the chainkiller is Walker, Harris & Co. so you should farm either that brand or chests when you can do targeted loot

I have around 280%~ headshot damage before seasonal modifiers and can one shot nearly anything once the set and talent buffs are active, the only things that usually stop me in my tracks are enemies with helmets that require a shot to break

Something's weird with escalation drop rate.

It feels like there are certain segments/areas which actually do not drop any proto gear at all.

For example, in museum you have sections that spawn 15 NPCs but I've never seen a proto drop there.

On Darpa on the other hand, every area can drop proto gear.

Has anybody else noticed this? It seems like some NPCs or areas are programmed to not have any proto drops.

You can notice this with certain missions as well. Museum has a lot more spawns than DARPA yet every run has had less drops compared to DARPA.

I think more likely this is what it looks like with RNG more broadly; people search for a pattern, to explain a phenomena, where none really exists. So it must be that it's certain maps and not others, rather than RNG means you can have a burst of a lot of drops, then nothing, as they represent both ends of the potential spectrum.

According to data gathered, each NPC should have a specific % chaance to drop proto gear.

In playing many escalations after the new update, I have noticed that there seem to be some areas (mostly transition areas from one "main fight" to another) in which the NPCs will not drop any gear which doesn't track with the "every NPC has the same chance to drop proto gear " theory.

I am curious if anybody else has noticed something similar.

I started this evening by getting a number of keys to drop from Kitsunebi, now I'm not getting any; I could argue it's "weird" how it dropped off, but that's how RNG works; it's never truly random because that's exceptionally hard in practice. Quite often there has to be an arbitrary loading to not have it constantly either have nothing, or something.

It's better to think of it as a probability versus a % chance. So for example, if you did one of the raids 10 times and pulled the box once each time, the drop chance % for the exotics are 10%. So, just because you do the raid 10 times each doing 1 pull, does NOT mean you'll be guaranteed to get it after 10 runs. It means you instead have a 90% chance to NOT get something every time

Tier 1 drop odds:

You could be farming missions thousands of times and still maybe count on one hand how many proto drops you'll get

But, the same can be said. You can have bottom .000000001% luck and get nothing in those 1k runs. But some other guy could run it once and get 10 drops because he's a walking rabbits foot

if your not already 30 exp, then just target loot farm certain gearsets and dont waste your time worrying about any other proto gear until changes are made. You need drops with the exact rolls your looking for to be worth it, and the chances of finding anything useful outside gearsets is super small

If tomorrow we get double material gain from deconstructing gearmod, then farm for it. Focus on raising stuffs that are hard to be proficient in like skills and random exotics you dont use.

Deconstructing a gearmod gives 6 printer filaments. That means 12 if its doubled.

Here's the thing. It's partially my own fault why this process is so slow and tedious, because ideally, you'd use the items/gear you wanna max your proficiency with, right?

But that means I have to "sacrifice" my fun and my want to play the set/weapon I want only to grind.

What I do now, is that I loot everything as junk and donate it.

Not really. That seems impractical and a hassle. If you want to dedicate yourself to grinding expertise, focus on Gearsets and Brandsets first. Once they're all done except Yaahl and System Corruption since those two sets are rarely found, look for someone who can host Houndsman bounty farm for named items. Once thats also done, farm gearmods and deconstruct every single one of them to get Printer Filaments, use it to donate stuffs that are difficult to be proficient in. Like skills or useless exotics for example.

Reason why it's meta is that no other non Chest/BP talents get to 30% amp dmg. Even with half uptime you'll still do 15% amp more dmg than any other piece of gear.
This is final amp so you can actually say it's 30% more dmg you would do.

I did that for the simplest fact that you think that Pesti Ticks account for DPS and that's what makes it better than Striker’s. Sorry to break it to you, but Ticks are separate Weapon DMG and TS stacks does not scale them. Come on, tell me what you show off and I will tell you what you lack of.

pesti ticks are just part of dps, its fairly easy to calculate into it. Just get the builds dps without it, and pesti tick / 2, add them together. Pesti ticks generally add way less dps than its fans think it does but its not nothing

we went through this yesterday, but you're not realistically going to get good pieces out of the mode to use directly unless it's a gear set piece. the main realistic way of getting usable pieces is via upgrading exp 30 pieces
