where you placed the house shouldn't affect anything, if you already recruited someone today you won't be able to find anyone else (unless you're still recruiting the first 3 villagers but then placing a house on a cliff probably wouldn't be possible)

also if you placed the house more than a day ago it's also possible it sold, the sign out front will say so if that's the case

Someone said that you can’t get the golden tools DIYs without hacking but online it says you can get the DIYS.. I’m confused which is true?

The only DIYs for golden tools that are supposed to exist as tradeable card are the golden slingshot DIY and golden shovel DIY. All the others are normally sent directly to your Nookphone without ever existing as a tradeable card; yet those cards exist in the game files, so people who manually add in items in the game through hacks/mods can make them exist as cards

So the only way to get DIYs is via special circumstance, ie, isabelle will put it directly onto the nookphone. Having golden tool diys that you can trade is a hack, because you cannot trade them as they are specifically put onto the phone

For the pillars and walls, eventually you will get them s DIYs (HHP progression based) and need to make each one separately to use in your house. I don't remember how to unlock accent walls (I believe it is a thing you buy in the ABD at resident services for miles), but once that is unlocked you use them as normal (face a wall and press the correct button I want to say Y but i don't remember )

So randomly they'll have the sister fruit rather than your native fruit, you just need to get lucky. Say you get pears on one mystery island instead of cherries, well then your mystery islands will only have pears and cherries, no other fruits (discounting coconut and bamboo)

The fruits your villagers/mom gifts are random iirc, but it's rare you get different ones. Collecting them as gifts/trades will not affect sister fruits on NMT islands

Has she put the plot down for Audie to move into? Placed the items nearby that are requested? I think that's some of the early game play for inviting villagers. From previous answers to questions, Audie will still be part of the move in queue once the plot/decoration item conditions are met 🙂

ok this isnt game related but i saw someone else ask a similar question. i got a gift card for the nintendo e-shop for someone, would they have to change the region of their switch to use it on the shop? im not in the UK or US but the shops here only sell the giftcards in usd or uk pound. on the websites itll vaguely state you can only use them in the country in which they are sold, but i cant tell if that also includes the currency (us/uk)? idk employees were kinda unclear about it but right now im assuming yes they would have to change the location of their nintendo account to change the region of their switch and e shop

No, they would only remember you if you got them back from player X (or whoever has them now) ; otherwise, it'll just be another copy (or clone as you call it) with their own different memory, same thing for campers (amiibo or regular) and mystery island encounters: they'd start with no memories

If you mean the Sanrio amiibo series, just as you scan it it will grant you the items in your Nook Shopping for purchase. The villagers are only invited to live on your island if you proceed with inviting them 3 times to your campsite, and then confirming with them that you want them to move in.

I believe these are all just super creative uses of multiple items put together! Looks like a cliff, the door is a display board and the sign and top windows are smaller displays. The shop "front" is two shelfs, one facing backwards and one forward with items in the glass. I can't pinpoint exactly what was used, but this is not DLC, just very creative

There's no region lock, but IIRC, the inner part (green land and rivers) is randomly chosen from a set list, while the outer part (beaches, rocky formations, small stretch of land) is generated independently... Which means it would be almost impossible to have that exact same map

It's not really a science. You're still operating at the pleasure of the game's random number generator. So these methods are the easiest way to get those random generations to work in your favor... but it's not guaranteed.

You can have lots of bridges, whichever type of bridge you like. You need to talk to Tom and discuss the prompt with him about layout (or infrastructure?) changes. You'll get a follow up prompt about bridges/inclines

After speaking with him, you can choose from a prompt saying that you found a creature. Donate two creatures, and he’ll reward you with a DIY recipe to make a Flimsy Axe.

Once you donate five creatures (fish or bugs) to Tom Nook, he’ll invite his buddy Blathers the Owl to your island. The next day, when Blathers shows up in his tent, talk to him and he’ll give you recipes for both the Vaulting Pole and the Flimsy Shovel.

when trading ? you should test your internet connection, the recommanded NAT TYPE is rank B or above for smooth trading

connection error is usually from your internet or your trading partner's; unless you have a hardware issue, then you'd need to change your switch

Well, kind of. Their personality is set, but other than that it is random. But yes, you are kind of 'stuck' with those personalities. They can start moving out eventually. Also, choosing is also luck based in the same way as getting the first 6, it's just random luck when you go to NMT islands, the only difference is the personality won't be locked (and i believe the first 7 are always: sisterly, jock, normal, lazy, peppy, and smug)

Oh, yeah but auto fills will always be a thing, so you'll always have an autofill if you don't villager hunt the same day as the plot is empty. rarely it can take two days, but in that sense you can't choose

The 6th villager will always be the campsite one - it will always be smug and you need to invite them on the island in order to progress the game. Without Amiibo, campsite villagers visit at random

If you have 10 villagers (the max) they will ask to trade with a random one already on your island. If you don't have 10, yes, you will need to build a house and then after that can invite them

If you have amiibo card of a villager, you can invite them to the campsite and ask them to move in after you finish 3 days worth of tasks for them, but amiibo cards are the only way to ask a specific villager to move in

The rates never change, it will always be the same random chance as finding them. Them having lived on your island before does not matter for who will randomly spawn on a NMT island when hunting

It's marginally variable but that's more with species generation - you'll have the same chance at finding Marina as you did today. And yeah as Seo said you can trade villagers online if you got NSO

So the flow is this:
Villager asks to move out and you say yes > Villager is in boxes preparing to leave > Plot is empty. When they're in boxes someone can come into their house and ask the villager to come live on /their/ island

Each > represents a day

The person asking the villager on a friend's island to move into theirs has to have an empty plot available or the villager will not ask to move in

So when someone leaves quietly or disconnects without using the airport, the data sometimes messes up and trades are not completed. When this happens, items are not properly transferred and that is likely what happened to you. It's why it's highly advised to ONLY leave via the airport rather than using the minus button - it messes with save data

yah you'll get the regular someone's leaving message. if they use the minus button it will instead say "someone quietly left"

So if we're on the same page I believe that one resets upon any movement so there's no way to keep it. The only two you can keep are the default + up angle view (when you press up instead of down on the joycon for camera view)
