This release has been all backwards. The notice of maintenance and the News feed Arc schedule both should've been released prior to the update; that way players would've been better prepared.

Recommend ideal order of notices & updates:
Maintenance notice followed by Arc Schedule News prior to release, maintenance period, then event activation, which should match the daily missions reset.

The Xindi systems start at 34. The average F2P won't even have a good enough epic G3 to kill Xindi by ops 35. And Ex-Borg faction rep doesn't even unlock until Ops 38.

It flags on Avast as well. Mainly because they didn't RENAME THEIR .EXE when they pushed the Unity version live so all downloads are matched with "prime.exe" which is also a known crypto mining malware, which is leading to the antivirus flags. Serious ask though, is Scopely related to Bethesda Games, because bugs are the bread and butter.

Just an FYI, you've made the Xindi grind 5X harder by taking half of the hostiles out of Xindi space that supply Xindi scraps (Reptilian), and replacing them with hostiles that give PAR loot (Aquatics).

I now have to reevaluate if this grind is at all worth the time youve added to my day.

The last time I checked this game was under 9GB installed on my phone. It's now 10 GB with the latest update. Why is this taking 10 GB on my phone for a game that does the vast majority of of the heavy lifting in Amazon web services?

The instability is not network connectivity as is often given as the reason. It's incompetence. There's absolutely no good reason this game requires 10GB. I'd be generous and say with modern bloat it might be at 2GB. But frankly there's no reason it should be over 1GB.

Scopely has raked in over $600 million on stfc alone. 20 years ago a game that cost $50 could be released on a 700MB CD and installed with no updates and run infinitely more stable on local hardware. On top of that, they were considered extremely successful if they made a tenth what stfc has. How can Scopely not fix this game?

there's been a massive push over the last year and some from scopes to go "No, you shall not coast through content with t4-6 ships", which has good /bad parts to it, solo armadas was the start of it, then freebooters (except they freed Tal at the same time). Max g3 epics seem the order of the day until you can start pushing up a 42 ship

This Xindi grind is absurd. You can’t expect someone to do 12 to 20 hours of xindi grinding over the course of 2 days(that’s with a loot crew). At least have all 3 kinds of ships drop scraps, not just interceptors in 3 systems on an overcrowded server. Not to mention the app closing out every 1 to 2 minutes or less because of the congestion.

@tacit obsidian @royal solar According to the Xindi-Aquatic buffs the Be Like Water buff says "As the start of the round this hostile reduces the players critical hit damage by 2500% for 2 rounds". For Xindi Might the description says "At the end of every round this ship fires 9 shots etc."

So based on the first description it would seem the Be Like Water should only impact for the first two rounds, however, today I had 82 rounds with my NX-01 and every single Critical Hit was 0 damage!!!

Is this a misunderstanding of the buff or a bug?

<@&509690795536941056> Just so we are clear, there is now 3 separate grinds for the faction that was promoted as the method to reduce grinds in the game. (1) Freebooter, (2) Reptialian Xindi, (3) Aquatic Xindi. Now to be fair the Freebooters were a great addition and does actually reduce the grind a bit. But the other 2 fall short of that. I'll admit that the new favors may speed up some grinds like faction and ship parts but it doesn't seem like it speeds it up enough to actually reduce game time since you have to grind 1 or both Xindi to get the favors and then go grind the faction ships for rep.

• Each new loop brings a grind that is time-consuming for one or more obscure new currencies, instead of providing new ways to obtain existing ones.
• Every new ship introduced also eats up more and more rss & mats, but the supplies don't change.
• Despite all the new grinds, there are daily chest and now also daily hostile loot limits, hindering progress on days we might have a bit more time to play.
• Milestones keep going up & rewards keep going down. "Oh, it's just because we think this officer is REALLY good. It'll be back to normal next month..."
• I can't go to OPs 54 right now because I need Rare 5* ore that I can't produce, meaning chance pulls in Bajor, and event payouts. That's just stupid.
• Protracted 50-70 bracket issues & the economic restructuring of G3, G4 & G5 mats mean my event payouts are way down anyway.
• Even when you ran MS for Tripp instead of SLBs, I STILL had the same milestones as someone ops 63.
• Waves are a terrible time-suck and so unsatisfying when you can't keep random players from interrupting careful ship planning.
• Xindi are epically bad. Requiring so many hostiles (despite the limits) and so much rss in repairs on my corv (before I can really establish at G5 at 54+ and get enough rewards to keep the thing going all day).
• Ops-locked ships prolong my grinds.
• Bugs go unfixed for ages, and player preferences and problems with gameplay are often completely ignored.
• Support never reads the tickets properly and always assumes the player is wrong before actually looking into the issue, hoping the ticket will time out before you respond and complain more. Plus they can be passive-aggressive sometimes.

So I shall leave the game, and never pick up another Scopely product. Just thought you should know.

The only real positives that come to mind is that it could be worse. Communication, for instance, has at least been not too bad. So, #1: in Xindi space, the game resets every 10 seconds, literally, every 10 seconds. It only resets occasionally and randomly other times. Please fix that. Running on an iPad. We know it’s not even, just tell us. Put the darn ‘eye’ on every chest. List out what we own when we go to do pulls. So many things you could do to curb the resentment of the player base and potentially gain at least a bit of favor.

Btw, just got a reply from support on my ticket. I was hitting xindi hostiles in lvl 34 systems and not scoring points on the slb. Turns out that the slb will only score in lvl 40+ systems. Anyone else run in to the Ex-Borg research screw up yet? All those nice helpful research items to make it easier to grind F/K/R hostiles. Anyone know how to turn it off? Go to Ex-Borg space kill 10 -13 targets and 2/3 of your daily grind done. But now with those in place Im back to the old grind of having to send a ship to a lv 43 swarm system. Why cause the Ex-Borg stuff make rep gaining about impossible as the F/K/R rep points cancel each other out!!! O and the shortage of ex-borg coins means you never have enough to do much in that faction store. A player cant kill enough X ships to get enough scrap to get coins to use the store! More feedback on the NX01..this ship is absolutely outrageous. When you are not ops50+ with all Explorer researches your NX01 at T1 is just not able to deal enough damage (remember.. you must not do crits there) So the fight takes to many rounds and your ship gets loads of hull damage. Depending on crew and luck its possible to kill 3-5 interceptors...you can't even try a a battleship. If you run lootcrew this will allow for 1 chest pull every 2 or better 3 days...of course you can invest even more money to buy all those primes...but the ship might be considered a scam...at least as pay content (its definitely not speeding up your progress)

So $copley removed the missions from the last arc (United Again) before I had the chance to finish them (I know, silly me for having a life outside this game). Which means I lost out the rewards. And since Im a poor peasant at level 40, I can't really participate in any of the Xindi content, cause Im not killing 800 hostiles a day for a silly single chest pull.

My feedback here @tacit obsidian is thanks for pulling a mission that would help F2P players and locking more content behind paywalls. You really do know how to alienate a good portion of your player base.

They would have suffered minimal data loss in the first few hours of the update, as it went on data loss would have gotten bigger. It's still possible but more folks are likely to complain about lost progress than what would have happened in the first few hours or even the first day

It’s all speculation how much data loss they would have suffered or not. Anyway it’s not worth the risk… everything has been migrated to work with the newer version of Unity. Downgrading changes the code and therefore certain new modules and functions would not work anymore.

Potentially, they'd have to re-do all the client changes on a pre-2021 unity branch, so that it still worked with the backend. Increasing the chance of things going wrong, for more people, as well as causing yet-more-headaches when they finally sort the current issue and want to get caught back up.
Version updates on anything are a pig to do, to get right, and to roll back/un roll later 😦

Good luck there , scopley is as bad as Bethesda is on addressing broken things. Its like they supposedly addressed the grinding to make it less of a grind , but they’ve really increased the grinding hassle with adding more things to grind for especially with their 1-3 scraps from certain xindi in the low lvl systems and the xindi in higher to tough to do a lot of . Grind all day and maybe if lucky get enough to do anything. It’s really bad when I can play nova empire which is like this game and surpass my lvl and then some in a week without ever spending a penny. Without any alliance help. I know for I have done it multiple times. There are things in this one that if improved would make this game far more fun and far better. Heck I bet if made $5 packs scopley would actually get 10x more money then they do from all there current packs combined on a daily basis. But scopley doesn’t know how to do something like that. They perfer smaller numbers of $100 a day then getting $5 daily from almost all players on all servers. Scopley should fire their sells team.

Honestly from what I've heard from other members of my alliance it sounds like the way they did comp just made things worse. If you weren't on until after they canceled it you got 2 days of elite, whereas if you did any levels you got more like a full month. And from what I understand if you used the glitch a ton of free levels. How the heck is that fixing it?

buying the pack gave you enough parts for the last level, and every time you upgraded the building you got the upgraded daily gift which contained the same amount you just spent.
so you'd effectively get a refund on every upgrade, until you did the last upgrade.

Yes, anyone who participated lost the potential slb rewards, however, if we spent after they cancelled it but before seeing the announcement past experience says they'd give us nothing.

I play on Adroid/Samsung tablet and was victimized by Mondays "update" debacle. Sent a ticket, they put up a shield for me. I tried to log on with a PC...one that has my kid's account. I used MY creds and got logged on into my kid's account! More ticket banter and on Thursday they were able get my account back and separated from my kid's account. For me on the latest iOS on a phone it is functioning but extreamly frustrating as it crashes every few minuets (2 or 3). I am able obviously to log on and protect by shielding as well as participate in game play.

Unplayable is a decisions of the player to put up with such a poor level of game stability.

Perhaps as I’ve only played on iOS, I have become tolerant to such poor coding as this level of performance is not untypical of the game for the year and half I’ve been playing.

That's Scoply's problem. If I read the numbers correctly, over 16 million have loaded this app. But according to Scoply's own advertising, 200 K log in daily. There are not really many players left now 👀. Now I see so many people with two and three profiles😆. The turnover in the Appel Shop is a joke. Scoply deliberately drove people to their own shop (I understand it somehow... Apple takes a lot of percent). When I buy, I buy through Apple Shop... so my contact person is also Apple and not Scoply. I'm probably banned right away 🙈

First of all, Scopely has pretty much trained everyone to state what os/ device they are using. When anyone says "the game is unplayable" the first question anyone asks if it's android or Apple. Even in the support bot asks that .

Second, everyone's definition of "unplayable " is different. Crashing every 2 minutes may be the threshold for some, evey 5 minutes for others. Or it may be as simple as 10+ second lag every time a button is pressed. Some days it takes over half an hour just to get through the refinary, faction, gifts etc because of lag.

This has never happened ( maybe something worked for a week or 2 ). Once again I’m left wondering how many BPs and scraps I left on the table. Just fix it like you said you would or take off the cap. Why can we get treasury full updates and not pve chest updates. The game is so stingy, the drops are not great, but we need this minor trickle of hope. I can’t tell you how many times I hit 1K pve chests with no clue where I am at. So many problems in game right now but man this one really bothers me. Also it literally takes 25 minutes to go through factions, refining and daily chests, it’s absolutely absurd. Just remember every new shiny thing is just more game bloat. Lowering the limit of the "Partial Unlock Vi'dar" purchases to 1 instead of 2, while hiding the "Full Unlock Vi'dar" pack from the real-money shop until after buying the Partial Unlock feels terrible.
Either have the option to buy the Partial Unlock twice or have the Full Unlock visible when reaching OPS25 would feel fair. Easy fix.

the waves are still unplayable by anyone under level 42-45. We can't get rep without doing waves... which in turn allows us to survive longer ... Now we can get booted by people who start them becuase we are too low. Which I agree with!! SO how about creating a LOWER level system locked to anyone over level 45.... As ops 30s content there really should be a set of 30s systems, as it stands a group of 3 49s who know what they're doing and can work together with the flow can clear wave 7 and carry 1 or 2 lower 30s/40s but after wave 7 they're pretty limited, I think we cleared wave 8 once with 4 49s, anything above wave 8 needs a G5 ship, 2 guys with G5s can easily clear wave 10 if they have support through 8. The 50s are a whole different story though.

New Android STFC update available on Feb 14. Updated and....... IT WORKS! The 10 day lock out is over! But can Scopely be my Valentine? I aint that cheap! They fixed it- that was their job so nothing extraordinary. They did provide sheilds when asked- kinda a requirement on their part. Got a couple reward packs- not close to compensation for their negligent updayevwhich caused the 10 day lockout and subsequent bugs which followed.

crit reductions are direct deductions off the crit%, not percentage reductions.
so a 50% reduction on a cardassian armada would reduce the crit from 3x normal(300%) to 2.5x normal(250%), not 1.5x normal(150%)

You're hearing one side of the story at a key point in time, immediately after a reset. Blocking out an entire server is basically impossible to keep up since it requires far too many fights/time, and it costs you progression.

They likely would have only taken positions to initially block until they get the t1 they wanted to really start from, then proceeded to claim their 5 zones.

For example, players Ops 53 with baby unc G5 ships weighing in at <150m competing for hostile damage with Ops 68 and an 8B rare G6 ship is… unbalanced, to say the least. This happens frequently and is frustrating for many players.

Events like this are a fine way to discourage folks from moving past Ops 49 (several in my alliance are camping at 49 to remain competitive in SLB events). There’s much frustration in my alliance as well from the folks in their 50’s and many folks don’t bother with these kinds of events anymore.

Please consider splitting the 50/60 brackets for all SLBs. … some SLBs are split, so I know it’s not impossible!! Will likely lead to more engagement from the folks on the disadvantaged side of the brackets now.

The dailies only ask for you to start the trials, you are under no obligation whatsoever to participate beyond paying the starting fee.

Right now I'm routinely doing 2* trials which reward 120 protomatter per completion. I am unable to complete these due to this issue. I can fall back on the 1* in order to complete something I can only get 80 protomatter per completion. Therefore I am missing out on 40 protomatter at a minimum 3X per day. That can add days or weeks to the upgrade cycle for forbidden tech. Just using bells to sit there and watch a timer expire for nothing seems a bit short sighted.

Now since it has been changed there has noty een a single official mention of this being a mistake maybe you should assume things are working as intended and be happy with those lesser rewards...

After this latest update the lag is horrid and errors you have fixed in the past reappeared (that’s known as version regression). Please for the love of god get all your developers working off the same code base FFS. I know you don’t want to pay for a testing platform or even a development platform but for the love of god after each release make them delete and reload their code base from the current production copy and reintegrate the code changes they are working on. 20 days. 6th-25th (26th technically if you have the timing right, so 21 total pulls). You would have access to 3 pulls in-game as well through the recruit tab. So you should be able to achieve it even if you miss a couple days.

Yo scopley what happened to your making the dull boring long grinding being hostile hunting , reputation or mining less of a long dull painful grind? The grind instead of becoming less of a hassle and pain it has become far worse over the last few years. Then your store prices instead of becoming less have grown to far more to almost everything being $100, don’t yall know you get far more sells for $5 then you do for $50 & $100 ones. The game is nice yes , but there are many areas where it could be improved to both lessen the grind and improve on the fun. But of course your focus is on how much you can make instead of the fun entertainment area. I alone go through hundreds of crashes in the game a day that’s not counting all the other bugs I deal with. That bit alone sucks half the fun out the other half of the fun is from the grinding and screw over on refining. Other games like this you only get a 10% loss when refining, where stfc you get anywhere from 80% - 95% losses in refining which fyi is far higher a refining loss then what real life refining gets from metals we know of. It’s really shameful and funny to think that an advanced scientific culture in an advanced future would be so wistful . Really nice thinking there scopley if Star Trek’s mining was that bad no one would be able to advance lol way to go on really making the refinery process prehistoric for and advanced scientific culture. lol lol lol

Curious, this says unlock by upgrading either syndicate or fc command center. Yet only place I see that gives is at syndicate lvl 40 and a few others in syndicate. My feedback, the game feeds addiction. I became free to play about 5-6 months ago and it's much more enjoyable imo. Once you get over the fomo, and the need to get the max of everything first, and complete every event without fail, and not scoring top of slbs and relax into it, I feel so much better. If the game annoys you or pressures you into spending, stop spending and slow down a bit. Thats my feedback 😊

When the ds9 arc launched my server and a few others had scoring lag for weeks to the point where people were unable to finish events unless they completed them hours in advance to allow for this. We never got a single bit of compensation. I wouldn’t hold your breath

There was a time when the ONLY way to get any of those 4 officers was by paying cash... Not having them will not slow you down on a competitive basis. You do not have to have them to win a pvp battle, or even to win pve battles. Other than making it just a little bit faster to level up ships you dont need them.

Have you sent a ticket to support? Are they still investigating the issue? Try sending one again with the words "SHIP STUCK" on the very first line... They have a fast response with those and though you may not get rewards from the wave quickly (or at all) you may be able to free yourself from the wave you are in.

Right, yes, if you uninstall and reinstall, it takes off the flags that tell the game client what is new and what isn't

some things are stored client side, some server side - if you switch to a different device quite often it all gets marked as new
