They're just the brackets you have to take off to install the GPU anyway. Personally, benefits outweigh the risk since the potential damage of sag is well documented.
MSI had the great idea of reinforcing the PCIe slot for the GPU so no sag worries for me.

bleh, the EVGA Z15 has a bug where windows won't recognize it 75% of the time when the pc gets turned off and back on.

So I have to unplug and plug it back in and I've gotten tired of it, especially when I start to do things that require constantly going into the bios
