@faint dragon I know it's cool to be able to play PC/console-level games on your phone right off the bat but that is ignoring the fact that most game developers won't port said games, so you're left with very few options while paying a ton of money for a heavily closed down (walled garden) ecosystem, pretty much limiting what all of that power could be used for, for example on your "traditional" phones I can tinker with everything, install different OSes, host hypervisors, compile large projects, run massive servers, while being able to play the largest games available on them, while also having the option to tinker with a few things to run those games you mentioned without even them being watered down

I think this is just the beginning, and more are definitely on the way.
This was also said for Linux distributions where game developers may one day port their games to them but that hardly ever happens, game developers usually only port their games like this if they really see a profit or benefit in some way which hardly comes any in this way unless someone or some company pays a huge amount of money to incentivize them to do it

The point that most game developers will be hesitant until there's a good enough incentive for them to port their games to these devices, I'm not saying there won't be any more options, I'm saying it's highly unlikely, not even mentioning the fact how drastically you have to change your game for it to run well on these devices

About the articles however they're not outdated, and it's rather a side note that not much people want this (aka demand is low)

As I already said I did not say everyone needs to tinker but having the ability to do so is better simply because you may need it later, for example macOS is fine because it's significantly less locked down than iOS and you can do lots of things with it unlike iOS, and when I say "tinker" I don't just mean being able to replace the ROM or whatever, I mean also being able to run servers, hypervisors, terminal applications, and much more which iOS prevents

Regarding data collection and sharing, both ecosystems do that without your knowledge to various services that you've never even heard of, often relying on them for the functionality

I'm not talking about drastic changes in the gameplay, I'm talking about the underlying technologies and architectures/structures that the game is built upon because the development pipelines on mobile is vastly different than on PCs for optimal performance, I'm not denying that there won't be any new games, I'm just saying it's highly unlikely (which we have seen with multiple other platforms) (I can't share links to those articles here because of MEE6)

I genuinely don't know if you think having green bubbles in messages is more "fluid" or not, and Android has equivalents of FaceTime, iMessages, and more if not even better (for example it has RCS which Apple has resisted to implement for a very very long time), I acknowledged previously that not everyone needs to do what I mentioned, but having the option is nicer and opens up a lot more capabilities than just what I mentioned, but you're correct in the regard that it's preference which I haven't denied (but no running those things does not make the device more vulnerable)

Yeah like the Faraday Future's top speed irl is actually 200-210 mph max but they put in 320+ mph top speed with boosters but the SSC Tuatara actually goes 318 mph irl but they kept the stock speed to 275.1 mph like why are there so many fake speeds?
