has anyone tried the 0patch for windows 10?

frank stratus
#

this has been happening for months now and i cant seem to fix it. any time i play a game for example val or fortnite my audio everywhere else lessens, the call im in gets lower, and when i click the windows button off off the game into a different application the audio increases again but so does the game audio. And then when i enter the game again the audio lowers on both applications. I've went into sounds and sound settings but it doesn't help. I finally wanted to ask after trying to fix it myself

#

Discord?

#

some call apps have a "lower audio on activity" setting

arctic verge
#

make sure this is set to nothing just in case

#

im not sure if whatever game you're playing is causing this or what

#

oh yeah

#

another cause may be bluetooth headphones

#

make sure you disable the "hands free audio" in the recording tab

frank stratus
frank stratus
#

yee i had arleady done this

frank stratus
arctic verge
#

then not in that case

#

hmm

#

maybe try disablin like windows sonic or dolby atmos for headphones? it has to be some software related thing causing this

Does anyone know where to get a windows 11 key? Not for free like pirating, but where i don't have to pay $100+ for it

some sites may have OEM keys for more like $30 but tbh it's hard to tell if it's really an OEM key or just greymarket

iOS is being merged with this chat, due to inactivity.

So if you’d like to talk about windows, or if you’re an iOS fan, you’re in the right place!

Ok I guess last time we were talking about mac it wasn't in Mac/iOS chat anyways

Technically Mac and iOS are unix so they should be grouped with linux/android chat 🤓☝️

Any idea on what i can do?
okay so yesterday i tried to login to our family xbox account, which uses my moms Microsoft / email. It wasn't letting me login so i thought something was up and tried on my phone to login directly via the xbox app, and when i went to do so it said "2fa email sent to (some random ass email ive never seen) and me and my mom are now fully locked out. We tried to do the Microsoft account recovery tool but both times were told "Not enough evidence" which is bullshit because i filled out every box there, and keep in mind my mom has had this account for over 10 years, so theres ALOT of data for the xbox account, and all our cards are linked to it aswell.

Hibernation on my Surface Pro 7 does not work correctly. When I manually or automatically trigger hibernate, the system appears to power off instantly. On resume, it performs a cold boot and all previously open applications are not open.
powercfg /sleepstudy and event viewer report unexpected shutdowns during hibernate
sp7 uses s0 sleep and doesn't support s3 but I guess hibernation doesn't care.
I tried enabling hibernation (powercfg /h on), rebuilding hibernation file (powercfg /h offon) setting hibernation type to full (powercfg /h /type full), no fast startup, sfc /scannow, tested forced hibernate (shutdown /h /f)... tried reinstalling surface driver pack...
what do I try now?

viral eagle
#

Probably try reinstalling windows tbh. In my experience when windows really breaks it's very hard to fix, sometimes impossible (without reinstall)

idle dragon
#

it's a fresh install and it didn't work from the beginning, or at least after I installed the right surface driver pack

#

I noticed event viewer reports network card error before each hibernation attempt, but even unisnalling both wifi and bt card and drivers from device manager doesn't fix anything

viral eagle
#

Oooof, if it's a fresh install then yeah it's gotta be a driver or firmware quirk.

#

Laptops can be fussy sometimes

idle dragon
#

I did run Chris Titus debloat tool but I specifically avoided the modern standby fix and similar tweaks which I knew could cause problems

#

guess I'll reinstall again tomorrow, only use ms driver pack for the drivers and possibly use a restore point to see if ctt causes any issues

I'm reinstalling it forwardfacingpepe

You typically need at least ~20% of the drive free for the os to perform optimally. Some free space can be reserved by the system for caching, paging files and such. You are going to need to clear more data

Hello! I unfortunately cannot operate on this right now, but I wanted to ask about this for when I eventually get home.

Sequence of events:

  1. Backed up my PC on an external drive and factory reset my PC.
  2. Opted out and closed out of OneDrive.
  3. Redownloaded everything important when it comes to apps, games, and other programs.
  4. Noticed I had a OneDrive folder still in File Explorer.
  5. Deleted the OneDrive folder which apparently contained the default location for Desktop, Documents, and Pictures.
  6. Tried to create new folders, restart File Explorer, change default location Users, and edit registry to %USERPROFILE% to no avail.
  7. Spoke with Microsoft who recommended basically everything I already tried.

Questions:

  1. Is there anything I can do without having to factory reset my PC again to get it right?
  2. If I were to factory reset once more, what steps should I follow to prevent this situation from happening again? Can I make it so OneDrive doesn’t even touch my PC? Can I change the default location to the correct one before anything gets placed in the OneDrive variant of the main folder?

Thanks in advance. I can’t stand OneDrive.

last gorge
#

Whenever I would install windows I always bypass the microsoft login. I think if you just do the install with a local only account it skips all that bs of linking your home folders to onedrive. then once you get into the desktop you can immediately uninstall onedrive via the apps settings menu

sly heath
#

That's actually in part what I was intending to do when factory resetting

last gorge
sly heath
#

Predatory garbage man

#

So just that command at the country selection screen after the initial settings and key are entered I guess. Either way, idk if that will prevent OneDrive from existing let alone stopping the default folder location going into OneDrive

last gorge
#

onedrive will likely still be there but not setup straight out of the box. It's been a while since I installed windows so I can't say for sure since some of the changes

sly heath
#

I just fear that, no matter whether you're signed in, that will be the location of a handful of those folders

last gorge
#

I brought it up because I'm fairly certain that it doesn't do that to the home folders in that case so it might be worth a try

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

sly heath
#

I'll report back in a few hours. Thanks for your help 🫡

Here's hoping...

sly heath

Update: start ms-cxh:localonly worked. Created local account, uninstalled OneDrive and a bunch of other apps, folders seem to all be listed in the correct spot. Restarting and will shortly add my Microsoft account to the computer

sly heath
#

I think I'm about done. I now have a secondary Administrator account on the computer I cannot get rid of.

last gorge
#

did you add the ms account as a second account or just sign into ms with the local?

sly heath
#

Signed in with the local. Guess I should've added it as a secondary 🤪

#

So I basically did everything correct besides that, and adding the Microsoft account as a secondary will enable me to delete the local and leave myself with just the Microsoft?

Hey do you guys help with troubleshooting here? Having an odd issue.

PC had messed up graphics drivers and WiFi drivers when I booted it up the other day, fixed the graphics using a restore point. Now the WiFi is still not working, started as saying it couldn’t find any networks to connect to, did a lot of troubleshooting steps I saw online and, now it sees networks, without any connectivity, know this is software and not hardware cause I booted into a Linux live Cd and this issue isn’t present, Event viewer has no related errors beside “The Network List Manager reports no connectivity to the internet.”

but quite a while after it came out

like Vista wasn't good until 7 was already out

and they just made it more like 7

#

under the hood

jaunty acorn
#

Vista there was too many bugs that is why it was known as the testing OS for 7

#

Pretty the same with 8/8.1 was like the testing OS for 10

silent shuttle
#

actually 8/8.1 are different entirely

#

for 10 they went back to 7 and restarted

#

8/8.1 had cut out a lot of stuff that people liked in windows so they had to go back to 7 for most of the tech and then bring stuff from 8 back in

jaunty acorn
#

When you open the setting tab on the bottom right and select tablet mode that is windows 8 right there

i actually have my desktop not even show the icons

jaunty acorn

yeah i get you

i didn't know 10 still had gadgets

jaunty acorn
#

like if my system was idle and i saw my memory spiking towards like 70% i could check

silent shuttle
#

i think i just am running off an HD

#

and that's causing slowness

#

i am used to SSD but my SSD died after many years of service

jaunty acorn
#

Go for a 240gb SSD from Team Group

silent shuttle
#

i'm getting a super cheap 2TB SSD

#

NVMe

#

it's Inland which ask two people and they'll say it's terrible or it's great

jaunty acorn
#

Id honestly use a 240gb 2.5" for the OS still

silent shuttle
#

i will take that into consideration, however it is likely I will just have the 2TB as my main drive

#

i could see what team group is offering at NVMe 2TB

#

after all i'm buying their RAM

jaunty acorn
#

I think they only have upto a 1tb

#

If i go for a M.2 i would actually buy a Sata version since NVMe i wouldn't get any real benefits

silent shuttle
#

not me, since the SATA drives aren't any cheaper i'm not going to purposely use one

#

i'm excited to get my SSD

#

february that and the 32GB RAM

jaunty acorn
silent shuttle
#

that's totally not 2TB

#

good price though

jaunty acorn
#

Well i am talking about for me

silent shuttle
#

oh okay

#

sorry

#

it's hard to tell on the internet what exactly someone is getting at

jaunty acorn
#

i would use the Sata M.2 for my OS and the 240gb i have now i would use for other games

#

One thing a lot of Tech Tubers i have been watching has always said that a NVMe is only worth having if you are doing more than just gaming

#

things like video editing

silent shuttle
#

but i'm saying it's the same price, so what do i have to lose?

jaunty acorn
#

Well i don't know which one's you're looking at to be honest

silent shuttle
#

i'm looking at $215 USD for 2TB

#

pretty solid pricing

#

look at me spending $125 on a CPU and almost twice that on an SSD, you can see my priorities

#

and $120 on the motherboard because why not

soft fractal
#

I remember there being a discussion about the Windows 10 update for 1903 and 1909 could someone tell me about what's going on because I can't remember if it was a bad idea to update Windows 10 or not.

dry raft
#

1903 certainly still had some issues. Idk about 1909

fleet goblet
#

The 860 QVO has QLC memory, that's the worst possible choice

dry raft
#

because memory type is the only thing that matters /s

fleet goblet
#

So worth to loose 50% of lifetime and almost the same in performance

vivid temple
#

@fleet goblet for the normal consumer? it does not matter one bit

fleet goblet
#

@vivid temple The lifetime doesn't matter ?

vivid temple
#

the time it lasts is plenty for the normal consumer.

#

yes, it does not last as long as a TLC based drive.

#

and we can keep going on and on about it. Or we can use the drives that perform decently for a decent price.

#

point being: There are other things that consumers should worry about imo :)

fleet goblet
#

So why should a normal consumer choose a drive that is less than 5% cheaper, less reliable and less performant ?

vivid temple
#

because they (perhaps) value the cost higher than the other two

#

and it can easily be debated that the two dont matter to anyone but the people that think that benchmark scores trump everything.

fleet goblet
#

I'm comparing here the BX500 and the QVO, for 5$ less in 180 that's a nonsense to choose the QVO

#

Even without talking about the performance, the lifetime is really bigger with the BX500

dry raft
#

Have you considered amount of chiplets, quality of chiplets, memory controller, and so forth?

#

BX500 isn't better than the 860 QVO on perf

#

MX500 is

vivid temple
#

agreed (mx500)

dry raft
#

Don't get confused between the two

vivid temple
#

and again, the reliability is plenty for the normal consumer.

dry raft
#

Anyways, lifetime isn't a concern as it is still more than long enough for any standard consumer

vivid temple
#

however, if you ( @fleet goblet ) want to talk about your personal preference. Sure, we can do that. You might be a person that needs (or think) they need a TLC (or better) drive

fleet goblet
#

@dry raft If we're talking about pure benchmarks, even if it doesn't matter in real life, the BX500 is way better than the 869QVO

vivid temple
#

benchmarks does not matter to the extent you seem to think it does.

fleet goblet
#

@vivid temple I totally agree with you. But even if we're talking about real life, the BX500 is still faster.
But I'm just talking about reliability, again. It is a SSD, as a HDD you keep it for a long time

dry raft
#

Also note, BX500 has worse cache

vivid temple
#

the reliability is fine, again, for the normal consumer.

#

IF you sleep better by not buying a QLC based drive. By all means, do that.

#

people overestimate GREATLY how much data they actually move around

#

and IF you are a person that actually understand how much/little data you move around. Buy accordingly :)

smoky pagoda

vivid temple

#

and yes sorry for the storage talk in the OS channel @smoky pagoda

smoky pagoda

oh nah it's cool llol

summer bough
#

this picture is my comparison. from left to right 1tb 860qvo vs 500gb evo vs $30 256gb gigabyte ssd

#

I was going to use my WD ssd, but I dont know where it is 200Sad

silent shuttle
#

However, we see there is a dip in write performance that spans the 128KB-512KB file sizes. This is due to the DRAM-less architecture, which causes the BX500 to “get into a condition or state where background garbage collection briefly has to take precedence over I/Os” during the test.

#

that's interesting

#

DRAMless QLC drive

sick cobalt
silent shuttle
#

these benchmarks make you wonder if it matters what SSD you get at all

#

as far as SATA goes

sick cobalt
#

sata's basically maxed out at least in terms of transfer etc

#

they can always improve the access time with a new design but beyond that we need u2 to become more standard

silent shuttle
#

u2?

sick cobalt
#
U.2

U.2, formerly known as SFF-8639, is a computer interface standard for connecting SSDs to a computer. It covers the physical connector, electrical characteristics, and communication protocols. It uses up to four PCI Express lanes and two SATA lanes.
It was developed for the e...

#

basically the same speeds as nvme but in a 2.5" form factor

#

99.9% enterprise drives only however, which is why it's not really included on consumer boards most of the time

silent shuttle
#

huh

#

that's neat

sick cobalt
#

it's the logical step after sata

silent shuttle
#

yeah and the power can come from the board because board power is enough to power 2-4 SSDs

dry raft
#

@silent shuttle Well it can matter. Here is a cherry picked example from the review above. 50GB of random files

#

It is the most drastic example and all other benchmarks werent as bad. This was the only one where the DRAMless part really kicked in

silent shuttle
#

BX500 and WD Blue look awful

#

QVO doesn't look good eithjer

#

only the 660p (lol) and the optane look particularly good

dry raft
#

Random perf tho, it's a bunch of random files

#

I didnt dig too deep but quote above pic
"We use the DiskBench storage benchmarking tool to test file transfer performance with our own custom 50GB block of data. Our data set includes 31,227 files of various types, like pictures, PDFs, and videos. "

silent shuttle
#

well isn't the random stuff 90% of what you're gonna do with an SSD?

dry raft
#

yeah, but I feel like the >100mb/s mark seems decently acceptable given the stuff it's doing

#

Tho, not like I heavily look into SSDs and their average random perf

silent shuttle
#

probably

#

but you obviously want the best performance for price

#

i mean the MX500 is a really good SSD if you factor in price

dry raft
#

but again, this was a very cherry picked example. All other results for the BX showed itself to be decent

silent shuttle
#

i won't buy one still, i have an aversion to DRAMless QLC SSDs

dry raft
#

I wouldnt buy one either cuz price is too similar to others

silent shuttle
#

i'm poor but i'm not too poor to pay attention, if you get my meaning

#

like i failed on that board recommendation, live and learn

#

and i almost bought an intel 660p, but live and learn

#

Linus did a review of that 660p

#

and it was basically "it's going to work great unless you fill it up and then it's going to come to a screeching halt"

dry raft
#

660p isnt horrible. Tho unfortunately for Intel there are brands that have a better cache setup for like $5 more or so

silent shuttle
#

and there are brands that don't use QLC at all

i want to make a new partition

cinder mauve

When you boot from your windows installer usb - do you select the UEFI option? And do you ensure csm mode is disabled?

last marsh
#

I did select the UEFI option

cinder mauve
#

If both yes - then do you want to wipe the drive clean for a new install? -if so, delete all 4 volumes there and click next

last marsh

I'm not sure what CSM is

Ik it has to do with BIOS

cinder mauve
#

If you can see the UEFI boot option, you're probably fine - and the fact it won't let you install without wiping the previous EFI partitions, also sounds like you're booting in EFI mode - all is good.

#

So to clarify, delete all, then simply click next.

theres drive 0 - unallocated space rn

unless you are paying for AV most of them are pretty pathetic. AVG and AVAST will annoy you with popups and ads. Bitdefender free will automatically delete anything it thinks could be a virus and has no way to configure it and no support. if i attempt to make a partition from the bootable drive, will that mess stuff up? for example i have a 500 gb ssd that i want to split into 2 250 gb partitions

strong surge
#

If that's the boot drive yes, I wouldn't touch that one

peak moss
#

darn alright

strong surge
#

I mean, that's not to say you can't but I'm not the one to ask about that

#

From what I know it's not recommended

hushed cradle
#

I think it's doable

#

As long as the software is smart enough

#

Which it should be these days

#

It'll just partition empty space

#

If the entire drive is full and u want to partition, that's a little bit too hopeful :p

vivid temple
#

@hushed cradle it is doable, just not recommended. Macrium reflect is probably the simplest for you to use for it.

#

@peak moss the above bit was for you :)

Does anyone know how on windows to choose which GPU is used by a game?

#

I have an rx 580 and a gtx 1050 (for nvenc) and my game keeps using my gtx 1050

smoky pagoda
#

would imagine it'd be in the Nvidia Control Panel settings somewhere

#

is the monitor plugged into the 580?

upbeat dawn
#

Well I can’t use the NVIDIA control panel

#

Yes it is

#

Both of them are

smoky pagoda
#

why can't you use control panel?

upbeat dawn
#

I don’t have a display plugged into my 1050

smoky pagoda
#

well you are using both radeon, and nvidia

#

that just seems problematic for me

upbeat dawn
#

In every game i play except windows store games I don’t have problems, every game uses my rx 580 and OBS uses my gtx 1050

upbeat dawn
#

I figured it out, I just have to disable the 1050 in device manager, launch forza, enable the 1050 and it all works out 😋

vivid temple
#

that sounds like a fault of the game instead of a fault of the OS @upbeat dawn

fleet basalt
#

Besides my OS, what should i install on my boot drive?

strong surge
#

A game or two for quick access if it's an SSD

fleet basalt
#

What about drivers and stuff?

strong surge
#

Well, those get installed to the OS so....ya

vivid temple
#

personal preference is to only keep stuff on the OS drive that i dont mind losing

cinder mauve
#

So anyone ever dealt with windows telling you that it can’t retrieve info about the disks before?

rare rune
#

Format it if its new.

cinder mauve
#

They have been formatted, it’s either saying that or it’s saying I’m missing a media driver

#

It won’t let me even get to that point right now

#

To format them again

smoky pagoda
#

what are you using to format them

cinder mauve
#

What is the diffrence between computer science and software engineering

#

Because programming is writing code

#

So if I wanted to pursue a career which is basically coding what should I go for

devout delta
#

Comp sci usually focuses on the software side (i.e. programming) where Comp engineering will have some software and some hardware (i.e. analog & digital circuits)

sharp holly
#

Isn't computer science the theory behind how computers work? (Logic and circuits)

#

Software engineers are in high demand rn

#

But iirc, companies aren't as interested in how fancy your degree is, but what you have in your portfolio (side projects, your own website, some database program you made, etc)

silent shuttle
#

i made a database program in GW-BASIC on an old DOS machine in childhood - I wasn't familiar with databases and how they worked, but i just accidentally made it

cinder mauve
hoary nacelle

looks like you gotta reset the CMOS

cinder mauve

I got fixed the pc rebooted it self

#

does anyone know if the cyberpower mouse that comes with the pc have a software?

#

to customize the mouse and such

rare rune
#

With what PC?

empty zenith
#

why don't i have a bootup screen?

hard wedge
#

could be a couple reasons. 1 your pc cant/wont post. 2 your gpu isnt working properly wether it isnt seated in the slot all the way, pcie power isnt connected or its dead. 3... last but not least... you forgot to plug it into the wall lol

peak moss
#

We need much more info to troubleshoot that. Is your pc turning on or no? Is it showing the bios splash screen? Is the pc fresh build or was it working before? What is in it? What did you change? Etc etc

sudden dirge
#

Can someone help me with MSIs retarded mystic light/dragon center? I cant get my fans and pc case to sync colors with the mobo rgb, but I can sync the fans and mobo rgb effects but not the case.

sudden dirge
#

@silent shuttle Are you able to help possibly?

silent shuttle
#

I don't know anything about RGB stuff, unfortunately

#

i've never been able to play with anything like that

#

@sudden dirge

sudden dirge
#

@silent shuttle No worries. You would think instead of the proprietary junk software they use they'd create something more consumer friendly.

silent shuttle
#

certainly

#

but who knows

#

it's nice to sync if you have RGB, then you can sync some 00ntz 00ntz club music to it

rocky cedar
#

Well the thing is, some RGB hardware likes to use their own rgb software, and reject MSI RGB software

Anyone here familiar with Azure pipelines? Specifically looking at CD with a private GitHub repository.

cinder mauve
#

does anyone ever reinstall windows

#

and do you use media creation tool

strong surge
#

Yes, windows 10 media creation tool. Download it and install it to a USB. Free installation media from MS

cinder mauve
#

what version do you use

strong surge
#

Well, the media creation tool downloads the latest version for you

#

Or you mean 64 or 32 bit?

cinder mauve
#

what windows build are you on

#

im on 1909

#

when a new build comes out i always do a fresh install

#

thats why i create disc

strong surge
#
  1. It's the latest build............
cinder mauve
#

i know

#

i was on 1903 and when i found out 1909 came out i did a fresh install of 1909

tepid silo
#

Plenty of web utilities or software tools out there to just download the ISO of coice , legally, from microsoft. Easy to verify the MD5 hash.

cinder mauve
#

does the media creation tool let you install a fresh windows

#

when it burns to a flash drive

rare rune
#

Yes. Thats the point of it

#

Microsoft give it to you specifically to make installing windows very easy.

#

Just download the creation tool, run it, itll turn a USB stick into an installer, then boot onto that usb stick on the desired PC

tall lichen
#

so i just recently built this new pc and everything works great EXCEPT it can't wake up from sleep mode

#

windows 10 pro

#

trying to wake it from sleep just causes it to reboot most of the time

#

anyone know what's causing the issue?

tepid silo
#

Could be a bios setting related to suspend/.sleep ppower states, I would also disable fast startup in windows.
TBH - it's often most convenient and rarely costly at all to just run a machine 24/7

#

Could always pull ethernet or shutdown for security piece of mind ofc.

vast haven
#

Hey y'all, I tried to dl a newer version of my realtek audio driver, but when I used the wizard to help me uninstall my current version, it put me in a loop where it keeps "uninstalling" the current version and rebooting only to do the same thing. Now im not getting sound whatsoever and don't know how to restore my old version. Any help would be greatly appeciated!

sharp holly
#

The wizard doesn't allow you to just install directly/update the existing driver?

vast haven
#

apparently not, it uninstalled my previous version, rebooted, and puts me back at "uninstalling"

#

im trying to figure out how to recover my old version rn

summer bough
#

I have something that will fix it, but it could break windows if something goes wrong

#

that will fix your audio issues

#

after its doen and reboots dont touch your system for about 10 minutes after reboot while it finishes

opal kernel
#

so is there anyone i can ask for help when it comes to video scheduler internal error BSOD

#

my pc was fine untill i upgraded from intel to ryzen

peak moss
#

did you do a fresh instal

opal kernel
#

by fresh install you mean???

#

from scratch or you talkin about drivers

#

heres a better question

peak moss
#

from scratch

opal kernel
#

is it possible for intel software to interfere with ryzen

#

and no its not from scratch

#

it was a pre existing build

peak moss
#

basically when you get a new mobo or cpu or in this case, both, you're supposed to reinstall windows. when you switch from intel to amd, from what i understand doubly so. i went from amd to amd and was able to get around it but with going from intel to amd you should probably just reinstall windows. also make sure theres no pending bios updates on your build

#

if you want to try to avoid fresh install, update your bios which should replace your drivers, but im not 100% that will work.

opal kernel
#

i have done that and all bios updates are to the latest versions

peak moss
#

then you probably need a fresh install

opal kernel
#

of windows

peak moss
#

yes

opal kernel
#

i have tried

peak moss
#

you have already done that?

opal kernel
#

not the first time i tried either

peak moss
#

what gpu are you using

opal kernel
#

want to know my entire spec list to make it easier

peak moss
#

yeh

opal kernel
#

k gimme a min

#

current spec's
GPU: RTX 2060 super OC from MSI
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700
Motherboard: B450M PRO-M2
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
HDD: 2x 2TB
SSD: Kingston 240GB
PSU: Corsair 450W 80+ Bronze

#

damn why did i torture myself there

#

i could have just snipped speccy >,<

#

oh well

peak moss
#

uh gimme a second

strong surge
#

Uh

opal kernel
#

should also mention that when launching games 1 of 3 things happen
1: game launches in a black screen audio and controls still audible and interactable
2: the game straight up crashes whilst the gpu is throttled instantly to 100% disconnecting it (from what event viewer tells me anyway)
3: BSOD

strong surge
#

450 watt Psu too smsll

peak moss
#

yeah thats what i was looking up right now

strong surge
#

Need 550w minimim

peak moss
#

that psu seems way to msall lol

opal kernel
#

i used a system calculator for the psu, and it stated recommended minimum is 450W

#

then again

peak moss
#

the error code reads as a problem with your gpu but its more likely your psu

strong surge
#

Yeah.....don't trust those lol

opal kernel
#

that was for a regular 2060

#

no super option

#

XD

strong surge
#

Pau draws little power on desktop

#

Fire up a game and poof overloaded

peak moss
#

also you're supposed to draw no more than like 80% of your psu right bekora?

strong surge
#

Best practice 90%

opal kernel
#

on the off hand i do go to the shadow realm of BSOD i will post what the gpu does

strong surge
#

Just upgrade the PSU

#

Gpubis shutting off from lack of power

opal kernel
#

would that also fix the video scheduler internal error

#

to think of it

strong surge
#

Yes

opal kernel
#

all the critical errors on event viewer are from error 41 kurnal power

strong surge
#

Whole Pau shutting off then

opal kernel
#

at first i thought my gpu was dying so i went and bought a 2060 >,<

peak moss
#

what did you have before

opal kernel
#

damn im stupid

#

a 1060

peak moss
#

i mean you could rma it if you want

#

but then you wouldnt have a 2060 anymore lol

opal kernel
#

cant

#

the 1060 is voided

peak moss
#

i mean the 2060

opal kernel
#

i would rather keep the 2060

#

i do alot of vr stuff

peak moss
#

but thats also proving the issue isnt the gpu and that psu is extremely small for your system

opal kernel
#

need the power

#

??

#

what do you mean gpu too small

peak moss
#

the psu is to small

#

issue is not gpu, psu is to small

opal kernel
#

oh sorry just read it wrong

#

so what would be the best psu with decent performance for low to medium price

#

i saw someone mention a 550W

#

for minimum

#

so the only logical option would be a 600W right???

#

that leaves some room
