far as i can tell you there are only 3 cores. weapon damage/armor/skill tiers. the weaopn damage affects the damage your guns do, armor just gives you armor for survivability but we don't recommend it unless you're want to be the guy to fight a boss solo for most of Iron Horse 2nd room, skill tiers affects your skills

When an enemy is winding up a grenade or similar, if you shoot them they can fire directly into their own cover/drop the grenade down. If you time it right, it's hilarious.

its probably never been completed on story. its able to sometimes start at your current world level but it wont complete the story even if you ran it on heroic. just run the story and be done with it
