not 100% sure on the custom designs, but I do think they stay (if someone else could confirm that'd be great 😄 ), and as for the nooklink app you'll need to link it to your new island in the settings on the ACNH game by pressing "-". Then going into the nooklink settings on the app on your phone and switch the profile over

(so on the main menu of acnh click the - button then click the NookLink option, then click the yes option and it should link it to the app (just go into the app, click the acnh option, go into setting, then change player, and your new one should be there) full details of how to do the nooklink thing

So if your pattern is decreasing in one week, the next week it'll be: a 25% chance for a Random (aka Fluctuating pattern), a 45% chance for a Large Spike, a 5% chance for Decreasing, and a 25% chance for a Small Spike

for the most part, they are basically just collectibles, you can use them to scan villagers to come live on your island, but you don't need them, for the most part. For the Sanrio Villagers however, they're required to have the villagers move to your island, and to also unlock the exclusive Sanrio furniture (the furniture can be traded for, just won't be available for re-order in the catalogue without you scanning the corresponding amiibo)

My friend is telling me twice their villagers have left in new horizons without them asking to leave and one of the villagers turned up having moved into another persons island, not sure if it’s related

I thought they had to ask and they’d only move into an island if that player talked to them while In boxes so I’m confused how that’s even possible

1. They cannot leave without asking
2. Villagers can come from a place known as the void/move out queue. The villager goes into this place when they aren't adopted, it can hold up to 10 villagers, and whenever you visit someones island or they visit you, one of the villagers is placed into your move-in queue, which holds a max of 4 villagers. The villagers empty out of the move in queue whenever you leave a plot to auto-fill (i.e you don't go hunt for a villager on mystery islands, or you don't go and adopt from someone else)

Nope, no profiles or other users and they’re the only one with access to their switch.

you can complain to Isabelle to reset their catchphrase (ask to complain about the way they talk), though be warned that catchphrases are copied often by the villagers and spread like wildfire lol

So if you don't want them to copy each other, either give them all a catchphrase (they won't copy another one if they already have their own custom one) or give none to anyone

Custom catchphrases spread from villager to villager, you can't prevent it, but you can complain to Isabelle about the way they talk to reset it to default

I think you would need another copy. You could potentially put your account on both of those consoles and play it like that, but you would need an Internet connection to even play on the other one. And I don't think that you'd be able to visit your other island. Also, you wouldn't be able to add any other accounts.

When you relocate a villager house, it prevents them from being able to ask to move out. So you can increase your chances of your target villager asking by going to Tom Nook in resident services, asking him to move a non-target's house, and then just keeping the relocation kit you're given in your pockets until the target villager asks. You can return the kit and get your bells back as well.

Solo, the only way is to grind Nook Miles and Nook Miles+ achievements.

Via trading/with others, there's lots of creative things people have come up with, I just recommend finding what works best for you or asking in #acnh-chat⛱️ for input. Time traveling to get a good turnip price and charging an entry fee, charging entry fees for NPC visits (Celeste in particular), and trading high-value items (seasonal DIYs are still pretty lucrative because balloon farming is hellish) are all viable options.

Some fruits you can only obtain through playing with other users via online or local play. Do you know what your islands native fruit is? It should be on your passport.

Additionally, when you start the game, you will receive a different fruit in the mail from 'Mom', and you can find another species of fruit through travelling to mystery islands. The remaining fruits you do not obtain through those means, you will have to get from playing with others.

I have used ungodly amounts of fish bait on the pier on my island and I simply cannot catch a blue marlin or mahi-mahi to save my life does anyone have any sort of advice or tips??

Unfortunately there isn't really a "trick" when it comes to catching rare fish. They are rare for a reason, and there isn't a good way to force spawn them aside from tossing fish bait. I would suggest you keep trying, making sure you're in the correct time zone that they spawn in, and just be patient.

Optionally, you can "save scum" catching them. Throw as much bait as you can before autosave hits, then if you didn't catch the fish you were looking for, close the software and reopen it. Your bait will be there (because you prevented autosave from realizing you had spent it) and you can rinse and repeat.

make sure you are looking out for the right size shadow too. mahi-mahi is a size 5, which is unfortunately the same size as a sea bass, while a blue marlin is size 6 ^

Yes you will, save data is tied to the Switch itself so a new device = new island. If it's the same profile though, you'll be required to have an internet connection on the secondary device, and you won't be able to visit your other island.

Hope this is the right place I've been trying to catch a Goliath Beatle for the past 4 days with no luck is there like a special way to get them to spawn or what it's the last bug I need thats leaving at the end of the month.

Goliath Beetles are a palm tree bug, so you can try to farm them by visiting a Mystery Island during their spawn time and cutting down all the trees except palms. By working with a smaller area, you can scare off other bugs easier and make the catch process move a little faster. You'll still have to be patient but it's a little easier than trying to do it on your home island.

Also, I assume you've already done this, but it never hurts to mention that you need to have caught at least 100 bugs (total from the start of your game until now) in order for the Goliath Beetle to spawn (this is called a catch lock)

You're fine the first time, the second time you get teleported back to your house but that's the worst thing that happens. And like someone else said, you can take medicine, or you can close and reopen your game and your character will look normal again.

Talk to Tom Nook, and ask to sell some land, he'll give you a housing plot to place down. Do that and then find a villager for said plot... or let the game do it after a few days

Two ways:

1. You can scan villager cards at the machine in Resident Services to summon the villager to the campsite,
   after summoning them on three different days and completing their request each time, you'll be able to invite them to live on the island... And if you already have 10 villagers, they'll give you the choice of who to replace
2. You can scan any Animal Crossing amiibo at Photopia (Harv's island) to spawn the character if it has an actual model in-game. In any case, you'll unlock the character's poster for order from Nook Shopping
