th place currently which means I get nothing. Plus all the new bugs this time around include a shield dropping bug that has happened 3 times now where a 12 hour should drops around 9 hours. Absurd how enjoyable the game WAS before the current emphasis on pushing everyone to Ops40. When I started Ops 34, there were only 4 officers that I had not unlocked and now it's climbed to 21 locked officers, my bracket as an Ops 35 included Ops 49 players which is like asking a High School player to compete in the NFL. Just when I thought it couldn't get any more ridiculous, I see Regional SLB and like a fool, I thought the region would be "in game" region but alas it's a rl region across all servers. take a screenshot whilst raising a shield including the android/ios/pc/mac time. CS used to accept that as proof of shield activation, just incase a players shield drops early and they get raided.
This is why they added the shield duration to the shield activation toast banner.
Also, it's best not to overwrite existing shields. ie i'm not going to be online for 2.5days , i have 3 hrs left - lets just add a 3 day shield. NO..... cancel the existing shield by pvp/hitting a dead base, then clear localisation and raise the shield whilst screenshotting

Whenever you place a shield, you should do one other action in the game that talks to the server. Grab a 10 minute chest, send a help, open a chest, etc. As long as that second action succeeded, the server has updated with the client. Have never had a shield disappear this way. I overwrite shields every day, no issues. But I do the above whenever placing shield before going offline.

One thing that is incredibly annoying to me on mining Monday / arena day is that entering arena automatically recalls all your ship. During a day where a lot of people use token system for competitive mining. I wish there was an alternative, like only bringing selected ships to arena.

Comes to something when you are working out how many arena losses a week (and how long it would take) you need to keep the single daily chest pull going til the next arena event. Matchmaking is not fixed. Well it is but not the way player want.

once again the biggest problem with the matchmaking is the one level 60+ that dominates a game of 50s, and the one level 70 that dominates a game of 60s. Until you guys matchmake based on ship availability, most of these matches wont be competitive. Especially now that teams have learned to exploit this to get their level 60 in matches of 40s and 50s

A team with a 53, 47, and a level 60 constantly gets matched against teams of 40s and 50s. And the 60 just runs a speed crew on their epic and dominates the entire field. No amount of buffs/debuffs/p2w tech & officers can overcome that gap of 50s vs a 60.

If it was me I'd have the algorithm look at the end score difference. If the scores were close it was a good match. If it was 1000 to 100 your algo goofed.

You should be able to adjust the parameters to optimize for close games more easily that way (whether by hand or through machine learning). The key is that close games are what we want, not close ops or power or rating or anything else. Those are all proxies

Good morning. These 2 events should be reviewed: jelly and latinum. Jelly events are missing rare ship parts as rewards, furthermore, you should adjust the rewards to the Operations level. Latinum event: put only a large amount of latinum as a reward and only dig latinum, there is no point in digging other resources. Otherwise call it a resource and material gathering event.

Arena needs more refining. To have your opponent with a ship 2.5 times larger than anyone one you team is not competitive. A tier 5 star ship at 250 mill does not allow for competition for any tier 4 star groups. Your lucky to score 30 points vs an opponent like that.

I think the second BP was pretty cool. Should have been at a discount however. After spending $40 I still got Zero officers. Here where my starting numbers where, 10/2/60. first BP 18/14/75. second BP 26/26/90. unlock costs 38/38/100. it would have been nice if we had a separate choice for the chaos tech for the second one. I do think this was a decent value. I’ll get tons of mats. I just think not unlocking any officers over 2 BPs is kinda ridiculous. This is the frustration “normal” people feel about the game. Scopely, it's like you didn't use any of the feedback you got last Alliance Tournament. There is ZERO reason to have only paid events show up in the tasks. You could simply make the 10k tasks more difficult to complete. However, by locking out most players you actually limit how much you can get in terms of spending. For example, if you made more 10k tasks achievable by all, a certain segment of the population would buy directives or the currency to do it. However, by making all of the 10k or reward tasks paid only, you make it so that only a very small segment of the population will pay for it. This isolates the "tournament" to being solely another paid event that fails at even that. You'd make a lot more money by making the tasks all F2P but raising the bar so that people would buy rerolls or directives/game currency.

I was exciting to see Alliance Tournaments coming back but very disappointed to see Scopely hasn’t resolved things. It is nearly impossible for lower ops to complete tasks. I realize that the lower ops don’t matter to Scopely but they do matter to their Alliances and they would like to help contribute to the success of their Alliance. Also, the kill FKR hostiles seems to be conspicuously missing from the line up. 🤨🤨. Please explain to me how an ops 28 player is supposed to do Borg/Dominion solos, wave defense, or spend Ex-Borg credits. Also, as someone else said on here. Way too little choices for people to score decently without spending money. Some of these would wipe out our entire stashes of tokens/credits just to do one. And some of them are flat out more ridiculous than words. Do you have any idea how HARD it is to get rare FKR armada tokens, Go spend 2,000 of them and it is ONLY 8,800 points. Ummm…..That should be worth 20,000 points because you would have to spend $200 to even GET 2,000 tokens to spend. P.S. people should be getting store currency for WHATEVER task they complete not just limited to the big ticket items.

That complaint has already been logged since they started this event. I just think it is poor of them to require you to spend 1,200 rare armada tokens when it would cost $99 to GET them. If all the other spend $99 = 10k points then spend 1,200 rare tokens should be the same value. And by far my absolute biggest complaint is the lack of choices for the smaller ops. This is an ALLIANCE event. That means they should have options for everyone.

I have like 20K galactic recruit tokens saved up, and when i saw the 10,000 point galactic recruit i was like "Great, i have tons saved i can get tons of points and credits too!" Then i read it was "ACQUIRE 7000 galactic recruit tokens" and not spend, which was a major dissapointment.....

Instead of increasing the points for, say, 1200 FKR rare armadas, id rather they provide a F2P path to 10,000 point/1200+ token events

And yes, more options for lower levels is better. My solution would be to create mini-brackets or divide the events into sections that are specifically tailored to a range of OPS levels, like OPS 19-30, OPS 31-40, OPS 41-50 etc that everyone can access. Each section can have different points and higher ops can provide more points and whatnot, but then everyone can get points/credits

The 10K was always intended for spending. Personally I don’t have a huge problem with that. The problem I have is

1. They don’t have more 4,000 or 8,000 point options that are REASONABLE and that can be done without wiping out a stash in one go.

2. They don’t give store credit for ALL level of points. The irony of the AT store is those with deeper wallets have a lot of those items and don’t need them BUT you have to spend $ in order to do the higher valued events so that you can get credits to spend in the AT store….so those that can spend money don’t have a huge need of the store but those that can’t spend or limited spending it is harder to do the events that will get you the currency to spend in the store

You give lower players smaller amounts of things like ultra recruit tokens but for the AT, you have the lower ops spending the same amount that an ops 60 player is yet the lower ops players accumulate the rss at a much slower rate because they get less as rewards.

No, Scopley warned with the introduction to Alliance Tournaments that if you leave an alliance or join an alliance during the event you forfeit all rewards/participation, this was to prevent people from leaving an alliance in a low league and joining an alliance in a higher league to obtain higher rewards and to prevent alliances from capping out points from daily tasks then adding others with a fresh 3 tasks to boost their alliance scores even higher.
Leaving an alliance also forfeits players to the alliance wide buffs obtained through the emerald chain rep

If unsure how to fix, have updates of tasks done as part of transaction for borg armada chests collection - transaction as either all actions succeed, or collection is aborted and player can try again. How is this not fixed yet and if it is not, why is the task there?

Absolutely correct. It only took 5 hours and dozens of resets to get what I needed.

So now we have an xslb which followed an rslb. Looks like after only 1 sms this arc we won’t have another sms until the next arc which is due 12/14 as there are 5 Tuesdays in December. So I will have to take a 4 week break from making any progress or waste mats in impossible slbs. So it’s a 4 week break. That means I won’t be buying any packs for nearly a month. Really good planning on scopelys part.

Please, if possible, adjust the pool asap to add more to tourney or, failing that, please add a Development SLB (and Fleet Commander SLB!) into the schedule soon…

Why are the DOMINION SOLOS and BORG SOLOS so rare? I used 60 task refreshes today and did not get a single one of these to pop up. The RNG weighting is OUT OF CONTROL. It is absurd to spend 60k refresh credits and still not get at least one of the two tasks youre looking for. I did make the unfortunate decision to pick Xindi hostiles as my first task. Scopely think they're just as strong as FKR so you have to punch up to finish it quickly. Xindi are 1000x stronger than FKR and not much punching up.

Almost all of the tasks are half of a full time job to complete, buy pack only or spend your currency once and stock up again for 3 months to do it again.
Rerolls are horrible and I often cycle between the same spend-only tasks for 6-7 rerolls until I get one where I already spent my currency 3 days ago for a tournament task.

Either you're only doing 1.5k point tasks or are whaling it out. Task balancing is horrible, they just slap a number onto it after picking which hostile through a blind darts throw. Not a single scopely employee has ever tested if scoring 800 or even 1600 points on Gorn or Xindi doesn't mentally break a human.

i just want to jump on the bandwagon about alliance tasks. Some of it might be questionable descriptions though.

1. Still too €€€ heavy. I fully understand the need to make money on a game, but it still feels too much.
2. The “point” system for grinds is nice, needs work. look at borg probes for example. due to warp, the absolute highest an ops 57 can hit are the probes 54. should they really be required to hit 100s of probes for that tiny amount of points? Swarms, same problem, but it’s not warp range, it’s swarm max lvl. Hitting max hostile lvl should give max points.
3. The amount of points given for doing many armadas (i saw six as a max myself) is too low for the amount of directives being spent. it doesn’t matter if it’s uc rare or epic. it’s insulting how little they give.

Every single time I try to do a task, I'm met with bugs, having to restart, having to clear localization, or actually have to back all the way out of the game, close everything and give it some time, then restart it all. Having grind events namely borg, swarm.. *basically older loops, which can't have the +3 level to scoring should be re-worked... I like the more points, harder aspect. So newer player can still do the grind and veteran folks can have a way to score points as well. Perhaps add some alternative scoring, keeping with the theme but harder.. borg probes.. aka.. borg cubes or something. Further divide the spend events from grind ones. The language for this task really needs to be changed to match the in game descriptions and info boxes. It’s super misleading and a lot of players (including myself) have misunderstood it and lost out on earning tournament points.

The task says to “spend” uncommon fleet commander skill points. So many of us go to the fleet commander skill tree where it instructs us to spend skill points. But this doesn’t count towards the task.

What this task ACTUALLY wants us to do is “convert” uncommon skill points into specific fleet commander skill points. But the game doesn’t call this “spending” anywhere else in the game. In two separate places it specifically says “convert,” and the task should be updated to say this as well.

don't use balanced teams.
if everyone is around 59/60, that is the only type of opponent you can get that you can win against.
but you'll see a lot of teams with a stronger and a weaker member, and the stronger one will crush you.

it's only worth doing teams where there is a big ops gap between your strongest and your weakest team member.
you'll get quite a few good matchups where the opponent has the same ops spread, and the occasional easy matchup where all opponents have the same ops matching your team average.

Tournaments were better this time. Still nowhere near where it should be but i'm happy for every baby step. Really liked the mirror tasks and with each tournament the other tasks get easier. Still too many G6 tasks and "acquire random p2w items" but it is what it is.
But why did you lower the store time? last time i could buy 70 of the rare FTs but this time only 35 (if the store runs as advertised). With the the current times between stores i can't even calculate which one i need since i'll be 3 ships ahead.

@full swan Please have them fix the Alliance Tournaments store so it stops bouncing up/resetting to the top while you are trying to select items to purchase. This is the second month in a row that I've ended up with something I don't want because as I clicked, the page reset to the top, so my click selected something else. I have the Borg Alcove FT so why would I waste precious store credits on Tech I have. I was clicking the Tarka's Isolytic Weapon which I was in the process of getting the full amount of chests for. Sick of wasting credits because the page won't hold steady. Last month it did it on my tablet so this month tried on my PC with a huge screen but since it still needed to be scrolled to the bottom, it did it again. Even as I type my tablet is showing the store and every time I scroll to the bottom, seconds later it resets to the top. I don't have time to select what I want with confidence and now I'm worried if I try I'll end up with a whole lot of (worthless to me) stuff I don't want instead of what I do want.
And since there are chest limits it's not like I can save it for next time, it'll just delay me getting the tech or primes.

I do like the alliance tournament, it gives a lot of good rewards to everyone, people who pay a lot of money on packs in this game and to people who are mostly free to play.

There are tasks that higher ops can do and lower ops can do but the problem is the RNG with the tasks showing up on the board. There were times the only tasks that were on the board were for higher ops and not something someone who is ops 34 like myself could do. Unless lower ops had rerolls we would have to wait and see if someone from our alliance picks up a task or rerolls to see if a task we could do pops up.

The tournament could be great if you just adjust the frequency of the tasks that lower ops can do so they show up more often on the board it would greatly improve participation.

This farce of a tournament needs to have it's scoring bracket fixed. Why does the challenger league 1st place outscore the 2nd place premier?

Rewards should continue to scale:
4th place Premier should = 1st place Challenger, increase until 1st place premier gets theirs with 2 plates (everyone else in premier gets 1).

All you did was punish those who placed in the top 4 who can't compete against spenders, because this is very much a spender + G6 event.

The rewards given for incursion events is a big improvement overall and the expansion of the trophy store is a much needed thing. I have noticed a higher participation of incursions over the past few runs. Yes I do know the dates of when it starts is a factor, but I was personally been slow on it due to lack of incentives.

If it were closer to the alliance tournament rewards methodology, you would see that the top 1 of the second bracket gets less rewards than the last of the first bracket (even though they are promoted/demoted). I don’t see this sms as pay to win….there are like 6 sources for trial bells at this point in the game. I do my q trials every day and still have 2k in bells. Ex Borg store, the arena favor, the MU refinary pull….ext. Trial bell event is far from pay to play or win.

You also have to keep in mind that people who to their Q trials regularly are often near the cap of what they can successfully too based on power levels. That's beyond the whole P2W aspect.

At Ops 20, they might not be able to finish tier 1, so yes, they would indeed be stuck.

you pretty much need at least a 3* epic ship to be able to cycle tier 1 at will (high tier 3* rare probably gets away with it too)

So just to reiterate whats been said about the sms today. For all players that do not have a ship capable of defeating the final 1* Q trial (5.5mil hostile), they are hard locked out from this event regardless of how many bells you throw at them as they have cannot replay an easier guaranteed win trial like the rest of us
Basically the majority of those below ops35 and even a few above that are screwed
