After 40 hours as a new player to halo infinite multiplayer, i have 2 biggest issues with this game: Footstep sounds and Unzoom

• Footsteps in this game are way too low when the enemy is behind you: I came to understand what the developer wanted, i just dont like the execution. By making the footsteps sounds smaller the game pushes player to play more aggresive and try to back smack anyone as much as possible, but i also think this is dumb because it doesnt allow the other player to have a second to react when being approached. There is a way to counter this play by looking at the radar, however it is much inferior when comparing to sound cue. When u are engaging in a fight with someone, your eyes are focus on the enemy and not the radar; incorporating sound cue when being chased behind force player to use both eyes and ears to become aware of their surronding.

• Unzoom when being shot at: Great idea, but very poorly introduce to general fps players. My ideal system is, allowing players to keep zoom with close range weapons such as the AR, ...; introduce bullet damage drop based on distant for high precision weapons such as the BR, Commando, ...; keep the unzoom for sniper weapons to create a fair and balance gameplay

Not gonna lie, beside these 2. Love the game, fluid movement, for some reason both good and horrible lag compensation, all the guns feel great and have weight of their own, cool mechanics such as repulsor can repel rockets, ...

True, however my point is more like this (sorry for comparing to other games). In counter strike, one way smoked used to be a thing and it was OP. But Valve decide to remove that, and allow players to break the smoke by throwing a grenade at it and reveal the enemy behind it. This helps new player to play at a decent chance vs a veteran, and can create new creative ways to make a game changing play.

I think the thruster pack being a base ability can easily with the equipment being a thing in the game as well

After reading the piece, the news is thankfully not that dire: they're just retiring Halo Infinite from HCS after being HCS's longest-running major esports title. And they added to the expectation that the 25th anniversary celebration of Halo will indeed be a big deal. Hopefully 2027 brings us some big things!
