• You obtain the Golden Watering Can DIY once you achieve your first 5-star rating. Also, lilies-of-the-valley can spawn as long as your island keeps its 5-star rating!

• The basic idea is to fill your island with plants and furniture, as Isabelle usually suggests. So if she says to add flowers, do it - or at least, wait for them to be fully bloomed (to get the max points from them) ; Same thing if she hints at adding furniture.

•• Meteor Shower & Shooting Star Spawns ••
• Shooting stars only happen between 7 pm and 4 am. There are two main types:

• Heavy meteor showers: These are usually announced by Isabelle and discussed by villagers, with stars shooting in groups of 5 to 8 roughly every minute or so during the whole night. These are pretty rare, averaging around 10 per year.
• Light meteor showers: Only a handful of 5-star groups shoot each hour, if said hour has a clear sky. These average between 5-10 per month.
• Note that weather patterns use a seed and are set in stone for your island, including when the shooting stars will appear, to the second. You can use Ninji's MeteoNook app (https://wuffs.org/acnh/weather/) to help determine your seed and get your weather and shooting stars forecast for your island.

It’s against server rules to ask for treasure islands since they are usually hacked. You can try looking in #mysterybags-and-yardsales but again you cannot ask for them, but people can host them if they’re legitimate. Those islands will not have any glitches/bugs though. Also fyi for future reference please use #bot-commands for personal use of commands

How do I know if a island is legit?

The only way to tell if it appears to be normal. I’ve seen hacked treasure islands where the villager houses are off in the sea and there are glitches where you can run through furniture when you otherwise wouldn’t be able to. Those islands are also the ones with the negative turnip prices. A legit island will appear normal and will not have negative prices.

treasure islands are not something that naturally happen in the game people usually hack them in anytime i have heard about them or have been told they did not naturally happen and they are super glitched

i don’t think there’s a way of knowing unless you can tell because it’s glitches for example: houses in the sea or being able to walk through furniture

There are no consequences like your game is gonna become broken, it’s just against server rules since it’s against Nintendo’s TOS and the server adheres to those as closely as we can. You can tell very easily if it’s hacked or not if it doesn’t look like a normal island

Is bamboo island profitable? I strip it for resources everytime like the bamboo (normal pieces can craft into carpets that sell for 480, costs 3 pieces too), but I feel like I'm wasting my time

Is there a right time to jump into Happy Home Academy? I am already terraforming my island and feeling closer to being done. With Happy Home Academy, is there a story line/plot to get things unlocked? Do you just use bells from the normal game? When is a good time to get into this?

The Happy Home Paradise DLC has its own form of currency called Poki - This is completely independent from your Bells and its used to buy items from the shop on the island. You earn Poki every time you finish a house/facility so you can hop in anytime and it has no effect on your main island at all. Eventually you do unlock the ability to convert Bells to Poki or vice versa (but there is a daily limit) but there's no requirement to actually use it to progress at all.
You unlock things as you progress through. The main "story" finishes after 30 houses, but you can keep designing houses beyond this point too

Well if you feel its a waste of time then it may be best to find alternate ways to make bells (like some of the options below). In practice it will be profitable as you're not putting any bells into it and are always making money out of it, but its the time you're devoting to it (as well as the NMTs to get to the island)

How to MAKE BELLS, the SIMPLE Way:

1. Play the stalk market: buy turnips at a low price and sell them high.
2. Dive and catch sea creatures to sell back to Nook's Cranny.
3. Grow stuff (fruits, flowers, pumpkins, etc) and sell to Nook's Cranny.
4. If you have a NSO (Nintendo Switch Online), trade with other players by visiting trade-rules-verification and seeing where to sell your services or goods!

Once you finish the main portion of the HHP DLC (after 30 houses complete), you do unlock the ability to redesign villager homes on your island.
As for the Player home, that doesn't need the DLC to change anything. When you upgrade it by paying off your loans, you unlock more customisation features for your home (I think these also tie to the villager homes but not 100% sure on this - i.e you need to have paid off your loans to be able to do these to villager homes too)

You can leave the island. The plots have a chance to autofill after each day rolls around so if you get all your villagers before the day rolls over, you will be fine. Trips to mystery islands are fine and can actually help you find villagers you might want on your island.

Don't finish furnishing the plots. As soon as you finish furnishing them, they will sell. Either to the chosen villager or to a randomly assigned villager.
You'll need to find the villagers you want and invite them before completing the furnishings

Once they reach the "bud" stage (visible colours), they will have a chance to produce an offspring with an adjacent flower of the same species if watered - This is how you get hybrid colours (I'll send the infographic about the fastest route to all colours after this). They can also breed, but you'll be unaware of their genetics so its not the best to try and breed other hybrids from them as they may not have the right genetics to get what you're after

For example: in the breeding infographic, there's two types of Purple Mums - There's the yellow star one and the one with the fossil symbol.
If you were trying to get green mums, you'd need to breed 2 yellow star mums. There's no way in game to tell if you have these genetics without breeding the flowers to test. Look at the below images - 2 "002" purple mums (the bad ones) will never breed to create a green mum. Whereas two "210" mums (the yellow star) will have a 25% chance at producing a green mum.

Not attached as I can't add more, but if you were to breed an "002" with a "210" you still wouldn't get a green mum ever.

Yes, so if you just wanted purple mums, they're fine to clone (breeding a 002 and a 210 will not give purples either) so I'd advise cloning over breeding (same chances to clone vs breed, flowers just prioritise breeding so just make sure the flowers are not on adjacent tiles to each other) .
The guides in #garden-science-info should lead you to some good efficient cloning layouts

On my island that I play less, I don’t have all of the 2.0 nook mile furniture available to buy at my nook stop. Even tho I have the update, I can’t buy a plain party lights arch. What’s going on?

Some require K.K slider to have performed for them to unlock. I can grab the list of what's available before and after if you give me a moment to find it

if you have 17+ non fruit trees; there's 2 furniture spawning everyday in them; upgrade nook's cranny for a better choice of furniture; shoot balloons; and don't forget diys; villagers can craft up to 3 per day (crafting for 3h each recipe); and if you have many personalities on your island you get a greater variety of recipes. Kapp'n islands and mystery islands also can contain diys bottles; and mysetery island also have a furniture in the non fruit trees everytime

you’ll find the friend code on your switch settings, not in the game. from your switch’s homepage, navigate to and click on your user icon. there should be something there that says “add friend”, that’s where you’ll find the friend code. if the other person accepts, you can then open your gates in animal crossing for “friends only” and they will be able to find your island or vice versa.

you can also open your gates with a dodo code and make it open to everyone, and then everyone you share that dodo code with will be able to come, whether they’re switch friends with you or not.

It does. Birthday and Island Creation date have an effect on your native and sister flower. The resident rep's birth month determines native flower and the island creation date determines sister flower (ones found on mystery islands)

I have Harvs island but it is only the studio. How do I get the characters to move in? Is that one of the 3 stars events?

So when Tom Nook gives me the three plots.. would I be able to go to other people’s islands before the plots are finished and invite their villagers? I assume not, but I thought I’d ask since they aren’t automatically sold to any villagers at the start hence being able to invite villagers from mystery islands.

If you use nook miles tickets and go to islands there are sometimes characters there to invite. I avoid all the characters.

I have a really specific question. say, I have each personality type on my island except peppy. say I wanted to kick out my only grumpy villager, and fill in the spot with the first peppy I find. if I were to get the grumpy villager I want via campsite, would they be able to kick out the peppy villager despite them being the most recent one?

I watched a video on the campsite thing, I’m not the most experienced so take this with a grain of salt. I’m pretty sure this is definitely a possibility as it chooses a random villager that is already on your island. This would include the new one I assume.

Im wanting to do rows of soil to plant my crops in, but they merge together, and the two different soil colors are not so nice together as well as they still merge together on the map. Does anyone know a way i can lay down soil paint or something and still be able to plant flowers and crops in it?

i have the alternating paths and once i put flowers on it it looks fine

This might have been answered already, but is there a certain number of villagers you can hunt for on mystery islands per day? I've found Audie about 4 times already in the span of about 25 tickets.. Not sure if it's simply luck regarding that considering how many villagers there are in the game.

Thats all down to RNG, the game rolls for species first, then rolls for a villager within that species that you don't already have on your island. So finding Audie 4 times is just bad luck

To add on fruitloops' answer, you can't plant things on custom designs so the only way to achieve what you want is to alternate the light and dark dirt

In the very beginning? You can't invite more villagers than what you have plots for. So having inviting the three, no villagers would show up on mystery islands 😗

Once you have 6 villagers, they have a chance to ask to move out. When one asks to, and you let them, they'll be in boxes (=packing up their stuff) the next day. That's when someone with an open plot can come on your island and ask the villager to move onto their island

Villagers don't have "rarities" in the game, that's solely based on opinions. All villagers have pretty much an equal chance of showing up on mystery islands

Once you have 6 villagers, you can buy 4 plots from Tom Nook by selecting "sell some land" when talking to him

You'll get your 6th villager via the campsite; progress through the story to unlock the campsite quest. 😗 It'll unlock after resident services upgrades into a building, which happens after your 5th villager moves in IIRC
