the game's popularity has very little to do with the server's activity. consider also that there are many abandoned accounts in the server, and that it's a global community. people not posting when you're viewing the server doesn't mean the server is inactive. the same logic can be applied to game activity too.

What do you mean "switch to Reach's control settings"? When you change the settings you're changing it per game. So for H2A it would be any settings under Halo 2s control settings.

Eventually it became the entire purpose of MCC to port the legacy titles to the Xbox One. In that process it turned out squeezing 7 games and 11 engines onto the original Xbox one was pretty challenging.

Not to mention you have to fundamentally change the games to enable that (H3s playlist xp removed, reach’s commendations, pre/post game lobbies), and suddenly it’s a very complicated web you’re weaving.

This ignores the actual data side of things.

Imagine how much H5 would have to be essentially destroyed to squeeze into what we have in MCC today. Which is so brittle that a major function has been broken for over a YEAR and the company hasn’t even acknowledged it’s broken.

This ignores the huge backlog of other issues.

TLDR: forcing h5 into MCC would likely break both games

In Halo 2 co-op if one person drives too fast the game crashes. And we are discussing adding new games or porting to other platforms 😭😂
