No, you can remove villagers once you have your first six! You can replace them with future campsite visitors, or they'll ask to leave!

But will stop if you stop moving for a while

So all you gotta do is ready your net and walk towards it when it's not hissing and stop when it starts hissing

hi! just so you know, critters can't be traded! that being said;

Tarantulas and scorpions only target you while you are actively holding your net. hold your net, like you're about to catch a bug, and slowly make your ways towards the tarantula. when it rears up and "hisses" at you, stop moving! wait until it stands normal, and walk slowly to it again. repeat until you get close enough to swing and catch!

Don't let items you don't want people to pick up not fenced up or properly placed, if you see people dropping items on your island with strange names, shut off your console so it doesn't save.
If you see someone trying to scam you in their island feel also free to shut off your console so it doesn't save.

How to upgrade Resident Services into a building
• You need at least 5 villagers to be fully moved onto your island.
• Unlock the museum (can either be the tent or the upgraded building).

To unlock the museum, give 5 different critters (bugs, fish, or sea creature) to Tom Nook.
• If both of these are met, Tom Nook will announce that Resident Services will be closed the following day for construction. The day after that you’ll have the building! (You can time travel to make this process quicker.)

you can invite your first three from NMT islands (not other users) due to them being personality locked! if you want a specific villager, its suggested to not fill out the furniture completely (ex: do 2 of 3 interior furniture) that way the plot stays "unfinished" and wont autofill

There’s also a “Short simple panel" (w/same color options) & @ only 810 bells or 650 bells, respectively, these are quite cost effective. I think 1 customization kit per panel to modify them.

I believe you're also limited to a total of 20 fragments per day. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you wish on shooting stars one evening, then completely skip the next day, you will not get your fragments (so if you wish on a Monday, then don't play or time travel past Tuesday, you will not get them at all)

So I played a lot a New Horizons when it came out but then stopped right before any important updates (I think like the dream adress thingy?) and with Pocket Camp, my love for AC has been rekindled, and I kinda want to restart my island to start fresh.
I don't know if I should do it though, I do have a friend who's willing to keep for me everything of value (bells, mostly, but surely there are some things I've forgotten that I would want to keep). I'm aware that I would lose DIY as well but I'm not sure if it would be that big of a deal?
So I guess my question is, is there someone in the same position that restarted fresh and what are the things that you would have done before a restart? Thank you so much and merry holidays!

if not, there’s a 20% roll that a plot fills or not each day

To unlock the Happy Home Paradise DLC after purchase, you must

• Upgrade your tent to a house.
• Complete the DIY workshop with Tom Nook.
• Upgrade Resident Services to a building.

Tom Nook will then phone in to introduce you to Lottie to start the beginning sequences of the DLC. You may need to wait for a new day to roll over to get this cutscene.

• Unlock the museum (can either be the tent or the upgraded building).

To unlock the museum, give 5 different critters (bugs, fish, or sea creature) to Tom Nook.
• If both of these are met, Tom Nook will announce that Resident Services will be closed the following day for construction. The day after that you’ll have the building! (You can time travel to make this process quicker.)

Tbh I’ve never done it but to my understanding if you move your home to another island your home disappears from the switch it used to be on. And then you and your friend could use the couch co-op (app in nook phone with a flag on it) to play together. But you’d have to physically be in the same room as each other for that to work

You need the Happy Home Paradise DLC if you want to customize their homes. Customizing their outfits isn't really possible--you can gift them clothes and sometimes they'll wear them, sometimes they won't. It depends on the villager and clothing

Got my sister NH for Christmas, problem is that she can’t get to her switch for another 2 weeks. I don’t want to completely erase my save file, so would I be able to enable cloud save, let it save, disable auto save so mine stays untouched online, create new island then transfer it to her switch eventually, and then restore mine from the cloud? I found this about cloud saves, has anyone tried this? Or done a temp new island then got back their old one using a cloud save? Or do I do this in system settings instead of in game?

cloud saves can only be restored/reverted back to by nintendo as far as im aware. its unfortunately only for cases where the data was corrupted, or your switch was damaged or stolen:

If you check on Sunday and the price is kinda high you can go back a day, save and progress back to Sunday to get a new price

So long as you save when planted you can plant a tree, skip 5 days and they have fruit

Crops are a bit more weird because you have to water them 3 times before the harvest to get max produce

If you meant what kind of furniture will get you the rating the quickest, you can have a look at this site for how the rating is calculated ^^ honestly, just placing down a ton of the furniture you happen to already have is a solid strategy, and you can clean up after you reach the rating and get the unlocks. How it looks does not really matter to the game, it's essentially all about quantity (on top of a couple penalties, but you usually don't need to worry about them). And mannequins placed using the custom design app also give 1 development point each, so you can use those too if your furniture supply is limited. But like the bot message suggests, if you meant just design wise, #acnh-chat⛱️ or #island-designs is a more appropriate channel!

Don't worry, they are queued up now and will move in once you place the plots. You can invite one more villager for the plots, and after that no more will spawn on mystery islands for now, until you get more plots. ^^

I made a museum ceiling room once, a nice historical wall paper and desert ground together with this one huge Egyptian statue and 15 well ordered fishes, a skeleton and some bugs. Looked really cool with a path to walk through. I think the game counted it as bad/trashy because it got barely any points 🥺

Villagers will never change anything outside, only within their homes. So losing the materials is not something to worry about, no! You can yourself decorate the area around their house to match the villager's vibe better if you wish, but the villagers will always be content with what you've given them, and not touch it ^^

Hanging items on the walls should require no permit from nook miles redemption! You just need to have an item that is able to be hanged on a wall ^^
Hanging items on the ceiling does require a permit, Diplôme de déco pro, but wall items do not. What problem are you having when trying to hang objects on your wall on the secondary account?

And you can also see that each variant's colour lists both the box colour and the corresponding ring colour from the image you posted, which basically confirms that they are tied together, as those are the in-game colour values of the items

See I don't have Cyrus unlocked yet, only furniture customization so it's slightly confusing 😭

For example, I ended up with a bed that had various frame colors. But you couldn't 'customize' the frame colors. You could only customize the fabric of the bedspread.

You had to apparently take it to Cyrus to get the wood/frame customized

So I was wondering if this was another case of that...

Oh yes, the ring is a Cyrus exclusive customization!
In case this will make it any more clear, generally, what you can customize yourself and what requires Cyrus follows pretty simple logic; e.g. fabric and stickers can be changed by yourself, on top of everything about all DIY furniture, but parts of shop-bought furniture that would require a more extensive process, such as painting, to change the colour require Cyrus. This of course isn't a rule with no holes, for instance the ring is a bit more ambiguous, and you just have to learn a lot of the cases, but I have found it to be an alright rule of thumb to follow!

E.g. with the Elegant Bed, you can change the sheets yourself, but the frame needs Cyrus. And with the Simple Sofa, the fabric can be changed by yourself, but the feet require Cyrus
