Tashi made it clear that Halo's strength comes from true grassroots tournament play - and Open bracket will always be open.

The pros to playing in the weekly open series is if you do well enough, you get HCS points. The further you go, the more you get. Then when you do go to Orlando and play in the Open Bracket, you have a better seed. Also gives tournament experience.

Players get HCS Pro Points for competing. So when they make a bracket, they seed it based on HCS Pro Points. Think of it like the NBA has #1 play #8 to start. Higher seed usually means better team and easier path to the finals. The bracket isn't random.

Knights host a weekly tournament for $500 prize pool. Doesn’t get a ton of traction but usually gets the top teams out of the MX region. I’ve seen Spartan play in it a few times.

They also host a monthly tournament for $2,000 prize pool. This one is next week on Friday/Saturday. I would imagine you see a similar team if eU and Faze situation isn’t resolved yet.

I agree with anyone that the Sentinels team would be sick and look unbeatable. With that said Cloud9 looked that way and finally lost. No one thought Sentienls with Lethul had enough to beat C9 or Optic. Everyone thought based on scrimmages that Optic had KC in the bag. Just saying winning isn’t guaranteed. With that said, there is definitely a Top3 and then the rest.

Does anyone know how to change the name on individual tickets for HaloWC? Our group bought the tickets on the same order, so we want to make sure that if the name on the ticket is printed on any of the badges, it has the correct name for each person 👍🏻

So I bought 3 for my group that is going.

From Event Brite, there is an option to 'print' you tickets.

On that prinout it will say 'purchased by ______' on all the tickets.

My feeling is that the actual passes for the event won't have names on them - but when checking in, the purchaser who's name is on the tickets bought will need to be present at the time of check-in for all people under that order - and then they'll all get 'generic' passes, including the purchaser.

Just my guess though.

Is anyone else having issues with claiming the twitch drops?

My dad has tried a million different things to try and get his twitch loot, he sometimes gets things and sometimes doesn't

Like he got the original hcs green/hold stuff, but nothing since, and he hasn't changed anything

We tried contacting Customer support but they basically served us a middle finger on a silver plater

It took me several weeks to receive the “Got Milked” Twitch rewards. I did get it eventually though. Best thing to do is submit a ticket and wait.

This is a rare L for HCS.
I know they had 'limited spots available' but isn't that an arbitrary limit that could be easily changed if management thought enough teams were worth it?

I do think it is funny that if HCS never announced more partnerships, they wouldn’t be getting torched like this. Also funny that adding (for example) Ascend, Pittsburgh Knights, and Divine Minds would be tragedy to everyone here, when really, it would be big for the scene in other regions. On the flip side I don’t think partnering with KCP or G1, as much as I like both organizations, would do anything to move the needle in the NA scene.

The most disappointing part of the interview is the lack of information about 343 putting out their own API.

The part I agree with the most though is when Toolez said that HCS has been one of the best parts of Halo this year - and I'd have to agree.

HCS has been consistently crushing it, and while there are some areas for improvement - they've done an amazing job with Infinite.

He did actually talk a bit about API - just that long term 343 sees the solution as being running their own for everyone to use (just like with H5 and HW2) BUT from his answer, it didn't sound like it was close.

Tournys start at noon. You have 15 minutes to get your match started before the other team can DQ you. Typically after round 1 it’s 5-10 minutes before you have your next match and then again you have 15 minutes to get your team in the lobby and ready to start the next match

I went to the KC event, I believe if you paid for a VIP pass you got some of the Twitch drops but they were the same you can earn for free.

But the VIP area wasn’t worth it imo. I’d just pick up the regular pass & have Twitch on your phone for the required time
