i think it means you need to see the other flowers that have the yellow background. like to get blue roses, according to this, youd need to breed an orange and purple rose, and they need to produce two red roses. you need to then breed those specific red roses with each other to get blue.

i always go to mystery islands since theyre smaller and easier to run around,, if i'm looking for a specific bug, i'll make sure those types of bugs are one of the only types that can spawn (if you tt, check what timings the least amount of other bugs spawn, and eliminate anything other bugs can spawn on- so if you're looking for a bug that spawns on palm trees, chop down every other type of tree, get rid of stumps, pick flowers, etc so only air/water/palm tree bugs are able to spawn)
after that, scare away any fish or bugs that clearly aren't the ones you're looking for, and run back and forth on the island since bugs and fish only spawn off-screen
i've heard pier fish can spawn on the wooden landing dock (?) on mystery islands so finding them shouldn't be an issue

What island you go to is pure RNG, no way to influence it. But every single island but one have the same amount of palm trees, 4. Go to one island and if it isn’t a good island, dig up the trees and bring them to another one. Then you’ll have at least 8 of them!

my headcanon about the hybrid islands is that they were a treat for the players who got the game relatively early, since the ones there had genotypes which allowed for the top tier colors which would otherwise take much longer and have lower chances to get, as shown in the picture

for example the pansy and windflower ones had blues that were able to make purple at 25%, not 6.25% with the “hybrid reds” shown in the breeding tag

After the second Wuh-oh I usually just retry from the start. Sometimes it feels like the game auto-refuses me if I get too many errors.
If it's an island that is free to go to for a larger amount of people then it's understandable that it will be hard to travel there. If it's supposed to be available for only you, you should check with the owner that they didn't leave their game with a menu open.

you should still be okay with going day by day, as it shouldn’t trigger the bubble’s cooldown when someone moves in

On each side of the cliffs on tier 2, place down the non-floating blocks. Then, in the space in-between when you go back down on tier 1, place the floating blocks. Hope this helps
