There is a way to skip phases idk if it’s patched or not but it takes multiple phases to complete

if he is the one hosting, take this with a grain of salt as I'm not 100% sure, butI believe how it works is he will get xp + party group scaling XP for additional teammate. You might not be getting that boost. This is under the condition you are both similar levels..

per activity complition doe not for enemies, also we were both 14 completed the main mission and he got to 16 while i only got to 15 , i got around 60k xp and he got around 170k , we both playing on game pass andi got a dlc

I woudl say just compare with your friend. The setup, the modifiers, the seasonal. Keep this in mind, if he's completing Seasonal Jorney steps he will get quite a bit of seasonal XP. Journey Steps give tons of XP.

yeah I get it.. it's strange. if you get 60k xp per mission and he gets 170k per mission that's a reward at the end of the mission. I was just thinking he might be using skills or something more, so he completes the Journey Step (Season Journey) that's available to everyone.. so he gets more XP to level up faster than you. This would explain maybe why you would be behind him in levels but not the final mission reward XP.

I just want to highlight something for you as a lot of people are not aware.. Just by passing the party lead to someone doesn't change the "session owner". So I would say test it out in this way.

Disband the party, you invite him. Check the map, see if it says Session Owner "your username". Play one mission. Then disband the party, and join on him.. Check again if you are on his session and then play another mission. See if it makes a difference.

There’s just an extreme need of challenge with the difficulty like you’re not expecting to be fully rewarded you just wanna test your build and see how you do? Any of y'all get the legacy manhunt missions to actually work? Every one of the mission selections only let me target Jupiter on Ros Island. No Master difficulties. Even the Schafer manhunt on the Countdown map shows the yellow Icon but no matter how many times I complete it dose not go away. I tried to get to the tanker for the Kelso mission and it tells me fast travel is not allowed outside of DC/NY. impossible to replay any of then aside from Jupiter. I don't know what do do.

Doing countdown objectives finishing the countdown and killing hunters during the countdown give you countdown requisition tokens. If you miss a hunter or you fail an objective or fail to extract you lose a bunch. The amount may change

I keep seeing backfire builds suggesting a piece of yaahl. And that's great, Still trying to farm out the right ones. If you use two pieces of Ceska, that gives you +20% Hazard Protection. Much easier to farm. If you have Hazard Protection on all your gearset pieces already, you only need Hazard Protection on one piece of the Ceska. Can leave the other piece CHC/CHD, which many people have already.

Just run it on your typical HF or striker build. Running haz pro with it is a trap. If your running the backfire in the right situation you won't bleed after a few reloads and/or when you reach max stacks. If your finding yourself constantly bleeding then it worth just running another gun instead of putting on haz pro.

it does get you better gear.. the problem is normal/hard difficulty drops superior gear still quite often, and high-end not as often.. you should try to make a build so you can do at least challenging for a while.. this will give you better gear. This is why a lot of people recommend newer folks leveling up to at least get a basic striker build so they can farm challenging for better gear.. from there you can start making nicer builds and move away from striker if you like skills or whatever.

it's rng, and you're too new to the game to really get many chances to get most of them

you don't have to stick to countdown honestly.. you can just make a nice easy generalist striker build that consists of high-end chest with obliterate, memento bag, and 4 striker pieces on the rest. Try to roll them with crit chance/crit damage and maybe have a couple of blue cores to make you not as squishy.. target maybe 1.1m armor for comfort level. Memento will give you a lot of survivability as well.. then just blast heroic for a while until you get min-max-ed builds to an extent and try out chest piece from striker to see how it works with 200 stacks and similar as you will most likely use that for legendary difficulty.

depends.. for example, you won't use memento for the most part on raids or legendary content simply becaue you need bursts of damage. memento requires you to get to it. So some people get pissed off. Not that you should care what people think in general, but I'm saying it's ramping up to get the benefits.. the bag and chest are usually used in those aspirational activities, raids/legendary as you will most likely have a healer so you want to hit as hard as you can.

haha.. descent is purely up to you.. some people like it, some don't.. I'm kind of in the middle.. I will maybe do it sometimes if I feel like it but is in no way a mandatory thing. You can change anything when you hit 40. You can play the game at challenging difficulty the whole time. If that's where you have the most fun. Heroic is also not mandatory. Yeah you'll get maybe somewhat better rolls but i can tell you when I started I did challening for like 2-3 weeks and had a blast and got everything i needed. So don't overthink it is what I'm saying.. you will be able to tailor your experience to the comfort level you want.

most projects btw require you do them on at least hard.. so you won't be left behind there too.

good job.. i went through the same thing.. I did stuff on normal, then on hard, then I got some striker set, even without exotics, then I moved to challenging.. and played for a while, learned the ropes and then i moved onto heroic.. it's a natural progression in the game.. no rush.. striker will become a bit boring to you after a while so you will try out different builds like ongoing directive, or heartbreaker or hunter's fury.. all good builds and fun.

bare minimum for legendary doesn't really exist. You pick a playstyle and assemble gear for it.
For example, just about any variation of a Hotshot sniper build will work.
Or go for a crit dmg & armor recovery build like Striker with armor on kill or armor regen, or an Umbra build.

The most straightforward playstyle is an all red striker; there are many variants, for example

vest with Obliterate or Perfect Focus or regular Focus if you don't have the perfect version

so here's a few things to aim for:

1. Countdown is the farm for all of us on challenging when we need a piece of gear. Even if you are doing hard, you can join the group and just roll with them. You'll be fine. Hold back a bit on extraction fight so the hunters don't kill you as at that point you are dead dead so you won't get bonus extra credits. Most people will tell you that's the way.
2. If you don't like to play with 8 people or the countdown is too long for you, you can do the same thing solo in Summit. Target farm gear. Totally up to you. The positive thing about Countdown is that you get countdown currency so you can buy exotic chests at the countdown vendor in addition to a ton of gear.
3. CPs are really meant for you to run on challenging or higher and just do them to have fun but the benefit of running them really is you will fill up your blueprint library at the crafting table which is kind of a beneficial thing since you'll be able to craft mods, or specific gear, or weapon attachements which is what you do want to have. They do have to be Alert 3 or higher so that's why you basically want to do them on challenging.
4. Projects will give you additional mats, gear, extra XP and possibly exotic caches. So there's a variety of things you can do.

countdown is fast, I don't get why people say it takes too long. It's significantly faster and more efficient than summit, even when it's heroic countdown

you don't need coyote's mask. You are better off running striker mask instead and use high-end chest piece. Don't use striker chest piece as it will do nothing for you. In order to take advantage of it you have to build up 200 stacks and even in heroic content the enemies will die before you can get the benefit of the chest piece and 200 stacks. Chest is usually used on legendary/raids/masters where the enemies have a lot more health so as you shoot you can actually stack up and maintain 200 stacks for the chest. People will tell you just use ACS12.. again, that will work in leg. / master content not so much in up to heroic. As I mentioned you will be fine and blasting through heroic with offensive chest piece, maybe do a blue core on it, put obliterate on it, use memento backpack and you will be able to do anything in heroic even in a group of 4.

St. Elmos is not mandatory as well. Any AR 850 rpm or higher will work. Just get Damage to Targets Out of Cover (DTOC) as the 3rd attribute on it and put killer on. You'll be fine. St. Elmos is nice dont' get me wrong, I use it on my "striker generalist" build I mention above but I use tons of other guns too.. Chatterbox is another cool gun you might really like. It's easily obtainable from a simple quest where you have to open like 12 hyena boxes around DC (you can look it up on YT). That gun will definitely get your blood pumping if you are a runner/gunner type.

Always try to run suggested builds, never seems to work out.

The trick is to make sure that you run PvP suggested builds, not just any suggested builds.
There's a PvP link in the spreadsheet, but also do make sure you check out the PvP channel I linked. There's a lot of nuance with DZ vs Conflict.

go with @south topaz suggestion.. this is the easiest one.. put it on normal, get all red cores and every minute you will be able to activate the active modifier to get you to tier 5.

I do a bit of both on and off. Just today I did like 5-6 priority objectives and got nothing. But on days where I don’t get exotics from priority I’ll run countdown and after a few runs I’ll buy the exotic caches and try there
