The „upgrade the treasury“ event design is crappy. Cant put it any nicer way. Which nitwit had the grandious idea to take a building for which people get a ridiculously low amount of upgrade materials every day, and turn it into a „who can spend most of those scarce materials“-contest?
I mean, it is already an akward low amount that is given out anyways, why put even more attention to that fact by inventing an event that puts the big spotlight on how bad the design around these special building upgrade materials is? Quite a shot in the oven 😏

This is also simply false. I've never bought a desealing rod ever and my lockbox is the same as everyone at my ops level.

The treasury has two flavours: £17.99 for f2p/low spenders, £89.99 for higher spenders. Everything else is ops level based.

That's clearly a bug or other issue.

Actually the cheaper lockboxes are usually the “best” cost:value ratio as they’re full of officer shards but only cost a small amount in comparison. 🙂

This is incorrect, there are 4 tiers of the lockbox: 5, 20, 50, and $100. There are reasons you have the lockboxes you do, but they are not necessarily the reasons someone else on a different server has a different one. Their circumstances must all be taken into account to determine the reason their lockbox is the way it is.

When treasury came out, people were sorted onto 4 groups based on how much they spent on the game previously. If you have spent enough, you might have the 100€ lockbox since then. If not, then ONLY way to move to higher group (5 to 20, 20 to 50 or 50 to 100) is to buy the desealing rod. So for FTP / new players you will spend 5€ and get not very exciting amount of mats, but decent amount of officer shards for that cost. Next month, your lockbox will have slightly more inside it and will cost you 20€ to unlock. If you do that again, next month you will see even better content inside, but desealing rod will cost 50€ to unlock. If you buy it again, then next month and every month going forward you will always see the best 100€ treasury lockbox (which also costs most € to unlock).
The reason to spend those 75€ over 3 months is to make the content of treasury match the 100€ lockbox, but you do not have to buy 100€ pack to get desealing rod - you can use your free broken desealing rods to claim a free 100€ worth of treasury every few months even though you spent 75€ to get there. So while you are not getting many resources from the cheap lockboxes, you still get some value in officer shards, and you are improving your treasury content forever. It takes 3 months and costs 75€, but it takes about 4-5 months to get the free treasury unlock, so you will get 2-3 100€ packs a year from it for free. It is not a bad deal for light spenders.

Here’s is some constructive criticism: Think of something original for an event and stop trying to gouge your players. Having endless armada events in different systems so that the players need to spend countless hours and amounts of money to participate in is doing ABSOLUTELY nothing for this game and is in fact, FORCING many players to leave. This game will be nothing but a few whales that buy stuff for no reason other than the fact that they want to buy something.. but the funny part is.. they will leave too because there will be no other players for them to show Gf their shiny toys to.
Start thinking of the smaller players that don’t have a lot to spend, but still spend a bit.. keep them engaged or this game is finished.

This has probably been mentioned but this Arc is horrible for Armadas. There's so many events that require Armada directives and currently the game does not provide enough to run nearly enough to complete without relying on expensive purchases or other players to complete. There needs to be a higher rate of obtaining directives and/or allow for Latinum to be used as well.

If you already have that many Armada events in a row, please give the players several Armada directives as well. with the exchange armada directives you get thrown in and the others, which are there for almost all other armadas, you hardly get any.

I love the Bajoran Loop. It is well thought out for the most part (get the higher levels fixed up quickly though please, that will be losing you money) and it seems pretty stable. It's the best loop created yet, and I think it's brilliant. A+++

The events that go around it though, wow. They are so disjointed and weird. Are the events team having a month off? What's going on? Treasury events? Ferengi officers instead of DS9 crew? Cardassians behind a paywall? It's a dog's breakfast. I have never rated an arc an F but I have to say, events wise this is it.

The events are supposed to go with the loop, to get players engaged. There are still players who don't know what's going on in Dominion Space and the Bajoran Faction Store, that's crazy. The events should be engaging people with the armadas, helping us get the new officers, maybe helping us tier our ships to the right level.

I feel baffled.

Pretty much impossible to hit the first milestone in 2 days doing Syndicate double pulls on a t5 mantis....yes...the FIRST milestone....Did they misplace the decimal?

Hmm, my mantis is T5, a single chest is 1.900 xp, so a double chest is 3.800 xp. that is 19.000 points per day. 2 days, thats 38.000 points and you "only" need 31.350 points for the first milestone. add to that the normal xp you get daily for the syndicate.
don't forget, 1 xp = 5 points

I totally agree that the amount required is insane. to get anywhere beyond the first milestone requires not only a Mantis, for which one had to pay, but also syndicate xp pack which require additional money. So, it is not only a Pay-to-Win event, it is a Pay_a_lot_extra-to-Win event. 😦
As for the double pulls? well, a double pull costs 105k venom which is quite manageable, at least for me. But yeah, requires me to spend both of my daily tokens and spend those 90 mins total hunting for venom

The syndicate sms is a joke, top milestone at 313k when each xp gained is worth 5 points, means I need to gain 63k xp give or take, 800 per day from syndicate chests, 3800 or so from double mantis pull per day gives me a whopping 9200 xp in the time allotted in the best case scenario. With all of the grinding were expected to do each day plus events plus alliance interactions etc plus all the broken actions I gave up on the mantis long ago. I don't feel like dropping $300 just to finish an SMS.

EVERY SMS NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO BE COMPLETED FREE TO PLAY!!!

if you really want to run events like this that encourage spending then at least run a companion event with lower milestones that is actually doable, give us the regular and a heroic but don't just pïss on your players and call it rain.

We have had alliance members turn in the 6, see the event store option clear as it should, but then no new meta event in espionage folder until they force a localization clear and restart. What ever gave you the impression that you are playing a pvp game??? It’s farmwille under a different name. Farmers doesn’t like pvp because it cost them resources to repair. @wanton copper What is going on with the scaling for this Syndicate event? Even if this is a "Pay to Play" event, the price seems a little high... I have managed to accumulate Syndicate rewards from the Arc's Battle Pass, an event today and addition to three days' worth of daily collection but still, I haven't reached the first milestone. Someone in my alliance even joked about you would need to buy 12 Syndicate packs to collect enough!! I understand these officers are worth a lot but it just seems a bit far-reaching!!!

Yes, you won't get the new event chain unless you spend 6x rods in a single Receive exchange.

The exchanges are tiered, T1 is Investigate, T2 is Transmit, T3 is Receive. We all started at T1, and to progress to the next tier, you had to have exchanged 6x rods into one of the investigate exchanges.

@wanton copper the new Barjoran Jem hostiles are not working out. There are three ship types of hostiles in each system (Interceptor, Explorer, Battleship) which on paper seems a good split to allow different players to focus on one because of the triangle advantage.
However, you've made one of the types MUCH easier to kill, meaning every single player is chasing around the system after the same ones, making the grind look like an 8 year old boys football team all chasing the ball in a pack. this means in reality less than 6 hostiles in a system at any time and upwards of 40 or even 50 seconds impulse flight to get to them - multiply that by the number of hostiles needed and its a HUGE time investment needed.

Two thirds of the hostiles are being completely ignored and on my server at least it can mean only one run taking up to an hour which is a massive misuse of my in-game time - to the point where I'm considering if its worth doing.

Either you need to make them all the same type tripling the available hostiles to kill, or balance their strengths which brings the triangle properly back into play again. There simply aren't enough at the moment

edit: there are currently only three hostiles of the desired type and four players in my system. its just taking far too long and very frustrating

Tells me that it wasn't named that before, so you aren't finished. Only after you spend 6x rods into Receive will you get the new event chain. The Receive exchange will be there next week, and you should be able to get 6x more rods then.

How does this even make sense whatsoever? Scopely purposefully has made rep progression painfully slow. There’s no way to buy rep directly and are limited by your daily chest pulls. Having a SMS event based on rep progression is completely opposite of their own intent for player rep progress. Events like this just don’t make any sense Scopely.

5500 / 120 = 46 armadas (rounded up) = 8 armadas started per person (rounded up) within the group of 6.

8 armadas per event, fifth run of the event this month. Let's be generous and assume it's not run again, that's 8 x 5 = 40 uncommon armadas this month, 4000 directives. And it's probably going to run tomorrow so add 800 more to that.

They don’t care. Despite what they say they WANT the game and events to be as long as possible and a grind. There are two reasons. First: screen time spent on this game means screen time you don’t give to any other game. Second: because of the time sink they create just enough players get frustrated enough to spend hundreds of dollars on these events to buy more rewarding starts so they can theoretically spend less time in the game, but for a significant $ cost. Bonus for them is that even after spending money to lower the time sink and grind, those players spend just as much time in game getting frustrated about other grinds, AND SPEND TO SHORTEN THOSE TOO.

I’ve never played less in my time with STFC than I have with this current arc and the pure paywall to be even part of pvp…. And I love pvp. The rewards earned for the expenditure of directives to participate in the over abundant armadas events are abysmal and the costs to participate prohibitive and unrealistic to the critical mass of people who play this game. The event stores coming up better be worth it.

Had a 55 in our alliance quit today because there just isnt enough time to complete things in the game, and compounded with constant bugs. This is a common sentiment across the game right now. I am also feeling this, as this constant Carmada event takes several hours and precious resources to complete. If this is an event you dont intend everyone to finish every day, maybe consider marking it heroic? If that is not the case, maybe consider reducing the number of armadas required or increase the points gained from hostiles.

Dangerous pattern emerging here - players unable to complete SMS events. That kind of dissatisfaction and demoralization is IMO the beginning of the end for this game. Players realize they can no longer complete the events they once were able to reliably complete, because Scopely changed their approach. But players won’t see that; they will just see the game becoming more difficult to play, taking more time, unable to be completed, and unremarkable rewards for the long grind. This is bad in an instant. But a pattern is developing. These ‘heroic’ SMS events now combined with back to back armada events create a pattern - events which cannot be completed. Players can see this happening, and the comments here and on other servers and threads bear this out. The danger is this - if the player base acclimates to not being able to complete events, that is EQUAL to not playing the game. From there, the choice to put down the game entirely becomes much easier.

Game has been that way most of the year. Once people were happy with officer sourcing and most events in discovery arcs Scopely realized they were only posting absurd profits instead of Bond villain profits.
Happy players don’t spend. Frustrated players and players stuck in the sunk cost fallacy spend to try and get out of the growing time sink and missing out on any rewards no matter how paltry they are.

This arc is a prime example. The cardassian armada events are horrible return on investment of time and ships, even if you do all epics. Problem is, people are willing to keep spending and spending and spending and they keep finding new people to spend. Take a serious survey, find out how much people spent on the cardassian crew this month on your server, despite the pretty much universal panning on the approach. Poll how many people keep buying armada packs to finish super grindy events with low rewards.

Here’s the real problem: stupid doesn’t sleep, and Scopely knows how to tap into their wallets.

The player base has been begging for a DS9 arc for a long time. We're very disappointed in it thus far. Yes, Scopely phoned it in... which I think may be due to senior programmers and QA flying the coop. Their Agile dev process is broken. They have super bloated code, no real strategy for long term progression, and they rely way too much on bug reports from the user base. They have a fairly large base of whales that keep forking out the money because they're too afraid to fall behind the other whales. As long as they keep spending, Scopely will keep releasing garbage.

This arc is absolutely nothing new. The template of DS9 is pretty much the same as all the others. Other than new trinkets and officers the basic premise is the same. Go do Armadas , Kill Hostiles, Spend Mats and repeat. This game is stale and unimaginative and the descriptions of each event bear absolutely no resemblance to what the game play should be. Borg and Worms two perfect examples.
The only thing that keeps me in this game is the camraderie with a few players in the Alliance and others in the game.. That's it.

Players will probably stay in base shielded . At least on our server. PvP events are not easy to make it fun. Definitely as they stand are not worthwhile.
Imagine during a Borg/ mega cube event these things would roam and appear randomly anywhere. The server would then need to work together with hundreds of attacks to defeat these cubes. Especially if they invade territory and win otherwise that territory would be assimilated . The rewards for the server would be great and the goal/ milestones to defeat it achievable.

Only way I could see is tightening the level brackets down or at least the ability to score outside tight brackets. Borg Event is still very disappointing event. Grind with min rewards. Event store with good options and only few credits for purchases which don't move a needle in progression of anything bought. If this is somehow fast 24h event which happens 3 times a month this would make sense. Also and I have called out this multiple times Borg Recruit SLB is mixing officers shards and XP in such a way that shards award points are ridiculously low compered to XP. Often I don't complete Borg events.
CoW ALB rewards are pointlessly low. And looking how rare this event is and that it last 3 days, solo rewards are not really good either. If there was no option for arma dir I would probably skip it.

The objective of that event is not to fill your crew, but to get the Max point possible per run. If hitting highter give you more points so you can do the event, it's what I would do

If you have access to SNW crews, try SNW Pike (c), SNW Uhura, then either go synergy or 5 of 11 for the last spot. Fill the lower decks with stats needed to reach the max boost, but allow yourself to go over and above on Attack to take advantage of SNW Uhura's ability. I've been hitting 33s basically since the SNW crew came out and that was 5-7 ops levels ago, and i'm only ops 35 now.

Have you tried a regular hostile crew?
I personally found Picard/Bev/Chen better for 30’s than the borg crew. Pmc also was better but not as good as pbc. If you have the snw crew they do way better

The goal of normal probe grinding isn’t to fill your hold but to get enough for a single refine as fast as possible and on one trip right?
Anyway. The best advice I got when bringing my Vi’dar up was don’t pay attention to how many probes you get, but how many you can kill.
When you move you to harder probes, find the setup that gives you the most kills. For the event find the setup and probe level that gives you the most points.
Also, don’t burn all your cells daily. Save them until you have the max, then do one run and collect your 2. That way you always have 9 for when these events come up and you need to make more than one run

The Espionage event is absolutely so poorly executed. I cannot complete it now only because design opened a door wide that I can accidentally click on wrong choice and disable my self from completion.
Since for some reason there is a cool down on purchase of intel reports, i went to finish something else, instead of waiting and looking on purchase cooldown timer, which I don't understand why it exists at all.
When I returned ofc there is no face on a picture and I have clicked on wrong portait and now cannot finish not one but 3 events! If you wanted to allow one choice then you should design it to limit a player to choose one, not create 6 one-click opportunities for players to trip them self all that after very boring hostile grind.

Ignoring the sourcing being underwhelming. Naming an event "Garak" and the sms being entirely a Halloween reward is misleading, the alb is only slightly better by including his frame. It make no sense to name the event for Garak and not including his shards in the rewards. Doesn't matter if he is in the event store, because so are many other officers and they're not named in the event. Because he's an optional choice from the rewards, it should just be a Halloween event. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for a poor reception from the community since it's totally misleading.

No client/customer is going to respond positively to misleading expectations or a bait and switch. This goes back to what the community sees as an expectation because it was given in past events and suddenly not. If it's not sustainable throughout, then don't offer it to begin with. Nobody likes feeling things are being "taken from them" because it was given prior. Correcting these things going forward will be critical in building a better community relationship.

My experience so far as a defender? As soon as you warp in to a system any invading Frank-As just warp out. It's pretty much impossible to find any targets.

1. the scoring disparity between offense and defense still ACTIVELY DISCOURAGES participation in incursions
2. paired pve/pvp events.....might be some potential there by why in the name of Spock did you (meaning Scopely in general) pick such an expensive ship to base it around? At ops 41, the Franky A is my most expensive repair.
3. looks like hitting dead bases will still dominate the leaderboards.
   Overall Impression: Meh to Meh -
   Edit: forgot to add - I still think the intensity level of this event is inappropriate for the player base of this game. I don't believe that we, as a whole, want to focus that much attention on STFC that often. Maybe twice a year? Even every other month just sounds tiring anymore. Maybe I'm just tired though.

I quite enjoyed the Franklin-A PvP event. I put on a crew of TOS Kirk, TOS Uhura, and Marcus, and I got all of the milestones before I had to go repair. I just sat in an L41 swarm system and chased any of the other server that came in. I had my Disco parked in the other L41 system so I could jump my Franklin there if invaders went there instead. Got all the milestones in 15-20 minutes. Easy. Time to now jump servers and try to hunt swarms with the usual PMT crew.

How should one do PvE and pvp with the same ship? And Franklin A is the worst decision for that unless you separate the pvp PvE system for appropriate levels as a level 35 player has no chance against a level 37 player as Franklin upgrades are level bound. Hence there should be pvp PvE systems for the respective level bracket for a fair battle.

You have to be on the other server to get any points on the Franklin-A PvE event. Killing swarms on your own server doesn’t give you any points. You can only do the defensive (PvP) event on your own server, so put an anti-Explorer crew on your Franklin and go kill other Franklins. Then try to do the PvE event with the usual PMT crew if/when you crossover later on.

The "Second Contact Elite: Borg - SMS" event in the cerritos-subgroup is pretty lackluster. Since borgs lvl 33 are the maximum we have I would need to kill 102 borg probes WHILE being supported. How much cerritos juice do you think we have? O.o It's really time to implement bigger borg probes. In regards to the daily grinds, running those lvl 33 is my biggest time dump. It sucks. Maybe give us lvl 40 and above probes so the daily grind for nanoprobes is less AND the second contact event is actually doable (and dare I say...fun?)

Franklin event stinks. Level 36-39 players get completely screwed over since there is a level cap on Franklins. Keep getting walloped by higher level players and I have ZERO chance to get any points. If you were going to have a completely unbalanced event like this, at least you could give some points for a loss also.

My other ships (Enty and Augur) can't even get to higher level swarm space to hit their Franky-A's.

Oh, and my Franky A is getting crushed by the other servers 4* ships without even a chance to hit a swarm ship. Complete crock.

No points for loss is what makes these no fun. Disco is more fun because you at least get points for a loss (even though it's really poor numbers). 9k for win, 4k for loss. You finish it even when losing. Wins mean you get there faster. And less points for not using Frank. This is needed.

Looks like Scopely found the perfect compromise (by Eco’s own definition) of an event. PvP folks are miserable. PvE folks are miserable. It’s about 4 minutes to get to a system. It’s a 3 minute round trip to dodge a big ship and come back to the same system. I spent an hour to get to the first milestone. What was Scopely’s projected time to complete this event, considering they want to reduce screen/grind time? I guess I can look forward to a mantis about this same time next year.😖

Worst incursions ever. I should have expected it. Frank A pvp in a system 10 minutes away and get to do it 8x if you win them all (to finish all milestones). Well there’s 1hr 20m gone and it’s not guaranteed you’ll finish the event.. kudos scopely & team. Hi the hunt swarm event for incusions was okay , what made it difficult was spitting it into two 10 hours time period , which for doesn't work, i can't be on the game all the time , please make it one event next time. One side needing Franklin PvE and other side needing PvP just encourages the PvE side to escape. They gain nothing by PvPing, and hurt the other side by escaping. Only counter is to bring a Mantis(shocker). Garbage event

@wanton copper It would be really awesome if shifty players on your server weren't able to repeatedly hit empty bases to jump to #1 in the Champion XSLB without doing anything actually useful for the incursions overall. So players who actually spend the time and effort get way lower points than players who leverage that bug. We've had a player on 87 using this bug to repeatedly place #1. It's really demoralizing for those of us that actually do put effort into the event.

Right now there's absolutely no point in defending because the attackers are going to get 3x the points of you. If everyone got 1 point for 1 hull dmg, this would encourage more PvP

I thought this round of Incursions was a 5/10. And this is coming from a fan of Incursions (as a concept, not necessarily how it has been implemented so far).

I like the idea of a PvE component, but I'd like to see a different ship/hostile combo for next time. Maybe vidar/probes or stella/exchange hostiles. The rewards also need to be increased. As it was, the reward was so low that I was happy to ignore the Franklin event until someone offered to trade hits to finish it.

Previous incursions have been much more fun, with more engaging PvP action. This one was sleepy in comparison. Maybe due to the events, or maybe due to our partner server's engagement.

The Frank-A PvP event was horrible, and any ship/hostile combo they try will be just as bad because there isn't an incentive to have a ship to ship (equal type) fight. Not a single person in servers 68/69 completed the Frank-A event without asking and getting help to do so.

FFS reduce the number of red triangles that need hitting for faction hunt. It’s over 260 for me. Add that to dailies and bajoran red triangles to get a little credit to use in the store, and Borg, etc., and it’s all day on a mobile phone game that’s supposed to be a distraction, not a full-time job!

Eu player here. I liked the idea of a pve event on attack. Franklin was a bit painful as the warp times are sooo long, especially if the ship was pvped.

What was a royal pain in the neck was the pvp event. On the first run I had fun hunting people, but it took a bit too long. The 4th tier of event was not fun anymore. On the second I simply agreed in GC a system in both servers to trade kills.

Our event reset is at 1800h local time, so doing the first pvp in the evening with many active players was fun, but then the second leg from 0600 until 1800, with few players active was a no-fun chore.

I think Faction Hunt & Crucible of War are fine the way they are...
They are only 2 x 3-day Events each month, and if you do your dailies right, CoW gets completed along with it without extra grind.
Faction Hunt is only a little more than the daily grind, and pays out really good rewards 👍

Screentime is bad purely because of all the extra grind elements in the game that have been added.
Swarm/Augment data/Borg/Eclipse/Latinum was bad enough...
Now add Concentrated Lat/Mantis/Cardassian Armadas/Jem Haddar hostiles...

The only add-on element that works is Disco/Anomylous Phenomina. Jump once, summon once, job done, and pull your refinery each day.

Since the new arc always starts on Tuesdays, can something please be done about Latinum Mondays? If someone can't play during the day on Monday, but is available at night, they get shafted every month due to maintenance. Is it really so hard to not run any ALBs on the day before the new arc launch? Why not switch Mondays and Wednesdays around, since the Cerritos events are solos that are much easier to finish than trying to maintain competitiveness in ALBs?
