It will automatically switch you to the latest available paid battle pass that you're entitled to. In the switcher tab, if there is no 'equip' or 'upgrade to premium' button under the passes you want to progress, then you should probably submit a bug report.

I really don't like all the constant retcons either so I'm hoping the eventual Halo 7 doesn't do the same and just drop everything off screen.

We've no idea what the next Halo game will be, and if they'll transfer cosmetics. But generally, yes, digital cosmetic microtransactions don't carry over to newer games. Whether that's a 'waste' or not is up to you, you bought the cosmetics for Infinite, and that's what you got.

Yeah, most popcorn companies typically don't recommend the popcorn setting because it tends to be innaccurate based on how it "measures" the popcorn, I can't properly explain it but there are videos as to why it works for some microwaves and not others
