in the giveaway channel, theres a respond emoji under the active giveaways, you just click it to enter the giveaway raffle. you can do this for multiple giveaways at the same time. once a giveaway ends, the winners will be announced and pinged and if you are one of them, you have a certain timeframe to contact the giveaway host to make arrangement to pick up your price or have the price dropped off at your island

if you want to host a giveaway you can contact the modbot iirc and they’ll set things up for you

yep! but you dont just have to be lucky, you can also go to #island-hangouts🛩️🏝️ and hangout with people and you will often get free stuff because everybody™ is nice. (I recommend this, because you can directly make friends and get free or trade goodies, as opposed to trying your luck and waiting to win a giveaway

omg it took a lot of experimenting But the way i did it was when drawing the pattern onto the paper while it was folded i made sure to include that wee circle in what would be the leaf shape, then once i unfolded the paper the leaves would be left with two wee circles in them, so i just cut one circle off of every leaf

Slumber islands are allowed for single players (though not recommended for groups)
For all groups wanting to use Slumber Islands, please note:

• Only 1 person may submit
• The prize will be delivered to the person that submits
• We can not split or share prizes
• Each group will need to agree on how the prize will be shared (pls no argue )
  e.g. If a Slumber Island group of 5 wins 1st place, only the person who submitted will receive the Nitro + Boosts (we can not give out Nitro + Boosts to each member)

Hacked Islands
Please do not build on hacked islands or use hacked items

• We do not wish to see gardens at the bottom of the ocean..
• Or flowers in rivers..
• Or stars growing out of trees.. (and other hacked furniture/impossible flowers)

Other Players
During this event, if you are participating at the same time as inviting other players to your island:

• It might be a good idea to keep track of your process with your garden (screenshots)

Haha! There's nothing wrong with using Slumber Island as long as you did the work yourself! Just think of it as some kind of blank canvas where you are free to sketch. The best part about Slumber Island is that you don't have to find what items you need to purchase or plants you need to breed as you are doing the project. I already have a handful of redesign projects in my real island that needed to be worked on, so there's no way I could use my main island for it.

Thank you! I'll admit, it was a challenging task to do a nice garden since everyone has different methods and preferences on how they want their gardens to look, but it worked out! This contest did give me the inspiration to redesign some garden areas in my island, so thanks for that, you guys!

only the background I dunno but the whole thing took about 30 hours, and an additional 9 hours or so for fiddling with text and layouts/positioning/formatting and going back and forth redoing mistakes
(i have a wip that shows i was done rendering at 18hours but I had to redraw a lot after that since I made 3 different versions, so that added to the time)

(mistakes like I put the sun on the wrong side and shit)

this does not include the time I was thinking up ideas and the whole week I took for writing/forming/ rewriting the description 🤣
Im slow. It always takes me an insane amount of time but I give it my all.

Having to make the dish in real life really makes it an inaccessible event sadly.

Not everyone has access to a full kitchen, or the finances to purchase multiple ingredients outside of their normal food shop.
It also prevents people with disabilities who require support with meal time from joining in.

Hopefully they take this into account for future events.

id say people who dont have access to a full kitchen can still get creative with what they have available. I don’t think acnh recipes have to be complicated or extravagant - there’s dishes like bread and fruit salad in the game.. the issue with the assignment is that it specifically says ‘cook or bake’ which I can see could limit how many people can participate

Just to clarify, the idea isn’t to require anything expensive or complicated! It can be something simple you already make, a normal meal from your usual groceries, or even a dish you’ve cooked before in the past and already have a photo of!

The only rule is that it shouldn’t already exist in Animal Crossing, just to keep it creative! So as long as it is a dish that isn't in game, it can be submitted!

But definitely will keep accessibility in mind for future events and make the wording clearer!!
