hi, I've been searching an answer for my question for a few days now but I haven't found anything, so I thought I'd ask you guys.
Is there a known bug that prevent villagers from wearing gifted clothes? Since the Mario update, three of my villagers have suddenly stopped wearing the clothes I gifted them. Before that, they'd change clothes every now and then, but they just stopped doing that after the update.

Mine do were gifted presents still but I haven't gifted cloth in a while

It doesn't matter if they're recently or not recently gifted . Like, I've had 2 new villagers since the update, one of them wears the clothes I gifted her, the other one started to wear them and all of sudden stopped. As for the other 2 villagers, I've had them for months and haven't gifted them any new clothes for a while, but they just stopped wearing them. I've tried gifting them new clothes, they try them on when I gift them, but never wear them ever again.
They still display them in their house, keep them in their storage and stuff, but they just don't wearing anything but their default clothes anymore.

Yea, I think it seems to be pretty random. I don't know if I did something that triggered that bug since I didn't do anything special, it doesn't seem to be linked to the villager's origin since the 3 that stopped wearing their clothes are all different (one is adopted, one is from the campsite, one is from an amiibo). It doesn't necessarily happen for the most recent villagers either, since the first 2 have been on my island for month, and the last one only for a few days.
So that's definitely really weird.

Not sure what you mean. Flowers and weeds grow/spread on a new day and they don't need rain for that. Watering is needed for increasing breeding/cloning chances

(Note that you will likely have to do this on the new switch, not the old one, since the new one is your primary)

You can delete residents from the title screen (hit the - key). If their account is still on your Switch, you have to delete it from that account. If you deleted the account, then you can delete the resident from your own account
