of course you can't enter it from that end as you can't access it; and if you enter another pipe, you can't come out of this blocked one (if you have only one other pipe, you'll come out from the one you just entered), basically you disable the pipe and it acts only as decoration

I had the same issue, but that's actually because the nook shopping items actually show up using the search feature only when they are also in the seasonal tab. (When I tried to search for it around valentine's day, I was confused about why I had only 1 version of the chocolate heart in catalog while I had all 4 in storage, but that's because it was that particular variant that was currently available to order in the nook shopping seasonal tab.)
Now that it's not in the seasonal tab anymore (unless you time travel), all variants are hidden using the search bar or normal catalog categories.

The self made one was patched I believe but you can still hunt for them on mystery islands. It gives you better visibility and more room for them to spawn ig.

they can do that. all villagers have preferences, they tend to wear the items depending on that, but not exclusively. so even if it is 100% within their preferences they might still display it.
you'd need to take the items off the furniture to it can got in the wardrobe but as of 1.7.0 it is a pretty tedious process
