why would you put 8 fans in this pc, waste of money
I always discover something new on this server
Ty so much!
I consider the cooler too
That has 2 fans
Do you want to send me the list in https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list i can recommend any changes?
The build it's fine and I don't have lot of money for the upgrade so...
Everything's good
Wait hold on, you want to put your 1070 in this yeah? What parts will you be reusing?
I'll reuse only my SSD and 1070
I'll never sell my 1070... I got it for 200€
Good price
And obviously I don't want an upgrade to a M.2 SSD
@tame cape what case do you have/want to upgrade to and what psu do you have atm? Psus and cases are great to bring forward in a build
I just realized, you sent me the wrong link i was v confused, you need to send the link in the yellow box
Send this link
Case
Now I have a Mars gaming MCX
PSU Mars gaming MPB650w
Oh sorry
Wait
https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/n9VkF8
Here it is
But 300w looks strange
150w GPU
90w CPU
70w MB
and other components ~50w
Mmmh...no wait..the wattage might be right
Best one? For price, reliability and a SILENT PSU
Because I read that cooler master have lot of coil whine and fan noises
@tame cape what's your budget and what have you purchased already?
I purchased nothing but some people already asked me for my old components, so when I sell them I'll buy the new ones
PSU budget or build budget?
By selling old components I'm gonna spend a total of 165€ for the new build
Upgrade budget and can you send what components you have atm in a list, except the psu cuz ik you wanna change that
Btw I have some components that are not necessary
Exampl: white sleeve cables and 2 additional fans
Okke
Gimme a minut
Yeye thats fine just the main stuff
Use it.pcpartpicker.com, its for italy instead of the american one
The .it wabsite doesn't work...😐
Yes it does lol
@tame cape what case you got them
And what's your total budget for upgrade, after you sell old parts
Mars gaming MCX
165 to upgrade? That's nothing
You won't be able to even upgrade cpu tho
Because I'm selling old components on a website as the same price as new... People still want to buy
I doubt you'll be able to get new prices for used products, they gonna pay bit lesss
You said you've got 165€ after selling your old stuff to upgrade
There are many people that want to buy my 2600x for 170€
Noo
I wanted to say that the upgrade will cost me only 165€ by selling my old compinents
The total upgrade is around 600€
600-430(used components)= ~165€
Not what i asked lol
I'll sell al my old component for ~430
Or you mean how much money I'll have after the upgrade??
If yes
0€
No, how much can you spend
Max. 165€
But if I sell all my old components I'll have ~600€
To spend for the new ones
This was the number i needed lol
Sorry...😂
@tame cape you want rgb?
Okay
@tame cape https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/G9jdsX I'd do this
Actually this has ram rgb
what makes a case have good airflow?
is it the amount of fans or?
im confused.
im looking at that case because its cheap, it can have 1 120mm fan in the back 3 120mm fans in front and 2 140mm fans on top
Mesh

it is hot tho?
damn, do you know a cheaper case thats good airflow?
or is there a way to filter out on pcpp for mesh or something?
hey this case looks good
lol
Unfortunately not
Overpriced and meh, surprisingly not horrible but not good either
what is a good way to tell if it has good airflow, look in reviews?
.
Reviews by actual reviewers, and mesh.
Like GN/TPU/Tom's hardware
Anyone know if the full sized lian li dynamic vertical gpu mount will fit the mini?
There are companies that sell universal vertical mount brackets, all it requires is a PCIe slots without metal bars in between them
Requires the normal ATX 7 slots
ya
Get that instead
$120 case for a budget flip?
for a budget flip go P400A
I just had that ine sent to me
Some people barely spend $120 on their case for higher end main machines
if you wanna spend that much go p500a
thats the build and parts I have so far are marked
this hurts
the parts that I have were not purchased they were given to me
how much money u got for parts?
i doubt that x570 even works with 1600
Im looking to stay around $300 so I can can still profit off a sell
can you up it?
or buy 2nd hand
how much and what am I looking at for possible return?
well you can get a 3600 or something off ebay or facebook marketplace
u live in the us?
because 1600 sucks
its got the single core perf of a 3rd gen intel cpu
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
yes
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
This looks good
get that
I mean you can get it if you want its just gonna be overkill with that rx570 imo
Is there a rgb cooler you recommend? going red and black. Also will it sell with only 500gb?
yeah 500gb ssd is fine
ok
yo what's the difference between the coolermaster nr200 and the nr200p
yeah
nr200p has a glass/ acrylic window on the side
nr200 has grill
tips on testing a cx750 PSU
testing it...?
Are thermaltake PSU good?
I need a good PSU under 55€
80+ bronze
Not coolermaster
CX, Bitfenix Whisper M/formula gold to start off, should be close to 60euros for 550w
can anyone help me find what fans are preinstalled in this?
i look on pcpp and it says montech dont have any fans
i also looked on regualr google and no montech fans came up, only the case
Then you cant get the fans without buying the case? Why would you want 200mm fans anyway
they come with the case, but i want to find matching fans, so im not using montech and cooler master fans
Well i just wouldn't get that case, also if you were getting a system in that price bracket of the case just use included case fans and rest of slots empty lol
dang
Frankly that's a dumb number to be spending on a case unless you're going pretty premium, and even then I'd cap at like ~150, you can get good budget cases for 60$ like mx330 air and metallicgear neo air, and when you can get the p400a digital for 90$ , cmon
Usually i like building premium. Its just my preference and obviously the build quality and attention to detail will be better
P400a is premium tho lol
^
Premium cases doesn't have go be so absurd in price
Like even corsair 5000d airflow isn't like 200
After a while cases will become expensive to the point the companies don't care about airflow from what I've seen
to be fair though for certain things like that with corsair specifically, they are undergoing a rebrand of the sort and are catering to many things that not everyone is going to buy, they couldve made the 4000d and called it a day
well, it has some use case for some people but thats also why its really expensive because its not going to appeal to the masses like the 4000d
ye
also not entirely true since we can take corsair as an example, they flipped the script on everyone
not a single person in this server recommended a corsair case and now a lot of people recommend the 4000d like hot cakes
I also like 4000d
It looks nice, not too expensive and airflow is gud
Well provided it's the airflow
the glass front is fine too depending on what youre throwing into your system
At one point I was recommending 220t airflow to ca people, but I kinda dislike 4000d airflow :p
it was nice knowing you mr1111, but its time for you to be banned
220t i was recommending at one point to as an alternative instead of the meshify c since at the time the meshify c was like $30~$40 more expensive
I was reccomending it because 220t airflow at like 80cad is better than h510 at same price :p
the 220t was better than the meshify c at one point in terms of value here in the US
Perhaps
Cheap power supplies are risky to buy, but some of the budget PSUs are worth it for gaming PC builds that need to save money for other components. Here's one of the good ones.

ooh
actually good cheap 650w
Tbf there's some mwe v2 bronzes in that range
Hi guys
Corsair SF support lian li o11 dynamic mini?
is there different between sf and sfx or same just cut?
Yes, sf and sfx are the same thing, I'd usually recommend a different power supply for itx, corsair sf is usually more expensive than the other options and same/not as good quality
I’m already ordered worng size i took Corsair rm 850w
Oops
I think I can’t but it in dynamic mini case
O11d mini is itx psu
What specs you putting in your build?
hmm
Ryzen 7 3700
Gigabyte 3060 ti
Okay
I already ordered 600w it that enough?
Not really
Adapter bracket only from sfx to atx right not the opposite?
Think they were mistaken yeah
this isnt new
o11 mini -> Need SFX/SFX-L
and yes, you can't use a bracket to make a big psu small
Ahh mini
Ye
idk but it's gn, they're late
I am looking to Build a new PC around an AMD 5600X and a 3070 Ti FE. Are older cases still reasonable for cooling? TO save money I considered putting my build in a decade old Corsair 600T White Edition case.
3600 is awful value rn and the 3070ti is as well
I would go either 5600x or an 11400(at under 200$) and a 3070/80
very nice white case
you dont even need to buy extra fans with it
@weary vine Sorry I went and did an edit. I meant the 5600X. I had the 3600 on my brain from looking at deals recently.
I picked up the 3700 Ti FE for MSRP at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. With the scarcity of parts I figured that was a decent get even if it isn't as good of value proposition as the non Ti parts
Ah thats cool no problem
Def worth it then. 3070 ti vram gets toasty
Nice! 3070ti is still very capable and a great gpu.
But msrp in today's market is great
If you want you can send over all the parts you have in mind over as a pcpartspicker list and i can make suggestions
I was gonna save the money on a case for now if the old one is still capable enough. It has a top 200 MM fan, front 200 mm fan and one rear 120 mm Fan.
Do you need 32gb ram
I am still looking for a Motherboard, PSU and CPU cooler. I have a 750 Watt PSU that I didnt use much.. https://www.newegg.com/pc-power-and-cooling-silencer-750-eps12v-750w/p/N82E16817703006
I wouldnt trust that psu at all
Whats ur budget for the entire pc?
@weary vine I don' t need it but I thought it would be better to have more. I also wondered if I should get the 5800X. That way when more games are targeted at the consoles it would match for cores.
5600x is fine for a 3070 ti
Just give me a number as to how much you wanna spend total on the pc
Ill make u a partslist
I'd like to stay under $2000. I had both SSDs because I didn't know which to pick. It will mostly be used for gaming but I have done some ripping of media in the past.
Ok gimme 30 mins or so since i gtg have dinner ill send you a parts list asap
And thats 2000 including the 3070ti yes?
3070 ti fe is
Other than the vram
Ignoring shortage id go 3070 fe any day first, but cant really ignore that can we lmao
@weary vine yes I want to include the 3070 Ti in that build. I just picked the card and put in the price I paid for it.
Why 3700x
He meamt 3070ti
Id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sdFJYg
Doesn't matter, 600$ 3070
Read the message after that pato
Yeah i saw after i sent
Wydm lol
windows 10 price
I just left that lol, if they wanna spend that much on windows they can cba to change it
it is
cba means can't be assed
@fierce pivot @weary vine Windows 10 was a placeholder/worst case scenario.
It means can't be arsed
Yeah, you can always leave inactivated if you don't care about the water mark
Or copy the code from an old pc/laptop you have
hi
Should I move to another chat if I have general build questions?
any chat works but #building-and-recc-chat is nice for general questions
doesn't matter that much which chat you ask in general unless you have something specific about a specific part, then you might want to use a specific chat
Does anyone know the ETA on the cooler master NR200P MAX? I cannot find any preorders or updates on when it may be available. I know there were issues getting it out due to shipping and stock but just wanting to know when so I can stop stalking the internet.
Best budget case. Red and Black build
Whats your budget limit for the case
Anything by DIYPC is pretty budget
Eh
What's definition of budget case? Because probs p360a/p400a
Why did you choose the MSI MPG over a MSI Tomahawk?
Do you mean the gaming edge wifi? The mpg agf is a power supply
yes I was referring to the PcPP you sent above.
in #cpus-mobo-and-memory , I told them b550 tomahawk or torpedo because they specified they didn't want wifi
Ahhhh, yeah fair enough i didn't know if they wanted wifi or not and it's a solid board so just kinda through it together
also, now that I look at it again, gaming edge wifi is like the same exact board as tomahawk lol
same vrms same rear io same pcie setup
same fan headers same rgb headers
same usb headers
oh except tomahawk has 2 ethernet jacks, 2 controllers, RTL8125B(2.5gbe) and RTL8111H(1gbe) versus gaming edge wifi with just RTL8125B(2.5gbe)
and ofc gaming edge wifi has ax200
Oh really lol nice
I mean, 10$ extra for an ax200 card isn't exactly the hardest to get
but also torpedo is 150$ with same vrms
Torpedo nice
Is it not?
Lowest I've seen is like ~20$
How does the Torpedo compare for the other specs? @elfin trout
same
And having it built in is cleaner than a card
also leaves more slots for other tings
Hey so this is my current pc case.
Im thinking of moving on from it. Anyone have suggestions? I'm running a 3080 and thinking of trying to get more space for eventually getting some watercooling going.

Don't want something with poopy ventilation if I don't get water cooling
The easy answer is corsair 5000d airflow. Great case overall, for both liquid and air cooling.
Thank ya! I was lookin at it too
P500a is the easier answer :p
Honestly, I want a 4000D but I do not have a use for it currently lmao
I already have a build in progress
Has poopy airflow since no airflow front panel
As opposed to the D?
It has a glass front and top panel
has decent airflow the front panel 4/5000 series so long as youre not throwing something like a 3090 in there
Screw Corsair tho
THE FUTURE IS NOW
Bad peripherals and wacky ssd
this is cases and psu chat, not peripherals or storage-devices chat
the future still remains in the present
reeeee
Corsair only has 2 decent cases
Phantek looks good also
Priced relatively average/bad
And Corsair takes credit for CWT making the good PSUs
:p
Like RM is practically a revolution d.f. but cutdown
Because same original platform, RM has crappy caps though
shush, corsair now
Aight so if I were to get the 5000d what fans should I slap In there since it comes with only 2 120mm fans or whateva
Running a ryzen 5 5600x and a 3080 in it
Dumb typos
Or I can take that to cooling

Arctic p12 fans, $31 for a 5 pack (rgb costs more)
not like it matters

aorus
b550 aorus pro so lit
aorus elite lit too
:p
I'm turning away from aorus elite because no debug led though
@balmy fable looked at #build-pics and I like your case, what is it? Sorry for ping
its a Lin Li Q58
Reason: Bad word usage
Reason: Too many infractions
Lian li q58
i have located 2400 watt psu, its inasinity
To my knowledge that is most likely fake if you're talking bout pc psus
95plus psu
Crosshair VIII Hero littest
not really
it OCs mem pretty poo poo
i would unironically have the b550 aorus pro over it
and the non dark has a chipset fan
i need some help
https://strawpoll.com/j5jj572qc
mesh front, ATX, glass side
if it didnt have the RGB fans, but it has a single 3 pin/molex intake and rear exhaust
what price would you buy it at? or recommend to a friend to buy it at?
please vote on the strawpoll
opinion poll across several discords for some research
i need more than just my opinion
im not actually buying the case
I don't touch links on servers unless it's for doujins or trusted
i want to know what the average PC builder thinks a case like that is worth to buy or recommend to someone asking for a PC build
i wouldnt be a techie if i wasnt a trustworthy person to not post scam links... its a strawpoll, one of the most popular polling websites every big youtuber uses
Can confirm, Demon is legit
wont let me vote
I don't use it and I'm a YouTuber
its IP protected so people cant vote twice
by switching IP
im assuming i need account
its not important enough for you to put that much effort into it
this doesnt say much considering you get an average of 3 views per video
Roasted
Anyone know if I need an extra 120 or 140 mm case fan for the back of a p500a?
Not roasted
i am the smart people... i dont need help picking a case for myself
"Need" is subjective, nice to have usually though
Think imma sleep
Food for thought and context for my choice, I'd think cheaper than mx330-g air because one less fan, similar price to montech x1 because it should be similar build quality (relatively bad), worse build quality than neo air. It'll probably be competing with like focus g kind of case.
ill find out cause im having one sent to me soon
but i want to know what people would be willing to pay if it was sold without the RGB fans
I'm just thinking basically a focus g that looks better
Which people buy around 50$ afaik
"every big youtuber uses" lmao
My response was 55$ btw.
But well, if it turns out the build quality is good, can probably up the price
same. Woulda been 70 if rgb fans were included
I initially got to that price by just mx330-g air price (60$ after shipping) - 5$ (probably cost of single fan)
Hmm
its $85 right now
with the fans
I wouldnt pay that much for it tbh, especially when the P400A Digital is like 5$ more
Strawpoll is a very common website lmao
P500a digital comes with enough fans, p500a non digital could use 1 or 2 more intake fans, that's about it
Too much imo, when mx330 g air/metallic gear neo air 60-70$
I said 45 but 45-50$ btw, cougar mx330 g air and metallic gear neo air are both better options imo and like rawr said at 85 that's horrible, when you can get p400a digital for 90$ or non digital for 75$ and get a p12 and have dc/pwm fans instead of icky molex
Yeah but the one demon sent looks better
I suppose but eh
Also p360a like 80$
Which looks just as good and rgb and no molex fans
Just running at 100% all the time can be icky also usually lower quality
yeah at $85 the case isnt worth it
but at $50-$60, but no RGB?
it would compete well in the budget airflow case market
basically a budget meshify C copy
no rgb and fewer fans tho
ok? P300a is $60-$70 with 1 fan
and a smaller case
montech X1 has more fans, but its static multicolor LEDs
same setup as the 4000D airflow
no RGB
2 fans
but at $50-$60
not $100
meshify C only has a single fan
for a $100 case
MX300 has a single fan
no glass
at $50
Zalman S2 is a good option
3 molex fans
no glass
yeah thats fair
MX 330G air is nice, 3 fans, blue LED only though, glass side
so it would have to compete directly with that
I would still get a p360a and now worry about extra fans
$80 case
vs a $50-$60 case
id say this case would do well at $55
sure, spend 45% more on a case
you get a better case
but it costs 45% more
lol
I mean ur gonna have to buy 2 fans with that case anyway
running a pc off the top of the mobo box is technically fine too
but I get what ur saying
its a good deal on a case
Is the rgb one the digital
Yes

Yes
Is there a way to measure how much my system is using under full load? Just want to know what my overhead looks like
OCCT
Thank you!
np
Very much plenty
Enough overhead to stick a 3080/3080 ti/6800xt/6900xt in there
Crazy to think an 850w can handle that much plus all the other stuff I mentioned. Almost entire pc is rgb minus case and psu
Website said that my setup sucks up 517w, whether thats under load or not idk.
an rgb fan takes under 5W
yea your computer doesn't pull 517w at idle
lol
i run a 5900x+6900xt off a 750 watt power supply 😎
bruh
it is
Shouldn't actually be too bad unless windshields is OCing 6900xt
No it isn't.
No.
Both under full load pushes it really close
do you have any evidence to support this statement
Hmm it appears you have about 50-60 watts of headroom. I was incorrect. As long as its a quality 750w unit and you dont overclock you should be fine
dont worry i know what im doing
I don't doubt it, just making a general statement
you better not doubt it
subtle. nice.
😎
are corsair power supplys any good
Yeah, price bad tho, I'd recommend a msi agf or corsair txm(depending on country) or enermax revolution d.f. instead
my 6900 xt does 450w comfy
probably 700+ peak
given this chart
lmao
6900 xt has such bad input filtering
transients like crazy
it's even worse than 3090
whoa
psu go pop if there's not enough power to handle those
naw
transients usually okay
it just trips ocp on crappy psus
mostly seasonic
leadex doesnt have protections tho so based psus is fine
ah
No no leadex is just so op protections don't have to trip :D
leadex is too good for protections
Leadex has to protect protections from its own power
^
is the asus gt301 a good case
not really?
meh
Just get a 4000d airflow
P500A or P400A digital better because no need for more fans
i would but it is not available in my region
there has got to be a power supply wizard in here. Can someone help me with psus and cables?
What's up?
Oof was just about to go to bed. Are you available to talk tomorrow?
Yeah sure
hey I'm available again. Just let me know if you have time to chat.
if i get a gpu that reccomends a psu with 650 watts, is getting a 650 watt psu good? or should i get a 750 for safety
What gpu and cpu
MSI AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming w/ Sea Sonic FOCUS 650 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular
what processor
oh my bad
amd 7 5800x
do i add their both reccomened watt reccomendation to find a good psu?
Hey, what can i help you with?
you add up the TDP of the components in your system. CPU/GPU taking up the biggest share of that.
650w is good to go, you can get 750w if you like but no need unless you wanna future prokd
amd 7 5800x + MSI AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming right?
Yep
cool thanks
I'm trying to safely maximize 2x 1300W PSU for a mining rig, but I'm having a hard time finding cables that I know are safe to use and compatible with the PSU. I'm using 2x EVGA G2 1300W. I need a 8 pin splitter for a 3070 so I can use 1 slot VGA. For some reason EVGA only sells 8 pin (6+2) split with a 6 pin. I've been told I need 16 AWG to be safe, but I'm having a hard time finding it as most are 18 AWG.
your one of them...
18 awg should be fine, doesn't have to be evga specific as it's basically a cable extension just passing the power through
Ok thanks. Do you have any recommendations on a 6pin to 2x6pin to power risers with?
ya sorry bud, I enjoy finding ways to buy cards and I ran out of friends that needed them so I'm giving mining a try as a hobby.
I dont tbh but ehh good luck
is that a sketch thing to do?
Ehh should be okay as long as you do them on different 8 pin wires, just dont daisy chain pig tails
this the right place to ask if any companies make cases that can hold 2 dvd drives?
been years since ive had to look, that is what they call external 5.25" bays now?
Yes, it's external since you can access it without opening the case
There's lots of cool stuff you can put in those bays too, from extra usb ports to a manual fan speed dial to extra 2.5 and 3.5 drive bays
just want to be able to replace my normal disc reader and burner
not even sure if they make non-burners anymore though, cant seem to find them either
There's no real disadvantage to modern combo units, even price is pretty much the same.
Pystar 850W Power Supply 80+ Gold Full Modular PSU,ES850
Why is this so cheap on Amazon?
Because I've never even heard of pystar, probably some crappo chinese unit
Yeah that’s what I thought
Would it be safe to use cable extensions on the oem pcie wire thats splits into 8x2+ 6x2 to power my 3080 ti?
Yea i was hoping to use each 8 pin connector on the gpu and connecting it to 3 pcie connectors on the psu itself
But i only have 8pin (psu) to 8+6x2 (pcie)
I have 2 of them
As long as you have 2 separate cables, the 3rd one should be okay to be daisy chained but I'd advise against it as any psu that should be able to take a 3080 ti, should have 3 separate pcie cables
What psu do you have?
I have a coolermaster 850w sfx psu
I just have to find a 3rd oem pcie 8pin cable somewhere
It didn't come in the box?
Only came with 2 and both are daisy chained
Ehh should be okay with 1 of the things being daisy chained
Im gonna temporarily run it like that but get a 3rd pcie cable
Yeah good idea
Found it on amazon but the missing pin on the top left dosent match up with mine. I have a missing pin on the bottom left
just make sure its actually compatible the cooler master sfc psu
Yea it dosent say. I cant find one anywhere
It’s an Aresgame AGS clone from what I can tell
…why would someone want to clone Aresgame?
Game in the name
Has to be good
yo quick question for yall, can a O11 dynamic hold a 280 rad on the top?
Yes

Would any work well for my build?
None of those are really deals, normal, if not more than normal prices of those products elsewhere
should i get a corsair 1000d?
If you're looking for a good deal on a good power supply https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2HbwrH/corsair-rmx-2018-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020178-na get this
I have been trying to look back for the message you sent recommending a PSU. Unless you had one you usually would recommend for a build like mine. What's the minimum wattage I would likely need.
If you don't mind rebate
650w will do you
Would it be binomial to get a 750Watt if I plan on doing a GPU upgrade in the future.... or is there not as much power creep as there used to be. It's my understanding the 3070 Ti FE already uses more than the base 3070.
Howdy
Imo no
Well it depends what you'd like to upgrade too
I don't intend on getting bleeding edge graphics. This is the most I think I have spent on a card before.
what card?
Meh your case is nice
true
i love it
nice and spacious
and plenty of airflow
If you want to future proof your psu I'd go with https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WxZzK8/msi-mpg-a-gf-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-mpg-a850gf
is there anything bettr than my revolt x 1000w?
I guess I don't have much experience with MSI brand power supplies. I know every brand can make some cheap trash but I want something reliable without paying a ton for something luxury. The price on that MSI 850 watt seems to be less than the Corsair 850 watt I have been seeing.
Yeah but not worth
what is better?
Yep, that msi power supply is an a tier power supply
May I ask where the tier list is so I can better understand what it compares to?
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 14.8 Last Update: 27-07-2021 Legend : Gray - EoL/obsolete and/or otherwise not recommended for purchase. Green - small form-factor (gold and blue colors are disregarded due to scarcity of SFX PSUs) Gold - best units in the tier (includes requirements for blue color in tier ...
Not really tbh actually, it's a top tier a tier
I thought it was b for a sec too
@fierce pivot So I am looking at $90 for the 750 Watt MSI or $110 for an 850 Watt. Is it worth the $20 given my build. I guess if i put in a bunch of money for future parts I could upgrade then too as well.
Depends what you wanna upgrade to
If you want an xx80 tier gpu then 850w if not then a 650w is all you need
What if I OC at all. Will I need more than a 650 Watt
can i use a 400w
If you have low wattage system, ye
5900x 3090
No, bad
Oui
what
Yes in french

Need help with my psu cables
There pcie splits on one end and I don’t know which one goes into my gpu
Or if it even matters
The ends will be labelled
Pcie goes to the gpu
If all 3 ends say pcie then put the end that is not split into the psu
Hi everyone, I ordered an evga g6 1000w psu, i am upgrading from an evga g3 650w psu, will it be possible to just change the box and keep the same cables already attached to the components since it's the same brand?
I wouldnt
Sorry, bought my pc pre built and first time changing psu so kinda lost. Lol
Does the power supply rating matter much?
Doesnt matter for quality of unit
Matters for power efficiency
Theres plent bronze rated psus that are better than gold rated ones
Thanks for the explanation 👍🏻
I hate seeing people piggy back. Always use 2
It's called pigtails btw 😆
Piggy back very different yee
Any input on seasonic tx prime 850w or 1000w for 9900k + 3090? I'm asking because i'm wondering if I have 2 bad psus or something else is wrong with my setup. While gaming, my computer would randomly shutdown with the 850w or randomly reboot with the 1000w.
What's the price you see for those?
Wait
@cyan wyvern prime based units pre-2018 have known issues with shutdown on 3080/3090
I think it's OPP being too sensitive and tripping
Not completely sure on specifics
That makes sense. Thanks for the info
I have a question about my case
I have a Antec df600-flux case
I want to do a full custom loop liquid cool set up. I want to do a 360mm rad for the CPU and a 360mm rad for the GPU. Could I do that and put the res/pump where the rear fan would go?
Can you even fit 2 360s in that?
I would do this
One 360 rad up front with intake
They can
I'd the fans on the outside of the case
And the rad inside
For the intake
I'll probably replace the rear fan with the reservoir/pump
What?
Yeah
Fans on the outside where the cover is and then the rad inside.
I've done it before
Thats what the area there is for...
Ahh right i see what you mean now ye
Yeah
Then the front rad takes up less space
Might not be able to use the cover, but we'll see
Also, was wanting to do something a bit... DIFFERENT with the loop
I want to do something unique
I've heard of people using vodka, mineral oil, etc....could I use brake fluid? It doesn't boil easily, doesn't evaporate....
Just use water like a normal human
Please
Lol
You have no idea how much havoc vodka causes
Really?
Ahhh okay
Cause if you said they have like physical colored flakes or something I would've used like food dye
Imma head to #old-cooling since we changed topics
Just use clean tap water
Or cement

U serious or u joke like cement
Serious, then cement joke
In that case, clean tap water is a big no no
Algae grows and gets gunky and icky
Clean tap water still has little bacteria and stuff growing in it
So I am an indecisive person and I hope I am not frustrating anyone. I have been doing some more research into cases. My new build which I am buying piece by piece is https://pcpartpicker.com/list/brcJj2. I had the Case and CPU cooler that were recommended by users here. I want to try and get a tower that isn't overly large. the P500A gets high marks anywhere I look. However I don't anticipate needing the extra room for the sake of having options.
So I guess my question is.... are there any cases that can accommodate the parts that are labeled purchased on that list. I can choose a different CPU cooler if I need to downsize. I think the limiting factors are going to be something that will fit a 3070 Ti FE and having a good enough AIO to cool my 5800X.
This case will likely sit on top of a desk so looks do matter to an extent. Also I will need some RGB whether that's on the CPU Rad or case fans. I can get the case fans separately if the case doesn't come with them.
.
In the end this is going to be my sons first build and I want something he is going to be proud of and likes the look of.
You want a slightly smaller case? P400a, 4000d airflow are nice cases
With my limited research I noticed a couple of nice looking ones. Meshify 2 Compact/Meshify 2, Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic and H710. It would need to be fit an ATX motherboard.
H710 is an oven
O11 dynamic is fairly large
Meshify 2 is also nice
And the compact is also nice
I liked the looks of the H710 but I don't want looks over decent temps.
so I guess my question is will I see decent temps if I need to go down to a 240 AIO.
Some have suggested front rad mounting isnt ideal. Many smaller cases can only support 240/280 on top.
Bigger radiator in front is better than smaller on top
But 710 is an an awful choice
So would I be fine with a Meshify 2 Compact. Configured with a 360 AIO in front and move the 2x140mm fans up to the top. I guess it also has 1 rear 120 mm fan too.
I like the Meshify 2 standard size but I feel like I don't need the extra space or features. Its only advantage I see is top mounting the AIO. Unless I am missing a feature somewhere.
How does the Lancool II Mesh compare in size to the Meshify 2?
Yeah you would be
I used to have the 4000D and it's good on cooling
The 4000X does come with 3 RGB case fans
4000d airflow* good, regular is not
4000x is only okay for ppl who have a phobia of mesh
Reason: Bad word usage
Reason: Too many infractions
Lancool II Mesh 478mm x 229mm x 494mm
Meshify 2 Compact 424mm x 210mm x 475mm
Meshify 2 542mm x 240mm x 474mm
For some reason this upper port no longer works on my O11 XL
Some people have been saying a setting in BIOS fixes the issue but I checked the usb settings and everything was enabled.
Not sure if there is some other setting that fixes this issue but I'm hoping one of you guys know
Anything I plug in gets power but does not get detected by Windows
Either the cable/header is dead most likely, what motherboard do you have btw?
@fierce pivot The crosshair dark hero by asus
it seems to be a very common issue through google searches
example
win 11 issue ?
X570? Try update the bios
Ahh well could just be faulty port on your case
I built the pc like 4 mo ago :(
Pain
anyone know which one for mb, gpu and cpu?
The longest one is for 24-pin for your mobo, and the one lower to the right of the psu is for cpu, three on the center are for gpu
Just connect em according to what your mobo and gpu needs
Generally for cpu only one is needed
GPU usually 1-2, or 3
The one to the left is needed too iirc, gotta read the manual lol
Like next to 24-pin
okay got it thank you guys i just have to do my boot drive
and some cable management which i dont wanna do😂
https://www.amazon.com/HYTE-Revolt-Factor-Premium-Computer/dp/B09HZ2NCNT/ is this a good SFF Case?
its a good case but also depends on what form factor you want if that makes sense like thats itx but its like a tower vs something thats long like the one you sent before
Tom's calls it "The next must-have ITX case."
if you like the look of the one you sent before, id recommend checking out the Lian Li Q58
if you want something like that revolt and you dont plan on carrying it around like travel or something, also check out the ssupd Meshilicious
once i do save up enough and decide to upgrade my pc, itll probably be in the meshlicious case i build in unless something better comes out
I do want to travel with it
could also look into the cooler master nr200p depending on what gpu youre deciding to throw in there
also i know price point was a problem with the other case costing over $200 but if you really want to, id recommend taking a look at Sliger and their cerberus lineup as theyre pretty customizable and you can opt for a handle on it if you really want but again, theyre fairly pricey
I think imma wait again. It'll be a while before I'm on a plane again.
Also, it'll be a 3060ti EVGA ftw3 ultra in the case with a 3700x. I want to be able to have an AIO for the CPU with good airflow.
This ain't for the specs in my name lol
I have a large backpack that can hold a case much larger than that. So a handle isn't necessary. But nice to have the option.
I'd go with ssupd meshilicious if you want tower style or nr200 if you want small box style, but why change from your evolve x air?
Ahh
Fair
Understandable 120mms aint great
If it was a 3600 I probably wouldn't mind
Do you think microcenter does trade ins for CPUs i bought elsewhere? 😅
Probs not lol
Lol
Here's a link to the PSU tier list!
https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/
@pliant bridge
Also unpin this ig tomie
@urban tulip u got vintage racer unpinned too
comparison sheet is pretty old and pretty barren though
last updated may 2019
Yeah sadly that's the most updated one I could find
With that level of detail
You're forgetting PSU tier list sources list platform index >:P
Hey is this a good case for airflow
Ok so, I am doing a build in the Cougar QBX, which is a SFF case and requires a PUS that is PS2 style (no not PlayStation) but I look and that is not an option as a filter when searching for power supplies on Newegg. Can someone help me out here? The case is here: Check this out on @Newegg: COUGAR QBX Black Mini-ITX Ultra-Compact Pro Gaming Case https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811553020?Item=N82E16811553020&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-11-553-020-_-11072021
Sorry what? Do you mean a sff psu?
Ps2 is a port for old mouse/keyboard
Give me a second
That is the link to cougar and the QBX case near the middle is states needing a PS2 ATX pay
An sff psu should do
Psu
Afaik PS2 ATX is just standard ATX
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/r6bCmG/cooler-master-masterbox-nr200-mini-itx-desktop-case-mcb-nr200-wnnn-s00 btw this is a nicer case imo and like 8$ more
Bottom right
Ps2 psus exist it seems
Yeah it is
So yea, standard atx
The issue per the instruction manual is the orientation of the socket for the 110/120v plug going to the wall. If you look at the review pics in the Newegg post you will see what I’m talking about
I don't see any review pics but it looks like it should go out the back?
My prebuilt has some extra hdmi ports that seem to be different from the mobo? What are those tray slots called?
DisplayPort?
Prolly
Are they on the back of the GPU or still on the back of the motherboard?
Yeah i don’t need that. I mean the hdmi.
Aight
Where do you find that on pcpartpicker?
Find what?
Every modern GPU comes with DisplayPort
Oh aight
You can mess with the filter on PCPP though
Just take a look at pictures of the GPU to look for DP tho
Just remember that this is what it looks like
Aight and then I’ve never built a pc so how do front ports connect to the mobo?
On say this case.
Just a cable and a header on the motherboard
Works the same on all cases
Bro a case fan 3 pack is $90? I thought case fans were like 15-20 each.
well depends on what fans youre looking at
Depends on the brand I suppose
5 pack of arctic p12's is $31 on amazon
Get Arctic p12s only the dumb rgb ones are that much, even arctic p12 rgb are like 15$ each
And arctic p12s are one of the best fans soo
No brainer really
T30: exists
P12: Price exists
I mean yeah a 5 pack of p12 is what a single t30 costs but whatever
Yo I've been hearing a lot of bad reviews lately about DOA Cooler Master MWE 750, anyone know of a alternative for that? 750w gold
If you want a different 750, a750gf is a great unit for like 90 bucks on amazon
I'll grab link
exactly
Dope thanks homie
Yeah np
anyone know what the stock fans that come with the 4000d airflow are? I might pick up a third because it only comes with 2
just grab an arctic p12
Np
also im pretty sure the stock fans in the corsair 4000d airflow, corsair doesnt actually sell
nvm, turns out they do sell them now
when the case came out they didnt sell them before
Yeah but they're meh anyway
Is it possible to front mount a 360mm AIO tubes down in smaller cases? Is it a clearance issue for the tubes or a length issue getting to the CPU.
Specifically asking about cases in the 4000D airflow or Meshify 2 Compact size category. I considered the P400A but it doesn't have front USB-C
Basically impossible to front mount a 360 and have tubes facing down, but tubes facing up is better as long as you have the top of the rad above the cpu(it will be) as if any air gets trapped at least it's up the top and not churning around your radiator possibly causing damage and definitely being loud
So tubes up isn't going to cause an issue for the lifespan of the AIO? I like the P500A but it is big.
Yep
If I front mount an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 A-RGB should I do a push or pull configuration. Performance wise will it matter or does it just determine where the fan lights show.
Afaik there's not a large difference
Really depends on the rest of the fan and airflow setup in your case. Generally, front mounted tends to cause slightly higher GPU temps since the hot air from the radiator is coming back in the case. Top mounted can give higher CPU temps.
The only basic rule to follow is front mounted should be intake
Push/pull on the fan really doesn't matter
What do you guys do with old computer cases?
I have downcycled mine only on my 2nd case
I usually reuse mine for servers and such
ive resold them and reused them. atm the only extra one i have left is my nzxt 210i. just sits on my shelf collecting dust
Depends on how old and if they are good
Usually I repurpose them for servers and spare systems, store them or give them to friends
I don't think Arctic freezer 360mm is gonna fit in my 4000d
am I doing something wrong
It will lol
You can take out the final part of the PSU shroud coming up to the front
yeah I took that little plastic piece out
see because I need to switch the fans to the other side for it to be intake
I'm so lost
Send a pic maybe?
gonna dm so I don't plug chat up
@fierce pivot Regarding the faulty USB port a while ago, opened the case today to check it out a bit closer and saw the 3.0 header was slightly detached.
All ports now working :)
280 aio fit on top in the fractal meshify 2 compact?
yo pato that aio ended up getting in there but it was such a painful process, had to squeeze fans in and stuff but it's in there now! Arctic liquid 360 is a tight fit in 4000d
Strange that it was a tight fit tbh
Very nice aio thho
And case
yeah just getting in the spot was super hard bc I had to take the fans off and move em around to get it in
I'll send a pic in a bit
honestly glad I did it yesterday instead of Sunday when I build the tower
this is my first aio tho and I haven't built a PC in 7 years so maybe I'm just stupid
Probs just a tight fit lol
I'd pros struggle similarly, also have a 4000d, never dealt with aios tho
Hey guys I’ve narrowed down to 3 cases Corsair 5000D, be quiet dark bass pro 900, and Lian Li O11. What do you guys think of these? Is there such thing as quietest and best airflow case or we need to stick with one direction when choosing a case?
I would recc 5000D airflow out of all
Or P500A
O11 Dynamic would be decent enough for most, but I second Foxy's message
O11D is only optimal for custom loops tbh
The airflow side of things of the case isn't that great
Thanks Foxy, but in terms of quietness how’s that? I find that one thing to really have, my Corsair 100d was good at the beginning now I hear all the throttling loading noises and fan noises not sure what’s wrong lol
It's fine for aios too
Good, the more mesh and airflow the quieter it will be, although i 2nd the, just try cleaning it out first, if your fans are dying you can get arctic p12s, practically silent but still really good
Hm ok I never thought of it that way, I thought more openings means sound can leak through. Yeah I’ll try cleaning but I think it’s time for an upgrade since it’s been 7-8 years old
I mean if you still like the case and stuff you don't needa upgrade it
You’re saying take the old case and build around that? I was either thinking letting my wife use it or sell it lmao
Well i mean if you are still happy with it you can but i mean it's up to you, cases along with power supplies are great for bringing forward (or repurposed)
what power supply should I get if I'm getting a 5600g but looking to upgrade to a rtx 3000 series in the future?
would a cosair cx750m be good?
What 30 series card?
