I would say try to gather as many materials/nook miles/bells as you can, and try to unlock the facilities. That way you can have the basic necessities unlocked and begin working on your island's atmosphere/getting 5 stars

Especially paying off loans to get a house, you have to have like, 5000(?) miles to get a house, and then to upgrade it is 98k(?)

A lot of stuff on ac requires you to wait till the next day (this is why a lot of people time travel, if you do be aware you're villagers can be upset that you haven't talked to them in weeks/however long, and weeds/flowers can grow rapidly on your island.)

For example, if you were to pay tom nook to upgrade your house/add a bridge/incline, he would start on construction and make you wait till the next day
