PLEASE add alternate scoring to the FC Janeway's Q's Challenger. Adding my voice to the chorus who are pointing out that its impossible to complete this (even with trial bells purchase) for those who have not cleared T1 trials.

Simply changing 25 bells spent=100 points would've solved issue for low players, but no.

You reward bad planning with event currency and possibly top milestone rewards and allow people not to do q trials at all and then double reward bad planning by allowing them to compete in tomorrow's q trials having not spent bells after they overspent in last q trials leader board and ft leader board to gain rewards there.

Why not just copy paste any hostile into any event that way players who find game difficult don't have to play the game as was intended.

You can complete the upgrade sms if you did the following: a) never upgrade FT outside of events and b) when the calendar dropped start saving all your protomatter and foregoing spending any on Q building upgrade part acquisition. A few people did this but it’s very non intuitive

the issue is that the person in charge of the shop doesnt play the game @outer oxide . they have as much knowledge of the game as i do of astrophysics (rude word + all). They put stuff into the shop you can earn for free (with grind) and ommit stuff you cannot earn at all (which you would pay for if you wanted it LIKE A PRIME) .. for example: im hated by feds ... theres 0 (or was until they lifted the dirty restriction script) chance of me unlocking an ent ever ... i believe i managed a whopping 40 prints over 6 months pulling 2 chest epics and rares on cd ... and then with their 'get everyone into g4+ for the G6' secret release patch, suddenly the remaining 110 prints in 1 month. Anyway the point is: i WOULD of bought an ent if it were in the shop ... but it didnt appear, only augur and d4 which i unlocked for FREE obv. This just shows you how dumb they are when making money ... they could be making SO MUCH MORE.

I'd like to provide some feedback regarding the recent short timer Realta event. The event had significant lag and retrieval issues, eventually appearing as an expired event. Considering the challenges in ensuring simultaneous event access due to network variations and the buggy code, it might be prudent to address network issues and your coding before running such events. Currently, the event's fairness seems heavily dependent on random network connectivity and bugginess rather than player skill. Enhancing the technical aspects would lead to a more equitable experience.

Seriously. You will be given “race day tokens x 10”. Events run EVERY 2 hours. You must start and end your flight within the event window.

No on screen timers for start/finish is bad, also sometimes it doesnt count when you arrive at destination.
With server lag going on this means that you can miss like 20 seconds of flight time because you dont know if it counts or not

The idea is nice. But the execution is terrible.

1. No timers. With such a short event every second is worth its weight in gold.
2. Fixed times. It's a game. I want to decide for myself when I want to have time for it.
3. Planning is important for such flash events. Communication from Scopely - not just at ground level, but deep below. Description in game - absolutely not explanatory.

Could be fun, but will be frustrating for many I assume, as always.

The Antarian race event has a lot of potential to be fun, so it’s a good start but I think it could be better. Ex. Most people simply fly back and forth so it was pretty monotonous, and only half as fun as I thought it’d be. PvP if it occurs will really only be frustrating to players and is a rather unsportsmanlike option to include.

-Improvements: I’d like to see this concept as a relay race, testing not only commanders’ impulse speed but warp as well, jumping through several systems. Perhaps maybe even stopping on any node in the designated systems/race course?

-Scratch the PvP it doesn’t lend itself to a race within the confines of STFC. If it had scoring for PvP I might feel differently.

-Overall: I appreciated the attempt to communicate how the event works well before hand, but was still confused after seeing the video; exceptional response time on needed edits to the event really pleased with the changes; event start at reset created an unfair advantage for anyone who managed to figure it out, skewing the subsequent leader boards, recommend starting on the hour after reset; on face value not exceptionally fun or enjoyable as an event.

While it should be there, with a countdown timer to show when it starts, it's unnecessary to check that bucket. Just be ready at the right hour on the hour. Test scoring with a short travel segment, and if you get the toast popup, you're good to go.

The realta event isn't scoring unless you stop the ship at each end of the trip and wait for the score to catch up, if you go in a straight line between A and B and stop at B and wait for it to score and then go from B to C it will score. if you go from A to B to C to D etc etc and only stop just before the timer has ended thinking you can save a few sec from not waiting for the scoring, you will get less then half the score that you would normally get. Tested it two times and made sure that I got the ship to stop moving a few sec before the end of time. both times I scored about half of what I scored when I waited for the score to catch up. Calling it a race when you haveto wait for the scoring at one end is a bit strong...

My feedback on the realta event
Since the channel states so, in case it's of interest to devs & co:

The idea which is behind the Realta-Race event is quite nice in principle. I do see that some new gameplay is tried out and appreciate it much.
Leaving behind any kind of obvious bug/design limitation of how it's currently implemented, I want to say that I'm personally not a big fan of any game design which forces players having to do certain actions at a specific time.
I like playing this game because its one of the few ones which lets u play for an hour or two during a day whenever you feel like, w/o having to set a time table to do activities at specific points.

Maybe the event could be redesigned just a bit, to still allow players like me who don't wanna have their RL time table be driven by games w/o giving up the new gameplay idea?

In case this hasn't been considered yet:
Give the event a 1 day runtime. Allow a player to move to a startpoint and then start the 3 min counter where he has to race in the system. That'd give the player full control about when he wants to do the activity, w/o giving away too much of the chellange of this new game design IMO.

(disclaimer: I understand that there might technical restrictions speaking against such an implementation - just wanted to state this idea, in case it wasn't considered yet)

So, i have some feedback. Not all of it nice but i'll keep it constructive:

• The idea of the event, i like a lot. Communication needs to be improved though. Both in the rules and in the timing.
• Server lag won the race basically.
  • Scoring didn't work on every stop like it did in the qualifiers.
  • It's hard to move a lot if you can't click your ship
• Maybe do more of a soccer tournament style instead of one final race for everyone who joined the qualifiers? That splits up the lag as well.

In general, i'm glad a new style of event is introduced. But like a lot of things that are new (not just with scopely but in development overall) it needs a bit of work.

2 - use a feature like Q trials, where it starts the countdown and ends after you kill a specific hostile (or several) . Players can start at will then and place throughout the day.

3 - if same scoring, next time require a specific officer as captain to prevent multi-realta players for just winning.

4 - need much better in game communication if the event will be a limited window. Discord announcements don't count!

Next time you run the rally event; players can enter qualifications as many times as they want but receive one ticket for finals. Finals run every two hours and require a ticket. Competing with other similarly leveled players.

For the Realta race, I had fun and was happy to see something new in game, so thank you for trying something new! A couple pieces of feedback I had based on my experience

• I agree with some kind of limit on the number of realtas that can 'count' for the contest
• Had numerous legs where it seems as though points didn't count, despite fully stopping before moving on to the next leg -- that was pretty frustrating because I made sure to stop before starting the next leg
• I think we need some kind of obvious countdown timer -- something like in the 10 minutes leading up to the start and then a countdown of race time during the race itself, just make it a little easier to know exactly when to hit 'go'

Other than that, had a fun time, thanks for trying something new!

I actually really enjoyed doing the races and it's to be commended that we got something other than "click 1000 baddies or spend £50" as an event. The mechanics of it worked OK (although agree a timer would be good) and it was quite fun to compete. However I echo everyone else the the communication was abysmal. Events in game should be communicated in game, and thought through first not just changed after each ill thought out announcement causes uproar. I shouldn't have to see a Discord post linking to a YouTube video to know what I'm supposed to be doing. And the final was botched obviously, qualifiers should have been issued a token for a final race and they should have been held every 2 hours.

I'd written off doing the final as it clashed with territory capture but when TC ended I looked at events and saw, by accident, that the final was actually in half an hour so managed to do it. 48 took part on my leaderboard and it was at 6pm so not a tricky time, just no-one knew it was happening.

I liked the Realta race and it being something different. The token originally given out should of been for those qualified into a "final" so they could only compete once and multiple finals would be run to allow different time folks a chance to finish. Also the fact people have multiple Realtas completely breaks the fairness of this event. Someone has 4 Realtas?? That's cheating the game as it is to even get that amount and they should be removed. Should be plenty easy to identify the people who did so with the high scoring beyond the normal threshold. Otherwise you need to issue everyone a new light craft like a Realta that cannot be scrapped and insures everyone only has one of, for this kinds of events in the future.

Apart from the fact that's a silly scoring mechanic, often people who were in the armada and participated in beating it did not score any points. It was completely broken so scoring by starting Armadas is fairer and infinitely better.

You still have one of the planetary missions outstanding, but as it currently stands, an unlock will require running 4 ticket events. You will have to have a banked ticket, get 4 claims in 3 days, or pay. They might give a gift chest, but don't count on it. This has been one of the most anti-player arcs in ages

Admitted I have tried a bit harder on previous arcs, but i got up to 800k or 900k credits. And those arcs usually at least gave a bit of materials and resources on the side. Basically what you get from this arc is half an epic officer plus a trickle of random stuff from the BP.

You know what the event store really does need? BUILDING RESOURCES. The rate at which they come in f2p is so terrible. new/returning players are at a struggle when it comes to things like command center, armory, mess hall, etc... I missed one a couple of months back. When I queried, support said I'd missed one of the alliance help events (i.e. the send 60 helps one) which I argued was basically impossible to fail when I'm logging in daily, hitting the purple help button when I see it and usually put rss into the alliance on those events. They then claimed they'd made a mistake and it was actually a borg probe/swarm event that I failed to complete. I've also got an alliance member who struggled to complete it for several months in a row - he wasn't sure if he'd made the mistake with the first fail so doubled down on completing subsequent months but failed like four in a row.

Once in two years there have been events added after the end of the arc, once. Extended store, maybe more, but other than that 1 time it was cause either people complained that they forgot to spend or cause of some other issue like server issues that caused the store to be extended.
in this case (today) it is no ones fault other than the players if they didnt get their currency spent. Plenty of issues are Scopely's fault without trying to attribute ones that are the players faults to them.

The Bonus refinery isn't an event, its an extra pull of all your basic refinery materials, theres no conflict there because mining is part of the game you should be doing every day as part of your dailies and if you're not thats not a conflict of events thats just a difference of priorities in y our game play, and like I said the bonus refinery was launched with a 4 day count down timer so you had plenty of notice it was coming. Now if your server is one thats in a constant state of war and you cna't mine then I can see that being a challenge but if its not, theres no issue there. Apex being made a weekly event killed it for me, I don't need to run armadas constantly so I just do the absolute minimum and ignore that event anyway.

That doesn’t make sense to me. When one humps a zeroed base, no damage is done. I would be ok with not getting credit (10 points) for a PvP win in that event, but there’s no reason the hull damage shouldn’t count as damage done. pulling max refines doesn't always make the most sense either depending on your level but I disagree with your argument that you'll run out; its a question of making the most of the time you have. at ops 46 my max pulls are 1M per chest, 14M per week under normal circumstances, I'm easily pulling in 30M per week without really even trying, even at ops 28 I had no issues keeping up with max pulls but I had to have 3 miners working daily to build up the stockpiles, especially when we had a rogue hitting transwarp every day, but its possible if you plan ahead for it.

This is the worst arc start since I started playing. I'm an ops 33 very light spender, and I'm not looking forward to anything this month. I'm barred from getting the new specialty ship, the PvP side isn't as attractive for me, so the officers aren't that great for my playstyle. And above all I still have so much to do with the latest additions that I cannot see the end of it. I don't have the Talios, I'm halfway for the Voyager and whenever I see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel, another grind is added with no option for <40 players.

I lost three people in my alliance for that very reason this week, in an alliance that had little to no attrition since it was founded a year ago. I do wonder if there's someone planning the game and arc mechanics.

you are right, but there are enough players spending even for the monthly $20 USD small battlepass packs that there is a good revenue stream. However, I believe the bigger problem is blowing $300-$600 USD on packs/SLB goodies that become obsolete 2-4 arcs later. I am a mid tier spender and frankly, I am putting a pause on anything more than the small battlepass pack and the occasional $10USD officer pack they put out.
My server is stale and nothing happens. $copely does nothing to freshen the content to encourage hostile competition between alliances. The biggest excitement daily is 'that' player that gets off shooting drills off nodes at random and seeing their name in GC. I think that player is on every server.
The grind has gotten bad enough that I got my Sanctus for free and by the time I clear the rep for the Crozier, it will be free too. We will see past that.

Dear Scopely. These new officers cross the line from a pay-for-advantage game to a pay-to-win game. That's a serious blow to the appeal of this game. That and your need to keep rolling out new, increasing obscure ships with new increasingly complicated grinds is getting old. No-one has the time for that, especially if they are not buying into things. And why does your algorithm seek to block advancements... I've been under 10 shards off FC Spock for 2 months and, after getting 1 or 2 per week for ages, I haven't seen a single one in 6 weeks. All annoying and just sucks the fun out of the game. the level scaling for points on that doesn't really incentivise you to punch up - yeah, your milestone finishes in 7 level 60's, but also 15 level 38's. or, for you, 3 level 43's, and 7 level 40's. an extra 4 hostiles is not much.

Highly recommend changing the currency needed for the ships parts in the Apex Outlaw event store from Rogue Event Trophies to Contraband Chips.

As I am ops 47, I view the Hijacked Ships as worthless now and yet they are the only thing I can spend on the +50k chips I've saved up.

If the RETs are used only for the research medals and materials pulls, this would be more economical.

Additionally, this change would aid the higher level players, who have invested time, effort & mostly likely $, in gaining the parts, that are seemingly always in short supply, they need.

I think you'll also find many competitions run inside the US aren't scoped to allow APAC because of various laws. They are a US company with no physical location in other regions to run competitions

My frank feedback on the Ransom SMS/SLB...it's an officer I highly value and was looking forward to spending a lot of mats to get. That said, I cannot in good conscience send the message that I am willing to spend that level of materials for half the rewards of previous heroic sms officer events (because it then sets a precedent)....especially when we are only being given one chance at the unlock this month and no idea about what the future sourcing for these new officers will look like.

This month has almost every new feature behind a paywall...some of which I have bought into. How this issue is handled moving forward will affect whether I continue to see STFC as a good sync for my time and resources.
