How good is pretty good? Coach Trey filled in once and was 1800 Onyx. He had like a .50 KD for the event. (JaggedCloud is a D1, much worse than Trey.)

Two tournaments ago, Tashi and the studio announced that 2025 is the final year of official HCS circuit for Halo Infinite.
They said it will return at some point, when the next title releases, but to not expect anything in 2026 for this.

Instead, I expect Halo Studios will offer support to the grassroots community in 2026, potentially promoting (and maybe even small funding of prize pools) for groups like LVT Halo, European Halo League, some of the current Partner orgs that do tournaments, etc, etc.
That's my speculation - but we will learn more on Saturday at 4pm about 2026

We aren't in the business of discussing rumors in the server, fyi.

That said, we can all make our own, personal guesses about things.

The places by the c9nvention center aren't much. Gameworks is my favorite, just because they have games and is nearby.

Jupiter on 2nd is a great bar with better arcade games than Gameworks (including a totally mechanical/magnetic version of Pong, its wild) about a mile away but worth the trip.

Von's is probably the classiest place, but its a walk from convention center.

My favorite place nearby would be the Streamliner Tavern to the North and the Hooverville Bar to the South.

Hey! Catching up with all this.

1. Partnered team items for orgs that left HCS will not be coming back. There are contractual and business level reasons for this and unfortunately it isn't something that will be changed at this time.
2. The Ranked Rewards have seen a mixed response but we did want to offer those that do grind the playlists something to recognize their skill and progression. We definitely tried to do the best we could on that front.
3. There are a few items still set aside for future Twitch Drop campaigns. Stay tuned to @HCS on Twitter for info.

I liked the aesthetics and atmospheres of early MLG Halo 1 2, & 3 tournaments. Super nice staff that acted like they were just another attendee, super cool people. The colors of their setup (I believe mostly red, yellow, and blue) were a blessing to the eyes. Each tournament followed the same format, basically... Upwards of 80 four-player teams. Pool play to determine who would be placed where in the following double elimination bracket that went all the way up to the finals. Organizations didn't exist, but I am not an expert on them in general - so I don't know how that would intertwine with the format. Very casual tourneys that felt like fun family gatherings for all Halo players (of any and every skill level).

Those are a just a few thoughts off the top of my head, guys. Let me know if you'd like me to continue to brain-storm ideas about 2026 competitive Halo here on X with you great people.

I think a good way to handle the GAs from the Pros is to follow the CoD route in the sense that X weapons are Competitive play and X are Social, like how theres the "campaign" weapons and the non-campaign
example the Bandit theres 2 one with a scope and one without
this way there isn't all these changes to weapons like the mangler for an example which went through several changes until eventually it got GA'd and then removed all together from Rank play, similar to the pistol, shotgun, sentinel beam, etc

Sweet! Thanks for writing this all out! Good news is that a lot of the people that worked at MLG transitioned to Esports Engine (same founder, competition staff, etc) that build out HCS for Halo Infinite. We used the same format as well that up to 272+ open bracket teams I believe.

Some aesthetics have evolved over time as resources, funding, staffing, venue considerations, fan/player expectations, brand/sponsor priorities, broadcast/viewership needs were all taken into account. Its a juggling act, but hope we caught a bit of the 'spirit' of the MLG days. For Worlds we've also looked to shine a spotlight on the other parts of the Halo community including artists, cosplayers, lore enthusiasts, prop makers, voice actors and more.

Good news is that Halo esports is an open ecosystem and we welcome orgnizers to build out expereicnes that are meaningful to them and their community.

Battle pass weapons? You cant use weapons from CoDs BP in rank play, the Pros in CoD have a little too much say on the weapons they use, which is why the selection for CoD is shit.
But the biggest issue currently with Halo is the weapons for community and rank arent very well separated so when the pros dont like how a gun works they complain and it affects the entire community.

That's the thing, I haven't found anything to replace Twitter. I used to have it for news feeds but mostly hopped off social media. I kept discord for local groups mostly, and I use Reddit as a news aggregator but it's gotten pretty useless. Long story short, I don't have a replacement. A forum where posts stick around are ideal for my old self.

@Kidskull51 It's pretty complex and way easier when you're in the tool picking seats. There are different quantities for different sections. It starts at $75 and best seats in the house hit $225.

The seating selection on the website was really clunky. I had no idea what seat I bought until after checkout. The pressure of everything being scooped up at once didn't help.
