It will only clear some internal storage and remove the game from your list of games. To reinstall it, you go to Redownload Software in the Nintendo Eshop. It does not remove any save data

I found a solution on a reddit discussion;

1. I’m using WiFi so they asked me to unplug my router for one minute and then plug it back in.
2. wait for the lights on the router to stop flashing and then go to internet settings on the Switch and connect to the network (even if you’re on auto connect)
3. once it connected I tried it again with no success.
4. go to switch home screen and manually close out animal crossing (save first) and reopen it
5. tried to connect to friend with no success.
6. friend tried to connect AND IT WORKED!!!
7. I tried to connect to their island AND IT WORKED

• You obtain the Golden Watering Can DIY once you achieve your first 5-star rating. Also, lilies-of-the-valley can spawn as long as your island keeps its 5-star rating!

• The basic idea is to fill your island with plants and furniture, as Isabelle usually suggests. So if she says to add flowers, do it - or at least, wait for them to be fully bloomed (to get the max points from them) ; Same thing if she hints at adding furniture.

okay so for the cast master achievement, if I go to a NMT island (or when I cast bait) where there’s multiple fish at one location, and I catch one of the fish but in doing so scare away the fish around it, does this reset my count? Iirc, it will reset if you cast your line and scare a fish by pulling it out so I wasnt sure if this scenario also counted since there’s really nothing you can do about that.

Good luck! If they pick a villager you don’t want to part from, just close the game before you close the dialogue where they suggest who to kick out and retry!

Gold roses only require the golden watering can, so you don’t technically need 5 stars for that if you get the can elsewhere. however when you have 5 stars, lilies of the valley will spawn, and you get the golden watering can diy.

Many people move all their buildings to the beach, then “flatten” the island and start from there. You can reset without losing your catalogue, but it’s tedious work and requires another player (middle-man). I would only recommend resetting if it’s the true island layout you want to change (location of resident services, airport, Redds beach, river mouths, peninsula and beach rock placement), as these items cannot be changed/relocated in game.

The goal isn't to finish the "story", it's to enjoy living on your island paradise 🙂 There are still items to collect, challenges to complete, events that happen during the year, and visitors that stop by.

The only way to get iron nuggets is rocks. You can use NMTs to visit mystery islands if you've used yours for the day, but they don't always have rocks.

Do you have an online subscription? You need to enable the cloud save in the title screen menu by pressing -
To get your data back you will need to contact nintendo as this cloud isn't available to players. I would try contacting nintendo before resetting once you've enabled the cloud save.
The lastest save date will be indicated on the title menu
